Claire took care of us yesterday evening and she was on point in every way. Very friendly, attentive, and intuitive to our dining needs. She also knows her stuff regarding the menu. We value outstanding service just as much as the food & drinks at the places we dine, so well done, Claire!! Now let's talk about the food... We started out with amazing cocktails. I had the Capri (HIGHLY recommend) and my husband had a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. We then ordered the scallops and Ceasar salad (yum!). For our entrees we shared the Bolognese (to die for!) and the Vodka pizza which creamy and delicious! Ok so it's only open a week so we are local and decided to go and try it. The bar is stunning all be it we waited a super long time for drinks/ they should be quick to be honest we ordered a pizza a vodka pasta and a mozarella salad. Salad was awful pesto was tasteless tomatoes were so cold and cheese no taste we had to order olive oil and salt and pepper! I've been hearing about this new restaurant and wanted to give it a try with my friends. We made a reservation day of and got sat on the patio, which was surprisingly very spacious and I liked how the shaded curtains can come down to block the wind. Our server was Mario. He was so attentive, friendly and very detailed in his work. He checked in at all the right times and made us feel welcomed from start to finish. Mario gave us some great recommendations such as adding pepperoni on the Fungi pizza. We ordered the gem Caesar salad plus calamari stole the show. I would come back just for the appetizers!!! My favorite appetizers are the hummus, calamari, meatballs and I've ordered brussel sprouts as appetizer and I stand by all these dishes 11/10!! For entrees their pizzas are so delicious but the stand outs are the pastas! I highly recommend their tea time cocktails and Amalfi just perfection! Came to Salina with a party of 6 (3 couples) and the night started with them trying to squeeze us into a booth clearly designed for 4 people and maybe a purse. Thankfully they moved us pretty quickly. The service, though... Our server told us he had just turned 21, which honestly explained a lot. We had several questions about the drink menu and he couldn't answer any of them and also couldn't find anyone else who could. At a place charging $95 for a steak, I feel like someone on staff should have basic wine knowledge. The food itself was decent overall. Caesar salad was great, truffle fries were really good, and the aglio e olio weirdly tasted like ramen... but in a comforting, actually enjoyable way. The meatball appetizer was not good. Also, they wouldn't let me add protein to my pasta, which felt oddly strict for a restaurant. One particularly confusing moment: the pizza arrived uncut with scissors on the table so we could cut it ourselves. Then came the seasonal vegetables side dish $18 for approximately four pieces of broccoli. Delicious broccoli, sure. But still emotionally difficult broccoli. The absolute highlight was when our server boxed up leftovers. Two couples ordered the same bolognese, and he took both plates to pack up at the same time. When he brought them back, I asked which container belonged to us. His response: "Well they had about the same amount in them so they're basically the same." Sir. That is not how ownership works. When I explained we didn't really want to take someone else's pasta home, he just stared for a second and walked away. We also had to ask for spoons after dessert arrived. Just tried this new spot in Porter Ranch and I'm already obsessed. We ordered the scallops and meatballs for appetizers, truffle pizza, and vodka pasta and every single dish was unreal. They even brought us out a sample of their sunday roast prime rib and it was literally to die for. The meatballs... genuinely the best I've ever had. The drinks were amazing, everything was so well made, and you can tell they really care about the quality. On top of that, the service was incredible. Everyone was so nice and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. For a place that just opened, they're already doing SO good. The vibes are also really nice!! TO be fair, I'm a bit mehhh about it, and I'm being very generous with the 4 stars - because I feel like I owe them another visit just to be swayed - here or there . If or when I do go, I won't be getting the calamari. Definitely not the greatest - toooo greasy - almost not fresh, trying to hide under the massive coating and unorthodox spicy dressing. Tasted like the oil it's fried in hasnt been changed for a long time. We ordered their most expensive bottle of white wine - italian - and my husband loved the wine. The wait staff was very attentive and the approach was very very "new restaurant" so I hope they keep it up with their "on top of their service game" approach" My son got the carbonara - and it was very heavy. we got the bolognaise for the table, and it was very fresh, and the sauce was light and tasty. My other son got the burger and said it was good. I got the ceaser salad - what I found kinda weird was that I asked for chicken on it, and they said I would have to order the chicken parm entree, and ask for no cheese and no sauce - to basically get the "side of breaded chicken" I asked if they don't just have grilled chicken to add some type of protein to the salad, and the best the waitress could do was tell me that since they are so new, they are still adapting to "special orders" or "Special requests" I don't get what was so unusual about chicken on the ceasar, but she was so cute and polite, I went with it. Believe it or not, I went with that option - did the ceasar salad with the side of chicken parmesan - not as an entree, and even though she said it was going to come on a separate plate - they had chopped it onto the salad. The ceasar salad is more of a "for the table" order - it is massive - and whole romaines - but the dressing was toooo much and too overpowering with the garlic and parm mix. lighten that up too. I feel like I wanted to see a few more options. I think the food is on the heavier side - too fried, or too breaded. I wish they would add some lighter, fresher, healthier options. I know what you're thinking - don't go to an italian restaurant if you want a lighter meal - you're going for pizza and pasta - Yes I am! and the reason I say to be fair i should go one more time is to try the pizza - which we did not do the first time around. But in terms of apps - or even lighter protein options - I'd like to see at least one other none-friend alternative. I will repost if I go. Hopefully I will have better things to say, but 4 stars aint bad at all for the ok experience I had the first time. Had high hopes for this place. The good... the Cesar salad is huge and very good. It also comes with a hefty price tag. The portions are decent size and the price on the pastas are reasonable. The bad... no bread service. You can order bread and for $20 we got 6 very small pieces of focaccia. Not worth it at all. The wine by the glass prices for a 5oz are insane. The food... my daughter got the spaghetti and it was fine and my husband got the carbonara and it was fine as well. A little too creamy. I ordered the vodka and couldn't eat it. It was so spicy that all I can taste was the spice. No vodka sauce flavor at all. I know it said spicy and I asked the waitress how spicy it was and she said like a 1 or 2. Not even close. Met my parents here on a Sunday evening when it was pretty busy. We had some wine at the bar since we were early and we immediately noticed how cool the decor is. They had a great selection of wines and I was very pleased with my Sauvignon Blanc. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and we loved how all of the staff were so friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We ordered an array of appetizers, pizzas, pastas, and a bottle of red wine. What stood out for me was the Hokkaido scallops, Caesar salad, and the Margarita Pizza. The staff seemed a little confused which you'd get with a new restaurant, so with time and training this could get better. The bigger problem was the food and the menu. The menu didn't make a lot of sense in terms of what was offered, but the worst part of the experience was the food. What frustrated me most wasn't even the wait. It was the disconnect between the prices, the image this restaurant is trying to project, and the actual experience. If you're going to charge premium prices, nickel-and-dime customers for basic accompaniments, emphasize reservations, and market yourself as a high-end dining destination, then the service and execution need to match. Instead, the entire operation felt remarkably inefficient. Tables sat empty while guests waited. Orders were misplaced. Food was delivered to the wrong tables. Communication was inconsistent. We spent over three hours there and never received the entrees we ordered. There's nothing wrong with being an expensive restaurant. There is something wrong with charging luxury prices while delivering an experience that feels completely disorganized. At the end of the day, this restaurant wants to be perceived as a luxury dining experience. Was looking forward to a new place up here. Very nice ambience. We are at the bar which is also really nice. I've read several reviews commenting on the good service. Those guys must have had the night off. Our bartender/server was really nice, for the 5 minutes we saw her. Ghost. Has to ask to order. Had to find silverware ect at another setting. Some things that have to be on me for not asking or checking the menu first. Iced tea (that never got refilled) $7! Some very dry bland focaccia bread $18!! Glass of "house " Pinot $33 They do have great sangrias for $13. Go figure The entrees were not remarkable, and were good sized portions. We took some home is a REALLY nice paper bag. So they're good at that. All in all they are probably the nicest place in Porter ranch so that will help for a while. The parking is of course horrible even if it's the bougiest place there. We really wanted to like it. But for almost $300 for a dinner for two, the service needs to be good every night. That's a management issue. Finney's service puts them to shame! Honestly. Funny thing, two days after we were there I ran into two different guys at the Porter Ranch Starbucks that said they Had the exact same experience. Not a good sign for them. I was hesitant to post this review since my wife and I have been excited about this place for a very long time but here it goes. Salina is a beautifully designed restaurant at the vineyards in Porter Ranch. It's just gorgeous. The effort that went into designing the space, however, I wish could have been placed in hiring the right personnel to work in the space. Mind you, this was not my first experience at the restaurant. I went in for a to-go order the week before with no issues and a stellar experience. This specific time however, I walked in, told the hostesses I was there to make a to-go order, and she instantly responded by saying they aren't taking to-go orders at the moment, which was a complete lie seeing as I had ordered the week prior. I told her out of bewilderment that I had ordered to-go before so, yes, they are taking to-go orders. I walked over to the bar since that was where I went last time to do it. I placed my order and added a Spritz on top of the order since I knew I'd be waiting a while as it was very busy. I asked a waiter if the table that had just opened up was part of the bar seating area. He said yes and I said fantastic. Moments later the same fake Zooey Deschanel looking waitress came over and asked me if I was waiting on my to-go order. I said yes but also I'm waiting for my drink. She then did something that is the ugliest behavior I've seen in any restaurant I've been to ever... she said, "ok, well now the table is reserved and I'll need to give you 15 minutes to leave". And then she dropped a "reserved" sign on the table. I could not believe what I experienced. I finally received my drink afterward, which was the wrong one, by the way, but I drank it anyway so as not to stay there any longer than I had to. Once I finished, I told a couple that had been waiting for bar seating to open up that they could have my table. I did this purposely to see if they would also be told they could not sit there due to a pending reservation. Sure enough, the hostess came by, saw the couple sitting there, and removed the reserved sign and I'm assuming she told them the table was no longer reserved. I simply laughed to myself as I knew what had just taken place. I later walked over to the hostess to told her "the table was never reserved was it?" I didn't care for her reply at the point. I walked away and waited for my order. To add insult to injury, the pizza I ordered was too salty, cold as if it had been sitting out for a while, and I have no clue how that margherita pizza is not a NY style cheese pizza? 1/5 for the horrible service here. My advice to the owners if they are reading this reply: please train your staff. There are so many ways to handle situations without completely turning off your customers. I work at a multi-trillion dollar company and had mentioned this restaurant to my team for team lunches, but we will be going to Lure instead. I had a reservation booked for a special occasion and had specifically selected outdoor seating through their OpenTable system. When I arrived the hostess took us to an indoor table by the bar and restrooms without initially saying anything. She was surprised to hear us notify her of our outdoor reservation. They said they were fully booked outside and according to them "other parties added or modified their reservations" and I'd have to wait an hour for a table I reserved. I'm unsure if this is how they operate or if this was an error, but no remorse or accountability was shown from any of the hostesses. And no attempt to accomdate us was made. They also did not contact me after an hour or at all for the table like they had said. Don't go here if you expect a table you reserve or any amount of service from either of three hostess. "You see, you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Wanted to love it -- a Porter Ranch neighbor's honest take We'd been looking forward to this one. A polished new spot from the team behind a Michelin-starred restaurant, right in the neighborhood -- exactly what this area needs more of. Sadly, our visit didn't live up to the billing. We arrived around 8pm. There appeared to be open tables inside, but we were told they were full and seated outside -- in 91-degree heat. Not a great first impression at these prices, and an easy thing for a place aiming this high to manage better. We ordered the individual pizza ($25) and the chicken parm ($45). The pizza was average -- fine, but nothing you'd cross town for. The parm was the real letdown: breaded and fried so hard it was genuinely difficult to cut, more hockey puck than cutlet. To their credit, it came off the bill. But no manager or staff member came by to acknowledge the issue, and at this level that kind of follow-up is exactly what you're paying for. For context on price: entrées like the branzino and prime rib run $65-$85, and the wine list carries names like Opus One and Screaming Eagle. When you're positioning yourself in that tier, the food and hospitality have to match, and on our visit they didn't. Honestly, Slice House around the corner served us a better, more satisfying meal for a fraction of the cost. I'm rooting for this place to figure it out -- we'd genuinely love a great independent restaurant nearby instead of another chain. But based on our experience, we won't be rushing back. read more

First off... delish! But also, Kaitlyn (I believe) was the most gorgalicious and kind server ever! I think all the women in there were girls girls. And the food runner (I believe) with one singular earring was so sweet and kind too! The manager took good care of us and tried his best to provide great service. I will say (and I mean this in the nicest way possible) but I would prefer if he didn't correct the staff in front of us. I think someone told us the wrong cheese name and he cut him off and corrected him which I feel like was worse then him just telling us the wrong cheese. I lowkey didn't care what the cheese was I just wanted the cheese. Maybe if you care a lot about cheese it would be a problem but also I feel like that's something that could've been done privately in like a less embarrassing way. Literally not mad at the manager though cause he was rlly kind too. Idk I'm not mad at anyone this place was good. Also the bathroom was crazy. Boy smells candles AND the seats were heated.
