This was one of the best pepperoni pizza slices I've ever had from a trailer (as it's a given pizza trailers have some limitation in that they can't hold a brick oven). My slice was large and had a perfect crust, decent sauce, gooey cheese and crisp-at-the-edges pepperoni (just the way I like it). Definately a go-to spot if you're looking for a food companion to go along with those PBRs. read more

I read a bunch of reviews that said that this place wasn't good and that the service was terrible and it took too long to get their pizza. Here's the thing, Negative Nancy's... When I walked up, the girl working the truck was super nice and quick to get our order. She said it would be about 15 minutes to get our pizza, which was no problem for me. We got our pizza in about 10 minutes, and it smelled AH-MAZING! We got back to our hotel and I took the first bite... THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I LOOK FOR IN FOOD TRUCK PIZZA!!! I ordered the BBQ Chicken cause it was seen on a TV special, but there really wasn't anything great about it. I didn't taste any of the BBQ sauce. I was pretty disappointed. The pepperoni pizza was good, though. The sauce is good and has a sweetness to it. Definitely good drunk food, though :) read more

I mean great vegetable pizza! I haven't tried the pepperoni pizza but usually vegetable pizzas are bland this is NOT! Seasoned, great sauce, great cheese (not greesy at all) great texture bread (not thin pizza actually pizza that will fill you up) and great crisp vegetables. Mann nothing about it is bad. Stony's visited the Arboretum for the fist time (as far as I know) today. A co-worker and I decided, "Hey, it's pizza from a truck, how bad can it be?" so we meandered down stairs, headed outside and sauntered up to the bright red truck. We each ordered some pepperoni slices and headed back upstairs. Well i've just completed consuming my pizza and as a native New Yorker I can tell you this was a breath of fresh air in the pizza world. This place blows all the other pizza places away including the truck right next to it that tries to lure you with a tv on the side. We came down to enjoy the nice summer evening and stopped into Stony's for a slice of pizza and ended up getting a whole pie. We got the surprise of our lives! The pizza was the best we'd ever had anywhere in Austin! Comparable to New York pizza! The sauce was fantastic and the crust was chewy and perfectly browned. One star for confederate logo and dogwhistle name. Mind wouldn't have gone there were it not for the confederate flag on this pizza truck. How has no one else mentioned this? This is so disturbing to me. Edit: Changed my review to a three because the pizza may very well be good and the owner had the decency to clarify below. Whether intentional or not, there are "stars and bars" as it were on this truck and the name evokes Stonewall Jackson. I was surprised they could keep pushing out quality pizzas for so many people. Granted I only tried the pepperoni pizza but it was a huge slice and so good. The guys running the truck are great too. Love their pizza. They serve it hot, pizza is crispy, has a lot of flavor and for $3!!! Their sodas are only $1. So lunch was $4 total. You can't beat that. I was cravin some Ninja Turtle food and this place was nested right across the street from the venue we were gonna be at for the night. I came RIGHT as they were opening up for the evening and all he had was pepperoni (not my fav). However, a 4 dollar slice of pizza the size of a lawn mower tire is fine by me any day. It was really good. The sauce was sweet and the balance of cheese and other toppings was well thought out. The folks serving us were nice enough. There's basically no seating in the immediate vicinity. They provide plenty of napkins ,red peppers flakes and Parmesan cheese. read more

WORST SERVICE! Here's the thing: If you set up a pizza truck at 2:00 am at the end of Rainey street, you did this to yourself. A lot of yelling, a lot of "F yous" just over all terrible customer service. Unless you're about being talked to like you don't have a brain in your head, I wouldn't even consider this place. I don't really understand why you would sign up for a job you don't want - but whatever. Also, the pizza is, like, mediocre at best... Stony's has been coming by our workplace for lunch a few times a month and I thought I'd give them a shot even though I didn't think any place would beat Little Deli. The first time I got pep/sausage and it was okay. There wasn't much cheese, but I thought perhaps it was just the slice I got. I gave them a second chance today since so many people think it's the best and sadly was disappointed again. :( It's $3 a slice which isn't too bad and I gave pepperoni a shot today. AGAIN, NO CHEESE. WTH?? If you don't want to taste cheese with each bite of your pizza, you'll like it. The lack of cheese has me not coming back. Lame. read more

This is one of the best slices of pizza I've had in Texas. And I know pizza, because my boyfriend's life source is derived from pizza; without it he would curl up and die. Amazing crust, amazing sauce, amazing price... seriously, what more do you need?? The customer service was great too - Theo was really nice. Not gunna lie. I was tipsy when I ate this. It was 2am. But, it sure was warm and tasty. I'm kind of a pizza snob, and this stuff hit the spot. Perfect portion size which seems to be lacking in some of the other food trucks in town. Perfect location. bringin home a whole pizza was a little difficult. it was the biggest pizza i've ever seen and even thought about taking home. but, it didn't make it all the way home whole. stared foggin up the windows it was so hot! grabbed me a slice while maneuvering my way down 6th trying not to make car contact with pedestrians and cyclists crossing when ever and where ever they feel like it. the veggie pizza is oh so good. big pieces of artichoke hearts! the crust is perfect (not cracker thin, if that's how you like it). towards the top, there was more crust than i care to eat without toppings or even a bit of tomato sauce, but i ate it anyway?! but one piece. that's it. i wanted to eat more, but that one slice was really closer to 2-3 normal slices. don't kid yourself by folding the thing in half. after gourdough's and a slice of pizza that's bigger than my face... i can happily say i was done for the day. good pizza. 3AM. what's else could you ask for? Best late night pizza in Austin, bar none! Starts with homemade sauce, great ingredient and perfectly done crust - unlike all of that soggy day old tasting crap downtown.
