My favorite part is that they have a salad/seafood bar that is serve yourself which means you can load up on whatever veggies, fish, shrimp, noodles, gyoza, and sauces you want. On a Saturday afternoon, I took one of my best friends here for a belated birthday lunch. There was no line, so we were able to be seated right away. The restaurant is very spacious and is able to accommodate large parties. They have long booth seating areas with built in burners to enjoy a personal pot of shabu shabu. In the center of the restaurant, there is a self-serve bar with all types of toppings from seafood and noodles to fresh vegetables and fish cakes. I really enjoy that they have a large variety of toppings and a selection of dipping sauces. Our server was very friendly and started us off with some appetizers that come included in the AYCE price. Although this place is known for their shabu shabu, my friends and I always rave about the Chicken Kaarage. It has to be some of the best that I've tried! We ordered the original and soy glazed chicken karaage. My bestie and I must've ordered about 4 rounds during our meal because each order comes with a sad portion of just 3 pieces. This chicken has a satisfyingly thin and crackling crunch that I think comes from double frying. Delicious! For soup base, I had the Sukiyaki broth which is a sweeter soy sauce-based broth. My friend had the Spicy Miso broth. We finished our order with the shabu meats. The meats come on thin metal trays -- sliced paper thin. We ordered the Beef Toro, Natural Chicken Thigh, Natural Pork Belly, and Prime Blade Meat. Overall, the meat quality was pretty good, and everything came out very fast. A few cons about this location are cleanliness and checking up. I noticed our table felt a bit sticky like it needed to be wiped down a bit more. I've had Shabu all across the US and this one is definitely my favorite. Always a place I have to go to, with the delicious Sukiyaki broth and that Goma sauce. It's very easy to have a meal with friends or try a bit of everything with the individual hotpot's. It's a bit loud in here but it's always a fun social setting. It's always packed so service can get a bit backed up but the staff definitely try's their best to constantly assist. I learned a new term at work today: MOLOSO. It stands for More Of, Less Of, Same Of ... let's apply it to my experience at Shabuya! I'd like to see More Of: - the servers/waiters who take orders for the meats and also fill your beverages and broths - different kinds of mushrooms I'd like to see Less Of: - the long wait time and crowded parking (but both are a sure sign this is THE place to be, so I guess I'm ok with it. NOTE: get on the virtual wait list while en route!) I'd like to see Same Of: -the selection of meats (we loved the flat iron and the rib eye) - love the veggies bar that also had seafood and sauce condiments - green noodles! I assume they're spinach, and have told myself they're gluten-free but it's not confirmed (just something I hope for) - everyone gets to choose their own broth for their personal cooking vessel. I went for the tonkotsu and it was super delicious. There's a time limit here. Maybe an hour and a half? I don't remember, but it was just the right amount of time for the four of us. They are strict about it too and will warn you when your time is almost up. As with most self-cook places, the floors are slippery, so maybe save the cute high heels for another time haha! read more

Great place for a great price! It's $29/person for ayce, which I feel like is unheard of now in the Bay Area?? I've been here more than a handful of times and always leave with a happy belly :) They don't take reservations but have a Yelp wait list... highly recommend adding yourself before leaving the house. I always keep an eye on the estimated wait time if I know I'll have a large party during peak hours. People start lining up before this place even opens! The orders for meats, drinks and appetizers are placed with the waiters. We usually just order 1-2 small plates of appetizers to share since we want to save our stomachs for the good stuff (aka meatzz)! The pork belly is my absolutely favorite!!! The rest of the food and sauce bar is self-serve and has a good variety of veggies, fish balls, noodles, seafood etc. The only thing thing they're lacking is the sacha dipping sauce.. There's one that's similar (or could be it idk??) but it's a lot more watered down. Be warned that there's a strict 1.5hr time limit per table (although prob more lax during off peak hours). The waiters do last call 10-15 min before time is up and then bring by the bill soon after. Came here on Friday,13th at about 2:30. It looked like they had a severe lunch rush prior to our arrival. The place was filthy and disgusting! We put our name on a wait list. They were not that busy and no one was waiting, but we were asked to stand outside. Prior to us going to our assigned table, the server grabbed the Bowls that we would be eating. He put his finger inside the bowl. it was disgusting. We sat down, noticed the dishes were dirty. The floors were disgusting. And our view of our surroundings. This place had extremely rude front wait staff. It was cold and raining outside. The entry was totally empty (there were lots of folks standing there previously) and I step inside. The person at the from in the white shirt asked my party's name and told me they're waiting for a party to leave so they could have an open table. That was fine. I hadn't been asking. Then they told me to stand outside in the rain or wait in my car. Mind you - there's nobody there and they just let a dozen people stand in there for the 15 mins we were waiting outside. I went outside in the cold and waited another 20 mins. I would've left but didn't want to make the silly issue a bigger problem as the rest of the party was excited to eat there. When they sat us, they ended up sitting us under a fan at a table that had been empty the entire time we were waiting. The others in my party noticed that it was open when they had went to the bathroom earlier. I don't know why they made the other excuse. For the food, the broth was disappointing and the overall selection was just ok. No enoki mushrooms or sauces like Korean bbq which I like to have when I go to hot pot. The server was super friendly and fairly attentive. The meats came quickly but we had to remind them of the appetizers and rice we had ordered. All in all, I won't be back. I doubt that anyone there will care but when front staff treats you like you don't matter as a customer, I'll make sure to spend my money somewhere else. read more

However, the General Manager, Herman, approached us and sat us down immediately. He took our orders personally, and the food arrived incredibly fast. Throughout the meal, Herman consistently checked in to ensure we were enjoying everything. ​It was impressive to see Herman leading by example--he was even bussing tables once the rush started. The hosts were also fantastic, greeting every guest warmly and wishing them a great day as they left. It's clear the staff reflects Herman's leadership; they've truly adopted him as a role model. ​Between the exceptional customer service and the cleanliness of the facility, I can't recommend this location enough. This is easily one of my all time favorite shabu shabu/hotpot restaurants! I think I've gotten lucky and have never had to wait for a table, but they do have a Yelp waitlist for when they are busy. There's also a strict two hour limit that starts once you're seated. Between two people, we were able to order up to four orders of meat at a time, each of which has five slices. We were here for a late dinner so it wasn't busy and our server came around frequently and our orders came out almost instantly each time. The quality of their meats have consistently been good, and you can choose between several different cuts of beef and pork depending on how lean or fat you want it. The beef toro, premium rib eye, and prime blade meat are my top three. My favorite broth is the spicy miso, I feel like it brings out the beef flavor the best and compliments the veggies and seafood very well. At their sauce bar, you'll find a limited option of ingredients to DIY your own hot pot sauce. It's not as diverse as other hotpot restaurants but gets the job done. You'll also find the buffet bar here with a good selection of veggies, different noodles (ramen, udon, glass), and seafood including blue crab, mussels, and clams. Overall, I've always had a good experience at Shabuya. The service is great and you will always get your money's worth. If you don't leave full, you're doing it wrong! read more

On our way out saying thank you and all we received on the way out was a constant condescending stare from the same 2. This was around 6pm on 1/15/2025. Would definitely try again. I enjoy coming here when I am on lunch and visiting my boyfriend for lunch. I come here for the lunch price which is $19.99 and there dinner price is also good as well $28.99. I enjoy the staff there and sometimes I'll come here back to back for lunch and dinner. I never get tired of their meat and their side bar. The only thing negative I would say it that they don't open up the waitlist on yelp and you have to actually go down there and put yourself on the list and then hang outside and wait. The maximum wait time is 2 hrs. I hope this company will be able to let you go on yelp and add yourself to the list. read more

Decent ayce hotpot spot. Beef is great quality which is why I came. But variety is a bit lacking in both food items and sauces. But I loveeeee their ponzu sauce and could just eat that and the beef. They have a large variety of beef choices. My favorite is the flat iron steak. Second is the cross rib and ribeye, they taste the same to me. The toro and the blade shoulder are both fattier so I can't eat too much of it. No lamb options which is sad. Didn't try the other meats. Service to bring out meats is super fast. They have karaage which is a nice change. The volcano one is tasty but definitely spicy! The appetizers and even order of rice takes a longer time to come out than the meats. Sauces are quite limited to a spicy sauce, the ponzu, and this light colored one. There were two of them but they tasted the same. No sesame/peanut paste, I guess it's more Japanese shabu sauces than like Chinese hotpot sauces. No stuffed fish balls.
