I have eaten here a couple of times and I have to say, I love this place. The food has always been very good. I have had the Mocha cafe's both times I have been here or maybe 3 times here... either way, they are very chocolaty, and not very espressoish, if you understand where I am coming from. Not a bad thing, just a preference. The wait staff here has always been extremely good and the decor is very well done. It can be a little loud at times, but not so loud you can't hear the person in front of you and even the odd conversations you may hear next to you. Or if you sitting next to me the really odd conversations you will here. This place is tucked inside the shopping plaza and parking can be a real pain if you get here anywhere near lunch time, so come early or walk. read more

This was the first time we ate at Sleepy Bee Cafe. The menu was a surprise with a wide selection of carnivore, vegetarian and vegan choices. My daughter ordered the chorizo scramble without the cheese and sour cream, she was pleased with it. I ordered a scramble with chorizo, spinach and onion. We both took a side of sweet potatoes. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. The restaurant was clean and the server was friendly and efficient. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

Terrible food and terrible service. Look at the tofu scramble in the photo. It's like a tablespoon and a half of dry tofu. Salad is also lame, and an anemic single slice of toast. My to go order yesterday was so weak and awful that I didn't touch it, and when I came in today to show them how bad it was there was absolutely no effort made to right the wrong. I was told that it looked right to them. Wrong answer. I didn't eat breakfast yesterday because it was awful, and the restaurant didn't care. read more

Food wasn't great - simple and equivalent to Bob Evans. Wish they had more coffee options - with the cafe being honey themed - surprised they didn't offer any honey lattes, or other flavors. Espresso was bland. Also hard to believe that an iced caramel latte only comes in a shot size - otherwise the price doubled. Expensive cafe for mediocre food and coffee. Nice atmosphere. Sleepy Bee Cafe would be my favorite spot for brunch but they seem to just miss it by a mark each time I visit. The interior is so cute. I love the lil' sleepy bee, the bar, the open windows. It's all set for perfection. The Queen City Bee has the potential to be the best breakfast sandwich in the WORLD. I SAID IT. However, of the many times I've had it (because I want to love it so much), very few of the times has the goetta been hot. Usually, I can tell that it has just been sitting. I get that maybe it needs to sit for a minute to hold it's shape but man, I have had it piping hot before and I thought I had died and went to heaven. I want that EVERY TIME. Sadly, it just isn't consistent. The red-skin potatoes are never great either. Very much lacking in flavor. They do use Carabello Coffee (MY FAVE COFFEE IN CINCY, see my review on them!) which again, another reason I want to love this place. Service has not really ever been up to par. I served at a very similar breakfast spot in Cincinnati for many years and I just know how I would like to be treated as a guest in the establishment. I do not think a lot of these workers care too much for the guests. I'll continue to give them a chance because a cold Queen City Bee is better than living without it. read more

My wife and I came here after lunch somewhere else because we thought it was a cafe like a coffee shop. It was a little jarring walking in to have it seem more like a restaurant, but that wasn't a problem. My wife ordered a hazelnut oat milk latte and I ordered a chai tea latte. They were out of chai, unfortunately, so I got a "pot" of the earl grey. I don't drink coffee, and chai is my favorite; this was disappointing, but obviously understandable. My main reservation came from the price of the earl grey. $4 for what is just tea leaves and water. We were also interested in getting a pastry of some kind as dessert. We asked about a menu, but our server was a little surprised at our request. Politely, he said that he could take a look at the pastry case and let us know our options. This solution was acceptable; we were just shocked they wouldn't have a list already. The drinks came out a little while later. My wife said her latte was very good. The "pot" of tea was just slightly larger than the mug: probably about 16 ounces total. It was loose leaf, to my relief, and not just a tea bag for the price. And I will admit it was good tea, but just very expensive. Our server read us the list of bakery items, and we settled on the pumpkin loaf. And then our server disappeared for ten to fifteen minutes. I had just gotten the tea and there was sugar on the table, but I had to wait until he came back to ask for milk for the tea, and when he did come out, he said that they had heated up the wrong pastry, so we waited another five minutes for the pumpkin bread. When it finally arrived, it was very small: probably an inch or so tall and three inches wide. Hardly two bites for each of us. And when the bill came, our tiny slice of bread was $3.50. On top of that, it was nothing special. Just conventional pumpkin bread. Overall, we didn't have a terrible experience, but we waited longer than we would have liked, and spent about $13 on a latte, a cup of loose leaf tea, and a couple bites of dessert. Pretty expensive for mostly just medium-quality food/drink. read more

My biggest complaint is about the parking at the blue ash location. The food is delicious and it's always crowded, consider calling ahead at peak times. The goetta is delicious and in the fall when they are serving apple cakes, definitely worth ordering. I've never ordered something I didn't enjoy. read more

I have to say, this is my favorite Sleepy Bee location. There is ample outside seating, indoor bar seating, and tons of indoor tables. Entry is through the shared building hallway by either front or back door. Parking here can be tricky as there are a lot of businesses sharing lots, so its crowded. Despite being busy inside the bee, there was still plenty of seating. Use no wait if you want to insure quick seating. For newbies, the bee is a wonderfully healthy Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch spot. They have responsibly sourced and local ingredients. They take dietary concerns into consideration. Drink wise there is something for everyone from Carabello Coffee and various coffee type drinks (lattes etc) to juice, mimosas, and smoothies! I went with the fresh OJ as it was during work hours. For devouring, err I mean eating there are sandwiches, pancakes, granola, eggs and more. Don't make the mistake I did of missing the daily specials posted up on the chalkboard in the bar area, as I would have ordered that hands down. I chose the Queen city bee with a seasonal Peachy cake as my side. The peachy cake arrived and was so good I finished the whole thing. The pancake flavor was perfect and fluffy. The peaches were tender and juicy. The granola on top added the perfect crunch, and I couldn't get enough of the homemade whipped cream. This being said I was full and left no room for the huge sandwich! I took it with me for a late lunch and it held up well. The Queen city bee pairs some of the best ciabatta ive ever had with the complimenting flavors of apple, arugula, honey sauce, egg, and the Cincy fave Goetta (pork and oat patty, trust me its divine). My service was great! My server actually suggested the side of pancake when I couldn't decide between the two. The place was clean and bright. I LOVE the glass chandelier over the coffee bar! Great vibes & excellent energy. Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Luckily, we did not have a wait for 2 people. However, the restaurant filled up shortly afterwards. Sleepy Bee offers complimentary coffee for those who are waiting for a table, which is super nice. Our server Stephen was the bees knees. He was extremely pleasant and seemed super happy. It's refreshing to have a waiter with such a great spirit. A+ service. We ordered the Queen City Bee sandwich and the Blue Ash Smash. Both sandwiches were delicious. I visited while in Cincinnati for work. The bacon and red skin potatoes were delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were tasty but the syrup was not very sweet which took away from the taste. My peppermint tea with a bit of honey may have been the star of my meal. I love a good cup of hot tea. The staff was great and very attentive. Overall, it wasn't my type of place. I've had this restaurant bookmarked for awhile since they have vegan breakfast options and I finally ventured in today. Delicious! I tried the tofu scramble, roasted sweet potatoes and vegan sausage. I loved the scramble. The sausage was good and definitely had a "sausage" flavor but I would say the texture was a bit denser/tougher. The sweet potatoes weren't my favorite but I'm not a huge sweet potato fan so that's probably the only reason why. I tend to like crispier potatoes. I also got an oat milk cappuccino which I really enjoyed. I got there about 8:45 on a Sunday and was seated right away. They said I arrived at the perfect time because it gets very busy later in the morning. The hostess and waiter were friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great breakfast experience! Breakfast stop while on our weekend cinci trip! Sleepy bee is a good spot for breakfast/brunch fair that's fresh and won't weigh you down! I opted for the chorizo omelette and the other half chose the special pancake sausage sliders!! The chorizo omelette was good, not greasy like most traditional chorizo dishes. I added Avocado of course! Black beans were a nice touch, although I don't think the chipotle sauce was a home run. Boyfriend Enjoyed the sliders. The honey sauce included was out of this world. Sausage was not greasy and very lean! I love that it came from a Kentucky farm where the animals are grass fed with no hormones used. His complaints were the egg was a flat and almost absent and the pancakes lacked some flavor. Trendy little brunch place, but with overpriced and subpar quality food. The parking was a nightmare, there were limited spots and there was a workout class going on when we got there so can fewer spots were available. We did get seated immediately though, which I did not expect (we got there around 9:30a). I loved the look of this trendy little brunch place and our server was very friendly and did a great job, however, I did not care for the food and I thought the menu was a little too "hip" for my taste. I got a "build your own" omelet and I ordered sausage, onion, garlic, spinach and cheese with a side of the red potatoes. The omelet was very bland and did not have a lot of taste. My brother ordered the Avi omelet and said the same thing about his. I also did not like the breakfast potatoes. They had no taste other than straight potatoes. My boyfriend got the piggy pancakes and those were pretty good. I also got a vanilla latte, which is my go to drink, and this latte was unlike any vanilla latte I've ever had. It had kind of a bitter taste. For 3 people to eat and get coffee, it was almost $60, which I felt was overpriced for the amount and quality of food we got.
