Food is really good at this neighborhood restaurant. We have had a number of items. The fajitas, enchiladas, tacos and quesadillas have all tasted great. The large ice cold draft beers sure hit the spot on a summer day. Service is always pretty good but can be strained at times when it gets crowded. We've had 2 horrible experiences here, but this one will be the last. My 10 year old wrote this review. This place is just awful. I've been here 5-6 times and 4 of them were bad. The waiters are extremely rude. Today I was celebrating my birthday, (yay!) and I went with my mom and grandma. This was the place I chose for my birthday, while I had lots of other options.. I have a sensitive digestive system, so I had to order the fajitas well done. My mom ordered a enchilada - same for my grandma. The salsa tasted spoiled, and smelled spoiled as well. The tea had no ice and my Dr. pepper was watery. The waiter wasn't coming to our table, only serving alcohol to other tables (my family doesn't really drink). At least the Queso was good! When our food finally came, my grandma glanced at my fajitas and asked to send them back right away. They took them back. Also, my grandma and mom's enchiladas were cold. How could this get any worse you ask? Well, it definitively did! They took everything back, and when it came back out my grandma had beans spilled inside her enchilada, mine was bloody red, and my moms was hard. We found out they were microwaved. I attached a picture of the steak. They gave us a 30 dollar bill, which is pretty expensive for such a bad dinner. Oh wait! There's more. When the manager came over there, he seemed mad and we knew because of the way he slid it across the table. Friendly place to greet you at the door. Got a table for my family, and was immediately asked about drinks. Shortly thereafter the chips and three different salsa sides were placed on the table for me. I tried all three the bean, The Verde, and they're red salsa. All three were very good! We ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas, the carne asada, and the mole chile relleno. The youngest one got a chicken quesadilla. All the food and the service were excellent! The price is pretty decent considered an inflation. My son wanted me to point out that they have great drinks and great drink prices during happy hour. read more

We had a party of nine and it was the first time for 5 of them. Our waitress did not know the menu and could not understand Enflush. They wrong appetizer's were brought out. 5 out of the 4 were here as their first experience. 3 plates of entrees were brought out and were ice cold. 1 was completely wrong. They "tried to fix" the ones that were wrong but by the time they brought them out everyone else was done eating. Very disappointed. read more

Today I visited this location and received horrible, offensive imprudent service. This complaint is directed towards the service I received from the store "manager" himself, "Roger" who decided to act in a manner that was rude, demeaning, and passive aggressive. He also thought it was proper to say to a customer, "Get the HELL out of here" in front of my two young children over a SIDE OF SALSA.   I will not go over the details of the incident here but regardless of what the situation was, how this manager handled the situation was not acceptable. The manager was obviously emotionally distressed for no apparent reason and started making comments that were not appropriate in addition to addressing me as "baby" and "honey" throughout the conversation. When I started to take a picture of my leftover salsa, he violently grabbed all the plates off the table telling me that I could not take pictures clearly because he knew this was something that did not have to be escalated to this point. The poor and sweet waitress came up and told me that she was so sorry about his behavior which is a good evidence of and abundantly clear the negative ambience he is creating in the restaurant. I CANNOT fathom him being a position of leadership and wow, what a great role model he is for all the waitstaff and children at the restaurant.   There was no point in talking to this "manager" who clearly has no boundaries so I decided to walk away so I could speak to the owner at a later time. As mentioned earlier, as I walked out, he shouted, "Get the HELL OUT OF HERE" in front of about 20+ customers and my children. Needless to say, this is probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to, and to receive poor treatment from the store manager nonetheless is absolutely pitiful. The comments he made, the tone of his voice and the level of sheer disrespect illustrates poor and awful customer service skills I have ever experienced in my life. I have forwarded a complaint to the owner to ensure this kind of customer service does not happen to other customers again. read more

I've been driving by this place for many years now. My husband finally agreed to try(He's loyal to the ones he likes to go to). We got there close to 5pm and there were quite a bit of customers there eating. We got seated right away and drinks/chips/salsa followed. They brought us 2 different salsa, one with red and another one with beans. The bean dip was so delicious! I also ordered a cup of queso dip(other Yelpers had raved about it)and I thought it was decent. We shared a bowl of Tortilla soup and it was good and flavorful. For entrees, we ordered shrimp tacos and shrimp enchilada. My tacos were ok, but my husband liked his shrimp enchilada. Our server was very friendly, prompt and attentive. When we asked him questions about the menu, he marketed them very well. The only thing was that it was kind of pricey in my opinion. I absolutely love this place. We are weekly patrons and we have never had a bad dish. They have beat chicken tortilla soup (IMO), Bryan's taco is a must for my son, their chicken Chipotle enchiladas- O M G. The skinny margarita is my drink of choice. Oh and Sunday brunch is the best. $1.50 mimosas - cmon!! Miguel is my absolute favorite waiter. He's attentive, funny and speaks with my son in Spanish to help him practice for school and just a great guy. Rogello (sp?) the manager/owner is also great. Never misses a chance to say hello to us. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food with DELICIOUS bean dip and salsa, look no further. I came here last night for dinner with my friends because we were craving some Mexican food. My friends ordered the frozen margarita and I ordered a pina colada (WHICH WAS AMAZING!!). They put coconut flakes on top of the pina colada too! The salsa here is fantastic, has a good amount of spice to it, but it's not unbearable. And if you don't like any spice at all, try the bean dip, which is AMAZING as well. Finally, I ordered the brisket tacos (comes with 3 tacos) and it also came with beans, rice and sliced avocado. These brisket tacos were so juicy and filled with flavor. They were fantastic and I highly recommend them. My friends ordered the chicken quesadillas and she loved those as well. I also want to touch on the service here. Service is impeccable. This is a cute little restaurant tucked away in a shopping center. On a Friday night it was pretty packed. The furniture is a bit outdated and not very comfortable. The bar area was pretty but not very spacious. If there is a wait, there really isn't anywhere to wait. To start I ordered a sangria and my boyfriend ordered a margarita. My sangria was way too sweet. It tasted like they added too much sugar. My boyfriends margarita however was great! Each were priced at $6. Not bad. The chips they serve are fresh and come out hot. The salsa has a good flavor but it's not very spicy. For dinner I ordered the chicken fajita nachos and my boyfriend got the brisket tacos. My chicken nachos were very good. The chicken was tender and had a great flavor to them. My boyfriends tacos were good. The brisket had a great flavor to them. Very juicy. Overall a nice little restaurant. I'd give 3 1/2 stars but yelp doesn't allow for 1/2. The servers are very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is a good size but also very loud. I love Salsa! I live 5 mins away from Salsa and hadn't been by to try it until recently when my friend suggested it after our work out. I wish I had tried it earlier!!! Salsa is more of a family owned establishment which I really liked compared to the typical franchise Tex Mex restaurants. This really shined in their friendly service. I had the fajita nachos which you are given the choice of getting beef or chicken fajita. I couldn't make up my mind on which to choose and they let me get half-half beef and chicken. A++ for catering to their customers. The nachos were delish! They are piled up with bean spread, cheese, and meat and still didn't get soggy as I was eating. Even though they are listed under the appetizer section it still filled me up and my belly was happy! Every table is started with a basket of chips, spicy salsa, and black bean dip. I had never had black bean dip before and was a little hesitant on trying it because of its looks... but never judge a book by its cover!! The black bean dip was AMAZING!! So smooth and flavorful... it really balanced out the spicy salsa and cooled down my mouth for MORE spicy salsa! Those two dips together were so addicting and the server was happy to refill for us! They have soo many options on their menu and it can be a little overwhelming to choose from but I'm sure everything they make is fresh and good! The only complaint I had was that it was sort of busy when I came so the server wasn't around often to refill my water which stayed empty for quite some time. The service at the bar was terrible. It was our birthdays and I was visiting Plano Texas. My sister suggested we get drinks at Salsa Tex-Mex around the corner from her home. Previous interactions with the bar staff was lacking and unattentive to our needs. We are women of color which is what I believe the problem to be. While we patiently waited for menus and assistance we were ignored. The staff assisted the white patrons that came in behind us and sat at the bar. They were immediately offered menu's and glasses of water while we sat there watching in disbelief. We were talking to nice ladies sitting beside us and we notified them it was our birthday. It was one of these ladies that called the staff over and advised we had not been assisted yet. The bartender went to the other side of the bar and said he would help us when he came back. He went to the other end of the bar and started talking to what I'll assume are his regular customers. He took his sweet time coming back to us to take our order and bring menu's. We've been going here for years, but tonight was our last. The skinny margaritas are usually great & inexpensive, but they are not worth the 2 hour wait we endured tonight when we were told the wait would be 15 minutes. We were overlooked at seating (skipped, although we had a buzzer). Once we were finally seated, others who sat after us the waiter took their orders 1st & they received their food before we were ever allowed to order. It was the same waiters station so it's not like one specific section was busier. Yes, it was busy, but to have this many issues & a 2 hour wait is simply unacceptable. We are regulars & this wasn't the first situation like this. We normally don't get too worked up unless it's really bad. Tonight it was really bad. We were just not fans of this place. Our entire family loves Chile Relleno, and were devastated to find out our regular Tex-Mex place, Chuy's, stopped selling them. We were eager to try out the Chile Relleno at Salsa to see if it would hold up. Sadly the Chile Relleno here was just nasty. The cheese inside tasted very low quality and greasy, to the point not one person in our family could finish even a single dish. The tomato sauce on top looked and tasted like the watered down marinara sauce you would expect to find on a cheap Italian parmigiana dish. To their credit, the other dishes we tried were much better. The ceviche was packaged nicely with tomato, avocado, and lime slices. The seafood itself in the ceviche was just okay, but the side salad and pico de gallo were nice. Their Tres Leches cake was the best part of the meal. It's not the best Tres Leches I've had (I would've preferred more cream), but it was solid. Unfortunately the other dishes don't make up for that awful Chile Relleno. read more
