I have to play the devil's advocate here. On weekend's, the place is packed, but for it's popularity, I didn't find the food to be that much different from other informal diners. The portions tend to be a bit smaller than other places. At the same time, the cost of each entree is a little more pricey. Again, the place gets packed so you won't get a lot of personal service which may be good and bad. The one good thing is that they won't pressure you to get moving especially since there's a long line outside. Parking is a little challenging since the restaurant is on a busy street. This is my favorite place for breakfast in Burlingame. The service is always good and for the type of place it is, the food is served fairly quickly. I love the Italian Fritatta !!! I usually go with my wife during the week, so I do not know how it is on weekends when they seem to draw a large crowd. I've also had the eggs Benedict and an egg dish that was topped off with crab meat that the name escapes me at the moment...both were quite tasty. I've skipped out on IHOP and go to stacks in burlingame any day. I like their egg omelets, hash browns, crepes and of course their pancakes. The place for the best comfort food. HORRIBLE!! First of all my coffee was cold, second the waiter was extremely rude and the food was just ok. I had the veggie scramble, hardly any flavor and the veggies i guess are served raw, they dont cook them unless you ask. The pancakes are descent. Best breakfast I've had so far in the Bay area. The blueberry pancakes were delicious and packed with blueberries. Also, we had the Applewood bacon avocado omelette. It was also really good, but it didn't have much avocado in it. The potatoes that came with it were awesome and really flavorful! I would highly recommend for breakfast! And even though I am not a big banana (or pancake) person the banana macadamia coconut pancake is pure heaven. When I visit the Bay Area I always make a special trip for one of those pancakes. i went on a sunday morning around 1030. cousins were early and put our names down. the overall wait, i'd say, is quite long as there was a line outside. i got the italian scram (italian sausage, onion, mushrooms, black olives, mozzarella cheese with marinara sauce). it was basically a pizza with an egg base instead of cheese/crust. it was served with potatoes, a bagel and coffee. the italian scram was good; the bagel and the potatoes not so much. ask to be seated outside if it's available and a nice day. it was a nice touch and allowed for good conversation..besides the interior decoration isnt all that anyways & from the yelpers below, i guess you cant hear your guests too well inside ps i hear the other stacks are better (san fran and menlo park) read more

Total let down. This place gets jammed on the weekends which is not their fault but sucks nonetheless. The food was ok but they tried to do too much. Service was hectic. I will probably give it another try but I could live without. read more

I don't understand how this place has good reviews. Their pallets must be destroyed or some reviewers have a low basis of standard. The possibility of management hiring people to post is also prevalent. Moving forward, I ordered the steak and eggs and a fruit crepe. The fruit crepe hardly included any bananas and was predominantly canned pineapples with a few blueberries and strawberries mixed in. The steak was a poorly sized and tasting sirloin cut and hardly worth the 13 dollars it cost me. I will never go to this place again and despite what cretins may tell you, this place is terrible. Save your money. If you want quality breakfast in Burlingame I strongly suggest going to Copenhagen. Everything is top notch and fresh there. read more

We were told "a couple minutes" wait when we got there and ended up having to wait 40 minutes. It would have been understandable if we were initially told that. We were told this by the "manager", Francisco. If the food and service were great after eating, than that would have been fine but that was not the case either. Drinks were forgotten, hot chocolate tasted like water, orders were incorrect and the food was sub par. In conclusion, we left with a terrible taste in our mouth.
