As a woman from Louisiana, who is constantly looking for quality boiled seafood in the DFW area, I didn't know there was such a thing as an absurdly offensive amount of garlic in boiled shrimp/crab legs. Well, there is. My husband ordered the "garlic butter" option, so this MIGHT make sense for his meal. I ordered their "traditional". The picture is my plate. Yes, I ate it, because we paid $100 for our dinner, but we will NOT be back. This meal is going to be oozing out my pores my days. NOT WORTH IT. So disappointed. This place is terrible. I wanted to order extra sauces to go. They said they would only sell extra sauce if I ordered an item per sauce. Every other crab place allows a customer however many sauces one would want to purchase without hesitation. It was dead inside on Sunday. It would be smart for a company to make money without restrictions. They told me i could order sides and then get sauces. When i agreed, they said I couldn't do more than one. The food was delicious! Our waiter was great. Onion rings were perfect, seafood was too. Only thing I would change is getting coke products instead of Pepsi. The food was soso, not nearly as spicy as I would have liked, but I guess that was on me. The vibe wasn't bad either, just a bunch of sea-like decor, welcome to a landlubber like myself. The reason for the one star review, is what happened after I left the restaurant. I had left a $15 tip, and somebody wrote in two lines on the "1" to make it a $45 tip. Thankfully my bank warned me about it. The manager simply offered the difference in cash, but offered no remedies to the staff or assurance that this wouldn't happen again. It seemed like they were just trying to get me out of the restaurant. Renaming this place Steaming Crap. Complimentary mayo "cheese" bread should come with a complimentary screen door. Oven baked oysters were chewy, tasted fishy & overall disgusting. Walking through the door, the aroma was flowing through the air and I was anxious to try a few items on the menu. Seafood bread was delicious and quite filling! Soft shell crab may need to be washed a bit more...tasted kinda gritty and nothing to write home about. Crab cakes are one of my favorites so I ordered a side...in all my years I have never seen a crab cake coated with breading. Nope nope nope. First they gave us free "seafood bread" it's a heaping of seafood mayo baked bread. And I like Mayo. I ordered the oyster po boy. It was inedible. The oysters themselves tasted bad like spoiled, which is probably why they were drenched in Mayo and remoulade. The saving grace was the catfish my husband had which helped get the taste out of my mouth. Our server was nice and attentive and would probably be better off at a better restaurant. Drove by this place a few times and they outdoor decorations look very cool. So my family and I finally went in for a late lunch. Our waiter was very sweet friendly and suggested some fried okra and some rice and sausage balls for an appetizer. I also ordered some French fries . They gave us some house garlic cheesy bread but the dip on the bread was not a favorite too much mayo in it. But without the dip on that bread it would be better but they don't serve just garlic cheesy bread it has to have their sauce on it. Which was a bit disappointing. We got 2lbs of shrimp and extra potatoes and 1lbs of sausage and extra corn kept it mild as we had little ones with us eating . That was the only thing we felt was decent. Appetizers were not good we weren't big fans of the fried okra and the meat rice balls were not bad but I can do without it next time. It's a hit or miss depends on what you order. I tried to order a frozen drink (like a Pina Colada) but the waiter told me they don't serve frozen drinks. I must state that as of this review this restaurant is newish so maybe they're still working the kinks out. I've been about 3 or 4 times and for those French Fry Fans, I LOVE the Lemmon Pepper Fries. When approaching the hostess stand the young lady was more interested in her cellphone than looking up to greet us with no eye contact or words coming out of her mouth I said a table for two please. Still no words or eye contact she took us to the table and hurried back to her phone. Me and my husband said I hope this isn't a sign of how the food will be. Along came our waitress Claire with a basket of fresh hot cheesy bread she was friendly and courteous with a great smile and attitude. Now to the food we had the Fried Fish Basket along with the fried gator meat basket, hush puppies &FF the fish was CLEAN fresh & hot the gator was not chewy it was fresh and had a good crunch to it the seasoning on both was great the batter was not greasy or heavy. It's not butterflied shrimp that leaves plump pieces of shrimp to eat - it's just pounded into these unnatural straight lines and the opposite of juicy. Went here with a girlfriend on a Friday. We saw a tic tok that said this place was the go to spot so decided to check it out. Initially we thought we were at the wrong place because the sign outside was a different name but we found it. The environment was neat and clean there was sushi bar but nothing was set up there so it looks like they no longer offer it or it was becoming a new addition. Upon sitting down they give you fresh seafood bread which was like Texas toast with a seafood spread on it baked. Then drinks were great we got some kind of Mexican mule type drink which was refreshing. The menu was overwhelming because you have to decide what you want so there were tons of options. We decided on the daily special with gave us shrimp, lobster tail 2 corns potato sausage and a crab cluster. The portion was really good for 30 dollar price. You do get to choose your spice level however this is where it failed there was not a difference in flavor pallet between hot and mild and the oils they put in it overpowered whatever seasonings they added almost as if they put the ingredients in the bag and added the sauce Vs cooked it in the sauce. Outside of this the bathrooms were clean and the server was very attentive. I'm not sure if I'll come back but if you're looking for a new crab boil seafood place to try I would recommend. read more

The fish was good but not the breading it had too much Cajun spice that made it dry, not spicy but weird tasting. I ordered a corn on the cob but it was very tiny like a forth of a whole corn. The waitress was ok but it appeared like she rolled her eyes a few times when I changed my order or when I asked if the cod was spicy. I asked for extra bread but the waitress said they will charge for more bread. My husband was happy with his scallops and potatoes and corn in a bag but the scallops looked like the tiny frozen kind. Not going to make it a point to go back. Their prices are high and menu is limited. Not a classy place it has graffiti and scribbles all over the place so I wouldn't dress up. Visited on a Friday night. That have a lot of bugs to work out with the new opening. Staff was friendly and good, although very disorganized. I'm sure this will improve. The menu does not contain any list of beers available and the waitress did not know them either. This required her to go to the bar, write them all down, then return. She did great, although it took some time and the prices were not known. Food was great quality. We loved the oysters served over shaved ice. The fried fish baskets were very small portions for main dinners. The fried cod only had 5 small nuggets of fish. Quality was great, quantity was not good at all. Enjoyed the service and our meals. Storming Crab - #4 - Cajun/Creole Near Me - McKinney, Texas

This place is AWESOME! I've had LOTS of seafood before and this was some of the best! Mouth watering Snow Crab steamed so perfectly it almost falls out of the shell! Steamed shrimp was pre-split to clean out the grit and make them super easy to peel. Steamed corn was delicious, as were the sausage pieces and red potatoes. The Crab House Cajun seasoning with medium heat level was perfect as well. They also serve a Seafood Garlic Bread (like Texas Toast but with a spread of butter, cheese, shredded crab, and mayo baked onto it), right after you sit down, that blows Red Lobster biscuits out of the water. Drinks were great; they have tons of specialty cocktails and a really nice bar, stocked with all the usual good stuff. Their prep is on point too. Before the food arrived (which was remarkably only about 10 minutes), they bring you a bib, all the standard seafood tools AND PLASTIC GLOVES! The gloves let you really get through the extractions really quickly while not soaking Cajun butter into your hands. The tables are also covered with a nice, thick butcher paper, so you can be as messy as needed without any guilt. They also have a hand washing area, outside the restrooms, which makes it really quick and easy to get cleaned up afterwards. Claire took EXCELLENT care of us and we'll be requesting her again when we return. We honestly thought we were taking a chance on this place, based on some of the other reviews, but many of them seem really frivolous and petty. ‍ Highly recommend Storming Crab to get your seafood fix with delicious grub and terrific service. read more
