What a wonderful surprise inside Atlanta History Center! Food is mostly lighter fare of soups/salads, which is perfect snack while visiting the museum. My choice was the turkey chili which was wonderful, also had refreshing iced tea. Others in my group had the salads which they enjoyed. Service is simple where you order from the counter, get your order, grab a table to eat. Line at the counter can be long, but it moves quickly. Free WiFi here too. Nice decor and great location near the front of the museum. Additional recommendations: About 10 of us did 4 mile urban walk around this area with its immaculate homes/gardens. Also see my review of the Atlanta History Center for other tips. Our go to place when visiting the museum. Enjoy!

I've been wanting to try out Souper Jenny's for quite some time now, and I'm so happy I had the opportunity to this week because it was even better than expected! This location is actually inside the Atlanta History Center just to the left upon entrance, and also connected with Brash Coffee Shop. It's a beautiful space, with two-level seating options and great *free* wifi if you plan to get some work done during your visit like I did. There was quite a long line that began around Noon but it moved quickly and was well worth the short wait. Souper Jenny's is fast-casual where you order at the counter, and the soups/daily specials offered that day are written out on white boards leading up to the counter which is very helpful. They offered four different types of soups during my visit, and the Miso Lemongrass Chicken stood out to me the most and so I went with it! You can get a combo with two sides, or just order a la carte. They are obviously most well-known for their incredible homemade soups, but they also offer salads and sandwiches as well. I was also lucky enough to visit on a day where they were offering a BOGO deal for the soups in their refrigerator so of course I had to take advantage and grabbed a couple bowls of their chicken chowder soups to-go which I enjoyed reheated at home. It was honestly even more delicious than the miso! I know I will be back for another visit at this or another location in the city next time I am headed south towards the city!

I love that this place has different kinds of soups and they change it out! Such a comfort food for me. This one is located in the Atlanta History Center. Nice place to work from and a lot of seating, the soup was great!

I'm so sad I can't remember the name of my bagel sandwich, but it was a delicious homemade bagel breakfast sandwich - no complaints. We also got one of the special French toast to share. It was like a bananas, foster French toast very delicious was very full after eating both of these. Inside is like a upgraded deli. Service was fast and friendly.

Ok this is the place to go for lunch, hands down the cutest shop! The atmosphere and service is just amazing. They change their menu daily so sign up for the emails. Even if im not going in i read the email menu to see what kind of soups, salads, and sandwiches they can offer at another time. Theres jennys cookbooks and you can buy large soup to go in containers. Recommend to freeze and use at a later date if you really like it! I got the gazpacho which typically is my favorite and it was fresh. I couldnt eat the whole bowl because it was too much freshness for me! My husband got the turkey chili which they offer everyday on their menu- i think this is the one item that does not change. The outdoor seating is so calming and covered patio. A few steps away they have a massive garden! We spent honestly 30 minutes just walking around it and seeing all of their veggies they grow! Its a super cute lunch date spot and go earlier because they only make enough for the day! Such a sustainable concept.

This place is my favorite weekend routine, a stop here with their rotating menu of soups, sandwiches, and salad, with honorable mentions of their different fresh baked cookies. My boyfriend and I go frequently, and love trying a different soup each time, I think my favorite though was the chicken corn chowder. I appreciate that they give information on all dietary restrictions, and have the option for take home soups and I've even seen premade dinners for 4. The service is quick because they have all the soups available and sandwiches are premade ready to pass out, and they will even let you taste test most of the salads and soups! This location is specifically inside of a museum so the vibe is very family friendly and it is always busy!

Souper Jenny... oh how I've missed you! Back in Atlanta to visit after more than a decade, Souper Jenny was one of the places that my girlfriends and I knew we wanted to visit, and I am so glad we did. Souper Jenny was everything I remembered and more... super fresh and delicious soups, sandwiches and salads. Service with a smile, and just overall good vibes. I love this location at the Atlanta History Center... it has so much character. If I lived in the area, I would be eating here daily!

"Zamn Zaddy!" is right!…read more It took me 2-days to consume the huge Classic Chicken Caesar "Sammich" but it was worth savoring EVERY delicious bite! Additionally, I purchased the Kale Caesar salad as I've been on a long hunt for an all-Kale Caesar salad. Thankfully, social media led me to try this place. The customer service was excellent. She was attentive, patient, and made me feel very welcomed (felt like a hug). This vendor is located inside of Politan Row at Colony Square, so the ambiance was lively but not too loud for a Sunday. Can't wait to return! I'll take more food pics next time...ya girl was hungry LOL!

You place your order at the register and when your food is ready they call your name out. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad sandwich, the bread pudding and my friend ordered the tuna melt . The food came out fresh and did not take a long time to be prepared. I enjoyed every bite of my sandwich. It was flavorful and the portion size was great. Essentially you can eat 1/2 of the sandwich and save the other half for a second meal. Now the bread pudding was a disappointment. It was dry and lacked flavor, I would not recommend. My friend enjoyed her tuna melt, the only feedback she had was that the press did not allow for the inside of the sandwich to be warm. She thought the entire sandwich would be warm. I will be back for the chicken Caesar salad sandwich for sure !!

I can tell you they were wrong. The sandwich contained a great portion of meat. You can see from my photos that it was a substantial portion of meat. The meat itself was tender as can be and was good Italian mortadella that almost melts in your mouth. It also had excellent pesto sauce on the sandwich and some of the best cheese around. I just got back from 2 months in Italy and this sandwich was as good as anything I had there. While I was there I had to try one of everything so for pastry I tried a sfogliata which is a multi layered pastry filled with a vanilla custard. This was either brought in directly from Italy or made by an Italian chef. It tasted just like it should. Then I tried the gelato. I had the stracciatella which was very good. Just two notes here though 1) the gelato temp is too cold. You need to let it warm a little before you eat it to get the full flavor 2) the pistacchio gelato served is bright green. This is not a sign of good pistacchio. Good pistacchio should be more of a khaki brownish green color Then I tried the espresso. It tasted great It was very nice inside. Simple setup looking like a gelateria. The service was friendly , fast , and efficient. The best that can be asked for. The highlight of the visit was actually running into Mr. Gio DiPalma that owns the establishment and other restaurants around town. He sat at a table and watched operations. It was nice to to see him personally checking on performance at his establishments

The Panini bread with some of the best I've had in a long time... soft, yet crispy-ish on the outside. Everything about the sandwich was fantastic with one exception: there was a slightly fishy taste on some bites. Needless to say, with the only ingredients being fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, prosciutto, and arugula, not sure where the fishy taste came from. The shop is average looking. I did not eat the gelato, but it looked very good. Service was efficient, but not overly friendly or personable. Person at the counter was more of an order taker, but there were no social greetings exchanged. The bread was so good that I would definitely go back if I had a craving for an Italian sandwich.

The homemade sides follow that same theme: simple dishes done very well, the kind of comfort food that feels nostalgic and reminds you of meals you've had at home. At the same time, that simplicity can cut both ways. Since the ingredients and preparations are fairly straightforward, it does feel like the kind of food you could recreate at home without too much trouble. Because of that, it may not be somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit frequently.
