Some older reviews talk about bad customer service but this was not my experience at all. I get it that this shop is located inside the terminal of Long Beach Airport and perhaps it can get hectic with all the people coming and going for arrivals and departures. Firstly, they have a well stocked offering of carbs! It all looked good and very fresh. Secondly, the person behind the counter was courteous and friendly. She helped me with my order and it was a very nice interaction. Their hot liquid refreshments were super hot! I like my hot beverages hot but I really had to cool my drip coffee down a bit before I could comfortably consume it. We also had a latte and it was also nice and hot. The cinnamon coffee cake (sorry, I forgot the photo before devouring it) was really good. I've only flown into this airport a few times but if I'm in again, I would definitely patronize them. read more

Had to get something in the tummy before our flight. This coffee shop is located in the South Concourse of the Long Beach Airport next to the Boathouse restaurant. Saw their breakfast sandwich options and chose a breakfast croissant with ham, egg, and cheese. They did not have any decaf coffee options so I just got a small size almond milk. Hubby got an iced coffee, a yogurt parfait, and some chips. Nothing remarkable about the experience here but, enough to hold us over until snacks on the plane and food at our destination. She was annoyed that I was paying with cash, I told her to add a little bit of milk and she barely put any, so I asked for more and she was so mad. Then after I paid I asked for a receipt and she literally looked at the machine and said "you grab it". She was so unprofessional. If you order an espresso drink, you're basically getting a flavored milk. The two cup size options are way too big and they only use one shot in the large cup and two shots in the extra large cup. I ordered half-filled cups but it was still too dilute. To get a decent espresso drink I recommend asking for two shots in a half filled cup of the smallest size. The people aren't that friendly, they seem more concerned about processing you and than giving you a good experience. read more

I've never heard of this coffee roasting company before, but my understanding is that they have other non-airport locations. As far as airport cafes go, this was better than expected. Prices are higher than your average cafe but, again, for an airport, they are fair. My 20 oz americano came in at just above $5 which isn't terrible. The coffee tasted good, albeit a bit over extracted and over roasted / burnt but still drinkable. The pastries looked good, but I wasn't too hungry, so I decided to skip over indulging. According to the menu, the pastries are from a place called Sweet Jill's bakery, which I have not heard of but I'm curious to give a try the next time I'm in Long Beach. The service was quick and efficient. The barista asked if I wanted any room for cream, and when I told her that I wanted my Americano black, she filled it to the top. Yes, I know it's just extra water... so if you want a stronger / more condensed americano, I suggest asking specifically for less water to be added. The counter area can get crowded during high traffic times. I was fortunate to arrive when there wasn't a line but one quickly reached 8-9 people just 30 minutes after I arrived. Overall, the ambience is what you'd expect in an airport. It's busy, it's loud, it can get crowded, but if you're like me - you know it's better to be caffeinated to deal with the chaos rather than under caffeinated and grumpy. read more

I think they added too much oat milk, but it got the job done I suppose. They made the drink pretty quickly because there weren't many people around. This is for the Concourse 6 location, though I believe the same location usually closes early at 4pm. However, the "other" one at Concourse 4 seems to have closed early when I was there so perhaps the evening staff just moved locations. No worries, not a large airport here so not too much time lost! I asked for a single shot of decaf mentioning that I would have ordered a double if available (barista first mentioned there might not be enough grounds for more than a single shot) - but the staff was able to fit in triple - thank goodness! Very rude cashier early afternoon on March 9, 2026. I paid for my hot tea with the exact amount using dollar bills and coins. I did place the money POLITELY on the counter so I could get exact change. The young barista with creative makeup demanded I pick the money up and put it in her hand although it was easily accessible and was NOT placed there with any aggression or disrespect intended. When I questioned why I needed to do this, she accused me of being "rude." She eventually apologized, but this was uncalled for. Some cultural differences allow the practice of paying as I did without being considered rude. I called this dark haired young woman out as rude. She never extended her hand out and again, I was counting out and placing correct change and also thinking of making it to my flight. I just arrived at the airport and saw Sheldrake at the side of the gate. I haven't been able to try their other location in Long Beach so this was very convenient for me. Service was great, they were efficient and attentive when taking orders and making drinks. In need of food, they have snacks and a glass case full of different pastries at the counter. It was so tempting to get their Apple strudel! I ordered their iced caramel latte with almond milk. I got that with no drizzle, it was sweet and got the job done. Its early in the morning at the Long Beach airport and once you get past the TSA precheck, tbis is the only place to get a fresh cup of coffee or pastry. Everything does look fresh when you first arrive. Coffee is robust, and specialty drinks can be created there.
