I absolutely loved this place. It's everything Texas should be. Now, mind you, this is tourist Texas so don't go looking for some mega smoked BBQ outside or anything. LOL We walked in and it was great. From the horseshoes embedded in the sidewalk to the saloon look and feel, this is definitely a MUST experience for any out of towners and even for some locals too. We walked in and sure enough, it was saloon and barn mixed together. The place was ample and the service was great. We started off with the famous bread they are known for and it was amazing. Definitely worth the hype!! After asking, our server gave us some good suggestions on the menu and that's what I went with. I got the Country Fried Steak with the best pepper gravy I've had....like ever. The best part of this dish was the flash friend beans. Now, we're going to pause there for a second b/c these beans were crunchy yet perfectly cooked. They had garlic, salt, pepper, soy (I think) and possibly some breading. These were so good that I have tried Googling copy cat recipes to replicate. I am not kidding. The other member of our part of two had the salmon and vegetables with a salad and, I don't even like salmon, but had to have a taste. Equally as delicious as my country fried steak. This place is quaint but I can see it having a huge lunch crowd and, I'd imagine, a great happy hour. I would repeat for sure to try other items on the menu. There's plenty to choose from for sure. Go and enjoy a little bit of Texas!

If I could split my review and give 5 stars to Mia our server and front of the house 0 stars I would. Mia our server made up for the fact that we waited to sit for 45 minutes!! We had a reservation for 5:30 on a Saturday for 7, we arrived at 5:25pm... and then proceeded to wait 45 minutes til we actually sat down. After about 35 minutes, and asking several times of what was going on- a brand new hired employee got my 4 kids drinks while we waited. We had to eat snacks I had in my bag because my kids were starving. After sitting down, Mia helped us out and did her best to make up for our first terrible 45 minutes. We did have our appetizers covered but it still does not make we want to go back to this location. All & all- thank you to our server Mia!

Start off its decor is like a upscale road house at about a 35% mark up for same steaks that said our server was nice and attentive the steaks were good and done properly and the Brussels sprouts were good as was the onion sticks the only down side was a constant upsale on everything including $25.00 to join the Landry club

Came here for my sister's birthday with the family. We had reservations and were seated right on time by the friendly greeter, and that set the night out on a great note. The ambiance is pretty much the same at every Saltgrass you can visit. Typical Texas steakhouse. Mounted cattle heads on the wall along with photos of of Texas' past and a few photos of Texas' contemporary like George Strait. Our food was pretty good. We had several appetizers, like Fried Onions, Fried Pickles and Peppers, and Fried Mozzarella. That is in addition to the fresh baked bread they serve. My main course was Grilled Salmon with Asparagus. Both were really good, though my Salmon was slightly overcooked. The Service was really good, probably the best part of the experience. Our server did an outstanding job and really made the experience a very good one.

We haven't been to Saltgrass in a while so for our last evening in Texas, we decided to check it out. The bread is still awesome, warm and yummy with butter. For about $25, you get an 8 oz steak with your choice of sides, this is still a great value considering price increases we've seen due to inflation. Our server Cayden?? was awesome as well. He kept the refills going with bread and our drinks. Would definitely come back here again. Good meal, great service for a good price.

The only two things I remembered from this place was that the food was salty, my husband also commented that on his food--and he likes salt! Second, with my daughter and her many food allergies, we decided to go with plain chicken wings. They mentioned the seasoning was just salt and pepper. My daughter mentioned it being spicy so I tasted it and yes there was seasoning other than salt and pepper. I was very annoyed because she's allergic to gluten and some seasonings contain gluten. I notified the waiter and assumed we were getting a new order. BIG NOPE! What they did was RINSE the chicken and reheated it. How do I know this? Prior to sending it back, I cut a flat of the chicken wings in half for my daughter. When we got the "new" wings, the cut up flat was still on the plate. I was so shocked. Never seen that in a restaurant. At this point, we were all pretty much done with our meals and a storm was brewing so we just wanted to get out of there. I will not come back.

Betty waited on our table. She had such good energy and was super knowledgeable about the menu. I'd like to come back and request her specifically. I'm not in this area of Dallas often, but I will make it a point to come back. I forgot to mention my cocktail! I had the Honey Bourbon Limoncello and boy was it good. I'm a lightweight so I couldn't try any of the other cocktails but their cocktails all look delicious!

My friends took me here for my 60th birthday!! Outside of the perfect steaks and stellar service (a great big thank you to Brad our amazing waiter), the music stole the show!! They have this insanely talented musician who performs Friday and Saturday nights starting at 6:30 PM .. he literally has his stage on a landing pad halfway up the staircase with his own little music kingdom. One guy. Several instruments. Electric guitar and saxophone were played effortlessly. You can make requests, which adds to the fun! For example, "Sweet Caroline" was a song that everyone sang along throughout the restaurant lol. Then came something I didn't expect. This musician has made it his personal mission to play our National Anthem on Fridays and Saturdays 7pm sharp. Everyone naturally stood -up, the whole room joined in, hand over their hearts, so much patriotic passion and energy. It was truly beautiful to see people come together in that moment. And just when I thought the night couldn't get better, out came a birthday dessert .. a warm homemade cookie with ice cream and a real sparkler. It was a show stopper!! I haven't seen a sparkler since I was ten lol. Apparently, birthdays are a big deal here, because it felt like every table around us had their own sparkler birthday/ anniversary moment. It was hilarious ... and I loved it! If you're looking for a memorable experience or just a relaxing delicious meal, nothing compares to Texas y'all. TIP: they have valet parking! It was my first trip to downtown Plano which is a nice quaint strip of bars, restaurants, and shops that reminded me of any of the small one/two stop light towns around my home of NC, even though you're really surrounded by metro Dallas highways and city. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was perfection. I'll do my best to describe, but if I was creating a restaurant, I'd tell you to go here, and that is what I want. The restaurant itself is very nice, certainly upscale enough for a super nice date night, but also casual enough at lunch time for a business casual outfit. The area itself is relatively small and intimate, I'm going to guess 10 or less tables, and a spot for a few people at a small bar. Right beside the bar is the grill where you can see, hear, and smell the food being cooked! The owner was our waiter, and just like the rest, service was plenty formal yet also laid back. He did everything how you'd expect in a fine dining restaurant, but also was comfortable in a baseball cap and laid back fine with having a conversation. He was happy to tell us about the restaurant itself, the interior which he built out himself, and was enthusiastic about what he was serving and told us everything about the meat and sides. It was great seeing someone so proud and excited to tell his costumers about every aspect of it. He alone would make me want to be a regular visitor. But then there is the food! Perfection! All four of us ordered the Wagyu NY Strip, so he just told us he would serve it on a board with plenty of sides to fill us up. We didn't even have to tell him how we wanted the steak cooked, he said everything was cooked to 135 and it came out absolutely perfectly! Quality tasty meat, true wood flavor, it was what I normally have to cook myself at home to get! The sides were great as well, charred broccoli (which I'm a sucker for, marbles potatoes, fries, all wonderful! The menu is not huge, but I think that's perfect. Do what you do well and you don't need a multi page menu full of random dishes. BAR-Ranch knows what they are and they excel at it! It's not cheap, but personally I'd rather have one meal of exceptional quality over multiple cheaper meals that leave me feeling "meh that was fine". Personally I'll be back and can't wait for another opportunity to try it!
