It's 2025, and this restaurant still sneaks in a 20% tip--for a party of two--without informing us? Completely unacceptable. There was zero service to justify it, and no one mentioned the charge up front. The food was equally disappointing. The sweet and sour pork was bland, and the black bean noodles were just mediocre--nothing memorable. We ended up paying nearly $50 per person for subpar food and no service, which is outrageous. To make it worse, the restaurant uses Shanghai in its name, yet delivers none of the quality we Shanghainese stand for. Definitely not coming back!

Love this Korean Chinese food spot. The noodles have such a good chew and I can't find another spot around the area with such quality Jjajangmyun. The sauce coats the noodles well and I always finish my bowl. Food is very consistent. Been here several times already. The service is pretty quick and you get the basic kimchi and yellow radish side dishes which you can't really go wrong with. Unlimited hot tea or water which is great. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dim lighting, good amount of space. The place has been around for a while so there is a worn feel but it's homey. When in ktown and craving Korean Chinese, this is the spot to go to!

I came here late night to grab some food and it was alright. The inside of the restaurant is really casual, dimly lit, and vibey. Service was alright. We got the K-Town special, which had jjajjangmyeon, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk, as well as some vegetarian noodles. Both dishes were alright. My friends thought that the vegetarian noodles were SUPER bland. Overall, don't think I would come back

This is the most authentic jajangmyeon that I ate in Koreatown NYC....

So far this is the most authentic jajangmyeon that I tasted in Koreatown NYC. It's really good!!

visited this restaurant late at night when a lot of other places in Koreatown were closed. The outdoor area was very pleasant and cute for a summer night patio restaurant experience. The service was attentive and prompt. Be aware that tip is automatically included. The food was good. The dumplings tasted fine, and so did the garlic shrimp with rice. The portions were big, but the entrées were definitely somewhat pricey. The shrimp was $32.

I recently came here for lunch and my overall experience was a very pleasant one. I like their creative menu. I had JJam + JJa + Tang which is Black Beam Noodles, JJampong and Sweet and Sour Pork or Chicken. I get to enjoy two kinds of noodles and crispy and delicious pork. This is what I call "Trifecta"! :). In addition to that, their outstanding service in a very comfortable environment. This is exactly how I want to enjoy my meal in New York City. :)

Decent spot. Does the job if you're hungry. Lol I ended ip here by accident after getting stuck in the area. My friend wanted to hit up the Thai festival, but after we walked not even 10 feet, the lines to get anything was so ridiculous we had to pivot. We shared a few items that were not memorable at all. The only thing I liked was the rice. The garlic chicken was decent, but it wasn't nearly as spicy as we assumed it would be.

A well advertised SOJU bar is what I would call this place. Situated in K-town, Shanghai Mong was empty and we were skeptical on this place. The service was good and the menu was huge and a little overwhelming. Our order: Veggie DUmplings Garlic Shrimp Jjampong Soondubu Kimchi friend rice Bi Bim Bap Bokum Jjamppong Watermelon/Peach SOJU Loved their spice levels and that made the Kimchi fried-rice very good. Dumplings were perfect. The Jjamppong and Bi Bim Bap were they highlight of the order. The quantity was large and filling. The best part were the SOJU. It is the GOOD DAY SOJU and we loved the Peach, Lychee and watermelon soju. They should emphasize more on Sojus.

This is a great spot for dinner if you ever find yourself in K town with no reservations and 40+ minute wait time. The restaurant had a nice vibe attracting a mix of older and younger adults. Food was also pretty good, and there is a variety / fusion of asian food on the menu. Our plates all came out at different times, but it might not be a big deal for you if you are doing it family-styled. Otherwise, my friends and I were happy we found this spot to grab a quick dinner!

I wanted to find a nice restaurant that was affordable in Korea Town and this was a great choice for that. The interior was colorful and cute. My friend and I were given comfortable booth seating by the entrance. The place offered combination specials for around $20, and I selected the one with Sweet and Sour Pork, Jja Jang Myun (black bean noodles), as well as Seafood Soup, which I requested to be mild. This came in a lovely plate with separations and middle part, which had a pork fried dumpling on top. The dumpling was really well made, had a nice crunch, and plenty of meat filling. My favorite dish was the Sweet and Sour Pork, made with pineapple, onion, red and green pepper. This had beautiful depth of flavor from the both salty and sweet sauce. The pork was lightly breaded and perfectly crispy, while still being tender and succulent. The addition of the veggies and fruit added a welcome fresh element. The Seafood Soup was filled with shrimp, mussels (which I don't eat), onion, and glass noodles. The shrimp was juicy and well seasoned. The Jja Jang Myun had tons of black bean sauce, which was bold in flavor. Service was pretty good and everything came out in a timely manner. I would be open to returning at some point to try the Bulgogi.

The food here is ok. It use to be a time in manhattan everything was open late oh how times have changed. This place is packed and filled with a lot of young people. I saw someone try to run out on their bill. The restaurant charges you 3 dollars if you pay with a card by the way which I think is kinda shady. The portions are decent, again this is a place to come to if you are hungry and nothing is open. Also I think their prices a little pricey not to bad but again it's Manhattan. Would I come back maybe if I was around here and was really hungry.

Today I was here with my dog, I got the garlic shrimp dish and the mixed vegetable dish. I only went here because it had outdoor seating, the mixed vegetable dish looked like vomit and tasted about as appetizing. Shrimp with chili- not spicy at all, texture was like a rubber balloon. Nasty. Vegetable dish-Soggy, veggies were overcooked. Super overpriced. Overall: Complete waste of money and time. Wouldn't even feed this to my dog.

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

I missed a call and literally two minutes later the call came through again and the woman yelled at me - "hurry up hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!" said the driver was waiting 10-15 minutes for me, which was simply untrue - I got a call literally two minutes before- just rude. Added a screenshot in case the owner doubles down that it was 15 mins. Guess the first call was from the delivery driver, and the second was from the restaurant itself. ‍ But the really disappointing part is that they didn't pack any soup separate from the noodles! - So my chicken dumpling noodle soup basically had no soup - don't know if they forgot it or if it was absorbed by the noodles but most restaurants at this point know to pack the broth and the noodles separately,- so I ended up having to add some of my own vegetable broth, which totally was not the flavor I was hoping for. So - love the food, but delivery service leaves a lot to be desired - next time I'll try giving instructions to pack the soup separate from the noodles and see if that helps!

Located within the historic Chelsea Market building--a former Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first produced--the restaurant feels theatrical in the best possible way. The soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting, and energetic atmosphere create a sense of occasion from the moment you walk in. It feels less like simply going out to dinner and more like stepping into a beautifully staged production. I started with a Botanist Gin Martini with a twist, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The surprise star of the evening was the new Cucumber Tiger Salad. The balance of flavors was exceptional: bright acidity, a pleasant touch of heat, and just enough mint to make each bite feel fresh and exciting. Every so often the mint would come through and suddenly all the flavors would click together in a way that made me immediately want another bite. This is a dish I would happily order again. Next came the Edamame Dumplings. They were delicate and comforting, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying broth. The broth adds depth and richness that elevates the entire dish. My only suggestion would be the slightest touch more salt, perhaps even a finishing sprinkle of black volcanic salt for both flavor and presentation. I also found myself wishing there were a bit more of that delicious broth because it contributes so much to the overall experience. For my entrée, I ordered the Glazed Alaskan Black Cod, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The fish was rich, buttery, and perfectly prepared. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully the accompaniments were composed. The pickled cucumbers brought brightness, acidity, and crunch, while the black bean and eggplant relish delivered deep savory notes and unexpected complexity. I'm generally not an eggplant fan, but this relish was outstanding. The cucumbers and relish sit at opposite ends of the flavor spectrum, yet both somehow make the cod even better. Looking back, I think a glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside the cod would have been the perfect pairing. I finished with the Miso Caramel Milk Bar, which was spectacular. Decadent, sweet, salty, and touched with just enough umami to keep every bite interesting. The chocolate crumble underneath added a wonderful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy ice cream and luscious caramel sauce. Every component worked together perfectly, creating a dessert that was both indulgent and sophisticated. From start to finish, the meal felt polished, thoughtful, and memorable. Thank you!
