We ate here previously and it was very busy due to college graduations. Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and it was terrible. The manager looked at it and credited the meal. There was a really small piece of steak and the rest was breading. We decided to try it again and it was still not good. This time the steak was good but the breading fell completely of the meat when you cut it. Due to this you do not get the taste of the gravy and breading with the steak. Terrible just terrible. They sat us at a table and forgot about us. We were waiting for 45mins-1 hour before a server (not the one assigned to our table) noticed no one took our order. When our food finally came out the waitress handed me my plate by reaching across the table. As I went to take the plate she said "be careful the plate is hot". Why wouldn't you just place the plate in front of me if it too hot? They also gave us another customer's credit card. We had a terrible meal here. Three adults (2 rib eyes and one T-bone). The meat was grisly and very poor quality. The seasoning was good and the sides were great but the meat was terrible. It's difficult to disguise cheap, poor quality meat. The service was very slow and the meals were barely warm when we received them. For 3 meals and 3 teas (nothing extra other than a baked potato instead of fries), the meal was $103.71. This is a fair price for a good meal but we didn't get that. Took my husband there for Father's Day with our daughter. It was our first time there and we will be back. Everything we got was delicious. My husband got the prime rib I got the chop steak with grilled onions and mushrooms and sweet potato fries. Atmosphere and staff are top notch. Really great steak and fried shrimp for a steak house restaurant in Cypress. Very popular. The waiters are very attentive and so is management. I always ask to be seated in Austin Ritch's section as I like house courteous and attentive he is to my husband and me. I haven't been to a Saltgrass in years but the Cypress location is very convenient. This afternoon I had the blackened fish with 2 side veggies. The fish/sauce was very flavorful however the fish was a bit tough. Very generous with the steamed broccoli, steamed perfectly. Our waitress Tammy was very excellent. She was friendly, helpful and found answers to my questions when she couldn't answer them. I love that!!! Thank you. The manager (I assume) stopped by the table to see how we liked our meal. Nice touch. Good choice to consider for lent as I might give them a try. Maybe it was just a bad day for that fish. read more

Went there last Saturday for dinner. It was our first time at this location. We were seated right away which was a surprise for a Saturday. Anthony was our server for the night. He took our order right away but then it all went down hill from there. When our meal came out, mine was the wrong order so it had to be sent back. My hubby's steak and shrimp were luke warm and his 10oz ribeye was smaller than my 6oz fillet which came 10 minutes later. Anthony never came around to give us refills, more bread or even a chance to complain. After tip our meal was almost a hundred dollars for the two of us. By the time we were finished the place was crazy busy and we just wanted to get the hell out of there. On the way out, I asked the hostess for the managers number so I could call him once we got home. I talked to Michael (manager) about our experience, and instead of apologizing or at least giving me some excuse for the crappy service and meal, he began to reprimand me for waiting till I got home to complain. All I wanted was an apology but instead he belittled me and talked down to me as if I was the problem. POOR POOR customer service MICHAEL! Point of the story folks, don't waste your time or money by going to this place. What a joke the whole experience was. read more

Greeted at the door by a really friendly host & hostess. Seated immediately. Barely sat down until another really happy staff member was taking our drink order. As that one left another showed up, just as happy as the previous three, to introduce themselves as our server. At this point I'm completely impressed at the amazing attitudes and efficiency of their customer experience. I worked retail for 25 years, so customer service is king in my opinion. This location did not disappoint. In fact, it may be one of the best I've experienced in..... Maybe ever! There was a small mix up on our order... But the finesse in which the whole dining experience from beginning to end was so superb, it's irrelevant. Two managers came by to offer their apologies. They adjusted our bill even though we never even complained about it. They took the time to notice my husband didn't eat much of his food since it was undercooked. He even insisted it was fine, but they refused to let us pay for his meal. This was the most customer satisfaction driven staff & management I've have ever encountered. It was like everyone had a role to play & the executed their part with grace and efficiency. BRAVO! Our drinks were always full, we never had to ask for anything, it was like they anticipated our every need before we needed it, and the execution was perfectly timed. I'm rarely this impressed. But in this case, I'd give 10 stars if I could. See you guys again REALLY soon. read more

Saltgrass has become a middle of the road steakhouse. It's definitely not bad but, it's just not that memorable. Seems to me the prices are up a bit service is down a little bit and you left with this feeling of why did we come here again? I remember having one of the best steaks I have ever had at a restaurant with Saltgrass. I ordered a cowboy ribeye in Lake Charles that, was one of the best steaks I have ever had. So good I remember it years later. I ordered the same thing at this one last night. It was just so so. Cooked medium rare, which is what I wanted. I don't know if they changed the marinade or the rub or what. It was good but, that's it. Not anything special. I would have given one more star if the service was on point but, it wasn't. It was just ok too. Rushing us at times then gone no were to be found at others. With all this my wife ordered grilled chicken that was like rubber and still red in the center. For sure an upset stomach had she ate it. We sent it back and she just got chicken strips. If you can't grill chicken you have some problems. To me Saltgrass has become too much of the chain it's attached to. I always thought of Saltgrass as a step above even though it's a chain restaurant. It did well and was my go to steakhouse. Not anymore. It is the little things that put places a cut above. Saltgrass has lost that and become just another place. I wish someone that understood getting it to the next level would get hired on at Landry's corporate. They have forgotten what the next level takes. read more

As we attended a company dinner tonight for our staff member we had the worse service. Peoples orders were not brought out, drinks were not refilled, waitress took forever coming around, as we asked for plates to celebrate a passing out the cake they didnt bring us forks....the service here is horrible as the food is always good at salt grass they need better managment and training. read more

I'll give it 2 stars. I HAVE experienced way better. 3 of us went there for the first time last night and all 3 ordered the T-bone. ALL 3 steaks were pretty much refrigerator cold when served. Mine tasted badly of "refrigerator" on one side. Salads were quite small and to be charged almost 3 bucks to substitute asparagus for a side and get 5 STALKS OF ASPARAGUS was pretty indecent of them. Hugely disappointed since this IS a steak house. You'd think they know to have the steaks at room temperature to cook them. And how does a T-bone get cut at LESS THAN A HALF AN INCH anyway? It was way too thin. Save your money, go buy some steaks at nearby Randalls, a grill, some charcoal, some beer, some wine, and still have plenty of money left over after a 125.00 bill for 3 people. read more

We ate here during Graduation weekend. Due to the amount of traffic going to and from colleges along the 290 route, every restaurant gave us a two hour wait for 7 people. I walked into Saltgrass and asked for the wait time and they replied "45 minutes". Cool beans. We put our names down and we're seated in 15 minutes. Our waiter was awesome and enthusiastic to serve. The food was delicious and we all went home with full bellies and hearts full of pride for the graduate! read more

A great restaurant addition to the area as there weren't any steak houses. Salt Grass brings their consistently good food and great service. I typically am by myself and like to eat at the bar. My family really loves going to Saltgrass. The bread is amazing! Portions are generous, and the atmosphere is fun. I highly recommend doing the Landry's club. It gets you discounts and priority seating, which really helps my family of 5 get a table on busy nights. Only thing keeping me from awarding a 5 star review is the inconsistency I've seen on steaks. I am a strict medium well person. I am not comfortable sending an order back to throw it on the grill for another minute or two, so it is bad news if my steak comes out really pink. Last evening My fiancee and I stopped by to have dinner before a movie. We both ordered prime rib. She ordered the 12 oz. and I ordered the 16oz. Prior to ordering I ask the waitress to check with the kitchen and see if the prime rib was very fatty for the evening. She assured me it was not so we placed our drink and food orders. When our food arrived I we noticed that both prim ribs were the same size and that mine was mostly fat. We asked for a manager and John came over to our table. I ask john if he would eat what was on my plate. He admitted that no he would'nt. John was very helpful and offered us anything to make it right. We thanked him and told him that we were out of time because our movie was about to start. When I recieved my bill I was surprised to see that my charges included $2.95 for my tea, $9.99 for range rattlers that I was to eat with my meal. Not to mention that my date would not eat her meal because of our experiance. I asked for a manager again just on principle. This time Cecil Phillips came to our table. I honestly do not understand how this person could be the general manager of any service business. He was rude, arrogant and no help at all. He obviously was angry that we had troubled him on a busy night. I explained that I regularly dine at Saltgrass at Willowbrook and have not experianced the same problems. Cecil Phillip's parting comment?......wait for it........" same meat there...same meat here" It may have cost me $45.48 for nothing... but all in all it was worth the education. The Landry's name used to mean something to our family and friends but like a lot of other high growth companies something has been lost along the way. As soon as we arrived she looked bothered at the fact that we were getting seated in her section, she rolled her eyes and mouthed "no, why?" We are aware that closing time is 9:30 so we knew we had to make it quick, which we did. We arrived at 8:40 and were out of of there by 9:35. She only checked on us ONCE while we sat there with empty drinks, she was more concerned with chatting with her colleagues. She looked annoyed with us throughout the night. The staff is entirely responsible for this being a 5 instead of a 4. It is Christmas Eve and we were a party of 10. Thank goodness we had reservations. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter was there within minutes to take drink and appetizer orders. We ordered range rattlers (of course) and mushrooms for the table. The Shiner bread was delivered and devoured by the kids. Food was delicious for the most part. The Caesar salad dressing was bland and watery. Those of us who ordered it knew there was lots of food to come, so we didn't bother- we just didn't eat it. The other salad dressings were well received. One steak was undercooked and was promptly replaced with a new steak and fresh side. Everyone else's dinner was superb. I personally recommend the siracha honey chicken. It was yummy. The staff was very attentive to everything. They were quick to bring water and new drinks. Service was horrible. Our server was super sweet but the service was so bad. They were supposedly very busy but it looked like an average dinner service. We waited 10-15 minutes for sweet tea and the bread. Our appetizer arrived before the bread and drinks. Once we finished our bread and appetizer, we waited another 10-15 minutes for our food. At this point all we have on our table is sweet tea. When the food came it was delicious. We split the 16 oz ribeye with the Oscar topping. It also took a while to get the check.
