Everything I've tried has been good. The fish tacos, potato tacos, chicken quesadilla, breakfast burrito, all very good. The chips are definitely average and I'm not fond of how many they give you. If I order a taco, they treat it like a whole meal and include a ton of chips. So when I order two tacos, a reasonable amount of food, they shower you in chips. I hope you have a pick up truck for all those chips. Damn. The atmosphere definitely leaves a lot to be desired. Feels like a cafeteria. Not the kind of place anyone really enjoys hanging out. I really enjoyed my experience here. The manager was really nice. I was driving down on the 101 for a break and though the place looked like another Panera Bread, the menu is outstanding. I had the two taco plate with salad. I like salsa bar and the sides like yam. I'd pass on the grill veggies. Nice chips and soda selection. Service has been pretty friendly and they serve some decent, beachy, gringo style Mexican food. They don't claim to be authentic but they certainly appeal to the gringo palate that can't get enough melted cheese on your refried beans and enchiladas or a half pound of shredded cheese on your fish tacos. I'm sure you can ask them to go light on the cheese if that's not your thing. I do actually enjoy this place when I'm in the mood for fish tacos, or semi-fast food. I have to say that I was shocked that Snapper Jacks did not have mostly 5 star reviews and then I started reading them. People were writing great reviews and then giving them 4 stars, what gives? Then I figured out what they are doing, they are worried this place will become too popular! My friend brought me here, and since then I brought my family, who then brought their friends and the word is spreading. I have to admit that I always order the tacos in the baked flour tortillas, and they are so good I just can't try anything else. I try, but then I see the tacos and next thing I know I have ordered them again. The Snapper Jack sauce is amazing. This place is so good that last week at an event in the valley, when it came time to send someone for lunch, we actually thought of having him make the 45 minute drive each way to Snapper Jacks. I'm a big fan of this place. My husband and I go once a week. I go back and forth on what I get. The BRC is of course a staple, the chorizo burrito is delicious but no matter what I decide to get I always have to have one of those crispy tacos. I go back and forth on getting the shrimp and snapper. Every now and again I get the potato one. No matter what, they are tasty. I come here for one thing.... their shrimp burrito! They don't skimp out on the shrimp, which I really appreciate, and it's never overcooked. They have a self-serve salsa bar with a delicious creamy salsa that I drench my burrito in and you get chips on the side of your meal to try out the rest of the salsa available at the bar. Parking can be a little bit tricky if you go at a bad time, but the restaurant is located in a huge shopping center, so you'll eventually find something. Would definitely recommend! read more

We love snapper jacks! The food is always great and the staff is so welcoming. Today, I called in a pickup order for lunch. We went to eat our burritos and they definitely weren't the quality that we were used to from this place. So, I headed back in and politely told them what my problems with the meal were and the manager was so sweet! He immediately apologized and refunded me! Unfortunately, for those that are gluten free, there are no entrees at this restaurant that are gluten free (as related to us by multiple employees). All of the sauces have gluten. My wife is gluten free, and at most similar type restaurants, she can at least order enchiladas, but cannot do so at this establishment. Therefore our family cannot eat here. read more

I have been taking my kid's here after school since this place opened. They love it and I don't mind it. The salsa is fresh and the kid's meal comes with great cinnamon crisps. I thought the quesadilla seemed pricey for what you get, but the chicken soft tacos are great. The customer service has always been good to great. I hate the parking lot situation though. read more

I ate here for lunch today--got a steak fajita burrito--and was so satisfied that I'm actually writing a review! My first one! From start to finish, I was thoroughly impressed with Snapper Jack's. It's inviting, bright, fun, and clean (which is a big deal to me!). The staff was great. They were friendly, happy, and always on the move. But, the highlight of the whole experience was definitely the salsa bar! There are nine salsas to choose from, each with its own distinct flavor. In particular, I was quite surprised by their melon salsa--so inventive! As for my meal, I had a bit of a struggle deciding between three of the items on the menu. I was tempted by the potato taco, the taco salad with chicken, and their fajita burrito with steak. After much deliberation, I finally went with the fajita burrito. Man, was this thing huge! A little tricky to handle, but well worth the effort. Every bite was a punch of flavor, the tortilla was soft and chewy, the steak was tender, the sauce was phenomenal, and the mild crunch of the bell peppers balanced it all perfectly. I topped my meal off with a handful of chips, more salsa, and a splash of iced tea, and left feeling completely fulfilled and pleased. I can't wait to bring my family and friends, and have this be my new lunch spot! read more

Well my main Snapper location is Camarillo but I recently stopped in the Snapper Jacks in Thousand Oaks and I couldn't be more satisfied! I really felt welcomed to the restaurant and any questions I had they answered with ease! Brett at the register especially was helpful in making the best selection for my meal. The Camarillo location is way better. So disappointed with today's visit. Our chip bag was a quarter of the way full. The rice was overcooked and tasted like it was sitting out for a while. The cinnamon chip portion was tiny. Just sad compared to the Camarillo location. Don't charge the prices you guys do for the portions you serve. I will start with the building. Very well done, the theme is cool and makes you believe they could be serving really good food here, then the food arrives. We ordered the chicken burrito and the egg breakfast burrito. (yuck) Who thinks it's a good idea to put lettuce in a burrito? Is it in a effort to make it look larger? And where's the chicken? While it was edible, I don't think places like Baja Fresh should get too worked up. The breakfast burrito, simply yuck. I'd guess it's one of the worst breakfast burritos I've ever had, and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and this was simply not to my liking. They've got a salsa bar and I only tried the mild, but when I saw the bar, I got excited... it looked beautiful with the many choices... but similar to the food, my salas was only average. I've heard it said... if the establishment has good salsa, you can be sure the food is great. We paid $18, for two drinks, and two burritos. (no rice or beans on the side, just burritos in a paper basket covered with chips. I've only been once, would I try it again? I can assure you, the only way I'd even remotely try something else from the menu would be if I had a very good coupon, but to go in there and pay what we did, I don't thinks so, there are other choices in town. We were there at 5PM, the staff seemed friendly, but seemed to hang around the counter area, as if they're on break. (??) But very friendly and welcoming, and the decor is very cool, it kind of reminds you of being on a holiday somewhere, I just wish the food was cheaper with a better taste. There were probably 20 people between the inside and the outside lovely patio, so someone surely likes the food, I guess I was just put off by a chicken burrito with more lettuce and beans then anything else.
