Once is an anomaly, four times its a pattern. Went in yesterday to get my coffee. Walked in. No line. Stood at the counter for 2 1/2 minutes (timed it). Three people prepping drinks for the drive thru, not a single one acknowledged me. Finally a person came from the restroom area tying on an apron and asked if she could help. No "sorry for the wait'. Ordered a Venti Blond Roast with room for cream. Cup was about 65% filled with coffee. Really! Room for cream doesn't mean 1/3 of my cup for room. Not a single time have I had decent service in this place. The culture of the staff at this location simply stinks. This is not the Starbuck's way. read more

last time at this location, I went on the drive thru, the guy was totally ignorant because I have an accent which I find very racist then when I pull to the window I thought maybe it was a miscommunation and still tried to be positive but the guy "Calvin" was totally an a**hole he had a horrible attitude!!!! I bought a condo in the area and this is the closest Starbucks to me excluding the mall and old town. Every single time I come here, my drink is made wrong. I order it the same at every Starbucks so I don't know how else to make them understand. The problem I have is the lack of customer service. For the most part I would just let it go and drink it. After about the 5th or 6th time I started asking for it to be re made. I would get an attitude when I would ask or snarky comments. For example, I can tell just by looking at the color of my coffee if it's wrong. So I kindly told her before she handed it to me that it's too dark and will be too strong. She had it remade then told me it didn't look any different than before. I said I could tell the difference. She again stated she couldn't. Then told me the lighting inside is different that outside. The final straw was when I went yet again. I could tell it was wrong. Again it was too dark. When I asked for her to remake it, she dumped out about half and put milk in it. It tasted horrible!! Like watered down milk. My pumps of syrup were either not added properly or were dumped out. I took that drink down the street to the Thomas and scottsdale location. The guy working was so nice. I was honest and told him what happened. He apologized and remade my drink for free even though it wasn't that stores fault. He told me they have a ton of people go in their location with the same complaints about the other Starbucks. He remade my drink, had me taste it, and made sure I liked it. May sound crazy over coffee but at 3.08 a pop, everyday, it does matter. I will never waste my time or money here again. read more

I have been going to this one for a while. Aaron is my favorite, but I love all the staff here. They are quick, never out of anything and every one is always in a great mood. Sometimes I have to be that annoying customer that comes right when they open and I just have to say... the older gentleman that works the early shift is SO PLEASANT every time! I do not drink coffee so this review is strictly on service. I buy my senior Mom a coffee a day & this particular day I was across town in Old Town at coffee time. So I went through the drive thru & was in/out in less than 5 minutes & that's with 2 cars ahead that each 2 drinks per car. Wow. Where's the love. I come here 3 or so times a week to get some work done. Staff is friendly though maybe ignorant of how loud their personal chatter can be when customers are around. Love the long hours compared to other stores and I think it's the biggest it's the biggest one in the state according to them (it's a former Tokyo Express). Used to be my favorite local Starbucks until tonight. Wanted to use my birthday reward before expiration at 11:59 PM!!! Which alone is stupid. Either way after a long day, I finally was able to swing into the drive thru at 9:20pm. You'll notice the hours say open until 10pm. All lights on, people inside. We are immediately told at the speaker "Thank you for choosing Starbucks we are closed for the night". Ummmm. Your closed? Doesn't look like it. Then we get " Thank you". Nice. So apparently the hours are wrong or your lazy employees wanted to not accept any more orders for the night a whole 40 minutes before actual closing time. AND I lose my birthday reward. Real nice. I can't give more than three stars due to lack of continuity. I like Starbucks as a rule and this location was stellar when they first opened. Less than a year later, turnover is high, service is spotty and drinks are a roll of the dice. My order has been messed up as many times as it has been right. The actual location is great and you can't beat the drive thru. For the love of my coconut milk sugar free caramel latte, I really hope they can get together. read more

This Starbucks is a JOKE. I drink Starbucks everyday, most days at least 2x. I ordered my usual: Soy chai tea latte and the soy milk was chunky! This is the 2nd time this has happened at this location NO OTHER LOCATION EVER GIVES ME THIS PROBLEM. When I confronted them about it they told me that was normal and that they could stir it to make it look normal?! I am disgusted. They can't even make my strawberry refresher without it being all watered down. Never again going to this location. Dirty and gross. Wish I could give it no stars. read more

So this place is where I go when I don't feel like going to a local spot, like bad hair days or in pj's... You know, not hipster enough for Sip, screw it, Starbucks it is. I thought it was super shady that they opened this location RIGHT after sip. I mean, to hell with local businesses, lets plop a Starbucks down across the street even though we have 3 in the next 2-3 blocks... Shade!! Then they had the audacity to make it a bar type thing... Just like lost of local shops started a while ago. This really is not cool. On principle, I avoid Starbucks when I can, and use it as a last resort, like when you are on a road trip and can't avoid Burger King. Sip is right up the street and is better. Starbucks is trying to keep up with all the new, cooler, local joints. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for them. This Starbucks location is decent sized. Plenty of seating. They have a laptop bar that can probably seat about 8 people. I enjoy hanging, having a slice of pumpkin bread, and catching up on my email on their free wifi network. I would recommend this location to everyne. The parking lot is large, the restaurant is clean, and there is a drive-thru at this location. read more

The staff is very friendly. However they are very slow. I have been to this location more than 10 times and every time the wait is longer than 20 minutes from ordering to receiving my beverage. Apparently the barista was having a bad day and all stressed out making the experience uncomfortable. Staff seems to be very focused on making coffee for drip instead of taking orders f people in line. This has happened every time I have visited this location. The final product is usually good, When the person taking orders gets what you ordered correct. read more

I am seeing a disappointing trend with most Starbucks I frequent. As someone that spends a lot of time working out of a "third-place" I often chose a Starbucks because they're everywhere and have a great reward program (though not as great as it used to be). I'm noticing that as the price of their drinks continue to escalate in cost the up-keep and cleanliness of the interior of most locations are deteriorating. In most instances, as with this location in Old Town Scottsdale, I usually order a cup of water and grab a handful of napkins to wipe down the table -- because it's clear it hasn't been cleaned all day. I absolutely love this Starbucks. Don't get me wrong. It has never ever upset me until today at 11:30 am when I entered the drive thru. Not only did the girl working the headset RUSH me through my order, which is a huuuuge pet peeve of mine, but she clearly wasn't listening either because I asked for an iced caramel macchiato with soy for my passenger and a bacon breakfast sandwich. I was given a half frozen breakfast sandwich and a hot caramel macchiato. As I handed the drink back and told her that it was supposed to be iced she took it back without saying ANYTHING to me. We decided we would leave the sand which part out because she seemed so busy even though there was only one car in the drive thru behind me...and we thought we would just warm it up at home. I was expecting some kind of sorry or something sympathetic when she came back with our iced drink but she didn't say one word...at all! AAAANDD to top it all off she gave me an iced caramel macchiato with MILK. Very displeased with this visit, on our way home we passed the Starbucks on Thomas and scottsdale, and they were very honored to give my friend a new drink and a new sand which for free with no RUSHED feeling. I go there once a week well I guess i used to the until the lady behind the counter spoke to me in a very rude manner. When you say I spilled all your espresso shots on my hand and pushed the cup towards me is what I'm referring to. I ordered a triple Carmel maciato but it taste horrible unlike most times when I go to Starbucks. It seems she must have put hot water or more coffee than needed either way it's in the trash. I have only ever left a bad review once in my life... this is it. I am a server, I work in high stress situations often and I understand how things can be. I came through the drive through and have NEVER experienced someone so rude taking my order. She continuously talked over me, and literally kept snapping every time I would order my next item. She was clearly frustrated, and was taking it out on me. When I went up to the window, the manager gave me my drinks and I let him now how absolutely rude she was. He said "I actually heard everything that happened and I couldn't hear you" and I said "she never once asked me to speak up". Which is true. I had to come here and leave this review because I'm in shock of the way I was treated, and the way the manager handled the situation. I once again have been on yelp for three years, and this is the first negative review I have ever written. If she would've asked me to speak up, I would have. This should've been handled differently. So I'll start off with that I am giving this location one star when compared to other starbucks locations I go to but overall it is a strong two star coffee shop. I am not a typical reviewer of things and had to sign up just to make this review. I have been to this location maybe weekly, sometimes more, and it has been a consistent issue of a few basic things such as eye contact or even acknowledging I'm standing there! I have been in there early in the morning where I am the only one there and as I walked up there was no one going thru the drive thru and have had 3 different people walk by me while I stand at the counter without so much as a hello or looking in my direction and I waited several minutes to be acknowledged let alone be served and this has been a repeatable experience for me. What I ask for with my coffee I don't think is unreasonable just a short greeting, even a hello is fine, when I am waiting at the counter and you are unavailable to serve me at that moment and some eye contact, I get that you have a register to operate I am not asking you to stare at me but some eye contact at some point during the process of me being served I think is basic and sorry to call out my fellow men out but this has mainly been an issue with you guys while the women are fairly good with this. read more
