I was having lunch at Saltgrass Steak House while visiting my father and sister in the Round Rock/ Cedar Park area of Texas. When I come out to Texas, Saltgrass is the one place I ALWAYS want to eat. The dish I like to order is not on the menu, but they are always happy to oblige. I get a caesar salad with nice plump grilled shrimp and it is simply awesome. Plus, the bread is always a treat. But, what made this last visit (March 23rd) so special was our server. Her name was Kelcie, and she truly made our lunch a very special one. Not only was she attentive to all of our needs, but her attitude was outstanding. She was so cheerful and kind! Thank you so much, Kelcie, for making our meal such a pleasurable one. I also want to thank one of the managers, Jacey, for helping us out at the end of our meal. The management Brittany strange was extremely busy but made a point several times to ask us how we were doing I was amazed to see her multitask. You could tell all the staff respected her, and she made a point to make sure everybody was greeted and satisfied. This was my husband's and mine 1st time at a Saltgrass, we first talked to Brian. Brian greeted us with a smile and made a lot of eye contact with us. Candice was our server she welcomed us with smile and had patience with us, with so much on the menu to decide what to drink! We ordered a Bone in Ribeye and it was huge and delicious! We usually love this place, but not tonight. We went on a Thursday after around 4:30. It wasn't crowded. We waited for at least 10 minutes for a server to even come to our table. I ordered an Old Fashioned and could barely taste any alcohol. It was literally 3 sips of a drink and was $14. The stalls were out of toilet paper in the bathroom. Our drinks were not refilled. As we were leaving, there were about 5 staff members talking at the front stand and no one even looked up and said anything. We are Laundrey's members. No manager came to our table. Heather was our server and she was AWESOME! When we made the reservation, we requested to be seated in a "quiet" area due to one of our family members having sensory issues. We were seated in a small party room and ended up having the room to ourselves! One of our steaks was sent back but we were cooked a different steak with no further issue. The food, 6oz filet, baked potato with everything, Ceasar salad, bread, iced tea, was perfectly prepared. But the service was far above excellent. Embarrassed to admit i forgot my wallet. The manager offered to hold my phone as collateral until I was able to return with a card to pay. I said I can give you my card info. She said we have text-to-pay. Took my phone number and soon after I received a text allowing me to enter my info to pay my tab and 20% tip. I also added cash to double the tip. Very embarrassed but very grateful. read more

This is a wonderful, comfortable Saltgrass location with consistently excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We always start wuth the steaming hot and flavorful fried mushrooms. I love the Maudeen's filet mignon, cooked Pittsburg, cruspy on the outsude, with a side of fried onions or sautéed Brussel sprouts, and salad. We went to an investment seminar that was overbooked so I had to forage on my own. The restaurant was very busy on a Thursday night. The staff were friendly but slightly overwhelmed. My vegetarian friend found little on the menu that she could eat but I was already in the mood for steak. I ordered a wedge salad and the New York Strip with grilled shrimp. She ordered a house salad and a vegetable plate. Most items that you would think were vegetarian friendly were not according to the servers. The baked potatoes (something about bacon fat on the outside) and Mac and cheese were off limits. So she opted for green beans, broccoli and sweet potato fries. Her food was cold when it arrived. The wedge has a vinaigrette dressing with blue crumbles. I would have preferred blue cheese dressing. The shrimp were very tasty. The steak was outstanding, topped with butter and cooked to perfection. Medium rare. Very flavorful throughout every bite. Great food for meat lovers not the best for veggie friends! read more

No silverware(requested) no sauces requested no bacon (allergy) &no chives (preference) on baked potato. received extra og both. steak rare (had to cook will medium to medium well for kids to eat). no bread - that's a new corporate policy that needs rethinking. Excellent food and service and having a fabulous gluten free menu was a huge plus for our party. Heather provided great service and was very nice and pleasant throughout our meal. GF Rattlers are exceptional as they are grilled and the chopped steak with cognac sauce was really good! The Salmon Oscar is an incredible dish in taste and presentation. Saltgrass has some of the best service you're going to find for a steakhouse. The seafood on the menu is also very good and that's typically what we go with if we want something different. Some of my favorites are Gulf Coast steak and shrimp, blackened redfish, steak and shrimp platter... And for cocktails sometimes I start out with the shrimp cocktail as my got to. Did you have some good desserts and I also like the cheesecake. Besides the excellent service one of the things that I like the most is the design of the exterior of the building and the inter detailing with the Western feel. This makes a place special. It's cozy in some places and very open in other places. Lots of different types of space. We love the Texas flags everywhere as well as the cowboy antiques. We frequent this Saltgrass a lot, every time we come the service has been great. Our son was in town and we wanted to take him, he loved it. Kaylee was our server and she was very pleasant and smiled. She got our order right and checked on us during our meal. The steaks were great and cooked exactly like we ordered them. What I really love about this location is the friendliness of the employees, they help each other by cleaning off tables as they are walking by if they see something that is ready to go back to the kitchen. While we were there the Manager on duty, Brittany stopped by and made sure everything was great. This place serves one of my most favorite salads. The restaurant is always clean. If you want a good place to eat with a great atmosphere where you feel like you are valued as a customer, you will want to come here. Bella was exceptional on our last visit. She informed us of the early bird specials, timed our appetizers, drinks and meals seamlessly while pleasantly engaging in conversation though she was busy. The house red wine was delicious as well as the fried mushrooms and our meat was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was amazing, super sweet and attentive. Once we were sat it took her 20 minutes to come to us which isn't her fault there was some miscommunication. Our biggest issue was the atmosphere. There were servers around us complaining about customers not tipping them and this particular server said "I didn't know they were my table so I ignored them for 15 minutes so their service wasn't good but they didn't tip me." That was wild. And then he was also talking to other customers about it. It was wild. I've been a server I get it it's frustrating but that is really unacceptable. Overall it was nice but I think the bosses need to train employees to scream in the walk in like every other service worker. read more

Had to postpone our family dinner due to a death in family. Rescheduled for 01/02 (a Thursday). Staff was very accommodating switching our reservation for 14 diners. We arrived just before our 5 pm time and was quickly seated in their front room. Jonathan was our sole server and was very efficient; he knew his menu and offered suggestions for our mixed group (mostly adults and some teens). Apps and beverages came out in a timely fashion and were enjoyed by all (really liked the crab cakes). Jonathan was also serving other tables and at times we had the managers come by to check on us and refresh our drinks. Our main meals had been varied: prime rib, steaks, salmon, salads and burgers. All came out together and served hot. All steaks ordered to our varied styles (prime rib med rare, other steak options medium and so on). Spent over three hours catching up with family and never felt rushed to get out and clear up tables for a flip. Great experience. Will make this a regular stop for us when in the area. read more

A solid 2 Stars. One star for seating us precisely at our reservation time and another for our server who was slammed but provided excellent service. Our two-star experience began with our cocktails. Our martinis were probably the worst ones we have ever had. My straight up very dry martini arrived warm and yellow (dirty). Plus One's arrived warm and looked like pickle juice. Our friend ordered a bloody Mary and it was on a scale of 1 - 10 spicy at a 9. Plus there were these gross bacon strips in the drink. A remake produced a bloody mary that tasted like tomato juice sans alcohol. My salad consisted of a small plate of lettuce some carrot strips and an abundance of croutons and zero tomatoes. Obviously this salad came out of a bag. Onto our entrees and it gets better - not. My medium rare steak arrived medium well and Plus One's was 40 percent fat. In my defense, I did not choose this restaurant friends who live nearby made the reservations. Lesson learned..... read more

I've eaten from here twice. Once for take out and more recently for dine in. The take out experience was good I did curbside pick up. My order came on time and the whole process was very seamless. My food was good and we'll spaced in its own section in the food containers as opposed to the food being thrown together. I had ordered steak, ribs, and shrimp, which were all very good. My dining experience was good as well. The wait time was shorter than expected on a busy Saturday night. I ordered half a rack of ribs, with fried shrimp, macrorini and cheese and a line mojito. The ribs were delxiiy well flavored with barbecue sauce and very tender so much in such the near fell off of the bone. The fried shrimps were cooked just right and very tasty and the mac and cheese was decent. I thought the flavor of the mac and cheese eaw was a bit bland. Salt grass is great affordable steak house with a varied menu. I recommend giving it a try. read more

I dont know.whats the going rate for biting down on plastic you find in a potato? Maybe Comp my meal? Comp part of it? Pretend you care that I bit down on a chunk of plastic in my potato.
