The food is great. The staff is great. My only complaint is the seating. There are too many tables very close together. You are sitting on top of each other. It's so crowded the wait staff can barely get through the aisles. Last night a tray of food was dropped on a table of four. I was personally bumped more than ten times by staff and patrons. Even though the food and service were good, what really disappointed me is the deceptive pricing. I ordered chicken and beef fajitas for one person. The price on the menu was 18.99, however I was charged 19.99. When asked, the waitress said an extra dollar was for the combination, however the menu didn't have any extra charge for the combination, nor the waitress mentioned anything about it. It's not about an extra buck - I can certainly pay that. It's about principle. I hate deceptive practices and prices, and I hate when restaurants make fools out of customers. read more

They lost my online order & it took 45 minutes to finally get my order done. They actually had to take a picture of my order confirmation email to make my food. Only got an apology when I asked for the manager. She just acted frustrated about their internet system but showed me no interest in my inconvenience. In a side note, even before 9pm hosts were already telling people coming in that they were about to close even though they were open for another hour. Watched 3 employees out in the dining area blatantly playing on their phones. I love love love the Frisco location but this location definitely does not run a great restaurant. I won't be back. I've lived in this area for almost 6 years and had never been to Salsa before. I've heard nothing but good things about it, so gave it a try last weekend. I'm glad I did! I was there for happy hour on Sunday, which I guess is pretty much all day, every day, except Fridays during certain hours. I had a Swirl Margarita...and after that, I tried their house Margarita on the rocks. I noticed it is pre-made, and that's usually a turn off for me. I like to see my margarita hand made by the bartender. I always feel like you get a thimbles worth of tequila when it's pre-made. I have to admit that their margaritas are very good - tart, with just a little sweetness which I like. I didn't order food this go round. Next time I visit, I will. The menu looked great, and the food being served near me smelled and looked yummy! I thought the chips and salsa were excellent. The bean dip that was complimentary was very tasty as well, especially with a little of the hot green salsa added on top. The people at the bar all seemed to be "regulars". I talked to a few of them, and they had been going to Salsa for years. One customer wrote down her number and handed it to me saying, "next time you decide to come here, send me a text, and my husband and I will join you!" This TexMex place is a hole in the wall! They give you THREE dips for their thin crispy tortilla chips- green salsa (very spicy), red salsa (mild), and black bean dip. All of them are amazing that we got refills to eat with our main dishes. We tried the Mario and Saul's Favorite to try the different enchiladas and tacos. We came to visit for a team outing and they were able to seat our table of 13 rather quickly (we arrived at 5 to get ahead of the rush). Our server was patient and our drinks arrived very shortly after ordering. Having a large party is never easy, however Salsas rocked it! We've been eating at Salsa since it opened. Chips come with red (too spicy!) and green salsa plus warm black bean dip (yum!). Favorites include the tortilla soup, chicken enchiladas with mole, and bistec a la mexicana. Unlike most Mexican restaurants, they have good salads! The servers do an excellent job, too. read more

Was recommended this place MANY times from many people. Finally tried it. It's not bad. The refried beans weren't great, almost watery. The whole restaurant felt cold and odd. Not warm, fuzzy and friendly. The staff was nice but felt bothered and rushed to get to their digital devices. Everyone was texting and the vibe was weird. Also... it's a buzzkill when you got to a certain type of restaurant for a "vibe" and it is completely thrown off by the music. When I go to a TEXMEX restaurant I want that vibe - I want to hear Tejano, ranchero - something in that playlist. NOT cumbias, NOT Shakira, NOT Celia... c'mon! Long time friends live in the neighborhood where this Salsa Tex Mex is located. They raved about it so often we had to try it. Now we're regulars! Located in a strip mall, it isn't fancy, but the restaurant is always completely full. If a wait is required for seating, it usually isn't long. Everything we've tried here has been excellent. True TexMex fare, which I often prefer to the fancier (but not always better) "Southwestern" or "authentic interior Mexican" fare. We're addicted to the black bean dip that comes alongside semi-spicy salsa and avocado crema with a kick and awesome, light tortilla chips. We've learned to pace ourselves with the chips and dips because they could easily be a meal! We're big fans of anything they offer with brisket... brisket tacos, brisket enchiladas... it is always perfectly prepared and so tasty. I love the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce. The shrimp enchiladas are also great. The portions are plentiful, and the service is always good. It is reasonably priced, and there are ValPak coupons occasionally. Glad we were introduced to this gem. Writing this review is making me salivate; I'm texting the hubby right now to tell him we're going to Salsa Tex Mex for dinner tonight! read more

This place is my favorite Mexican place! Everything I have ordered has been amazing and the prices are very reasonable! I was overcharged for my last order. I was told to request the green sauce when I order because they don't give it unless you do, so tonight I was charged for the extra little cup of salsa, because I never got the green sauce that I ordered. I am sure it was an oversight and will make sure I straighten things out during my next order. Still appreciate this business! They are always busy, sometimes WAY too busy. Take out is the way to go. Disappointing. We came in for dinner and According to friends usually the food is great, but we were very let down. We ordered the brisket quesadillas and shrimp nachos . We ended up having to send the shrimp nachos back because you could literally taste the freezer burn. The smell of the shrimp was also terrible , which I've never experienced at any other restaurant. My brisket quesadillas were eh. Way too chewy, but the flavor was still pretty good. I'd say the only saving grace was the decent service . For it being busy the server was pretty fast and friendly . ( except for forgetting to fill up my water the entire meal. Lol) but hey you live and you learn! If you want cheap food , but maybe not the best quality I'd recommend this place .
