I passed by this restaurant and wanted to try some Turkish food. The lamb chops were so well seasoned. The rice and salad were delish as well. I've gone back twice already. Easily a new favorite.

Traditionally huge fan of Selda. Everyone is really nice, great customer service although service can be a bit slow at times, and amazing food. The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor patio which are both beautifully designed. They usually bring complimentary bread and a sort of sour cream cheese which is truly amazing. I got their soup and Urfa Kebob that comes with rice as well as side bean salad. The flavors are just amazing. For dessert I got tea and tried out their Bakhlava as well as cake. The cake and the bakhlava were a bit sweet for me but it also tasted amazing. Overall great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant and its location.

I was a little disappointed in this place. Very pretty patio, and the bread was phenomenal! And the soup was tasty, the salad fresh. But gosh the mains were such a letdown. Overcooked and boring. Would just stick to the bread and apps if I ever return!

Such a cute place. The patio is fun and charming, a great date night spot. I ordered the lamb shank and it was so tender it fell off the bone. The bean salad is fresh and flavorful. The complimentary pita bread is. Try a pide, we got the meat one. Our server was very nice and service overall was fast. Didn't wait long for our food. Walked by the dessert fridge on our way out, and dang. Should have gotten the pistachio cheesecake. Next time!

Couldn't have been better, really. Love the casual atmosphere, while keeping the food and service top-notch. Allergens were clearly marked, food came out within minutes of being ordered, and everything just stood out as extremely flavorful of perfectly executed. Their desserts also looked amazing. I can see why they're doing so well, and have expanded to multiple other businesses and locations.

Lamb chop entree with rice and what was supposed to include a salad .

Lamb chops were bland and they forgot to include the salad that came with the order. The rice had flavor. They have several locations and this seemed to be a very busy spot. I am a firm believer in, "The first impression is the last impression."

Another 5-star experience for us. My kids beg to come to this restaurant every chance they get. Most of us are sold on the lamb chops but my husband gets the beef shish. I really do come for the Spicy Ezme while my kids are there for the large Kunafe. Almost with Turkish tea. Always amazing. See you guys next time!

I wanted to love it given all the fantastic reviews, but the lamb chops that I ordered weren't as flavorful and filling as expected. Perhaps since my party was seated outside on the patio, we also barely received any service despite coming at a less busy time.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a dear friend who had lived in Turkey for many years. As a result, we were very excited to try it out! Safe to say that we were not at all disappointed by this restaurant!! We decided to try all the small plates, such as cigar borek, falafel, feta cheese and olives, as well as the fried cauliflower and they were all incredible! My very favorite was the fried cauliflower! Highly recommend trying it. The best way to end the meal is with the pistacchio cheesecake! It was a perfect blend of pistacchio flavor without overwhelming the palate! I can't give enough stars to this restaurant! Please come try it and see for yourself!

Breakfast at Seldalar today was perfect. Everything on the table was delicious, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was great. Definitely a 10/10 experience!

Had a fantastic Friday night dinner here! Definitely plan to make a reservation if you want to come during peak dinner hours on a Friday. I didn't see a single empty seat! Spicy Ezme - this was my favorite thing here! Loaded with flavor and spice. A great dip for the bread! Grilled Eggplant Salad - another great dip! It was cool and reminded me of babaganoush Hummus - it was good! Not the best hummus I've ever had, but I still enjoyed it Fried Cauliflower - crispy and tasty! Drizzled with a nice sauce and easy to share! Chicken Shish - tasty chicken cubes with Turkish rice! They were marinated well and cooked very tender. Lamb Shish - small lamb bites that came with bread! I don't eat lamb often, but I did like the lamb here! Cooked very well. If you're looking for an authentic Turkish or Mediterranean meal in the north Dallas area, it's hard to beat Selda!

Came for dinner on a Wednesday night off a recommendation and we were not disappointed ! There is inside and outside seating - and you can enjoy hookah with your meal if you sit outside . The place was pretty busy for a Wednesday night so just to be safe you may want a reservation. The food was delicious . They give you complimentary fresh hot flatbread with labneh We started off with hummus, tzatziki, halloumi, and lamacun. For main dishes, we had the chicken shish and beef shish . The meat was tender and juicy and I was a big fan of the salad served along side it. We took some Turkish tea to go. All in all, a great experience and we would absolutely come back

Every single dish was PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. The chicken and veggies were seasoned with just enough spices where it had a slight kick, but not overpowering at all. A perfect balance to bring out the natural flavors of each item. The pita was perfection! Soft and warm, with a slight char on some of the pieces, which added such a beautiful bite with the hummus. Speaking of hummus, the Izmir hummus was silky smooth and incredible. I've had a lot of restaurant hummus and this one was MILES in ahead of them. It also paired beautifully with all of the other items. A flawless base. I cannot wait to come back here! Marcelo was an amazing waiter and even gave us recommendations for next time.

I'm not usually a desert eater, but their Tiramisu is to die for! The service is spot on, as if they anticipate your needs, but not intrusive. On the way out they give the ladies a rose, a nice touch. I see why this place has become the beloved Dallas institution it is. I can't wait to go back!

I visited this restaraunt for the first time and genuinely enjoyed everything I ordered. Starting off with appetizers, my friend and I ordered the pan shared halloumi cheese. This is paired with tomatoes and fig jam and is a wonderful accompaniment to the complimentary bread and olives served for the table. I'm a big fan of halloumi in general but this one was particularly cooked well and a must order for next time. For main entree I ordered Hunkar Begendi, which is sautéed marinated lamb tenderloin with red and green bell peppers over creamy eggplant puree. The lamb was in fact tender and perfectly seasoned and the eggplant puree went very well with the slight gaminess of the meat. I enjoyed this dish overall and it didn't feel too heavy, which sometimes is the case when I eat lamb. The pieces of meat were cut small enough while not being super tough, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend this restaraunt if you enjoy trying Mediterranean fusion spots!

We were greeted and seated right away. Service throughout was warm and attentive, our server checked on us a few times to make sure everything was good. They started us with warm, crispy bread and a yogurt-based dip that was quite flavorful. I ordered the lamb shish kebab platter (well done), and we also tried the chicken shish kebab platter. Both came with buttery rice, a fresh salad drizzled with olive oil, and yogurt sauce. The chicken was tender and properly seasoned, but the lamb was the highlight. Lamb can easily turn dry or overly gamey if not handled right, but this was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor even when cooked well done, exactly how a good shish kebab should be. I skipped dessert this time, though they offer a few options, and I noticed what appeared to be a buffet setup, which I'm curious to try next. Overall, a solid, well executed Mediterranean meal. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

We arrived as a party of five on a medium-busy Sunday evening. The tables were a reasonable distance apart, and the noise level was also fair. The food was delicious. Having not experienced authentic Turkish food before, the mention of authenticity made my group eager to give Cafe Istanbul a try. Ordering was painless and easy. There are entrees for individual meals and easy options for groups to share family-style, which we opted for. We ordered an appetizer platter with beef meatball, baba ganoush, hummus, and phyllo borek (ground beef with spices and onions inside a deep-fried phyllo wrapper). It was a bit odd that there were different amounts of each (2 meatball, 4 phyllo borek, and dollops of baba ganoush and hummus were only enough to get a small taste each) but it was balanced out by the portion size of the entree. For the entree, we opted for the mixed grill plate to share. It had chicken shish kebab, lamb kebab, adana kebab (ground lamb, pepper, and spices), grilled chicken wings, and chicken beyti (ground chicken and spices, grilled). This was served with rice and red cabbage on the side. Individually, each amount seemed small, but given that this plate was meant for two, we were still pleasantly full after polishing this off. Everything was well seasoned. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked. I'd especially recommend the chicken beyti. The here service was swift and outstanding. We were quickly offered menus, waters, and utensils. Our waters were refilled quickly, and the kitchen took our request to plate the lamb separately in stride. The moment after my fork fell to the ground, a member of their serving staff swooped to fetch it (it was behind my chair) while another brought me a new one. It was a very well-rehearsed dance. Worth mentioning is also the fact that there were two separate groups dining that evening (a large family, and a group of friends) to celebrate a birthday. This is a restaurant worthy of birthday celebrations :) Overall, the portions are decent and filling, the food is delicious, and the service is exceptional. Consider visiting this restaurant next time you're in the area; you'll be glad that you did!
