What a absolutely fantastic meal! We were told about Salt by a random person we were talking to and were so happy with the recommendation and we are here to support and continue to recommend it! Fantastic really creative appetizers, we ending up munching on 5 and split everything and it made for such a fun date night. If you see the scallops special with parsnips order it! It was one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. The crabcakes were light and packed with flavor and we were happy with all our choices. The food was good, but uninspired. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. It took almost 30 minutes from the time we were seated to get a drink order in. It took almost another hour to get our entrees. The explanation was that the restaurant has a very small kitchen. The restaurant is very loud as well - it was difficult to hold a conversation at normal volumes. For the prices, I would have expected better service and more creative dishes. read more

We ordered several apps including the ahi (seared) with watermelon...AMAZING, the charcuterie board....DELICIOUS, and the burrata salad with grilled pears....OMG! Then, my group the grouper with a lemon butter caper sauce....MIND BLOWING, eggplant lasagna....DIVINE, and the gourmet burger....I don't eat meat, but, I am told it was AWESOME! The service was impeccable. The ambience was lovely. Overall, it was just wonderful! The only thing I have to say is that it isn't inexpensive. But, food as good as this deserves to be well paid for. My family and I have been to Anna Maria and the surrounding area several times. This last time we went, we decided to go to Salt. I can say that I 100% don't regret that decision. I'm from New England, so I'm used to fresh seafood. Food was fresh and delicious. We had the special (octopus) which was tender and cooked perfectly. Drinks are also amazing. My mother & I had a quick bite during happy hour (3:30-5). We were greeted kindly & sat quickly. The interior was absolutely gorgeous, dark ambiance. Maybe had a 20's look to it. We decided to sit outside before the sun has gone. It was a tab chilly but they sweetly offered a blanket & heaters if needed. We ordered from the happy hour menu; HOMEMADE tater tots, they were topped with crab & SO GOOD. The fish & chips, grouper! & house cut fries Those would have been enough but I couldn't help but order the Gnocchi & Medallions off the main menu. I've walked and driven past this place so many times and never stopped in. Luckily, rented a house right next to it and finally decided we needed some cocktails. Then might as well try a couple thing. The caprese salad was so good and pesto was some of the best. I was happy they had west coast oysters and were served with all the right fixings! Pros: Beautiful space inside and great back courtyard. Best Brussels sprouts I've had in months. Good variety on the menu, enjoyed fish tacos & edamame dumplings. Cons: Absurdly slow service, totaled 2 1/2 hours for a table of 3 to have dinner, with long 15-20 minute periods with no sign of our waiter. $19 cocktails is highest I've seen in the area (even more than the spectacular Doctor's office that can command that price). Wife's burger was $25 and lackluster. Draft beer on the menu but not available. All in all, I'll try again in a few months and hope that service improves, stick to beer & avoid the burger. read more

The staff were so welcoming and nice to us even though I know it can get chaotic with children and a big group. They were super attentive and treated us amazing. The restaurant was a great choice for a bday dinner. I loved the vibes and ambiance inside , it was super funky. The food was great as well. I have lived on Anna Maria for many years and have tried pretty much everyplace on the island at one time or another. This place is wonderful and ranks in my top three places for great handmade cocktails and great food. While it is true they have had some growing pains and in the current economy and staffing shortages WHO hasn't! They have fixed the problems and are very attentive to their customers. The manager is not only a total pro ... he is one great and knowledgeable bartender. You can tell he has grown up in the business. If you want a quiet, charming, classy drink and some dinner this is a place you should put on your list. If you are a Bourbon drinker try the house infused bourbon (not gonna give away the details). First time here since the change from Sharkey's. Very nice inside with bright decor in a rather small place. This made for a lively and loud dining experience. Our server, Carrie, was very nice and attentive. We had the fish tacos and the burger. Both were good and portioned well. The downsides... NO Parking, valet is about it. Prices, even for the island are a little steep. 20 bucks for a burger. 20 bucks for a cocktail?! Its a nice place, but I can't justify the prices for the location. read more

Though our reservation was mistakenly cancelled, the staff accommodated us. Everyone was pleasantly delighted with the food--we shared crab cakes, shrimp, salmon/watermelon (seriously fantastic), eggplant lasagna. Chef has amazing instinct for flavor combinations. All of the food was perfectly prepared and delicious! Outside seating was comfortable and charming--speakers allowed us to hear the guitar player, who was inside. What a fantastic time! Disappointed with our first visit to Salt. The food was tasty but extremely overpriced for the portion size. Portions were tiny. Nothing less satisfying than spending $50 for an entree to walk away still hungry. No initial bread/butter for the table.
