Had great service from Steve/Steven throughout the night. The assorted duck fat fries served in place of welcome bread or rolls were SO delicious. Tbh, best thing I had all night. Was super hyped to get the duck fat prime rib dish (waiter mentioned that's his go-to item to recommend). The cut looked massive upon arrival (Steven mentioned that the cut might get even bigger as the night progresses, as the restaurant isn't trying to have leftovers). However, was quite disappointed upon tasting the prime rib, to be honest. So many other reviews stated how flavorful and delicious the prime rib was. I found that ... the duck fat kind of failed to impart much flavor, if any at all. The seasoning on the crust was alright, but once you get past the first half inch inward starting from the crust, the beef is pretty much unseasoned. Also, the intramuscular fat was not very well rendered out by any means. There were so many large pieces of fat that I needed to cut out and to not eat, which was so (unpleasantly) surprising, as I live by "fat is flavor". The large pieces of fat just had terrible mouthfeel, AND no flavor, once again, so I ended up cutting out a lot, unfortunately. Shoutout to the busboys/water folks - my water was always topped off, literally never had to ask, and I was consistently drinking the entire glass throughout the meal. 2/5 - I would much rather spend the money elsewhere tbh. However, the restaurant truly is huge one on the inside, with wonderful ambiance and interior decor. I would come back and try other dishes from here to give the restaurant a fair shake. read more

My flat steak was not cooked to order and was medium rare. They took it back but it came out so chewy. Like it was a very cheap cut of meat and the waiter made it seem like they was normal. I've had skirt streak and flat steak at other places and never had they been like this. I didn't even want to try to eat it. Wasted $60 bucks. The food was great, but it's very pricey. There's a lot of steakhouses in the city where you'd get more bang for your buck. Let's talk about the food. We mostly got ribeyes for the table, which was cooked to a nice medium rare with a good char. But the star of the the show was the Prime Rib. MY GOD it was delicious with whatever drug they put into that duck fat. The sides to me were solid, probably not worth the price tho. The fries, which were free, were fucking delish, albeit a little salty. The truffle aioli was bussin. Service wasn't super great on this night. We kept getting ignored for small requests. It's sort of like one of those giant Roadhouse places - only with WAY better food and service. It's loud. Cacophonous really. I get what they're going for with the whole steakhouse feel but I thought the fries were painfully salty and I really would have much preferred a delicious piece of bread. Our food came out fast and it was all quite good. We decided to go with quality over quantity, so we shared the 12-oz WAGYU NY STRIP ($98) with a side of three very nicely flavored and grilled shrimp (add on for $16) and the whipped sour cream potatoes ($15). The steak was delicious... melt in your mouth and even cooked in such a way that his portion (larger than mine) was a bit more well done, while my smaller portion was rarer. Perfectly cooked! The shrimp were scrumptious. I'd eat an entire entree of these. I thought the potatoes were whipped a bit too far for my liking... you really needed to eat these with a spoon or risk serious drippage. But still tasty. As a starter, they give you complimentary truffle fries with creamy truffle mayo at the bottom. I've never seen a restaurant give free fries before, so this was a nice surprise - they were crispy and tasty too! For the main entrees, we got the dry-aged ribeye ($76) and mary's brick chicken. It was my first time trying dry-aged steak - the meat was super tender and delicious! Some parts were a little salty, but overall it was really good. Mary's brick chicken is no longer on their menu, which is unfortunate because I really enjoyed this dish a lot (more than the steak actually). The chicken was very flavorful and tender. It also came with pasta that had liquid mushroom filling on the inside. I hope they bring this dish back because I would definitely order it again. They do have another chicken dish called mary's yuzu chicken ($44). I would try this one considering my wonderful experience with their previous chicken dish. I had happened to pass by and decided I wanted steak. I saw for a moment and had a drink and looked at the menu and then I was really decided at that point. They had a good menu and I enjoyed it. I was fortunate to be able to get a seat, since I was alone I think that helped me. So lucky me! The night before I tired another place on the property and it was like 2 hour wait. I'm guessing it can get to that point here too but I was lucky. My steak was perfect, I can't complaint about that at all. My potato was also good, I is it had more onions and gouda cuz it went fast. The place is expensive - let's get that out of the way. The service is excellent & fits the price point. Definitely fine dining level etiquette. The ambience is top-notch. Cool & dim. Elegant but modern. Not stuffy. Warm & welcoming. We sat at a booth & it was comfortable & spacious. They had a chair on the outside of the booths which seemed unnecessary & kind of broke the flow of the floor design. Maybe they are trying to accommodate parties of 4 - not sure. But our party of three fit into the booth perfectly. Despite the growing crowd & the line outside, there was no rushing & no pressure to turn the table - which was so pleasant & allowed us to take in the experience. And that time to enjoy the experience was most greatly appreciated when the cocktails were served. These were the best prepared cocktails we had in Vegas. And when I say "best prepared", I should premise by saying these are craft cocktails. There's nothing wrong with fun drinks, party drinks, or blended slushies to get you tanked - but these are not that. Cocktail enthusiasts will tell you about how cocktails served on a big cube are meant to be sipped. It's almost like they are mixed with the intention that the drink will change, even evolve, as the dilution increases. Our drinks tasted either too sweet or way too strong on our 1st sip. But after a while, as we enjoyed the meal, both of our different cocktails opened up in taste - becoming better balanced & nuanced. The bartender knows what they are doing back there! The lesson is order your cocktail here first - before the meal, before even the appetizer - and then sip it slow. Also, settling in is a good idea. The upside during out visit was that we could take in a nice dining experience on our last day in Vegas. If there was a downside, it's that the comfort also applied to a bit of wait time for our food. We arrived just as they opened, so we're thinking that in addition to making the food fresh to order, the kitchen was probably just getting started. But, the complimentary array of fries (instead of traditional table bread) kept us busy. A simple yet novel concept, the "table fries" were delicious & a promising start to the meal. The meals themselves was expertly prepared. And plated simply - as if to showcase the quality ingredients & cooking technique. No overload on sauce or garnishes. The portions are big - matching the expectations of a higher price point. And, no sides. The sides are ordered a la carte & also are large portions, probably to be shared. If you're a big eater - the plating & separate sides might feel like the dishes look sparse. But, being a steak house, you'll more than likely need the space for slicing. And, besides, it all works. It reflects the ambiance. I'm not a steak guy. The whole American Wagyu, wood burning grill is, sadly, lost on me. Not just at Strip - everywhere. My wife & son ordered the American Wagyu skirt steak & were happy. I ordered the 'Char Siu' Pork Tomahawk &...this was worth it. I've never had pork prepared like this. While the char siu was lightly flavored (an accent more than the usual syrupy coat on char siu - probably why they use quotations), the pork flavor really blended well. The cut was super tender with just enough fat. If you're not a steak person, I highly recommend. Overall, Strip Steak is a great spot. A little respite from the hustle & bustle of the Mandalay Bay. Fine dining that matches the price tag & glitz of Vegas without the frantic energy or the pretentiousness. Having said that, I'm staying at a high 4 stars - not 5. The price point,while justifiable, felt high for me. And that influences my experience. This may reflect more about me as a diner than tell you about the restaurant. But a spot like this isn't depending on an out-of-towner's picky opinion. The entrees fulfilled my expectations - but didn't exceed them. Dined here on May 26th. We had reservations but we were going to be seated in the middle of the dining area and it was noisy/loud so we requested for one of the booths on the side, thus, we waited for a bit for them to get the table ready. The Maine Lobster toast appetizer was amazing ! Because the kitchen was taking a while to prepare our entree, we were given complimentary fries. When the our entrees arrived, the scallops were cold - not even room temp cold, but actually really cold - they took it back and when it came back out it was hot and forth shelf the consistency was still good. The filet mignon was cooked correctly (medium rare), was tender and juicy. The side of spicy pork belly fried rice was good. It can get loud inside which I don't particularly enjoy while dining and paying for an expensive meal. We dined here Friday night and couldn't have been more disappointed. We ordered the tomahawk, a few appetizers, and sides. The steak was flavorless and inconsistently cooked throughout. The sides were okay but not as large as they said they would be to share with the table. The staff were friendly but we had to keep asking them to clear our plates. Lastly it was my husband's birthday and you would think when you're paying close to $400 for dinner you would get a complimentary dessert of sorts, nope nothing. My usual go to here is the salmon and loaded baked potato, but last night our server Glen suggested the Alaskan Haibut, which is the current specialty. Since I remember Glen from my previous years here, I knew that I could trust his suggestions. It was so fresh and well seasoned, went perfect with my loaded potato. The wedge salads are always great here. To top off the meal, I tried the Strawberry Cheesecake Merengue dessert. It was a fun presentation and perfectly light after a full meal. Came here for a late dinner during a work conference. The bar area was busy, but I was able to find a seat for myself. I had to flag down a waitress, but once she noticed me the service was very attentive. The bar area has good ambiance and would be fine for small groups of 2-3 people. While I waited for the food, they gave three small servings of fries with ketchup, ranch and aioli as their "table bread". The fries were great. For my dinner, I had the Free Range Roasted Chicken with foie gras dumplings and a side of roasted mushrooms. The chicken was well prepared, as were the greens the chicken was served on. The dumplings were... okay. My big issue with the chicken is that the entire plate was served barely warm. The dumplings were nearly room temp / cold, which affected the texture and likely the flavor. The serving temp took away from my enjoyment of the plate that was otherwise a good dish. ...the side of mushrooms, on the other hand, came out hot and were phenomenal! I could've just had that and been happy. I'd recommend them to anyone. Overall, I think this place deserves 4 stars for a good experience with lots of promis, but needs some improvements in execution to get to 5 stars. read more

Strip steak isn't bad but doesn't hold up against good Midwest beef, not even factoring in the overpriced menu. The Mac and cheese was terrific, however. Service is good. Had an amazing dining experience last night! We were greeted with champagne while we waited for our table. A nice first impression! As we sat down, we were immediately greeted and brought truffle fries to eat - yum! As for the food... where to begin. We tried all the small plates and they were delicious. The lobster tacos were my favorite - nice and refreshing. Then our drinks came, all were immaculate! And I don't even like alcohol like that. We ordered a strawberry mule, pomegranate martini, cucumber martini, bourbon and a smooth a** scotch!! Our entrees came out and we all devoured our meals. I ordered the sea bass - make sure to put the charred lemon on top, it's a game changer. My family also ordered the wagyu - 10/10 amazing and tender!! The strip steaks, which cost $92 each, had a bad texture and a mediocre taste; the tomahawk was embarrassingly expensive and was surprisingly small; the filets were mediocre at best. We were excited to try their fries, but they were fried in duck fat and our group did not like the taste. The space is okay, but some tables are in areas that are strangely bright, and others have a lot of foot traffic. The service was inconsistent. Every once in awhile if you looked out towards the casino/convention center area you'd just see a lot of people walking by. But it definitely did not take away from the ambience of the restaurant. The shrimp cocktail was delicious! Shrimp size were huge and fresh cocktail sauce and horseradish were fresh! Hubby had the bone-in ribeye and I had the sea bass. Everything was cooked just to our liking and the flavors were on point. We shared a ginormous baked potato and a large portion of grilled asparagus. Everything was definitely shareable for 2-3 people, depending on how hungry you were. We even had leftovers for him to snack on a couple hours later. LOL! It was just as delicious later. Have been a long time patron of Strip-steak; but have watched them deteriorate to a third rate establishment. Have been going to strip steak for probably 15+ years. Strip steak used to be a great spot for a steak, great food, great menu, great service; that has all changed since COVID. They closed down for COVID and never re captured there position. After COVID, the staff was purged, which meant all new servers and Bartenders, Service became weak and untrained, bar staff changed as well, then they closed down shortly after for a remodel and rebranded menu. This has really been their colossal downfall and they have completely fallen of the face of the earth in terms of Service, Menu, and food quality. The menu was changed out,but not for the better, there are no decent appetizers any longer, and very limited selections worthwhile. The food quality has diminished as well. The steaks don't have near the flavor, texture or quality as they used to, the rebrand also doubled the prices of everything, they used to have a great steak at a reasonable and fair price, the rebrand resulted in a marginal steak well overpriced. They are extremely overrated now for a third rate steak house. As for staffing, it used to be very good, but after COVID and the rebrand, they lost many f their good wait staff and Bartenders. The current management has not been able to train the new staff to reasonably acceptable standards since the remodel, which I thin has been 3 years now? The wait staff that I have experienced since the remodel has been 2 servers one was good, the other (young Girl) terrible. I do mainly eat at the bar so am very familiar with the bar staff, I can say that Anthony is the only redeemable bartender. I can see that Anthony sometimes gets dragged down by other poor bar staff at times, but I believe he does the best he can considering. Other bartenders there are disingenuous, self absorbed and provide terrible service. As well I have met a couple different managers there briefly on a few occasions, I did speak with Aaron one time seemed like a good guy. I know the managers are pretty much directed by corporate, so am not resting this slide on them. However they are responsible for getting Staff trained in customer service, specifically the bar staff (not Anthony) Disingenuous/weak staff stands out immediately and is noticed instantly. You know as well with the current state of Las Vegas and Tourism, I think Las Vegas is in great need of redefining their whole Business model and to make themselves more affordable and provide Genuine hospitality to their customers, specifically the Strip restaurants. There are many good steak places, other choices; Peter Luger is very very good but pricey, with excellent service, a good option to Strip steak is Bourbon Steak at 4 Seasons, another Michael Mina Steakhouse, (although the Bar-stools at the Bar absolutely suck). Oscar's downtown is very good as well, great steak, great price, very good service. Bottom line is that Strip Steak has completely lost its way, and needs a complete overhaul to attempt to redeem there past success. Before the remodel their Rib cap was $68, that same Rib Cap is now $140. They have made themselves that Pretentious steak house with way overpriced steaks, poor service and weak menu. They really don't have any worthwhile Appetizers, and the whole menu is overpriced couple with disingenuous service. I would like to think that Strip steak would be able to recover, but don't think it will happen. The current tourism issue with Las Vegas will likely result with many Restaurant Failures read more
