The Mediterranean doner wrap ($10.75) was very average. The beef and lamb tasted like it had been sitting out/dried up and the hummus was almost non-existent. The lavash wrap was very dry. The street cart fries ($9.50) had a small amount of garlic aioli and feta. I barely tasted the garlic. It was mostly fries with a small amount of topping. Ookkk this review is way over due.... I probably have Spitz at least once a week which is saying something. I just really freaking love their food!!! Feel like you want some hummus?? Done, their hummus is freakin delicious (especially with their fried pita strips...*drool*). Our absolute fav is the street cart donor with mixed meat. I legitimately never order anything else because this wrap just does it for me! So why not a 5 star review you ask?? Well.... it is a bit expensive for a meal. And parking/seating can be a nightmare because the place is so tiny!! They have seats outside but if it's not a nice day outside, you may be out of luck. I have now been to this location twice. The first time I had a pretty good experience, which is why I bothered to come back again. Both times I got the same exact order (Mediterranean wrap, side greek salad, and the street cart fries). The first time all of our food was loaded and fresh and super yummy, and the service was good. However, coming back this week, it was not a positive experience. We walked-in to place a to-go order and were met by employees who made as feel like we were an inconvenience. They were short and rude. We wanted the beef & lamb combo in our wraps, and the employee snapped that it would take at least 20 minutes to make it because they were out. She made it seem like was trying to talk us out of ordering it, but we said, fine, no problem we will wait. We came back 20 min later and our food was ready, but it was all cold when we opened it. Additionally the fries, had barely anything on top of them, and my Greek salad LITERALLY had one small piece of tomato and one small olive. Based on how we were treated and how our food was this time, I don't know that I'd come back. It was deeply disappointing. The quality of service and food definitely has gone down hill. read more

There person that was there said let me call the manager the gentleman name was Angel. My honest review is that place is pretty good. It didn't blow me away, but I would come back. Loved the atmosphere, fries, you can tell ingredients are fresh, and the bowl portion was large enough that I could save half for a meal the next day. My couple critiques are that things could be seasoned better (my bowl was good just needed maybe a bit more salt and idk just a squeeze of lemon? And I didn't like the falafel as I believe there is cinnamon in the mix and that flavor comes through more than any anything, and they weren't as crispy as other bomb falafels I've had in my life. Ill back next time when needing something healthy, filling, quick, and priced reasonably well. My friend and I stopped here between bar hopping and it was the perfect atmosphere outside in the patio to have a good conversation. The tables are large enough to that you could have a group. Had a nice lunch here one weekday afternoon and after literally years of driving by this place, I see now that I waited too long to try it. I also see why it has lasted as long as it has on this stretch of Colorado Blvd near the Eagle Rock Plaza. You order at the counter, take a number and wait for your food to be brought to your table. I went with the street cart doner ($9). As stated on their menus, it's their most popular wrap. I opted fpr the beef/lamb option with fries on the side. This wrap comes with lavash chips, tomatoes, cabbage, LTO, cucumbers & tzatziki sauce all inside it. It was very tasty. I liked it. Not quite the classic gyro I've been craving for many years now but it was different. A good different. The meat was shaved thin off the spit and there was a good amount of it. It had good flavor. It wasnt too dry. And all the ingredients went well together. The fries were also cooked perfectly. I didnt have to ask them to cook them well done as they came out perfectly crispy. I paired my meal with a lemonade. Free refills were clutch. One thing that I read from a fellow Yelper whose name I forgot was that the food takes long to get ready and that maybe it's better to order ahead if you know what you want to eat. Since it was our first time there, we just ordered when we got there and saw how it went. We waited a good 20-25 mins for our food to be made and brought to our table in the outside patio. It was worth the wait but I thought the wait was too long. I did see a good amount of people picking up to-go orders so that may be why the backup for our food to be cooked. Parking is limited. We found parking out front, luckily. Outside patio with picnic tables and umbrellas is a nice area to enjoy your meal. There are some tables inside as well. Restrooms are inside. I'm completely in love with Spitz. I can't wait to introduce someone else to this amazing spot just as one of my friends did to me. The wraps are very good. Since this was my first time I ordered the same item as my friends. I'm thinking I'll have it on bread next time instead of the Lavash. This was the Lamb & Beef wrap. The most amazing Fries that I've ever had is here. It's just packed with goodness; garlic sauce, red and green bell peppers, and so much more. My first bite of the fries had me feeling like i was in heaven. Fries are MUST order item. You will not be disappointed. The ordering process is simple and we received our food very quickly. They have board games which makes the waiting process feel so much shorter. The outdoor seating is great and the long benches can acommodate large parties. There's also some indoor seating as well. From the outside it's colorful and inviting. It's outdoor seating, so I'm glad it was a nice day out. I ordered the Gyro Combo meal. It was priced well and came quick. I was expecting a little more from the Gyro, but overall it was really good and would go back. The pita was a little crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was super flavorful, but I think it took away from what was on the inside. The fries were well seasoned and personally my favorite kind. The garlic sauce was really good. I loved Spitz since the first time I've tried it years ago in Little Tokyo. This past weekend was the first time I've tried the Spitz in Eagle Rock. It's become my favorite Spitz so far. The only downside is the parking. =FOOD= I'd recommend getting these as wraps because they're so full of yummy ingredients that they can easily fall out of a sandwich. 1) Street Cart Doner Wrap (with lamb) - SO GOOD! GET THIS! garlic aioli and fried lavash chips on top of the romaine, onion, cucumber, green pepper, tomato, tzatziki and chili sauce. There was no shortage of lamb meat in this wrap, however, it was kind of hard to really taste the actual lamb since all of the other delicious ingredients were so dominating. I pulled out a few pieces of lamb to taste, and it did have some lamb flavor. Overall, this was a good wrap. This is their most popular Doner, and for good reason! 2) Mediterranean Doner Wrap (with beef) - AMAZING! GET THIS! Of all the times I've been to a Spitz, this is the first time I've actually tried the Mediterranean Doner. It was so good! Hummus, kalamata olives and feta on top of the normal romaine, onion, cucumber, green pepper, tomato, tzatziki and chili sauce. Like the Street Cart, the beef was difficult to taste since the delicious hummus, olives and feta were very flavorful. I loved this wrap...and I hate to say it...but I loved it more than the Street Cart Doner! If you're a hummus and olive lover, be sure to get this one! It's my favorite so far! 3) Street Cart Fries (with mixed meat) - DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN! We picked "regular fries" over sweet potato since it was suggested by the server. Notice the quotation marks? That's because those fries are NOT regular! They were seasoned so well! Honestly, if we just ordered one side normal fries (nothing on it) would've been absolutely delicious! Boyfriend and I were so full from our Doners, but we really didn't want to stop eating these! WOW...this alone is a full meal! =SERVICE= The man who took my order is named Mark. This dude was EXCELLENT! He was so patient and so nice while I was thinking about how I wanted my order to be like. He gave me his honest suggestions and helped boyfriend and me come up with the perfect lunch! This man is awesome and deserves a round of applause. =AMBIENCE= Tired of the boring conversation you're having with the person in front of you? No problem...play a game with them instead! This place is full of games! They have playing cards, UNO, Battleship, Connect Four, Jenga, and LOADS more! The majority of the seating is outdoors in their patio, and it is perfect for any day that isn't raining! There are seats inside, but it's limited so get there early because this place gets packed! The parking here is horrrrible. 3 parking spots only, good luck finding parking on the streets. We had to park across the street in a residential parking and walk a good ways to get here. Been on my radar for quite some time, the street cart nachos were unreal, very unique and very good however it was quite salty not sure if it was all the flavors combined or if it was the actual feta cheese it was a lil salty for my tastebuds but it didn't stop me from munching down on them. They were great! I highly recommend it makes a great sharer amongst friends. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating, I love the interior of the restaurant, very hipster looking and overall the restaurant was clean, they even have board games that you play. Their meat is not your typical chunks of meat that you would expect. It's shaved and crafted into delicious wraps, sandwiches and salads. We got a sandwich and a wrap, I definitely liked the wrap the best. It was very good. The prices are so so $29.00 for 2 people which included, one wrap, one sandwich and one street fries. Spitz claims tö be the höme of the döner kebab, a Turkish take ön the shawerma, which is basically meat ön a spit hence the restaurant's name. Sadly, there is nöthing Turkish aböut this place because it was started by a cöuple of white dudes that decided tö "Califörnize" everything. Just öne löök at the neön pink hummus and you will realize that this shit is göing tö suck. * BTW by adding the umlaut tö the letter "o" does my review löök möre legitimate? The wife and I went on a Friday night and the place was a clusterfuck. They had at least 5 employees, yet their system for handling customers was über inefficient. The cashier girl that was wearing this green Yoshi hat backwards was manning the register, answering the phones, and scooping gelato ice cream while the rest of the workers were busy doing their own unorganized shit. I guess you can say she was wearing too many hats... uugh! Furthermore, instead of taking care of the customers IN the restaurant, every time the phone rang she would place her priority on take out customers. Also, there are a limited number of tables and chairs and since it had rained the night before we did want to freeze our asses off on the patio. So we ended up sitting at a filthy table because sadly, none of the other 4 employees seemed to be tasked with cleaning up the tables and floors... so basically customers were left to clean the tables themselves. For the food, we ordered their flagship dish, the street cart döner as a wrap and upgraded the fries to the street cart fries. We also ordered the fried pita strips with hummus. The wrap consisted of lettuce, red onions, cucumbers, green peppers, tomatos, yogurt, and an orange-tinged garlicky sauce, and the street cart fries were basically fries topped with more oompa-loompa sauce, red onions, tomatos, feta cheese, olives, and pepperoncinis. As if the orange sauce that reminded me of John Boehner's face wasn't salty enough, the salty feta, the salty marinated olives, and the salty pickled pepperoncinis took the entire street cart fries to a whole new level of saltiness that I must have looked like I was doing the Harlem Shake as I repeatedly tried to wash down the salt with iced tea. The fries are not just normal fries, they have such great seasoning on it. The sauce on the fries is delicious too! The veggies topped on the fries help balance out the fries. The doner was delicious too! TIP: ADD SOME SRIRACHA into your doner, it will enhance the flavor and you just won't stop eating. This was my first time trying Spitz and I had the Streetcar Wrap with Chicken, and sweet potato fries ($19?). They also have the option of beef & lamb (combined, not separate). The wraps were big, fresh, and they also gave a lot of fries. I liked mine a lot! 3 of my friends got the Mediterranean Wrap, and none of theirs had any Kalamata Olives for some reason? They also had a self service bar to the side with napkins, take out boxes, water, sauces, and board/cars games. Their sauces were flavourful and spicy. However, the orders took a pretty long time to come out. It took us around 25 minutes to get our orders. They also forgot two of our orders, and instead of asking us what they missed, they told us when we asked them that they knew they forgot something but didn't know what they forgot? So I'm unsure if they were waiting for us to tell them but I felt like they could've just come and asked us if we were missing anything. They gave us extra fries to apologise though, which was nice. We also signed up for the app to get 20% off our first order, but the employee didn't know how to activate the 20% off when we asked, so we didn't get it. There's only outdoor bench seating, but there's plenty seating for the space they have and they also have heat lamps, so it's not cold out. read more
