Great quality with good flavors. Menu is broken up by food groups rather than courses which makes sense since everything is a la carte, but a bit confusing to have a veggie section between meats and seafood. Luckily, we had a great waitress to guide us through. Salt's Chopped Radicchio Summer Sausage Salad - between the acid in the dressing and the salt from the sausage, it was a bit strong on the salt side for me. However, my date loved it. Flat Iron Steaks - 8 oz. We ordered medium rare, but it was more medium (which my date preferred). The steak was delicious and came with fried onions, a red wine reduction, and I believe a bearnaise sauce. Solid. Pork Loin wrapped in bacon - 6 oz. A great mix of flavors... a bit citrus. A small portion for a guy's entre, but I would definitely order again. Potato Dumplings - fluffier than any gnocchi or gnudi I've had at Italian restaurants. Roasted beets - very good Date brownie - very good Grapefruit pie - like a key lime, but with grapefruit. Also very good My date had a chichi vodka cocktail which he said was very good. Sometimes, it's not what goes right with a dining experience that makes a difference, it's how management handles the fallout of what goes wrong. The first time I ate here, I was astonished - incredulous, in fact- when I looked down to discovered my half eaten dish of Duck Leg and Oatcake had been whisked away, without warning, while I was in the middle of a conversation. I didn't want to make too big of a scene out of courtesy to my companions and other diners, so I accepted a comped glass of wine, and closed out the bill... However, I was still hungry and that Duck entree, with a fruity compote, was one of the best meals I've tasted, so I resorted to the only recourse I felt I had, by ravaging them on Yelp. The proprietor's response was quick and compassionate, so my return visit was as wonderful as I'd hoped for originally. Once again, The Duck- as flavorful and creative as before: the rustic tooth of the oatcake complementing the savory juiciness of the meat perfectly. Honestly, I've never understood the allure of Chicken and Waffles, since it's just too much breaded, fried gooey carbo mash, but this duck dish made me realize how sublime the right combination of animal flesh and bakery product can be. And the octopus appetizer was a winner as well: perfectly charred on the outside, with a supple core that was as tasty as lobster (lawbstah), without the gummy, rubbery essence that seems to find its way into other Cephalopoda I've bitten into. I can't complain about any aspect of my experience here but I assure you, if something isn't right, let them know, and you will most likely be "made whole", which is what any top notch eatery would do. A varied, creative menu, that offers something for every kind of taste, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Salt's Cure to anyone. read more

My husband and I LOVE this restaurant. From Zach , one of the owners to Derdra, Saso, & Detrich a few of the excellent wait staff it is a fun, cool, hip environment. The food is of the freshest and highest quality. The menu is inventive, creative, unusual and absolutely delicious. We go at least once a week. The wine list changes with the menu for perfect pairings. They have a patio that is dog friendly. Our dog gets his water before we do . The staff knows our names and we find the entire operation unique & charming. Brunch is served on weekends. The menu is lunch M-F. Dinner is fantastic. We take many of our European visitors here. The group I was with including myself were starving and every where we looked lines were out the door so when we saw this place with no line we were jumping out of the car before it stopped. We go it and order our food and it came out to 60 bucks for 4 people that got pancakes a green juice and one coffee!!! It was way over priced the pancakes are 10 bucks and you need to order bacon/Sausage or egg separate; absolutely ridiculous. The guys cooking all looked extremely bored and just stared at us while we ate. The pancakes were good, definitely not worth 10 bucks they were mushy. They weren't bad by any means I just probably wouldn't come back because of the prices. The bathrooms were gross. There was no toilet paper in one of the stalls and the place where the toilet paper should be was broken and one of the stall doors doesn't even open all the way because of the toilet and there not being enough room. Friday night dinner. One out of four tables was taken. There were many metered spaces available on the street, but , feeling bad for the guy, I valet parked. I started eating with my fork, the waiter asked: do you need a spoon??!!!! I smiled and said it would help, he went and brought a tea-spoon!!!! We all laughed and I asked if they had soup spoons?, he said I don't know, I'll look in the back!!!?? He did eventually come back with one, we had fun. I've been told it's a great place for breakfast/lunch. They should close at dinner and rest. Loved my food and service last night. We started off with a soft pretzel which was incredible. My husband and I both had the salmon. My husband was worried about how the salmon would taste because he had to modify it by removing the curry. It was the best salmon he'd ever ate. Loved it. We came here for dine L.A. last night for their prix fixe menu. The food was not disappointing: I had the chilled tomato soup with crab salad; roasted chicken with mini flapjacks; and chocolate mousse cake with marshmallow fluff, and my boyfriend had the spinach salad; sweet potato dumplings, and the same dessert. Kudos to the runner who always made sure we were doing okay, and clearing our plates promptly after we finished. Note to the waiter: fill the female's water glass before the male's at the table; ask us whether we ordered still or sparkling water before refilling it with sparkling (we asked for still); and wait until we're finished with dessert before giving us the tab. Anything less than that is tacky, and I'm sure a place like Salt's Cure would never want to be described as that. read more

Also, the griddle cakes are delicious but the only added sweetness is cinnamon butter (neither of which is sweet). The skinny white female waitress was excessively rude - when I asked for syrup she replied they didn't come with syrup and were fine as they are. She then said I didn't need it and WALKED AWAY. She didn't say another word or make eye contact after that. I had to tell myself that perhaps she had mental issues to calm myself down. We then spoke with another waiter (guy with a ponytail) who at least offered honey, which we accepted gratefully. My deal with my husband was that it was no tip or I cussed her out. Had brunch wit mom at this local spot and it was a good meal. I thought it was particularly clever how they infused their pancakes with oatmeal. Great way to make oatmeal more palatable. I also thought it was clever that they infused the butter with maple syrup thus eliminating the need to drench pancakes in excess syrup. The flavors were solid. Amazing quality food! I could tell it was fresh, and the pork chop was the best pork chop I've ever had. The cocktails were amazing too. From the outside it just looks like a hole in the wall spot on Highland, but inside has an intimate gas-lamp type atmosphere. Great for a date or to impress an important client. This use to be the best breakfast in LA when it was a tiny hole in the wall on Santa Monica Blvd. The owners would cook behind the counter the most delish brunch-- almost every weekend I would come. Recently, I have been to the new location twice.... the food lacked the different flavors and care it use to have. The sausage was different and didn't taste very good. The griddle cakes were not hot The eggs were not the special soft scramble they are known for. I miss the old salts cure!
