I had higher hopes for this place due to the hype behind the name. We came here yesterday afternoon and ordered two burgers, some fries, cheese fries and the korean bbq chicken bites. We also got some shakes, one chocolate and two oreo. My boys had the burgers and now I understand why there is an option to get up to three patties because the burgers are tiny! Luckily my preteen and teen got full from the fries and shakes but I don't think these tiny burgers are worth $11. I got the chicken bites and they were good (I got the 6 bites). The shakes were also just mediocre - they could have been from Jack in a Box and I would not have known a difference. All in all would I go back? Probably not. I started bingeing burgers again in order to find my favorite. I had only had Shake Shack at the airport, so today was the day. I tried the cheese burger and a double scoop of custard. The custard was rich, creamy and delicious. I really liked both flavors, but particularly like the chocolate. It wasn't too chocolatey. BTW,ctwo scoops was almost too much. There was no one scoop option on my Doorsah menu. In the future, I will save it to go with fries or onion rings. My burger was good. It was on the smaller side, but honestly, that's ok. I came here to grab a quick lunch , and it did take a while to wait for the food to come out. It was prime lunch time, so understandably the place was busy. Ordering on the kiosk was easy, but the food was just ok. I think I prefer in n out over shake shack. Fries are good, but it's overpriced for what it is. You can sit in the outdoor area which is covered for the most part, otherwise you're baking in the sun if you can only find seats more towards the exterior. Located at the food court area at the Bay St. Plaza. They are very busy on a weekend with steady stream of people in and out. They don't have any indoor seating, only outdoor seating which can be cold in the fall, winter and early spring. Ordering is mainly through one of their 4 kiosks, but there is 1 person working the counter that can take your order as well. Once you order they will text you when your order is ready to be picked up, so you can leave and do a little quick shopping and then come back to pick up your order. It's not very big inside, so it can get a little crowded. Prices are not the cheapest for the amount of food you get, but every fast food restaurant has gotten more expensive and portions seem smaller now days. Overall, good tasting food. I wouldn't eat here all the time, it's nice to grab an occasional burger and shake here. There are better and healthier options to eat here in the plaza. read more

Shake Shack gets me every time. I don't know why I keep stopping when I see the name, but here we are again. I ordered the ShackBurger, fries, and a chocolate shake. We went during lunchtime on a Saturday, so it was busy; not surprising. Seating is pretty limited for this location, so we had to search for an open spot in the shared dining area. Luckily, we found some counter space where we could people-watch while we ate. My significant other ordered their "limited time only" K-Shack Spicy BBQ burger with fries and later admitted he wished he had just gone with something more classic. Lesson learned... maybe. I remember going to the first shake shack in the bay area many years ago in the Peninsula and being super impressed by their burgers and fries, and I had a pretty OK experience with the one in Downtown Oakland. Now I've come here before but I can't remember much of the experience, so here is my review for my most recent visit. The family ordered burgers, which they all said was OK (they pointed out how it was not as good as In-n-Out). I opted for some nuggets since I saw how extremely calorie heavy the truffle fries were (and really wanted those). The truffle fries were pretty good but the fries could have been crispier (I picked the meal up right as it was ready). I don't think I would recommend the nuggets as they were pretty low in quality. They were way too soft, almost fell apart when I handled them with my hands, which we thought was quite strange. They lacked flavor while being overly salty at the same time. I will definitely stick with a burger next time!
