The store is quite small or appears smaller since people were there studying, reading, etc. but ambiance is very busy. The parking lot is usually challenging so street parking is my priority. Horrible experience!!! I never write bad reviews, but this one was it for me. I was in a meeting at this location on July 21 around 5:00 p.m. Apparently they closed early that day, but I'm not sure what the reason was. We were in the middle of our meeting when an employee yelled from the back, "Group in the back, we're closed!" very rudely. We all looked up confused because this location usually closes at 9:30 p.m. We immediately said, "Okay, we're wrapping up," but about 20 seconds later they yelled again, "Closed means NOW!" in an even ruder tone. Then they literally turned to one another and started talking about us right in front of us. If I wasn't in a meeting, I would've definitely asked to speak to the manager. Closing early is one thing, but the way we were treated was completely disrespectful. Please hire employees who have actual customer service skills and basic manners. We see that the last time we reviewed this Starbucks was during Covid (2021). What a change a few years makes. Is it perfect? No, but close to it, at least in the early morning. Well-trained baristas with amazing customer service, a friendly greeting by name every morning, questions about our health and well-being, knowledge about our specific crazy orders and an amazing manager, Alvin, overseeing his staff. The actual owner of the property, however, has no concern for the customers, no security lights making this a scary location at night, will not do simple maintenance such as painting the parking spaces and because of what happens over night in the parking lot (no gates or chains across entrance and exit) the area is filthy and littered each morning. read more

This is my spot to go for my morning fix. It's right around the corner from our home and it makes for a great morning exercise routine and pick me up. The staff is always welcoming and ready to help anyway they can. It's a great location to study if you need a change of ambiance. There is music playing, so make sure to bring your headphones if you're looking for more of a "quiet/zen" feel. Parking is a struggle and you have to be careful going in and out since some people can't ready and enter where it states "do not enter" and vice versa. If you live close by, waking is a great alternative and great way to get your steps in. P.s don't forget to tip your barista and buy some coffee beans while you're at it. My favorite is the Guatemala Antigua with notes of cocoa and baking spice. ;) read more

I have come to this location a few times when I lived in the San Fernando Valley. Seem like they remolded the place a little bit. They are not allowing to many people to kick it here on their laptops anymore. It's another notorious area for homeless and drug users to hang out and bother people. I've been coming to this Starbucks for years now, even after getting out of this neighborhood. Anyhow, I go here mostly in the evening, weekdays from 7:30 PM to close. I think there is an abysmal difference between this crew and the one in the morning on Sundays. The weekday evening crew seems so unwilling and unprepared to do their job, service level is beyond unacceptable, no one greets you at the cash register and generally they have such an unwelcoming, haughty and condescending attitude towards their customers. Mr Schultz hear me out please. Today 2/7/24 around 7:45pm, I walked to this place. With all the boycotting going against Starbucks, there were 4-5 patrons sitting inside, in total. Usually the place would be brimming with people and great energy. Sadly, the place seemed deserted as it has been the case lately. There were two baristas behind the counter, a young Latina and probably her supervisor, a Hispanic guy with glasses. I waited at the counter for 50 seconds, until the sup turned around and walked to the cash register. No greeting or anything, he just looked at me. So I greeted him with "Hey, how are you" and got no response. I gave my order being super kind as usual, and got no warm response, just mechanically parroted my order. On a small order of hot drinks for two, I dropped four singles in the tip jar. He saw them, but no interaction just turned around and went back to talking to the young Latina girl, without even asking my name (paid cash) for the order. I walked to my gf, after a 7-8 minutes went back to the pick up counter and my drinks were sitting there unannounced. The young barista always with bad attitude, saw me approaching and turned her back to me, so I picked up the drinks and walked away. Why say thank you, when the barista's body language and lack of smile or interaction keep telling me they don't care about my business?!? Starbucks branch manager, I hope you read my comments and try to redress this untenable situation, before losing the last 5-7 faithful evening, indoor patrons, who still patronize your business. I am a working professional, and don't go to Starbucks to antagonize or bother the baristas, but please have the decency to carry out your duties with honor, showing an iota of customer service and decent attitude. After all, even a great coffee from Starbucks is not going down smoothly, after such an abominable experience. Shame on you guys. read more

People that were ordering in the actual store were getting drinks before the people that order on mobile. What's the point of ordering mobile if they are going to ignore the mobile order line. I come here on the weekends since my school is nearby. I always do a mobile order. So I get there and JOCE is ignoring my existence so I say excuse me I have a mobile order, gives me my drink and she tells me to have a nice day and I say, "I'm missing my bagel"and without looking she says it's coming. I notice a bag that was right next to my drink but I wait about ten mins anyways and as time passed I asked her to check again. With attitude she grabs the same bag that was sitting next to my drink. I was in town on business, and decided to stop here for some coffee before heading home. I drove into the small parking lot and sits at the rear of the building. There was a lack of sufficient spots, but I fortunately was able to grab a spot as someone else was leaving. I walked in to a clean and well designed store. I believe this Starbucks location is relatively new, or at least it looked like it. There was not a long line, thankfully, and I was able to put in my order before making a pit stop. My drink didn't take long to process, and I was on my way back to my car in no time. The folks here were alright, and I speak of both the workers and the patrons. Pretty decent Starbucks, location may not be so great due to parking and the corner streets it is on, but the interior is kept clean, drinks are good and made fast, and the sole employee I dealt with (blond girl) was very friendly and nice! It seems a lot of homeless wander in and although unfortunate for the staff to deal with their messes, they still stay on top of it and keep the place as clean as possible. I had to tell the Starbucks worker Ben that his customer service was amazing! He was in charge of making the drinks and worked so well under pressure being how busy it was. This is a Large Starbucks, which means lots of places to sit (including cushioned rm chairs), lots of people to at the counter, and the biggest selection of foods. It also means longer lines, slightly messier bathrooms, and almost never a place to park in the lot. The best thing about this Starbucks is that it has a long central table for laptops with a private 3 prong plug at each seat. The table seats almost 30, and the energy is palpable. There are two schools withing walking distance, Grant High School, and Los Angeles Valley College. Students from both places come here (mostly the Grant kids go to the Burger King across the street, but the LAVC students are here a lot). College students are in every other seat, with books, class notes, and the energy to learn and do their assignments. If you are a writer, or do any work on your computer, there is nothing like sitting among a bunch of college students who are burning through pages of algebra, and mounds of history essay. It make you HAVE TO work, Its great. One interesting and odd thing is that this Starbucks is within WiFi distance of the police station, so you sometimes get notification of their vehicles online. The first time I saw a surveillance van I freaked out. Also, this area is noted for high end drug crimes, thus sometimes people from that world have coffee here, and the conversations in the background can be unnerving. But again, the creative and academic energy is good here, and there is always a spot to work in. It is right across the street from a first run movie theater, and a few buildings west of a fun bar with a happy hour. So, you can stop by for a latte after you do other things, all within easy walking distance. There is an outside area, but there is no smoking in it so it is always empty. read more

The tale of "The Sexy Con Woman and the Ball-Less Baristas" I've been here several times and never had any problems (other than finding parking). It's spacious on the inside, with some outside seating, nice enough baristas who make consistent drinks. My most recent visit, I noticed a revealing woman, about 30, with fresh red lipstick, talking up some customers, giving a sob story about breaking up with her boyfriend and needing to leave town. She was asking for money and making the rounds. Eventually, she made it to the line at the counter, where the two men in front of me were about to give their order before she started her routine on them. As soon as one of the men gave her a "no," she was quick to compliment him and stroke his arm, as if that would change his mind. Meanwhile, the two Starbucks baristas (both male) are witnessing all of this, trying to get the customer's attention to place their order. But they never had the balls to confront the woman, ask her to leave or even tell her to stop harassing their customers. Sure enough, she saunters up to me, turning on her "sexy victim" charm. Now, I've been known to give money to strangers on occasion, but this one I just had to shoot down. And she immediately proceeds to stroke my arm and tell me what a nice guy I seem to be. I shoot her down again and she tries to get me to tell her my name and engage me in some kind of meaningless conversation. I say goodbye and wish her good luck. But she persists, so I suggest that she continue with the other customers if there are any left she hasn't already bothered. And again, I say good luck. She moves on to find more saps, some of which actually give her money. Saps indeed. In retrospect, I kick myself for not being more of a dick. Maybe I should have brought the baritsas in on it and asked them to give her a job application if she really wanted some money. Or maybe I should have offered her 10 bucks to mop the floor or clean the windows for everyone to see. Of course, I don't start having these ideas until after I overhear her talking with her previously hidden male companion who complains that she didn't get enough money. Sure enough, they leave together, off to find their next targets. It's too bad the baristas allowed her to make her rounds and talk to (and touch) just about every male customer, including the ones in line right in front of them. Probably one of the best Starbucks I've been to in a while! Yes the parking situation is horrible but at least it's not as bad in Koreatown or Santa Monica. The service is fast and the people here are a good mix. I've been sitting here for 15 min and am already entertained. Old Armenian man yelling on his phone, a child rubbing her face all over the chairs and a lady who put her cig in her mouth while at the store ready to spark up. I've been going to this Starbucks since 2008 and have never had the experience, poor customer service I just had. I believe the supervisors name is Andy. If I could give a 0 star I would. First of all I work in customer service and our motto is to have a "servants mindset." Because our customers are always right and at the end of the day because of them I have a job. There were these two girls Andy and some other girl I've never seen in my many years of going. I asked for my coffee with no foam obviously when you say no foam you expect it to be filled since the milk is already being steamed which everyone else has always done for me: Jake, Horout, Nicole, Kyle, Robert, Maria, Elsy and so on. Apparently today when I said no foam they gave me foam and didn't fill up my cup they left an empty space. End of the day I'm not asking for a free coffee or a donation. I'm a customer for many many years and expect my coffee the way I ask for it because I am a paying customer. When I told her to add more steamed milk she looked at Andy who I believe is the supervisor on duty today, the other girl steamed the milk yet had the nerve to tell me they don't fill up the cups because that's not how the recipe is... I'm sorry I thought I paid for my coffee and asked for no foam for a reason. I know there's new management (Leslie), I truly wish they would talk to their employees and remind them what customer service truly is about.
