Had dinner there last night. Party of four. We were seated right away, it was busy. However, my comment is going to reflect the waitress we had. We thought she was having a bad night, nope she was just rude to us. We were all manners, and We barely got a thank you back. She never once came back to check on us after she served our food, however the two tables around us were asked several times. She wouldnt even make eye contact. We will go back, the food is ok, we go because its so close to our house, butmseriously this waitress needsa nicer personality. We were nothing but kind and full of manners. We almost always head straight to the pub section where the staff is always friendly and welcoming and you're bound to make a new friend at the bar or one of the small, cozy tables The food is outstanding. I've never had a more consistent dining experience, whether enjoying any of the regular menu items or any of the great specials they offer. As a local, I can confirm that this IS where we go to get really good food. The pub pizza is a staple at our house Friday nights. I really enjoy treating myself to the fried clams. I miss Kelly's, and this is the closest I've come on the South Shore. I also enjoy their steak tips. I don't recommend the take-out (except pizza), though. The food just loses something in the plastic containers... The staff is absolutely fantastic and attentive. Very clean. read more

Satuit Tavern is one of our favorite restaurants. The staff is wonderful. The only area that needs improvement is their awful french fries. The Satuit Tavern has the best fried food on the South Shore but it is not complete because the fries are so bad. The steak tips, grilled shrimp and pizza are also great selections. Hopefully the Satuit will change their selection on the french fries. It cant be that difficult. read more

The pub pizzas are quite good. However, the place seems to be dirty. There is a bad smell that makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the place. Tried twice and it was still there the second time. You can get the same pizzas at Poopsie's in Pembroke. read more

My wife and I had lunch here 2 weeks ago. She had the baked scrod and I had the fish and chips. Really good meals!! We could have had seconds! While we order pretty much the same dishes when we visit this establishment, we have found that the taste and quality is inconsistent with every visit. Best Lobster Roll on the South Shore by far! There is so much meat in this roll it's ridiculous...and perfect because there is only just enough mayo to hold it together. Pricey but you get what you pay for...a DELICIOUS LOBSTER ROLL. Great ANY time of year. read more

My wife and I have been a couple of times to the Satuit Tavern and have been treated very well. The food is very good, fresh and tasty. The quantities are sufficient and the atmosphere is casual. This is our go to place for a great meal, at a great price and it is kid friendly! I usually get the lazy man lobster pie ($18.99 with two sides that go home with us); hubby usually gets an appetizer and a pizza and they have a kids menu for little man. They are known for their pub pizza and if they have scalloped potatoes for a side, get them. Everything is so good! All the staff is super nice and the service is always great. Be prepared to wait on a Friday and Saturday during dinner but it is worth the wait. Only downside is the bar is on the small side (where we used to wait before little man). read more

The food here is consistently awesome, particularly the pizza, the broccoli penne pasta with chicken and the fried clams. We've come here for years. The place is packed for a reason. My only criticism is with the interior. There is a really high cathedral-style roof and that acoustics are terrible. We always go for take-out! Great food - no atmosphere. read more

My wife and I just moved into the area and stumbled across this restaurant which is right down the street from us. This is the perfect neighborhood spot! The chowder is good, the steak tips are good, the seafood is very good and the bar pies are awesome! My favorite is the BBQ Chicken pizza. Also, if you like a good roast beef sandwhich this place is top notch. They have great nightly meal deals like $12 prime rib dinners. The place gets packed almost every night but their take-out is just as good. This place has quickly become one of our weekly staples! read more

The customer service from the take out desk at the Satuit Tavern restaurant is unacceptable. I ordered food on Saturday night (11-6), picked it up and unknowingly was short an item. When I called the tavern back after returning home. I was told, it was my fault for leaving it behind, and when I asked if they could make another. I was told NO! And this was from the acting manager. I think the manager forgot her manners! The tone of the manager (who did not want to give me her name) wasnt good! I must of hit them on an off night, but nobody has contacted me to apologize for the attitude! read more

Possibly the worst takeout service possible. The food is good, however sadly over the past 2 years 6 out of 8 times we have not got what we ordered. We have gotten the wrong items completely, forgot to put orders of chowder in etc. It became such a joke whenever we pick it up we always check the order and still find mistakes.....and yet once again tonight we order three pizzas and 2 salads and one of the pizzas was wrong...they said they'd fix it and take it off the bill however in doing so ended up giving is two wrong pizzas and one right one that were ice cold when we got home 5 minutes away. Let alone one salad that literally filled up 1/4 of the container. After non stop mistakes ruining nice evening dinners on the weekends we are done and most people we know agree the service has gone down hill unless you eat in the restaurant.....can't recommend this place...maybe ten years ago but. Not now. We were told last year or the year before by the staff to go on yelp because even the staff was fed up with the owners lack of hiring and didn't like the direction the place was going...we decided to keep ordering but did decrease orders unless it was pizza as the seafood was always messed up.......but am so sick of it now...thank god for the mill wharf as a better option!!!!!! read more

This cute little seafood restaurant in Scituate usually serves good food with a smile, but this past weekend we only got the smile. The food was subpar. I'm not sure if fried clams have a season, but these were the smallest I have ever had and absolutely no bellies as well as over cooked. Very disappointing as I was visiting from the south and this was my only chance for fried clams. The scallops were good. The lobster roll tasty, but small. Overall, disappointing. My advice to the owners - don't serve fried clams if you get a bad batch. Quality makes people come back. Not sure if I will ever be back because of this experience. read more

I want to say first this is NOT about FOOD or service in the dining room. This is about the bar side. It is a very busy bar especially on the weekends. No problem there I expect that. Now I have been going there for 4years I am a Cohasset native. The bartender on the weekendis is very efficient and knows her regulars. I myself have always tipped well and been overly friendly but she makes me feel like I am bothering her. And like I said been this way for the 4 years I have been going. My parents and I went a few weeks ago. My mom and I were discussing it today because we hated Schooner's in Hull so much and loved Satuit. Food was better in Satuit, but the atmosphere and service was WAY better in Satuit. Staff was very friendly even though they were really busy. I had the Broiled Seafood Platter, which was an insane amount of very tasty food. I want to go back to try other things (like the pizza), so hopefully next time I visit my mom, we'll come here. read more

But the food is...well if you thought Pier 44 was haute cuisine, then this is your place. Overdone fish. watery vegetables. Oversauced entrees. And the noise! The noise! This place has some of the best seafood on the south shore! To begin, the atmosphere here is very comfortable and unassuming. No, not a dump; clean but nothing memorable re: the interior. The menu has a decent amount of fresh seafood but also non-seafood options like clazones, pizza, burgers, club sandwiches, salads, ziti brocoli and chicken, etc. The menu is diverse enough to satisfy most parties. I typically get the broiled haddock with scalloped potatoes and veg. I have also gotten other entrees but always go back to their broiled white fish entrees (when in Rome...right?!)! The portions are huge and you will inevitably be bringing something home. The prices are very reasonable given the large portions and tasty fresh food. Drawback: the waitstaff can be slow, inattentive and not friendly. If I like the food enough like I do here, I don't care too much. My family just usually laughs it off. Bonus: if you like grapenut pudding, theirs is killer! If you love fresh seafood, this is a great spot as you get a lot of food for cheap! If you are looking for a fancy interior or warm and fuzzy waitstaff, this would not be the place for you! read more

Very poor experience here this evening. We ordered takeout so we could bring it down to beach to eat there. We ordered a lobster roll, an order of chicken tenders and a side of French fries. We were told our food would be ready in 15-20 minutes and were down there in that amount of time. By the time we got to the beach less than 5 minutes later and we opened the containers everything was soggy as if it had been sitting around for quite some time. The lobster roll priced at $17.99 had a soggy bun and was falling apart and the onion rings and fries that came with it were completely soggy with not an ounce of crispness to them. The chicken fingers were soggy and tiny, and for $8.99 without any sides should have included more than 6 tiny chicken fingers. The side of fries for $3.99 was nothing more than a giant 1lb box of soggy potatoes that tasted as if they were frozen and then microwaved. All in all very disappointing for what was meant to be a special meal. We won't be returning. read more
