My family and I have been to Anna Maria and the surrounding area several times. This last time we went, we decided to go to Salt. I can say that I 100% don't regret that decision. I'm from New England, so I'm used to fresh seafood. Food was fresh and delicious. We had the special (octopus) which was tender and cooked perfectly. Drinks are also amazing. When we visit again, I'll make sure not to miss. Holly was our waitress who was also top notch. Can't wait to be back. read more

I've walked and driven past this place so many times and never stopped in. Luckily, rented a house right next to it and finally decided we needed some cocktails. Then might as well try a couple thing. The caprese salad was so good and pesto was some of the best. I was happy they had west coast oysters and were served with all the right fixings! Our bartender Michael was great and went over everything. Definitely will be back! read more

Worth every penny. We had a handful of appetizers and different entrees. EVERYTHING was delicious, you cannot go wrong with anything on that menu. We decided to sit outside before the sun has gone. It was a tab chilly but they sweetly offered a blanket & heaters if needed. We ordered from the happy hour menu; HOMEMADE tater tots, they were topped with crab & SO GOOD. We had an amazing time coming here for dinner on our trip! We came with a big group for my best friends birthday and this included kids. The staff were so welcoming and nice to us even though I know it can get chaotic with children and a big group. They were super attentive and treated us amazing. The restaurant was a great choice for a bday dinner. I loved the vibes and ambiance inside , it was super funky. The food was great as well. It has potential. Good foundation to build upon and they recently opened so I'm hoping they can resolve the issues and get to be a great 5 Star location on the island. Pros: Beautiful space inside and great back courtyard. Best Brussels sprouts I've had in months. Good variety on the menu, enjoyed fish tacos & edamame dumplings. Cons: Absurdly slow service, totaled 2 1/2 hours for a table of 3 to have dinner, with long 15-20 minute periods with no sign of our waiter. $19 cocktails is highest I've seen in the area (even more than the spectacular Doctor's office that can command that price). Wife's burger was $25 and lackluster. Draft beer on the menu but not available. All in all, I'll try again in a few months and hope that service improves, stick to beer & avoid the burger. read more

I have lived on Anna Maria for many years and have tried pretty much everyplace on the island at one time or another. This place is wonderful and ranks in my top three places for great handmade cocktails and great food. While it is true they have had some growing pains and in the current economy and staffing shortages WHO hasn't! They have fixed the problems and are very attentive to their customers. The manager is not only a total pro ... he is one great and knowledgeable bartender. You can tell he has grown up in the business. If you want a quiet, charming, classy drink and some dinner this is a place you should put on your list. If you are a Bourbon drinker try the house infused bourbon (not gonna give away the details). By the wait I really like the new patio. Well done! read more

First time here since the change from Sharkey's. Very nice inside with bright decor in a rather small place. This made for a lively and loud dining experience. Our server, Carrie, was very nice and attentive. We had the fish tacos and the burger. Both were good and portioned well. The downsides... NO Parking, valet is about it. Prices, even for the island are a little steep. 20 bucks for a burger. 20 bucks for a cocktail?! Its a nice place, but I can't justify the prices for the location. read more

Love the atmosphere inside! Our waiter was very attentive and polite. The outdoor patio was very cute and shady. Food was a little disappointing. We had salads and they lacked flavor. Nicely done! The views of the water and dolphins are amazing around sunset. Food: Decent in my most recent visit. The fish grouper tacos can be fried, grilled or blackened. The meat was huge, not just scraps like at some places but large pieces that barely fit in the taco shell. The toppings had hot peppers that overpowered the taste. The provided green sauce was also a bit spicy but comes on the side so you can apply just the right amount or none at all. At $30 this was a bit steep for tacos with a scoop of rice. My friend had grilled Red Snapper that was good. At $38 this is near the top range of filet pricing. Alcohol: I tried the "Meet Your Bahama Mama" which was nicely prepared @ $12. My friend ordered a custom drink with DOUBLE shot that was properly made but wasn't entirely finished. It was a bit more subdued vs the Mama. I tried it and couldn't tell there was two shots... $15 for the later. Water: they don't offer tap water, instead charging $2 for bottled water. One star off for this. I was finished with my cocktail early and sat the next hour with nothing to drink. Parking: free across the street in the lot on the north side. However there are numerous trailers blocking parking spots and others are labeled "compact" so when it gets busy you might need to pay at the adjacent lot. On a Tuesday in the offseason there were free spots available. The restaurant also has a large area under a tiki roof that is really beautiful with numerous TVs playing sports. This area has huge ceiling fans keeping things cooler than the tables out near the water. One star off for a super bad fly problem that occurs when your food arrives. We spent an hour waving our hands over our plates. At times there were ten flies trying to land on the food. We asked if they had the fly fans some places have, but none are available. As bad as this is why haven't they invested in some of these battery powered fans that really work well? Amazon sells battery and rechargeable versions for $6 each. Total for 2 entrees, 2 alcoholic drinks & 1 water with 20% tip: $126. Yikes! Justifies my 3 star rating. They also hit you with a 3% credit card charge. Ridiculous for a place already charging high prices. Just screams cheap nickle and diming. The current Yelp score for this restaurant is just over 2 stars. Our experience was better thanks to Chris and the amazing sunset.

Unfortunately, when we left, Eric was waiting in the parking lot and approached us again. He ran up to my car and repeated, "Would you like to take care of that tip?" The second interaction felt even more uncomfortable than the first. I was born and raised in Manatee County and am very familiar with the parking situations on the island and the etiquette surrounding tipping. In my opinion, if tips are expected to this extent, it would be better to charge a parking fee rather than repeatedly soliciting guests for gratuities. This experience left a negative impression and affected an otherwise enjoyable outing. I hope management addresses how parking attendants interact with customers, because experiences like this can reflect poorly on the business and discourage repeat visits.

5/5 stars! I recently had the pleasure of hosting my graduation dinner at SALT Bar & Table, and it was truly the best experience I've had at any restaurant. From the moment I booked the event, Steven was exceptional. He was very attentive and responsive, even months prior to the event, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. When Steven had an unexpected emergency and couldn't be there on the night of the event, he kept me informed and introduced me to his team members who would be handling my event. This level of communication and professionalism was impressive. Christine and Dan did not miss a beat! The restaurant was extremely accommodating to my requests, and the waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable throughout the evening. But the real highlight was the food - it was amazing! The atmosphere at SALT Bar & Table is an overall vibe! I would highly recommend SALT Bar and Table to anyone looking for a special occasion or just a great night out. I tried Salt for the first time last week & it was amazing. Definitely one of the best Whiskeys sours i've ever had, the Salt Sour. They put a little bit of amaretto in there and I loved it!! I also tried the fries with crab meat, oysters, and edamame eggrolls & I know i'll have a hard time deciding whether to re order them or try something new next time i come because they were all amazing! Wow! I was not expecting to walk into possibly the most classy restaurant on the island. Yes, there are more expensive or more nautical spots but Salt has been tastefully remodeled and the food was as good as any I've been to. It's very clean and my germaphobe wife was very pleased. I had the flank steak with truffle fries and the steak was perfectly marinated, seasoned, and cooked. The bar is beautiful also, as is the outside seating under lights and palm trees. Parking is limited as are most island restaurants but they have free valet parking. We'll be back. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant! I have already been three times and they just opened! The decor and atmosphere create a great ambiance. Really love the outdoor area as well. Food is incredible! Some of my favorites are the fish tacos, tuna and clam chowder. They also have a great drink menu. Hands down the best place to eat on Anna Maria Island! Do yourself a favor and try it. I stumbled upon this place just driving around on the island. I didn't realize it had just opened. I was instantly amazed when I walked in and saw the decor. The place feels like something you would see in LA or Miami. The food was fantastic and service didn't disappoint. Don't miss out visiting this freshly updated restaurant when visiting AMI! My friend and I enjoyed sharing the grazing board with a couple drinks after work. (I'm still dreaming about their Salt Sour...) I absolutely love the exquisite design choices from the mosaic tile floors to the teal and gold bar stools! Great addition to Anna Maria Island. Friendly staff, amazing food and cocktails. We had the fresh catch salmon special with ginger and soy. Cooked to a perfect medium and served with rice and veggies. Ended our dinner with a coconut and pineapple cheesecake. YUM. Atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Burger: this was my favorite, it was cooked perfectly medium rare and the fries were really good. Baby back Ribs: the sauce was pretty sweet, it was the same one as the calamari, and also the same exact salad as the calamari, disappointed to see my entre was the same exact dish as the calamari but the sauce was on the ribs as well as the salad. It is more like an appetizer to be honest. Fried chicken: they were out of the chicken wings so they offered to use fried chicken breasts instead. The chicken itself was so dry and it had no flavor at all. Really disappointing. Nobu style sablefish: this was the only dish we really enjoyed, it was flavorful and nicely cooked. Would recommend this one Lobster mac and cheese: this one was okay, not a bad dish but needed more salt and felt a bit bland Basque cheesecake: another really disappointing dish, it tasted store bought and just thrown in the plate. Also disappointed that it claimed to be basque cheesecake but it was just a regular cheesecake so why call it basque Also worth noting that they were out of most of the dishes we originally wanted to order so we had to order something else. Get there early. The service was great, our server noticed we didn't like the cheesecake and took it off the check which I appreciated. I would come to this restaurant again but note that the food itself is not that most thought out and flavorful, the place relies on its physical presentation.

We started with the Lobstercargots -- chunks of lobster baked in herbed garlic butter and served with fresh-baked focaccia for dipping. Forget escargot; this is the way to do it. The bread soaking up that garlic butter might have been worth the trip by itself. The Bistro Blue Tomato Soup was fantastic. Rich, smooth and full of flavor, with the signature syringe of Grey Goose. "Goose the soup!" Great presentation and even better soup. For the main course, the Famous Bistro Bouillabaisse was outstanding. Lobster tail, Gulf shrimp, grouper, mussels and clams in a saffron tomato broth, with more fresh-baked bread for dipping. Beautiful dish and absolutely delicious. And then there's the Street Corn Named Desire cocktail made with butter-washed tequila. What a drink! The atmosphere is cozy, unique, and a little unexpected--exactly the kind of place I love finding while traveling. Definitely worth an "appointment" if you're on Anna Maria Island.
