Options they offer but close seating area here
Arturo M.

Edit: HEALTH SCORE is C... I didn't know that before coming. Definitely not coming back!!!!! I was really looking forward to Sofeh because Persian food is one of my favorites and since we were already in Monterey Park it was an easy drive to their Los Angeles location. The reviews were strong so I went in with high hopes. Parking was the first headache because it's extremely limited around the area and we ended up walking from a few houses away after circling for a while. When we arrived, we realized it's all outdoor seating with no indoor option and on a warm sunny day that definitely made things uncomfortable. We approached the lady at the window to figure out how to order since there were no clear signs and the setup was a bit confusing. She wasn't outright rude but she wasn't friendly either, and that lack of warmth made the first impression feel cold. We ordered the lamb chops, chicken, and beef mix plate which came out to around sixty dollars for two people. The food took about twenty minutes to come out and you could tell it was freshly grilled by the smell, which I appreciated. When the food arrived it looked great and the portions were fair. The lamb chops were juicy and flavorful, the chicken was tender, and the beef was average. The rice had good texture and the salad was fine, but the sauces were laughably tiny, barely enough for a few bites. Unfortunately the biggest issue wasn't the food but the bugs. There were flies and bees constantly landing on the table and buzzing around our plates which made it impossible to relax. We tried to enjoy our meal but spent most of the time swatting them away. The fans they had running helped a little but not enough to make a difference. Another major disappointment was the lack of a restroom. For a restaurant serving food that you eat with your hands, that's a serious problem. They had hand sanitizer available but it's not the same as being able to wash your hands properly. Overall I would give Sofeh three out of five stars. The food itself was tasty, especially the lamb chops, but the overall dining experience fell short. Between the bugs, lack of shade, confusing ordering system, and no restroom, it's not somewhere I'd dine in again. It's better suited for takeout because while the food has potential, the atmosphere just doesn't make it worth sitting down for.

Second time here and came with my family. Beef lover plate was the best of the best. I never ate lamb and it was the bomb! Highly recommend this plate. Enjoy!

Ordered the lamb chop + chicken lule combo, some fries. Fries were delicious, but the lamb + chicken were rather dry, which was the main course of the meal. Portions are very generous. We definitely over ordered. Overall, a nice decently cheap meal. Good to stop by if it's convenient and you're hungry, but not worth a trek. Theres no indoor dining, but the patio area is pretty nice.

This is a small place with a very cute outdoor seating. There's not much shade from the sun though so bring your sunglasses or a hat. I got a plate of food. The chicken was flavorful but a bit dry. I'm not sure what the other meat was as it tasted funny. I really liked the salad though.

Celebrated my boyfriend's work anniversary here! It's a bit pricey (and their hummus portions are very small) but the portions make up for it. Everything's always fresh, service is quick and attentive. There's and indoor outdoor side patio with lots of seating. Parking can be a challenge to find sometimes. Overall a great spot to fill all your Mediterranean cravings!!

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for so long but just haven't had the opportunity so this past weekend I was in the area and decided to go. The restaurant is really cute with outdoor seating patio. Staff at the order counter were nice. The price point is a little higher than other similar cuisine establishments. I ordered the chicken kabob plate. The chicken was soo moist and flavorful!! The rice is ok, not very flavorful. The portions were great. I also ordered the lentil soup. The lentil soup needs more lentils, it was mostly liquid. I would definitely try this spot again and try something else on the menu.

Gyros Plate

Food is amazing. Heard about it through friends from Gas Co. we were not disappointed. BUT NO RESTROOMS! And it's dine in. We came in from Beverly Hills. The ride was long we needed the restroom. FOOD IS GREAT!

Why overpay at places like Raffi's Place, where the food feels overpriced without showing where the extra money went? The only downside was that the waitress pushed an appetizer on us twice when we really didn't need it. Two entrées are more than enough to fill you up. The restaurant has a really homey feeling inside, with about four small tables that make it feel cozy and welcoming. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable. My partner and I ordered the chicken shish kebabs with mejadra rice, salad, and sumac fries. Everything was delicious! The plate also came with hummus and pita, which were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The hummus was smooth, rich, and perfect with the warm pita. Hermon helped recommend our food, cooked it, and even served us. She was so kind and made the whole experience feel really personal. She also offered us complimentary baklava, which was amazing. It had the most soft, chewy texture with just enough sweetness. When I asked her what the secret ingredient was, she just smiled and said she couldn't spoil it so you'll have to try it for yourself! You absolutely MUST order the spicy garlic potatoes (with the garlic sauce, save some to accompany the rest of your meal) and the flash fried cauliflower. I lived nearby and watched the progress as the owner and his father spent nearly two years building out the beautiful interior of the restaurant themselves.
