I wish this place had seating since we had to walk to whole eats to enjoy our food warm. Everything was super tasty and well made. The burritos were cooked perfectly with so much flavor and moistness. Our burritos were practically making juice. It was yummy and their Agua Frescas that aren't pictured were so GOOD flavor was so prominent and I loved the spicyness coming from the horchata with all the cinnamon! Even the Jamacia was so good! Chips from the guac and chip combo were kinda stale and passable. Super yummy food here !

Son Del North 177 Orchard St. New York, NY 10002 Pollo Asado Carne Asada Appearance: 8.9/10 Taste: 10/10 Located approximately 1.5 miles from the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian walkway is a Mexican spot specializing in Sonoran style burritos. Unlike traditional burritos, these do not include rice. Pollo Asado: This burrito was filled with grilled chicken and strips of poblano peppers. Also included is a cup of salsa verde, which gave it a nice kick. Carne Asada: This burrito may look small in size, but it was packed with protein and flavor. The employee unintentionally gave me green sauce instead of red sauce, but it was still finger lickin' good. What really caught my eye on both burritos was the line of char marks from the grill. The dining section is limited, so I recommend taking the order to go. This location may be a hole in the wall, but its riceless burritos are superior. #sondelnorth #orchardstreet #OrchardSt #CarneAsada #polloasado #SonoranStyle #sonoranburritos #charmarks

Had high hopes after hearing so many rave reviews about son del north. Unfortunately we thought it was average at best. To start off, we ordered 3 burritos. The breakfast burrito, pollo asado, and frijoles con queso. We made the mistake of not checking our order before getting home and realized they forgot our frijoles con queso burrito. Huge bummer since that was the one I was most excited to try, but that's on us for not checking. The tortilla itself on the burrito is great. Super soft and really fresh. That's about the only thing we enjoyed. The pollo asado and breakfast burritos were fine. We've had better at other places in the area. The sauce is ok. I think overall it was just fine, nothing that really wowed us.

I came to Son Del North after seeing all the hype on social media, and I'm glad I did. They are known for their doughy tortillas, and I got their bean and cheese burrito with steak and pico. The place is small, but service was so fast! After ordering, it only took around 5 minutes until my food came. The burrito was great! I typically don't like bean and cheese, but this place is the exception. The bean and cheese had such a good ratio and adding the steak and pico was a game changer to add more texture. I loved how soft and doughy the tortilla was. I also asked our cashier her favorite burrito, and she said the chicken one was her best! Overall, we had a great time and would recommend!

wowwwww i think this is my fav burrito ever, it's truly worth the visit the food: carne asada burrito is THE best option. it's so flavorful and the meat is so smokey, the tortilla is also chewy and perfectly crisp. a dip in the sauce every time makes it perfect!!!! the space: so small, two tiny benches and one table outside the service: not memorable

When the scent of grilled meat hits you on Orchard St, resistance is futile. Walked into Son del North and came out with a carne asada burrito the size of a forearm. No tables, no chairs, no problem--real men eat burritos standing up like gladiators. Service? Fast. Price? Fair. Burrito? A high-quality heavyweight contender (though that sauce on the side lowkey stole the spotlight). If you're prowling the Lower East Side and need a quick burrito fix, this spot is a solid move. Verdict: burrito craving--handled like a champ.

The tortilla lives up to the hype. It's probably the best tortilla I've ever had. But the rest of the burrito is kind of lacking in flavor tbh. The breakfast one was really mushy. Wish it had lettuce or smtg. Chicken and steak were good maybe steak was better but just wanted more flavor!!! Also there is literally 0 seating only a small bench inside.

Got the bean and cheese and it was fine but just on its own it wasnt really doing it for me. The salsa is where the magic is and with it this burrito is so good, so the tiny little container they give of it is definitely not enough.

honestly really enjoyed the cauliflower chorizo and potato burrito. it was super flavorful and i added guacamole which gave it the creaminess. I also got it with a side of their green sauce n it hit!!! it was very filling too. wish all the little add ons weren't so expensive but it was one of the best vegan/vegetarian burritos I've had in the city!!

I had been craving burritos for a while now and decided to stop by Son Del North to see of their burritos lived up to the hype. They indeed hit the spot!! I actually love that their burritos are packed with beans and meats without rice. The meat is super well seasoned and had the right amount of fat. The ratio of protein to cheese to beans was well balanced. The tortilla was soft, chewy, and held everything together. The green sauce had a thicker texture with a subtle spice kick. There are some tables and one bench outside. Food came out at a reasonable time. Got my cravings fixed for sure!!!

Great bean and cheese burrito, accompanied by a yummy salsa. No complaints here! It is the perfect size and is just filling enough without making you feel gross. I will for sure be back :)

Delicious burrito spot that makes grilled burritos without rice! I'm from SF and I've eaten many great burritos and this one was one of them. From the tortilla to all the fillings and the sauce, everything was tasty. This spot is mostly takeout with a few standing tables to eat outside. I got the cauliflower chorizo and potatoes burrito and added guacamole for an extra charge. It was vegan and delicious! The cauliflower had so much flavor. I'm not a vegan myself but opted to try it since it was a lighter option than the meat and I really enjoyed it. My friends got the chicken and carne asada burritos and said they enjoyed them

I get the hype! I've been looking for a good breakfast taco spot but this is the closest I've found - just wish the burrito was a bit smaller. You can easily share with someone! I got the breakfast burrito with eggs and everything on it. Get more of the green jalapeño sauce and you are set!!

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
