Reserved a table for 8 Christmas Eve for our family. 2 kids and 6 adults. The hostess that made the reservation over the phone was very polite and accommodating. We got to the restaurant at 5:20. 10 minutes before our arrival time and were greeted by 2 very nice hostess's that immediately seated us. Here's where the problem started. Our waitresses name was Caroline who seemed polite but she failed to check our orders and brought the food out in several different stages. A dinner salad was ordered for an 8 year old with NO tomatoes or olives with Ranch Dressing. The dinner salad came out first. It clearly had tomatoes and black olives on top. When Caroline came back 5 minutes later with an order of Flat Bread and 2 other entrees, we sent the salad back. When Caroline returned with the salad, the black olives were removed, the tomatoes were still there and the Ranch dressing was replaced with Cesar Dressing. The prawn dinner had came by then (10 minutes) and we are still waiting on 3 hamburgers that were simply order Med. Well. Nothing special. Straight off the menu. I flagged down our waitress to ask where our hamburgers were. She indicated she needed to check. She came back a few minutes later and advised us the burgers would be another 8/10 minutes. At this point, half of our dinner party was done eating. I went up to the hostess desk and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager who was very concerned with the service, apologized and offered to give us a few desserts. Advised the manager we had home made cakes at home. No thanks! The manager then offered to take the salad totally off the bill and discount 2 of the 3 hamburgers. I agreed and went back to our table. The hamburgers came shortly afterwards. The food was..... just, ok. My daughter left the Prawns on the table after taking a bite of one of the shrimp. The only thing that was really good was the Spinach & Artichoke Dip. The bill was $210.00, including a $30.00 gratuity. I was very disappointed with the food service but decided just to pay the bill. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded and I couldn't understand why the delivery of our food was so scattered. Also..... if you want bread you have to ASK FOR IT. Every one around us was served bread and when I asked about the bread, the waitress said, if you want bread, you have to ask for bread. WTH???? I'm done. Avoid this place! It pretends to be a steakhouse but it is not. I had the ribeye I ordered it rare it came out rare... actually it came out barely cooked at all. The waitress says because they cook on an open grill it's difficult to control the cooking times.(huh ??) It was so tough I had to chew on it like it was shoe leather stringy with lots of gristle. Sam Snead's was recommended by the folks at the Doubletree Hotel. They even offered a discount of $2.00 on the meal. I walked over and took a seat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and immediately hooked me up with a martini. The folks at the bar were also very friendly. Probably most of them were on the same cancelled flight as I was headed to Philly. Their menu is very good with a nice variety of foods available. I started out with the crab cake appetizer which was very well prepared with nice chunks of crabmeat. Very similar to Maryland crabcakes. For dinner, I went with the spicy shrimp flatbread. It wasn't that spicy and I realized later that I should have tried the other seafood flatbread or possibly the BBQ. Nice theme to the pub with lots of golf references. Went for our anniversary, the ambience was nice. We had a reservation so we were seated right away on a Friday at 5:30pm. They brought hot rolls and butter. I had fish and chips but I got mashed potatoes instead of fries. My husband had a wedge salad and chicken Marsala. The food was good. The host was friendly and sat us immediately--we barely missed the dinner rush. The waitress was sweet. She was kind enough to check if they had bottled water for me. The interior was cute. It reminds me of an Elks Lodge. I've never been to one, but I'm assuming this is what a manly Elks Lodge would look like haha. It has a cabinesque feel on the inside, filled with old golfing memorabilia (Sam Snead is a famous golfer), moose heads and mounted fish on the wall, and wood trimming throughout the restaurant. The restaurant is also near to the golf course surrounding a lake. On the menu, it says the bread and butter is available upon request--so make sure you ask for it if you want it. I wanted the lamb shank, but it wasn't available so I got the Mahi Mahi with yellow rice and sautéed spinach. I would pass on this. It's a mediocre dish. The Mahi Mahi was dry. I wasn't a fan of the flavor sautéed spinach. I think it may have been sautéed with minced garlic and tomato. I love garlic, but the flavor was just off for me. The yellow rice was fine. My husband got the filet mignon--medium, against my wishes, lol, but he wanted to see how their medium was like--with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I tried a thin slice of the middle of the filet and a bit of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were great. The filet mignon was good, but the flavor was not my favorite. I also noticed the filet was not evenly cooked. The top was more cooked and the middle and bottom were pink. I'm guessing this wasn't flipped evenly when cooking. Overall, the menu looked like it had some interesting dishes, and if I lived here, I would go back and give it another go. I would just pass on the Mahi Mahi. I went there for dinner. The ambiance is very nice. I ordered chicken and shrimp flatbread. My friend ordered pork chop with mashed potatoes. The shrimp had a good flavor. I didn't really enjoy the flatbread. I have eaten flatbread many times but this one was a little different. The crust was extra thin and the chicken was not good. I did not finish eating my food. My friend said her pork chop and mashed potatoes was delicious. She enjoyed every bite. She raved about it all evening. I will go back but next time I will order something different. read more

The bar is always busy but regardless, they make the best dirty martini IN THE AREA (seriously!) and have a variety of beer on tap! If you sit towards the bar the service is decent, at the bar is better... otherwise you will get stuck with an inexperienced, slow, server that makes you want to pull your hair out. We frequently go here due to the location near our golf course so I have the data to back up my observations. read more

Very disappointed The staff was friendly and we were seated quickly. Prime rib was on special so the husband ordered it. I was craving a ribeye. Prime Rib was cooked as ordered, but there was absolutely no flavor to it. I ordered my ribeye medium rare, it came out almost well done. I added two shrimp savannah to it, they were terrible. No flavor, and they were like rubber. (No joke, the texture was like a rubber fishing worm). Mashed red potatoes come with it, they had the consistency of putty. They were super thick and not edible. Since my last review of Sam Snead's it's been a year or so. Our good friends had just sold their home and wanted to take their friends out to celebrate. Knowing the problems we've had with them before we stayed away from their steaks. I ordered a cobb salad, and my ordered a salad with her naked salmon. Specifically asked for NO spices, including salt and pepper to on the salmon. My husband dual experience of having cold food worked out ordering a salad. The Cobb salad was actually very good. My wives salmon arrived well done with spices all over it!!!! The others in our party ordered flat bread, steaks, and ribs.. Every steak was cooked the way they liked, but were NOT HOT off the grill. One filet mignon was chewy and not what you'd expect from a "Steakhouse!" Strike 4. That's absolutely, positively, the last possible time we will ever be at this establishment. The service was attentive, the manager was more hands on than other managers that we've seen there in previous visits!!! So things changed just a little, but the food is still the same as a Waffle House! Sorry Waffle House, which is exactly 2 doors down!!!! read more
