We drove all the way from Los Angeles and specifically chose this restaurant. We liked it so much that we came here twice in two days! The food tastes great, especially their special noodles. The way they pair different dishes with different types of noodles is very unique and refreshing, and the flavors are delicious. We ordered the stir-fried pork rice noodles, the smoked tofu and cured pork rice noodles, and the braised beef noodles. Everything tasted really good, and even the kids loved it. The menu is digital and you order directly from the device. They had a promo (free dumplings with minimum purchase) so I definitely took advantage of that offer. Once you've added all your items on the order, you'll hit submit and I think the kitchen will receive your orders. So, basically there's no personal interaction with the servers at all. All the server did was bring you a jar of water with 2 paper cups and you'll have to self serve. Thankfully, the server brought our food to the table because we thought we had to pick up our food from the kitchen During our meal, we were not approached by any servers at any point of time asking if we needed anything else or how was our meal. Overpriced overall, ok quality, minimal customer service. $95 (with tax, before tip) for 3 people and 6 items. You scan a QR code to order menu items; no staff to take your order (so you can't ask questions). Very convenient, but it would have been nice to have some human interaction. We only saw staff when they delivered dishes to the table, or picked up dirty dishes on their way by. Cucumber salad was VERY garlicky; only 1 of 3 of us liked it. Portion was decent for $12.50. Pork Soup Dumplings were tasty, but they do not provide any small dishes for you to hold your soy/vinegar/chilis. So you had to pour it directly into your soup dumpling individually, use your soup bowl, or pour it on your flat plate. $13 for 8. Pork Yummy Yummy Bao was not. Firm flattened meatball inside a fairly tough steamed bun. Not at all like the picture, which looked moist & fluffy. It had a chewy skin, as if microwaved, though it was served in a bamboo steamer...so not sure about that issue. $11.50 for 4 (we left one untouched). Pork Fried Rice ($15.50) and the Beef Noodle Soup Pot ($25) were both very good...and our two favorites. The noodles were fresh & chewy, the broth had very good flavor, and the beef slices were thin, and not fatty; large serving to share for a table. Black Golden Custard Bun $9.50 for 3 pieces. The hot steamed bun's "custard" was runny sauce with the consistency & color of an egg yolk. It leaked all over the plate, & your fingers, when you opened it up, and it had an unpleasant grainy texture. It looked so good, too...until we ate them. :( Overall, I would say the food wasn't "bad", but it certainly wasn't good. The algorithm got me and I finally tried this place. Definitely worth checking out but there were some flaws. Let me explain. I started with the soup pan fried buns. First of all, customer service is non existent here Before I even started my meal, I used the restroom and noticed they were in the middle of receiving a shipment. I happened to touch a product that clearly needed refrigeration, and it felt like it had been sitting out for a while.....it was already starting to defrost. I decided to give it a chance and ordered the beef chow mein, expecting fresh noodles--especially since there's signage outside advertising "premium handmade".
