The Eagle Rock location is either much worse than the Los Feliz location, or I just got pickier over the years. Could be either one, really. All I know is that my 'street cart doner' was itsy bitsy - like one of those new skinny soda cans - and like eating something rolled in stale matzoh. Lavash is nothing like stale matzoh - ask anyone in those looooong weekend lines stretching out of the Persian markets that bake their own fresh. We go to the japantown location so we were in the area and figured we eat here. We ordered the street cart doner wrap and the berliner wrap. The Berliner wrap was soggy and the ingredients just didn't marry well together. I've had it as a bowl and it was good but the wrap just didn't taste equally the same. Stopped in for dinner the other night with the hubs after reading all the great vegetarian recommended reviews. Yelpers did me wrong this time. These guys put the AWFUL in FALAFEL. Seriously. So disappointed. First of all, parking is a freaking nightmare. At least it is on Sundays when the church crowd is fiercely taking over the area. Spitz does have a private lot, but it only accommodates like three small cars. We parked in the neighborhood over by Target and walked up. I ordered their Mediterranean Doner with falafel (hummus, kalamata olives, feta, romaine, cabbage, tomato, onion, cukes, and tzatziki), and he ordered the Berlin Doner with falafel (red sauce, feta, slaw, sumac, tomato, onion, cukes, and tzatziki). We combo'd our orders with a side and a drink for a whopping $4.75 more. I went with fries and he went with crispy garbanzos w/ olives. We both went with iced tea (which was not iced but tepid). The iced tea was the best part of our meal. Surprisingly not sweet but just right. The wraps were incredibly dry and tasted pretty much the same despite variations in ingredients and sauces. They were also very bland. The sides were insanely salty. It was absurd the amount of crispy (read: fried) garbanzos there were. More than a 15oz can's worth for sure. How can one person eat that many garbanzos?! (And I LOVE garbanzos.) Super unimpressed. We will never eat here ever again. What a waste of $40. read more

came here for a quick dinner on a monday night. thankfully they have happy hour here until 7pm, so that was kind of cool to partake of and grab a drink + the berliner fries (which are huge for $5). I got the remix bowl with chicken and falafel and it was incredibly filling. i ended up having to take it home. it's a lovely bowl with a lot of different elements. i also got the side of chickpeas, which are nice and crispy. they're a fun little snack to have on the side. they also come with some fried olives in the mix, so that was a pleasant surprise. the sauces they have here are yummy as well! My only qualm with the place is that it kind of took forever to get your food. i think bc they have such a small kitchen, plus everyone orders ahead... we had to wait a while to get our food even though there wasn't really anyone ordering at the restaurant. I've been to other locations but are pretty quick w service. Overall tho, the food is always good and consistent, and this is a place I can easily recommend to eat at or for meet ups. read more

I ordered a salad and a drink through postmates. Didn't receive the drink or the salad dressing. I called to see if I could just go pick it up and was told they were closing and that I could pick it up the next day (salad dressing and drink). Obviously I'm not waiting a day to eat so I suggested I could get a new salad tomorrow and the person on the phone didn't exactly say yes or no. So I came in and was told we're not replacing your entire salad because you didn't get the dressing although they did offer the drink. I did expect a replacement considering they forgot two things. I've been here two days in a row now. So many places in town now offer similar fare so its nice when one stands out. Spitz stands out. The decor is different and cool. Nice outdoor deck with shading and good size tables. The place is clean. On employee recommendation, I had the beef/lamb Doner with Pommes wrap - Very tasty. Everything seemed fresh. The meat is non-kosher and non-halal. I really like the idea that you can get sandwich versions of all their doners. They also do falafels and everything can be made vegan or vegetarian if you want it. It was the perfect lunch stop for my day. I will definitely be back for more! read more

Disappointed in the app. Had errors and was charged twice via credit card. When I called the store the customer service was a bit lacking. I believe the app or direct website is best instead of ordering through a third party so I tried to do a phone order to correct the situation. But the manager was not there so they didn't entertain taking my order. I only hope for a phone call from their manager but I don't feel that with where technology has gone with app doesn't mean that you cannot go old school and take a phone order. I guess I can use this place as my go to for "to go" orders anymore. A little sad the food is good but as a busy and working mom the service matters. read more

But here's the deal: you need to spring for AC in the Eagle Rock location _for your staff_, who are cooking in what I would estimate is a temperature easily approaching 100. Obviously this is bad when there's a heat wave, but even on an average warm LA day these are pretty intolerable working conditions. I don't know if I can continue to support Spitz if it has its employees - who don't complain, but I'm just doing so on their behalf - in these conditions. Thanks for your consideration. read more

I would give it 5 stars for when you order and eat at the restaurant; but the fact of the matter is that we've ordered delivery at least 5x, and each and every time, it's shockingly subpar. When you eat-in, the portions are great. When we've ordered delivery, the portions are puny and/or items are missing. When items have been missing, we have tried to call the restaurant, but no one answers (for like, HOURS). I can't explain it. Do they purposefully half-ass delivery orders? I hope not, but after 5x it's either the world's worst luck or... Here's a picture of my street car doner from tonight's delivery (to be fair, I already ate about 1/3 to 1/2 of the half wrap--but it shouldn't be this lacking). There was like 2-3 pieces of meat, and a whole lotta' wrap. I also ordered a small pita strips, and it came with 5 really thin pieces (when you order at the restaurant, it comes with much more). Ambience: Before you even enter you automatically feel the vibe of this place with all the art work done on the walls. It's a low key, chill environment with bomb food. The Eagle Rock location is spacious with a game room and bar. The game room has a shuffleboard but there's also a table with games that you can play while you enjoy your kabobs. Food: Spitz serves Mediterranean street food. I ordered the doner kabob with chicken. It's their most popular kabob and it comes with romaine, cabbage, tomato, onion, green pepper, cucumber, tzatziki, garlic aioli, fried lavash chips, and your choice of protein. The doner kabob is one of the best I've ever had. The portion size is big, its packed with ingredients, the chicken is grilled and seasoned well, and overall flavorful. You have the option to request vegan or vegetarian as well. I also ordered the street cart fries. The fries come piled on with garlic aioli, feta cheese, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, olives, pepperoncinies. You have the option of ordering them with the works which includes a choice of meat and zesty feta. Overall the environment is chill and the food is great. Definitely a place to try! read more

Zesty, flavorful, and overall amazing! I love going to Spitz when I'm craving a good Mediterranean wrap. Prior to become pescetarian, I would always get their beef/lamb gyro which was amazing, but now I get the falafel which is just as good. I have tried a few of the wraps and all of them have been delicious. I ordered the Spicy Doner the other day and it was just a bit too spicy for my liking. Street Cart fries are amazing, and they have a delicious iced tea. There are a few tables inside but most of the seating is outside. Lots of umbrellas to keep the patio shady, and they even have cards to keep you entertained. The staff here is very friendly and I have never had a problem with the service or food. read more

Grabbed the lamb n beef sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. Everything was great and left stuffed.
