We love this place! The pizza and pasta are great! He gets a personal pizza, I usually get ravioli and/or a small pizza. We love the fresh garlic option and the bolognese sauce is lovely. Also l love that you can pick your crust style. Only complaint is on their door dash. They offer garlic sauce for the ravioli. But if you order, that isn't a choice. I wish it were. They were open New Years day and we were in South Reno, so we stopped in for lunch. We have been here before and always enjoyed it. It is very dark inside. I know I am getting older and my eyes are getting worse, but I really had to focus to read the menu. And I don't use reading glasses yet. The waitress pointed out that they offer a lunch menu so we perused it. My wife selected the soup and salad combo while I chose the meatball sandwich. The smell of garlic on the garlic fries when our meals arrived was amazing! The clam chowder was really yummy as was the house salad. They didn't skimp on the various toppings on the salad and when my wife inquired about ranch dressing rather than the vinaigrette the server said no problem. We ate here on Saturday 11/9/19 at about 5:30. Ok, We (my hubby and I) love this place. When we got there we were told it would be about 10 minutes for a table as there were a few people ahead of us and tables were full. There was room at the bar and a college football game was on so we opted to sit there. We started with a couple beers, I had the Black Butte Porter, yum yum, and my husband had the Anderson Valley Amber which was a little heavy for my husband but still had good flavor. About 20 minutes after we arrived the place was standing room only! Glad we got there when we did. We ordered an appetizer, Buffalo Shrimp. OMG! soooo good! The jumbo shrimp was lightly breaded, fried and sauced with the most flavorful spicy buffalo sauce (better than when I had original wings at Anchors in Buffalo New York). And it is spicy! It comes with a side of buffalo ranch but I had to get a regular ranch to cool down a little. The hubby loved it just how it was. We then ordered a medium sausage and pepperoni pizza and another round of beers. I got the same but this time my husband got the Peroni, which he liked much better. The pizza came and was hot and loaded with toppings. First bite was so delicious and the ingredients were so fresh. The sauce wasn't my favorite and I'm more of a thin crust person and I still had to stop myself at 2 slices it was that good. But let me tell you about the staff. The hostess was very friendly and greeted us with a warm welcome and a smile. The three bartenders, Ben, Wyatt and Wesley were fantastic. All 3 were very attentive and covered each others backs like a real team should. They were energetic, friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and really on top of their game! Todd, the manager that night, was also very attentive to what was going on in the restaurant. He would walk around asking patrons if all was ok and if they needed anything and also helping his staff when needed. I really liked that he would jump in and help instead of yelling at or blaming his staff, like I have seen others do elsewhere. If you go at a busy time be prepared to wait a little for a table or your food - that goes with anywhere. It has a great atmosphere so don't be in a rush and just enjoy your time there. We spent about an hour and a half there just enjoying the place. Our movie didn't start till 7:30 so we were in no hurry and took our time ordering - we didn't even order our pizza until after we ate our appetizer. So the hour and a half was on us not them! Also when you check in on yelp you get a $5 dollar off coupon when you spend $30. Next time we go we are going to try the Italian food. They have Veal Parmesan! I ate here for the first time on my birthday in January 2022. When my daughter asked where I'd like to go for lunch, I told her I wanted great pizza. She was right on taking me to Skipolini's. I shared a mushroom, sausage and olive pizza with my daughter and my granddaughter had the veal Marsala. All of us enjoyed our meal. The inside looks super hip and adorable! Despite yelp reviews we decided to give it a try. We got the lasagna and chicken piccata for dinner, and sure enough, yelp reviews were right. Lasagna: nothing out of the ordinary, portion size was too small for price. Costco freezer lasagna is better. Chicken piccata: taste like you're eating straight up lemons. First visit to Skipolini's and we enjoyed the food but not the service. The waiting area is pretty big and comfortable - it's basically a living room. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive which felt normal to us, especially with how busy the restaurant was. We started with the Artichoke Spinach Dip. It was served with crostini (little toasts) which was nice considering most restaurants we visit use chips. It was delicious and we didn't think to take a picture until every last bite was gone. Would 100% order again. Our friends ordered the Calamari Fritti and mentioned that it was cooked perfectly. My husband and I ordered the Seafood Risotto without mushrooms - and it came with mushrooms anyway. I'm not one to complain, and since I'm not allergic, we picked them out and moved on - but it's still a pain to pick through your meal. The salmon was tasty and the shrimp were huge, but my husband absolutely hates when restaurants keep the tails on (he thinks it's lazy of the restaurant and messy for him). The serving size was huge and we couldn't finish it between the two of us. Our friends split a small pepperoni and jalapeno pizza. They have visited Skiploini's before and mentioned that this pizza was far better than their first visit. I am rating Skipolini's three stars based on the service we received. Our friends arrived later than us and were not offered drinks, even after their food arrived. We had to waive down another employee as we hadn't seen our server in a while. They asked for ranch which finally came as they were eating their last slices. Once we were finished eating, we noticed the time and needed to rush to our movie next door. It seemed that the service slowed down once that was announced. I asked for a to-go container and the server returned to our table three times and walked by at least several times until I actually got it. And then there was the long wait for our credit cards to be ran; we saw the server walking around for a while before approaching her station to run the cards. We just felt ignored throughout the visit, but perhaps the server was new or overwhelmed. All in all, we did not feel that our server was attentive but we did enjoy the food. We stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon for starters the atmosphere is very nice atmosphere is very inviting and has an upscale feel to it. We started out with the Tahoe blue mules which were your typical mules just with the Tahoe blue vodka. They were very tasty and refreshing. We ordered the fagiolini fritti (deep fried green beans) they were perfectly battered, had the perfect crunch, they were spicy, and smokey, all served with a yummy aioli. For the main course we ordered the family sized Caesar salad and a large black and white. The salad was your typical Caesar salad, the romaine was fresh and crisp. Only this salad was served with lemon slices! That was a first time for me and I highly recommend fresh squeezed lemon on your Caesar salad! However the black and white stole the show! All of my favorite toppings on one pie!?!? And I freakin love white sauce. The only downside is our service could have been more attentive. This review is strictly for happy hour. I will definitely be back for sit down dinner! The location is easy to find and walkable distance to the movie theater. There was plenty of parking. Upon entering the establishment, you will see the yummy gelato cart. What is Italian food without gelato right? The atmosphere is amazing! The place has a great feel to it. Perfect for dates! Their happy hour is from 4-6. I had the meatball sliders, which were fantastic! Probably one the best meatballs I've ever had. I also ordered some of their garlic cheese bread which was just ok... and to flush it all down, what happy hour is complete without a Moscow Mule? They make their mules with Tahoe Blue vodka, so extra bonus points for them. Service was great and we never had to ask for our water to be refilled. Not amazing. I was craving a big nice, hearty, bowl of pasta. I wanted comfort food. I love chicken Piccata because of the buttery citrusy sauce. But this chicken was as bland as steam chicken and no tanginess from the lemon. To top it off the chicken had onions on top that were not fully cooked. I love onions, for my taste they are either raw or soft when cooked, I do not appreciate and in between done on my onions. My garlic bread was ok, nothing to rave about. The customer service was outstanding and they replaced my dish for chicken Parmesan. This chicken was tastier, but so over cooked and dry that I had a tough time chewing and swallowing it. For the price I rather visit a chain restaurant. Bummer, I had people recommended me to come here. Either the chef or the recipes need some quality control. read more

My husband and I pulled into this shopping plaza looking for a place to eat. We picked Skipolini's. The restaurant was very clean and the staff super friendly. Our waiter Bailey was always near by making sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeños and they were perfectly cooked and delicious! We ordered a medium pizza thinking we'd eat it all, but it was huge! We ended up taking half of it home! All the food being delivered around us looked delicious as well. But what really impressed me was that the manager Todd was really interested in how the service and food were. He checked on us several times. Mariah, our server, was exceptional. Always checking visually and not interrupting our meal but always refilled our water when necessary. Our drinks from the bar came promptly and quickly due to her diligence. Not overwhelmed, it must have been at least over a half hour after we ordered before we got our food, meanwhile I noticed some customers came and went and newer arrivals got their orders well after we ordered. The food when we finally got it was "meh" at best. The menu was fairly extensive but nothing really jumps out and sez order me. The meatball sandwich was rather dry, probably could have used more sauce, the cajun pasta used that dreaded white meat chicken and the andouille sausage was cut so thin, I think it was shaved. I am writing this just to warn people!!! my family went and ate at skipolini's on our way back from Virginia City today and both my mom and aunt had the fettuccine Alfredo . Now 4 hours later both ladies are really sick with stomachs cramps and also with goes with that . I called skipolinis's and all I was told was that food poisoning doesn't start for 1-2 days after the meal you ate however that is not true and I am extremely disappointed with the lack of responsibility they we're willing to take hopefully they at least headed my warning because I mostly called them to let them know so it doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

The Calamari was great, the kids make your own oizza was delicious, and completely finuished by my picky eater. Calzone, Spaghetti and Fetticini was good, I was disappointed withthe chicken in the fetticini. ut i'm very pricky whenit comes ot chicken.
