Lunch combo costs about $13 (no drinks) and you have your option of various meat combos with rice, salad, pita and hummus. They have a solid crew of people working here. The food is legit and cooked fresh daily. The young cashiers (who I assume to be the owners daughters) will warm up to you once yo get to know them. I love middle eastern food, and order it regularly. After trying Sultan, I was surprisingly happy with the flavor. I was also disappointed, because I really wanted it to be terrible. I called in an order and they told me 30 mins. (I live in South Park). After several calls, and an hour and a half later, the food showed up, cold as ice. With this type of food, I'm not willing to sacrifice. That's why I would recommend going into Sultan's for their food, or, ordering your lunch at 9:30 or 10 am, so you can make lunch hour. If you don't have a job or things to do, this may be the type of restaurant that fits you. It's really sad that they were unapologetic, because I would cater from them for my employees regularly if they were reliable. Unfortunately, I need to give this restaurant a low rating even though the food was good. First off, the young girl at the counter was very helpful because it was my first time and she need to explain what was available that late evening. Yes, the place is owned and run by Arabic people, but that doest give the right to mock and belittle other ethnic cultures for what ever demeaning enjoyment they were apparently having. Comments on on others cultures language should not be done in a public setting such as this. Yes, it's a free country, but it doesn't give them the freedom to disrespect others. One of my favorite places for lunch downtown! This was my go to place when I used to work near Pershing Square. Great prices and great food! I usually get the chicken shish kebab plate, which comes with rice, hummus, salad, and a puta bread. The portions are huge so I usually have leftovers for the next day, which is great. It's about $9 for 2 skewers and $11 for 3, which is a pretty good deal. They also have a half chicken (or full chicken) plate with the same sides. It's a similar price to the kebab plate or maybe even cheaper. I wish I still worked downtown cause I'd be coming here all the time!! My only complaint is that service is very slow so I would suggest calling half an hour ahead of time. So many people order from here so you definitely have to place your order before going to pick it up (or with enough time if you're having it delivered). read more

Some tables had crumbs so no good but other that the experience was great. Oh forgot to mention that there's no parking, they close by 530 & they have two new menu items which I was very excited about but bummed that they weren't up on the menu.. I can say the food isn't good, it's actually really good. But, is it worth waiting 40 minutes for a less than impress sized chicken shawarma? I don't thinks so!. I should have guess as to why so many of the pickups, where orders placed over the phone. Chances are if you ordered there, you might start to collect your social security benefits, before you receive your meal. Well I tried and it was good, and I wish could say the same about their customer service. But unfortunately after waiting for a decade, I finally got my food. My coworkers recommend that I taste the garlic sauce, so I asked for one, well to my surprise this scope of mayo was a dollar and with no attempt to increased my satisfaction I was quickly turned away since I had not paid for it. It's a 13 min walk from the center of financial district of downtown, so I ordered on yelp with no fee for pickup. My order was ready at the time I specified but the place was packed! So I recommend ordering in advance so that u don't have to wait in line. I had the famous chicken with garlic sauce, mmm it is the best chicken I have ever had in my life! I have been to enough rotisserie chicken places around town but nothing can compare to this one! It is unbelievably soft, juicy, perfectly salted and the garlic sauce is omg best! Used to love this place, but I will not order from here again. It has always taken them an hour to deliver two blocks, so we have always planned accordingly. However, today it has been more than two hours since we ordered, and it is still not here. We called several times to ask the status of the order, and they continue to tell us it is on it's way, but it still has not arrived. When I called to cancel the order, the manager, Anita, was rude and not helpful...and then she hung up on me! I called again to make sure she processed the refund, and she just told me to ask the delivery for cash back when he arrived. He still isn't here...two hours and 15 minutes later. I walked in here looking for some dinner after a long plane flight to LA, a Flyaway bus ride, and a red line metro ride. After checking into the Omni hotel, I started walking around downtown. I found Sultan, and I'm glad I stopped. I didn't know the menu, but the cook (Chef Alex?) made me exactly what I wanted--veggie kabobs, salad, and some hummus. I also had a falafel ball, which was excellent. The hummus is top notch and the grilled veggie kabobs were good too. This place has excellent service. Called 2 seconds ago, and I was told that it is now leaving the store. Well, that makes little sense. I ordered for delivery and the got here 1 hour and 40 minutes after I ordered. I called them an hour later and they said they were JUST putting in my order. They said to just call them instead of ordering online because they respond faster that way. But then why even bother having an online ordering option? I got the half chicken and it was dry. yo. the hummus. i don't even think i really even liked hummus all that much until i ate this hummus. i've made it before, and always buy it while grocery shopping in an attempt to be healthier, but it usually just sits in my fridge and then i end up throwing it away or feeding it to my friends who actually ARE healthy and eat healthy things like hummus as snacks. the hummus from sultan chicken is sincerely delightful. it tastes amazing and i can't really say much more than that. i always order a side of it and eat most of it, and then eat the rest for breakfast with avocado the next day. everything i've ordered from sultan chicken has been amazing. whole rotisserie chicken was juicy and succulent and the meat practically fell off the bones. chicken kabobs were also great. the rice and garlic paste is on point as well. but dude. get the hummus. read more

I was wandering around Downtown LA and I happened to see this tiny Mediterranean Food restaurant amidst all of the tall buildings. I had never tried any type of Mediterranean cuisine dishes before and thanks to Sultan Chicken I can now tell you that I'm hooked. The Shawarma Plate was very delicious and the servings are plentiful. The garlic paste and the hummus ate ridiculously good and you cannot beat their prices. I am not a chicken person, but man I tried this spot by accident and now I'm hooked with the half chicken plate. The humus is very good and I never had it in my life. These guys are crooks. If you order in store, make sure you check what you are being charged. When I first walked in, I asked for the menu. The cashier handed us the menu and I ordered the chicken sandwich ($7)and a lemonade ($2). When I was signing my credit card receipt, I noticed I was being charged $12. Knowing that my order should be about $10 with taxes I politely asked about the discrepancy. The cashier went back and told me what I was being charged for and the prices were higher than what was on the menu. I responded that I wanted to pay what was listed and she indicated that I had to speak to a gentleman. He seemed middle eastern, not sure if he's manager or owner. I indicated that there was a discrepancy in the prices. He raised his voice and told me those are "New Menu" prices. He was busy preparing food so he just yelled at the cashier to give me the difference but that the next time I came I had to pay "new menu" prices. Let's be real about this con. There is no new menu. This is just the owner who charges whatever he wants with the hope that no one actually checks their receipts. I double checked his menu on grub hub and that matched his menu in store. What I was being charged exceeded both those menus, so that reaffirms that there is no "new menu". I like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt, but in this case I know I was being scammed had I not spoken out. It's only $2 but hey, when thousands of people go there, it adds up. Food was ok, but dealing with a scammer left a sour taste in my mouth. I personally will not come back, but if you do, check what you are being charged, you might have to argue with a grumpy old man so you can pay what is advertised on their menu. read more
