One of the worst foods I've ever eaten. I usually don't write reviews when I experience bad food but I am tired of it now so here you go. I ordered the grilled chicken club and the toast. Boy, when I opened the plate, it smell like fiery because the dam club was burnt like a blazing rocket. Not only that there was no Sauce, lame ass dry ass lettuce and two strips of bacon. Amma be honest here one of the worst experiences. How the heck you expect me to eat a burnt chicken with a bread? all the cheese got the burn too because it was on top of the chicken. Hot Sizzle! Not a bad deal at sizzlers. They give you really good combos meals with steak. I usually or mainly come here for the salad bar, i grew up going to their salad bar and it is still the same today. For 9.99 you can get unlimited slad and chicaen wings and tacos. Not a bad deal. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!! This place seriously shows how bad the economy is doing. When I was a child I would come here often with my parents. It was out weekly go-to eat place. All of my past memories of this place were great. But because of this last experience I do not beleive i will be returning to Sizzler, at least this location, any time soon. Now enough side tracking, To the Negative experience. I took my family here for my Mothers birthday (Tacky I know). I ordered a 12 oz steak and ordered it medium rare. It came to me BURNT!. Not the good burnt either. it was seriously BLACK and tasted like charcol. It didnt even look like a steak. It was suppose to be top surloin. but it looked more like a Dildo. No joke, I wish I had taken a picture of it so i could show you all. The steak plate did not even come with and garnishments. it was just a piece of meat on a plate. No vegatables or anything. just the piece of crap meat. I got half way through the steak and i could not even take the taste anymore. I seriously lost my appetite. As an appitizer I got the All-You-Can-Eat Salad bar. (The reason for this is because I have fond memories of the CHICKEN WINGS) I am not sure if I just built this place up big in my head but the chicken wings were not worth the suspence. Even the fresh batch of wings they braught out tasted old. But on to the acctual salad. You cant really get salad wrong right? WRONG!!! The letuce was browning and some of the customers just drop crap into the other components. And no one bothered to clean it. There was a person, who looked like the manager, standing by the salad bar. It seemed like he was looking for people that would go back for more salad even though they got the one-trip bar. That in it self is kinda stupid. A one trip salad bar?? Who came up with such a stupid Idea? The only redeeming factor I think that they had was there not so clamy clam chowder. And that is only because of the fact that i added extra stuff to it like bacon bits. Okay, this isn't one of the best steak restaurants, but they're okay. My boyfriend and I wanted steak, but we also wanted to watch a movie. We saw that it was already 15 minutes to 10pm and wanted to get something really quick before we had to eat a fast food joint. I remembered that Sizzler's was around the area, near AMC Mercado. We got there in time, before they stopped serving. We immediately looked at the menu off the wall and gave our orders at the cashier stand. We looked around and saw that the waiters and waitresses were having their late night dinner. My boyfriend and I felt bad we came at the last minute. BUT...they were really nice about it and gave us great service. Poured us our drinks and gave us some warm toasty bread. Thanks! Prices are really on the cheap side, so you get a good money's worth if you plan to eat a lot of salad and hot food. Really not that bad. I guess a good time to come here is Friday night before they close. Give it about 30 minutes to closing and you wouldn't have to wait for a table AND you can eat plenty of food without elbowing someone next to you at the salad bar. They serve an all you can eat salad bar, soups, AND hot food section. They have the typical salad bar, but the hot food section was pretty good. They serve crispy fried chicken wings, spaghetti, and tacos. I wouldn't recommend eating their spaghetti, but try the tacos. It was edible to eat. We didn't get to eat our steaks, because we got full off of the bread, salad, soup and tacos. Overall, I'll come here for a cheap dinner or lunch when needed. read more

The Salad bar, period. That is all you really have to order here. Just get the salad Bar and some water and you are set to get stuffed. Hopefully you are o.k. with tacos, Nachos, Fried Chicken wings, Clam Chowder, deserts and oh yeah... salad. Each Sizzler has its ups and downs. the ups here were that you can get stuffed very easily on this food and some of it actually taste good. The Taco meat at this location is a bit more over processed than the other small town Sizzler that I go to. This shows across the board. The wings are good, but can be a bit on the dry and overly crispy side. what I discovered was that the Clam Chowder at this location was really good. But you cannot just have the chowder alone, you must fill your bowl two thirds of the way with chowder and then add one partial scoop of the Broccoli cheddar soup to it. Oh my... that is what I am talking about. I had two servings like that. I do not see why there is not a commercially available soup out there like that already. For this alone, I plan on returning to this sizzler location very soon. read more

Consistent comfort food for a fair price. Service has always exceeded our expectations, so we make sure to tip really well afterwards. Location is great; near highway entrances and exits. AYCE salad bar entails many choices and options. The recent renovations are an additional plus. I am glad that they've decided to revert back to offering styrofoam boxes and plastic bags, when needed, as opposed to these 'doggy-bags, white paper bags with black dog prints' that they would give out to customers a while ago. SIZZLERS... This is were my grandparents DINE out because they have an excellent "HONORABLE GUEST" menu. It was super cute, tons of old people eating at 5:00 pm! I haven't been to a sizzlers in years, they have you pay first kind of similar to fresh choice. It is nice, because if you come with a large party, you can all pay separately. After you order, you find a table and they have a waiter who comes to bring you your choice or garlic bread or rolls. he/ she also helps bus the table and brings out your food when it is ready. I ordered the full salad bar $12.99, not too bad, it isn't as big as some other salad bars I have been to, but they also have a small portion with the salad bar with real food. That includes chicken wings, pasta, tacos, and nachos. The rest of the food looked pretty good, my mom got a burger for like $8.00. Very affordable, but not the best quality meat. They have dessert after such as ice cream, brownies, pudding, and toppings. read more

My parents, brother and I had lunch here today for my brother's birthday after the noon mass at Our Lady of Peace Church in Santa Clara. Not bad at all! We got these coupons in the mail that knocked of $5 from the steak and endless shrimp meal and $5 from the big appetite trio meal (steak, baby back ribs and shrimp). Not bad at all! I've been to this Sizzlers a bunch of times, and haven't had a negative experience. You get what you pay for and I like the food. I ordered the steak and endless shrimp meal. I enjoyed the shrimp more. I requested my steak to be cooked medium well and it had that burnt taste. But, for the price you pay, it'll do. Service at the register and in the restaurant made the experience here today for lunch very positive. Our server brought out our food in no time and constantly checked up on us. She was a real sweetheart. My parents threw it down at the endless salad bar! I hear the salad bar is something to look out for at Sizzler's. Next time, I want to take my young nieces here for the kids' menu and endless sundae bar! My parents aren't big fans of fancy dining, so I always appreciate the simplicity of a place like Sizzler's and I think the point is that we are eating as a family and as long as my parents are happy, I'm happy. read more

Went on a Sunday for all you can eat riblets. Huge portion, not why I am here on yelp. The atosmphere here is very family like. A middle aged server seemed to know everyone. A small family came in with an older lady. He knew she wanted fries no salt. He asked them if they wanted what they normally ordered. I felt lucky to get this server. We didn't need a lot of attention. And I could tell he wanted to serve us more but I am super low maintenance. I watched how all the servers interacted with themselves and other employees. They seem to generally enjoy working there. The food is solid, but the staff is what made me think I should visit more. Congrats on a great team! read more

Been coming here ever since I was a kid. Used to be my parent's favorite before the divorce. While I still come here whenever I can, and look forward to the reasonably priced steak and make-your-own sundae bar, there are some changes from the past few years that have been a letdown. Cheese Toast: That delicious orange toast. They used to give you a basket full of it. Now, you have to ask for it, and you only get 1 per person. The Sundae Machine: One of the main things I look forward to are those sundaes. For the past year, every-time I come here, the ice cream is either really runny, or completely melted. It's been like this since 2009, shouldn't it be fixed by now? Overall though, the price is worth it. The waiters and waitresses are very respectful, and hardly ever make mistakes. we went here for "fun" basically as it was one of those places our parents took us when we were kids on occasion. We ordered their $9.99 special with each of the party order the 6oz steak with side AND access to the salad bar - a screaming deal. While the quality wasn't the best, the value was definitely there. I LOVE SIZZLER... I hated it when they closed all the stores in my area. However the Santa Clara store survived... So when me and my two sons went out to dinner, we wanted steak! All three of us ordered the Pepercorn Sirloin Cuts and a salad bar.. Well guess what... within an hour of leaving the restaurant, we all had to race to the bathroom. One would think that when a party of 3 pays $91 for dinner, the food would be good enough to digest properly. HORRIBLE SERVICE. First off, the cashier was rude and thought that we were being cheap. She snapped at me for requesting no sour cream on my baked potato. (So how will you know what I want?!) The food was fine. The salad bar was fresh and frequently restocked. What made me want to give them one star is based on past experiences and particularly because one of the other servers was trying to take our plates away without even asking while there was tons of food left and WHILE WE WERE STILL FILLING UP OUR TAKE OUT BOXES. WTH?! I politely told her that we were not done yet and she goes to complain to another server and YELLS, "THEY WONT LET ME TAKE THEIR PLATES!!!!" of course! because we were not done with it! I felt completely rushed out of this stupid restaurant. My past experiences included: -One time I ordered shrimp and didnt want the tartar sauce and when the server came around he asked if I wanted it and I said no. He said, "Ok. we can use it for someone else." and takes the tartar sauce off of my plate. Make sure your sauces look good!!!!!!! -The server was clearing another table and there was bread leftover and came to us and asked if we wanted more bread. This place used to be our bread and butter when we were kids, but as an adult, it's quite another experience. The salad bar is quite good with what you get: salad, soups, chicken wings, dessert, etc. but the steaks... that's another story... skip it. Try the chicken dishes instead. For the money, it's not bad, especially if you have a coupon. I know people who will order an entree and get the additional salad for $6.95. They box up the entree and eat the all-you-can-eat salad bar, so it's a good deal for "two" meals. This is one of the few Sizzler's left in the area I know of only two left in the bay area one in Oakland one in East San Jose and this location. We do frequent here every so often to get a nice meal but generally we come here for the salad bar which is outstanding. We know the steaks when they cook him our re-waited before cooking but I don't member seeing a steak get cooked down that much. We have found this location to be nice and friendly staff is always courteous to us and always cleaning and maintaining the facilities the restrooms are clean and the food is hot and fresh. We can always find a good meal a table at a reasonable price and we do continue to come here. If you are in the area and looking for a decent steak at a good price we highly recommend this location. But if you're looking for a great salad bar you need to try this place out. read more

I was a bit concerned when I saw the picture of a few items on a plate with plenty of space, but when I stepped in the door those concerns melted. This place is a lovely salad bar restaurant with delicious real meat. I had the small tri tip medium and it was delicious. There's also cheese bread which I don't remember seeing on the menu but was included in the meal, and delicious strawberry lemonade. I'll admit the cooked veggies served as a side were over cooked, but after my large plate of salad I had my veggie fix anyway. read more

I absolutely LOVE the Malibu Chicken, but I hardly ever get to go to Sizzler because no one else will go with me! Luckily my sister is pregnant and if I can make her think of any type of food for long enough, she'll need to eat it. We came here on a Friday around 5:30pm and there was no line :) I didn't need the salad bar since I just wanted my chicken but it was given to me anyway so I offered it to my sister. She said the salad stuff was fine.. not bad, not great. My chicken, however, was superb. Our waitress was attentive and, although I had just ordered water, when I asked if I could get a soda instead she didn't charge me :D It's the little things.. One awkward situation is the dessert bar. I'm not sure, but I think if you get the salad bar you're entitled to the dessert bar. I'll admit, I partake regardless. My son and I ordered our steak rare...and he said it was the first time in awhile that when we ordered our meat cooked rare or medium rare - it was cooked properly! I went here tonight around 7PM and I swear it was like having dinner in a retirement community. Anyways, I got the Shrimp, shrimp, shrimp plate. It comes with grilled shrimp, fried shrimp, and stuffed shrimp. The fried and grilled shrimps were OK but the stuffed shrimps were new to me; they tasted pretty damn good. Since the place was semi full, my friend and I were able to cop a table right in front of the TV to catch the Cav's game. It was pretty much like happy hour without alcohol and a crap load of food. I gotta every couple of weeks. The service at the Santa Clara Sizzler is actually pretty good. I don't usually have to wait too long before they give me some attention. There's one waitier who is really nice and takes good care of folks. The food ranges from pretty average (the All-You-Can-Eat Shrimp are only OK) to pretty good. Their New York Steak is about a 7.5 on my scale and I've eaten at a lot of steakhouses. The prices are OK and the atmosphere is condusive to long chats and wild laughter.
