I visited Starbucks in Sacramento, CA [1600 Challenge Way] on Friday, 04/03/26, around 11 AM. What I liked about this location was the beautiful mermaid mural on the wall, as well as the nice art-based pictures. The entire atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, with a great number of tables and chairs readily available inside and the outdoor patio area. In this visit, I ordered the Venti Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino prepared with 2% milk. I also ordered one Jalapeño Chicken Pocket. The drink was on point and the snack was absolutely flavorful. The staff members provided a welcoming and pleasant attitude. The restroom was clean and well-maintained. The price points of the snack and drink were not too shabby. If this Starbucks wasn't so close to work for last minute coffee I wouldn't even bother. Their coffee effort is just really crappy now. I get it no one wants to write on a cup but you have to cause it's what your job requires. Just write a happy face or something instead of the no clue what is written, just make me go ewww who touched my cup. My biggest thing is when ordering coffee. It seems like they either don't read the labels or read the labels and just don't care what it says. Why have options of extra of something or to add something if you're not actually getting it in your order? Is this a crappy Starbucks headquarters effort or is this just employees who don't care? Christina was awesome when she was there. Couple other people who I don't recall the names of. Even Sara doesn't seem to be there anymore. I used to know when Sara and Christina made my coffee because it was always delicious and made with effort and care. Now a days my coffee is just crap I buy because it's next to work and I got a gift card for Always nice to see the old man who doesn't miss a "good morning" when he sees me. Aside from that I wouldnt even bother with Starbucks. Definitely better than the one near Costco cause their blonde espresso is just nasty all together like they don't know how to pull a shit. read more

I recently started coming to this Starbucks after the location near me closed, and honestly, I've been pleasantly surprised. I've only used the drive-thru so far--about three times--and the service has consistently been quick and friendly. The employees here are genuinely nice and pretty prompt, which I appreciate. I usually order the Strato Strawberry Matcha (my go-to!), and it's been made well every time--consistent flavor, never watery or overly sweet. One evening, they even gave me a complimentary pumpkin latte before work, which was such a thoughtful gesture and definitely made my night. Another plus: I haven't had to deal with long lines here yet. Maybe because I tend to stop by around 6pm? At the end of the day, it's still a Starbucks--maybe not a trendy local café--but it does exactly what a coffee shop should do: deliver good drinks with reliable service. Swung into this Starbucks after an Ulta run because anything eggnog will always get my attention. I ordered an Eggnog Chai Latte and it was ridiculously good--warm, spicy, creamy, and basically tasted like December in a cup. Paired it with a slice of Cinnamon Coffee Cake that was soft, sweet, and hit all the cinnamon notes without feeling stale. Staff moved fast even with a line, and my drink came out hot and exactly right. If you're an eggnog person, the eggnog chai here is dangerous in the best way. read more

While I generally try not to complain, the service at this location recently reached a new level of incompetence. I attempted to use the mobile order app pickup, but staff acted as if my order for drive-thru pickup had never been placed. I didn't get upset, believing this could have been a mistake, as it has happened before.After a few attempts of trying to say my name the lady finally gave up with a little bit of attitude and said just come up. As I went up she said my name and had my order what a surprise I was fine after that and then I realized they didn't give me my other drink. I walked in to show them my receipt on my app and they couldn't understand the fact that I did not receive one of the drinks. She was cool enough to just have someone make it but she was asking me about the drink which was nice of her but I've never ordered a drink like that one before so I kind of just ordered it and maybe I'm just being impatient and so she had somebody make it. Then they asked what size and I honestly could not remember and I don't know the Starbucks lingo hence why I usually don't go so I just said I don't know give me a small and she just laughed and walked away. 9/19/24 I've been to this location while visiting this area over the last few yrs. Used to go to the one on Howe Ave but it's always so hectic & busy. This location just opened around 2018 but still looks so new. So happy they opened this since it's not far from where we're staying. It's right across the street from Cal Expo on the corner of Exposition & Challenger with a double drive-thru. Ordered off their app & since it was mid-day, the drive-thru was not busy with only 1 car ahead of me. The gal that handed me my drink was nice & friendly , asked if I needed a straw. I've always had good service here, even when they're busy & they've always gotten my order right. My usual drink is the grande hazelnut oatmilk shaken. It was perfectly made except sometimes some locations put way too much ice. Most times it's like 2/3 full but at this SB, it was filled to the brim with ice, so in reality, you're paying $6+ for a cup of ice. The app doesn't give you the option to adjust the ice for this drink. Believe me, I've tried. Other SB drinks will have it but not this. Over the many Yelping years I have frequently stopped by. Social or working not a bad lil spot. Staff changes as with most but have been treated good and friendly staff upon arrival and departure. Cold weather and hardly anyone here. Music selection varies and have seen people move to outside or other sections as it tends to be played louder than other spots. Be prepared for me my own headphones, besides not sure if it's the music or the voices in my head......caffeine up Yelpers stay positive you got this. read more

The lady that helped me was Stepph (spelling), short brown hair! She took my order! Feta Spinach Wrap and child size hot chocolate, she said I had a reward! Yes ah yes! The receipt says saved $4.95 on the Feta Spinach Wrap, charged on Starbucks card for just child size hot chocolate! The lady, Keely, short brown hair, is the one that called out when the orders are ready! Very nice people! I had markers with me, drew my version of Miss Starbucks not holding the coffee, but drew Miss Starbucks of Lighting The Beam! I see The Beam as three layers, purple, white, more purple, so that was how I drew the picture! I wrote on top, Our Friend Miss Starbucks Lighting The Beam! Two days ago I went in the morning to grab a couple honey citrus mint teas when placing my order I asked for 2 venti size and 2 scones when I arrived at the window the lady says I'm sorry we had to fix your tea they made it as a grande instead of a venti well I then asked where my other one was and she just looked at me oh you wanted 2 well yes I asked for 2 venti size teas and 2 scones when i placed my order she then comes back and said she only charged me for one I would like to knw why I paid so much to not receive both my teas I didn't say anything went ahead and paid again I feel like I paid for my order and somebody else's order to but didn't say anything and the smeared attitude i received will definitely keep me from going back to that location again As it's not the first time that this location had given me a problem I just thought i would try again since I was in the area but nothing had changed they let me down again read more

My cousin and I ordered through the drive through this morning and the young lady who took my order sounded irritated/annoyed, which was unfortunate because usually Starbucks employees are very welcoming and friendly. We pulled up to the window, she accidentally charged us for the wrong order, I politely asked her and her coworker (who helped assist her with the void) if my card would be refunded and the young lady who took my order gave me a crazy look thinking I did not notice. This location is always pretty busy given it's right across the street from Cal Expo and right off Business 80. The staff here are pretty friendly and provide service with a smile every time. They have been always accurate with my order. I would suggest if you're short on time, order online/by app and pick up. The drive thru line is always long (this location has two lanes!) and slow. She completely had her nose uncovered and at times I also saw her mouth when she was talking to the person in the car in front of me. When it was my time to pay for my drinks, I just drove away. I did not want to have any interactions with her. I did not feel comfortable. This lady is very inconsiderate of others. This location was closed back in March/April due to COVID, which made me sad because I really like interacting with the associates. They're very friendly and understanding. Since reopening, this location has gotten busy again. But they are very fast and rather accurate with orders! I tend to get the same thing every time, and the baristas are rather consistent across the board from what I can tell. Try to order ahead if you can to save time in the drive through.
