Very solid shabu spot out in Arcadia. Big fan of the beef tongue and wagyu cuts! Their house ponzu is exceptional with fresh spicy radish and garlic. Please note this place is not AYCE. For folks who want shabu but can't do AYCE, shabubu is the spot! The a5 wagyu is sliced to order and you can even see it through the window! Service is exceptional with the owner taking care of the group i went with. Even came with complimentary passion fruit juice! Plenty of seating for big groups

This shabu restaurant did not disappoint! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The restaurant was clean, and the service was excellent. The servers were attentive and checked on us throughout our meal to make sure we had everything we needed, which made the experience even better. If you're looking for a great shabu spot in the San Gabriel Valley, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

This place was fantastic! You can watch them slice the meat fresh right behind the glass, which was really cool to see. The Wagyu was beautifully marbled and incredibly tender. The sukiyaki broth was rich and flavorful, and all of the vegetables and seafood were fresh. The sesame dipping sauce was so good that I kept going back for more. Great service, clean restaurant, and delicious food from start to finish. Definitely a 5-star experience, and I'll be back!

Tried Shabubu in Arcadia and really enjoyed it. We ordered the Hotate Chicken broth for the soup base, and it was really good -- flavorful but not too heavy or salty. It actually got even better after cooking all the meat and vegetables in it. For the meat, we tried the Wagyu beef, beef tongue, USDA Prime ribeye, plus the seafood platter. The Wagyu was definitely my favorite. Really nice marbling, super tender, and you only need to cook it for a few seconds. The Prime ribeye was also very good and had a nice beef flavor. Beef tongue had a different texture but was surprisingly good in hot pot. I also liked that the vegetable set comes with a good mix of veggies, tofu, corn and noodles, so you really get a complete meal. If you're into shabu shabu and like trying different quality cuts of beef instead of just AYCE, this place is worth checking out. I would come back again, especially for the Wagyu and Hotate Chicken broth.

Solid spot for hot pot. They have different broths like chicken and scallop which I really liked if you're looking for a healthy option. (Leave the chicken bone in for a sweeter soup) I thought it was good but quite pricey but they do give you a lot of meat.

    Prime ribeye - great!

The meat is super fresh and delicious and the portions are filling! The ponzu sauce was delicious, I really like that I'm pretty sure it's housemade! The vegetables and toppings were a good amount too. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the spicy miso broth wasn't great. The primary flavor was tangy, and it lacked balance in flavors.

I used to be a regular at Mokkoji before it changed ownership and became Shabubu. Overall, it's definitely pricier compared to Mokkoji. The owner mentioned they want to focus on serving only top-quality meat, which shows in the menu. I ordered: * Nebraska Angus Choice Ribeye ($28) * Canada USDA Prime Ribeye ($38) Both came as a combo with your choice of soup base, a veggie set, and ponzu and sesame dipping sauces. You can definitely taste the difference between the Angus and the prime beef. All the meat is sliced fresh upon order, which I appreciated. The veggie set portion is a bit on the smaller side, though. The restaurant is clean, and the tables are spaced out nicely. The vents can be a little noisy, but that's pretty normal for shabu spots. There's also plenty of parking in the plaza.

I have been wanting to try this spot and finally I came with my coworkers for dinner after work. We really love that we each got our individual hotpots. It allowed us to choose different soup bases based on our preferences. I personally am a big fan of Tonkotsu so I ordered it as my soup base that tasted very rich and full of flavor. The server also provided us with passion fruit drinks as our welcome drinks and a tray full of veggies and udon noodles each to mix to our soup. We decided to order several trays of meats: Ribeyes, Wagyu Beef Tongue, Pork Belly, Wagyu Ribeye, and Seafood Platter. You can see them cutting the meat fresh near the front of the store. Each tray comes in 10-15pieces of meats so perfect for sharing. We were also given some house seasonings/sauce to dip the meat. At the end of our meal, they also gave us vanilla/green tea ice cream as appetizer. Overall, i really liked this place as they were able to accomodate our group to sit together with our individual hotpots.

Shabubu is a great shabu spot in Arcadia! Loved the beef tongue and A5 wagyu, which is sliced fresh to order. Their house ponzu with spicy radish and garlic is also excellent. This is not AYCE, which is actually a nice option if you want quality shabu without the all-you-can-eat format. Service was fantastic--the owner was very attentive and even brought us complimentary passion fruit juice. Plenty of seating for larger groups too. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

We find this newly opened Shabu-shabu place by my place, so we decided to stop by. This place is located in a plaza that has a lot of parking spot. Parking is not an issue. We ordered combo A (nabraska angus choice ribeye), combo F (Japan Miyazaki A5 Wagyu ribeye), and a side of glass noodle. The combo comes with a variety of vegetable. We each get our individual hot pot and broth. The meat was not as good as I expected. For example, the $98 A5 Wagyu ribeye was decent, but I expected more with the price I paid for. The combo A ribeye tasted like regular beef for Chinese hot pot. The extra glass noodle we ordered turns out to be $1-2 Chinese vermicelli from the supermarket instead of the Japanese glass noodle. This is a bit disappointing. Server was friendly and attentive, that deserved 2 stars.

I can't stop thinking about the premium meat and sukiyaki broth as well as sauces at Shabubu. The broths and sauces were so flavorful. The meat was so delicious and premium. This a good place to come with family and friends or for a solo dinner/lunch. Service was so attentive and helpful. The interior is slick, spacious and clean.

New SGV Restaurant Alert Just opened last week, Arcadia welcomes a new restaurant called Shabubu specializing in Shabu Shabu of course with premium slices of Wagyu and other high end cuts of meat along with a fresh selection of seafood. You can pick among 6 different made from scratch soup broths and each set comes with a variety of vegetables , tofu and glass noodles. If you love marbling, this is definitely for you. If you are afraid of fat, just look away or maybe just enjoy their seafood items. This new spot opens everyday except for Wednesday and you can get 20% off from 11am-2pm. If you have bougie taste and appreciate Wagyu and other premium meats without putting a dent in your wallet, consider Shabubu when you are in Arcadia, CA.

They offer premium and prime options for their AYCE hot pot. Their prime menu was $52.95 and offered 9 different soup bases, 17 meat options, self serve bar filled with veggies, noodles and meat balls, drink stations and ice cream. I got the split pot with sukiyaki and jelly golden chicken broth. The sukiyaki was slightly sweet and full of umami flavor. The jelly golden chicken was flavorful and comforting. You can tell they boil down chicken bones from the chicken fat in the soup. They have 3 meats on the prime menu that were wagyu. All 3 were super tender and required little to no chewing. The abalone were massive and firm yet tender. We got the shrimp paste as well which was flavorful and filled with chunks of shrimp. The veggies were fresh and I enjoyed the variety. My favorites were the crown daisy, spinach, enoki mushrooms and Napa. They even have the sweet potato wide rice noodles that are slimy and chewy. Not a lot of AYCE places have it so it's a rare find. The staff here speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English so ordering was not an issue. They have a small lot in the back with about a dozen spots which wasn't an issue on the week day.

The owner was really nice, she helped us take a pic and also took a pic for the photo wall in the back. I had split sukiayki and the mala spicy soup, both good. I also tried the tonkatsu, it was tasty. Meat took some time to come out but seafood is very fresh. The shrimp and mussel from the premium menu is very fresh. The drinks and ice cream are included. I love thrifty ice cream, with Rite Aid gone, I savor every chance I get to have Coconut Pineapple ice cream. I had the canned Herbal Tea and Milk tea, both are very good. The herbal tea was sweet, almost like dates. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.
