First time trying Sun Nong Dan that wasn't in K-town. Went in a Saturday night around 7:30pm and waited for about 10-15 min and sat right away. They were able to keep the consistency of their sulung tang and galbi jjim! This was the first time we also ordered the mul mandu and will have to start adding this to the rotation. So flavorful and different texture and elements from the soup and stew. Good job SGV! And shout out to Roy and Alex for taking care of us for the night! Also playing BlackPink all night for the blinks Anniversary !

Want Korean at 4 in the morning? You bet! Stopped here for breakfast before catching our flight, and I'm really glad we did. They have breakfast specials for only $12.99, which is a tremendous deal. The service was awesome. Our food came out fast, and they kept checking on us to make sure we had plenty of banchan and hot tea without us having to ask. Tables were clean and welcoming dining area. Our group ordered the Three Meat Deluxe Monster Platter, and wow... the meat was ridiculously tender. The beef back ribs practically fell off the bone, the oxtail was packed with flavor, and the short ribs were some of the best I've had. Everything was cooked perfectly. As a bonus, we had rice cakes added in too! This place is definitely bookmarked for future trips to the LA area. I also found out they have multiple locations, which makes it even better. Looking forward to coming back!

Came here solo at almost 12am and it was still popping on a Saturday. I had to wait for 20-30 mins and it seems that there were not enough staff to handle the crowd. I ordered the beef soup with dried cabbage and I never had this back in the Bay Area. I think the dried cabbage taste was a bit overpowering(100%my personal preference) so if I come next time I'll try their other dishes. This place is very spacious and staff tried their best. I noticed there was water dripping from the pipe on the ceiling and somehow no one (or seem not to)give a damn about it haha!

Today Wang and crew really took great care of our table! This place is always hopping for dinner with a wait out the door but the team is always good at flipping tables between guests to get new folks in. They are great at refills for the ba-chans and drinks. ALWAYS a great meal when we come. Tip: get a Galbi Tang while you wait for the Koh Galbi Jjim- soups are pretty fast here. If you love cheese on the Koh Galbi Jjim bring out your phones for the show!

We ordered one Beef Bone Broth with Brisket and one large Galbi Tang for a family of five, and we were all completely stuffed with plenty left over for at least two more meals. The portion sizes here are massive and definitely worth sharing. The bone broth was lightly seasoned, which I actually appreciated since it allowed us to customize the flavor. Adding a little salt and black pepper gave the soup more depth and really brought everything together. This is one of my absolute favorite Korean comfort foods, and I think this location does it perfectly. They also offer one complimentary soup refill, with additional refills available for $4. Parking was easy with plenty of spaces in the structure. Overall, a great spot for a hearty, satisfying meal with generous portions and delicious, comforting flavors.

This Sun Nong Dan NEVER MISSES. I love their sulung tang and usually get either the beef soup fat removed, beef brisket, assorted meats, or beef cheek. They're honestly all really good and I especially love their sides. It's usually pretty cold inside the restaurant so even on a hot summer day the sulung tang hits. This location is also way less crowded than their other LA locations. Service is also good, the servers are always nice!

Went in for dinner and it was very busy inside on a Friday night. Servers were busy handling other customers so it took a while for them to get our order but they were quick with giving us banchan to start off. It was well lit inside and overall clean with staff who were quick with cleanliness and service. I ordered the Ox Tail Soup and I love how it's not too salty to begin with. Adjusted the salt and pepper to my liking. The oxtail meat came in a variety of sizes and they fell right off the bone. The kimchi and pickled radish was fresh and wasn't too spicy maybe with a little kick but well made overall. Overall refreshing, delicious, and fun to eat too. 10/10

Came by again for a weekday night dinner with the family! When we entered our party was already seated in the back, but there was some people hanging around the entrance. We were a big crowd so had to split our large orders to one per table, it was a bit unusual in terms of timing as half our table ordered first and got rice first but we got our orders at the same time except rice was late (after the fire show). It didn't look super busy, they have plenty of tables available despite people waiting in the front, we came for a 5:30pm dinner so only a couple tables were full, however, we had to continuously flag someone to help us. At 6:30pm when the crowd really picked up, service was harder to get. The food was just as delicious, our side ordered nonspicy but somehow my kid found a few beef pieces spit as there was red pepper flakes, I don't remember it being on the nonspicy version. The banchan and rice were great with the meat, I think the nonspicy is much sweeter but I can taste the beef and sauce more since with the spicy version all I feel is pain. Overall, it was a nice dinner, we did have to ask a few times for more drinks and our other tables rice which not sure if they forgot or they took that long.

Love coming here for galibijjim! Came here with my family and my husband who is Korean and whenever he gets the craving, we come here since his family is in Sacramento and they don't have anything like this up there. Judy was kind and took our order immediately while explaining the menu to my family who came here for the first time. Definitely recommend a try if you haven't!

Mini company event brought me here on a lunch on a Friday and this place continues to not disappoint. We ordered the galbi jim with extra rice cakes and cheese and 7 individual soup orders along with some dumplings. Personally a regular, now the co-workers were all new and never been here before are already talking about coming back lol. Galbi Jim - still amazing, ordered at level one spice, groundbreaking portion as usual and everything was fresh, tender, and bursting with flavor. I personally ordered the Teuk Galbi something soup and with a bit of sesame sauce and salt was a meal in itself. Soup broth is just right hiding the rice noodles, an assortment of onions and tender mouthwatering slabs of rib. The ambiance in here is lively and moderately loud when it's a full house. Ample seating - never have to wait too long and tons of parking. Our server that greeted and took care of us was Alex this run. Alex treated our group like VIPs and just earn this place 5 new regulars as my group was expressing regret not coming here sooner. Alex made the entire experience smooth like a mini vacation rather than just any old restaurant. Will be coming back for lunch also from now on. Other mentions of insane service include Vic ultra friendly and knows exactly what I'm going to order now - my favorite insomnia visits, Ted, Senna(sp?), and Wang. All of them remember us, give us the VIP treatment turning this restaurant into something I look forward to. What's crazy is I see them taking care of everyone around us with equal passion. Benchmark breaking service. Continue to highly recommend this place and yes it's really 24 hours!

Service was fast , greeting was immediate and kind. Our server was Judy and she did great! We tried the #25 specialty " Koh Galbi Jjim " and the medium size was huge. The broth was great a little spicy enough to enjoy the beef was tender and we added cheese which they melted in front of us. The place looks nice from the inside.

Best breakfast deal in SGV! They have specials for 4 soups till 10:30 AM. The soups come out piping hot. The meal also comes with banchan and refills, rice (white or brown) and barley tea. Place is clean with plenty of parking and open 24 hours. A must visit!

They give large portions and everything tastes INCREDIBLE. Super authentic flavors and will definitely be coming back MUST TRY: Beef roll- flaky on the outside and stuffed with delicious marinated beef. My favorite dish Pan fried pork bun- super juicy just like in China Fried squid- the best fried squid I've ever had. Even better than the Hong Kong Cafe. Super crunchy almost like Korean fried chicken in the outside and tender in the inside. Not hard to chew at all! Lemon green tea- absolute massive glass. 100% delicious and not too sweet with a faint jasmine floralness Inside is a bit small but very generous with the AC Definitely come here!

We came here on Sunday at around 2pm and still waited around 30-40min for a table All that time waiting in line meant I had plenty of time to read through reviews and strategize my order, hah! By the way, when you arrive, make sure you go inside the restaurant and get a number and hang out until they call your number. It's pretty low tech lolll. Popcorn chicken - this seems to be a crowd favorite. It was good popcorn chicken but definitely not as good as other places in the area. That said, I do agree that it's good value as the portion is really big. Beef roll - ordered it without cilantro since cilantro is not my friend (sorry cilantro lovers). It ended up tasting a little plain and needed some of the chilli crisp/ oil to give it a little oomph. That said, the crust/ roll was good and the beef was flavorful (not too dry). Not bad, but also not amazing. Pork and veggie dumping in chilli oil - this was also just okay. The dumpling itself was lacking flavor but I guess the sauce helps. Braised beef and tendon noodles - If there's one thing I'd order again, it would be this. I LOVE the texture of the noodle. It has the perfect springy bite. Love love love the noodle. The beef was tender and the soup was okay (Good, not great). But the noodles though, if I could just buy the noodles, I would. If I were to sum up the food, I'd say it's not bad, but not amazing. The value is great since portions are generous, but taste wise is pretty average. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely not. I would not wait more than 10min for a table here to be honest. Would I come back here again if it was less than 10min wait? Yea probably if I was in the area.

The restaurant was filled with families, or parties of one to two people. The menu was very good, there is a window looking into the kitchen, where you see a person making the hand pulled noodles. It was just as fun seeing the guy hand pull noodles as watching the people making fresh noodles at the restaurant near Nordstroms at the Westfield Mall in Arcadia. The weather was hot, so we opted for cold noodles, ordering the Shanghainese style noodles with chili sauce, and the Dan Dan noodles with sliced cucumbers. Two of us shared the two separate bowls of noodles, they were both very tasty. We used the vinegar in the bottle on the table to add more zest in the noodles. Parking is rather difficult, but there was no waiting for a table. We had initially put our names down for our favorite restaurant across the street, P P Pop Restaurant, which had an over half-an-hour wait time. My friend already had an appointment somewhere in an hour, so we hastily went to the Northern Cafe. It is currently a new restaurant under new management, the staff are nice, but were very busy. The fresh noodles had a nice and bouncy texture, you could tell that the noodles were made the same day. The sauces were quite delicious, I liked the Sichuan noodles sauce, but my friend said they were too spicy for her. The Dan Dan noodles were just right, and both bowls were devoured in no time. We definitely will come here again to try out the other dishes!

Our recent visits already warned me, but last night the portion of "meat" served in our usual dishes was cut not in half but 9/10, if not worse. Little pieces of finger nail size of 'meat'.... What happened? The bowls were like 99% noodles (excluding the soup, per se). And the 1/2 tendon 1/2 beef (beef tendon and beef flank)? It was more like no tendon no beef (no tendon, no meat)! I will not be coming back. Even my husband, who used to constantly crave their food, is angry now. It's good that we're on the same page about never going back--period. There is no reason for any restaurant to charge a hefty price for dishes that are basically just noodles. Sorry, no more chances. Good luck to them with their new business model.

On a Saturday evening, my husband and I decided to grab dinner here. Because we parked in the shared parking lot, we entered the restaurant through the back. We were immediately greeted upon entering. After being seated and looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Fish Tofu Congee, $10.50 prior to tax- This meal truly nourished my soul because I was really sick a few days before and hardly ate anything. The congee was nice and hot and thick, just the way I like it. Portion wise, this is perfect for 2- 3 people to share. But again because I had not eaten much for the last few days, I ended up eating most of it (lol, had not realized how hungry I was until I was eating this). My husband did enjoy this congee too. Beef Stew Noodle Soup, $14.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish and thought the soup was flavorful and the noodles had a nice chew. I also liked this dish and thought it was delicious. My husband finished most of this dish. ------------------------------ (Total= $28.10 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly. And because the restaurant is on the small side, it was very easy to get a server's attention if you needed something. Although I did speak mostly Cantonese when I was here (I am actually trying to make myself speak Cantonese more), you can order in English. So you shouldn't have any trouble when you dine here. Overall, coming to The Congee was the right choice for dinner and so glad we did. I do see myself coming back here for another meal in the near future. Please note that there is a unisex restaurant towards the back of the restaurant, right next to the back entrance/ exit. The restroom itself had all the basic essentials (running water, toilet paper, paper towels and soap) but wasn't the cleanest. It was decent at best.

We ordered Garlic Cucumber, Braised Pork Rice, Garlic Water Spinach, Braised Beef Noodles, Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs, Garlic Beef Cubes, and two Thai Milk Teas. I'm able to speak with the owner, who informs me that this restaurant does not use MSG or other ingredients. Everything is fresh and healthy. After tasting the food and the Braised Beef Noodles, I can tell it's really tasty and light, with no harsh components that make you thirsty and want to drink more water. So far, my family and I have really enjoyed the food here. Definitely will return and try other delicious foods next time.

The service was quick and interactions were nice. There are about 4 tables. Everything was clean…read moreand tidy. We ordered the wanton noodle soup with egg noodles and the dumpling soup. The soup was nice, clean, and light. The veggies were perfect: bright green and a bit crisp, not over done. The wantons and noodles were tasty. The dumplings were very nice. Both had thin wrappers, full of shrimp, and so tasty with the chili sauce. We would definitely return. Next time we will be buying some frozen dumplings and wantons to take home.

Vic & Jeff YouTube A Day In videos came through again with another great restaurant recommendation…read morefor Hong Coffee & Bakery. Thanks V & J! They are located next to the Jade Plaza on Garvey Ave in Monterey Park. I parked in the plaza's parking lot, but I'm not 100% sure if they truly are part of the plaza. They may not be. Please read signages. Limited street parking. Upon entry, the lady behind the counter was attending to another customer. When it was my turn, she took my order quickly. She seemed friendly, but not the most smiliest. They are known for their Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup so I got one of them. I saw Preserved Egg with Shredded Pork Congee so I had to get it, too. Lastly, I noticed another customer with an order of Black Sesame Paste... must get an order of that because I love black sesame. I decided to dine-in instead of take-out. This place isn't huge at all. It's a mom and pop whole in the wall very casual establishment with about 4 tables and some chairs. Definitely not a spot for large parties. Now to the food... Shrimp wonton noodles was quite authentic and deliciously good. Broth was light and clean without the msg flavor. Noodles were crisp and had a bouncy texture to it. WOW, wontons were the best! Good amount of quality pork and shrimp filling that was quite flavorfully seasoned. Loved it! Definitely recommend to all wonton egg noodle connoisseurs! Just one itty bitty gripe, portion was small for the price of almost $12. I felt I only got a few good bites from the bowl. I would still get it again though. I'm a sucker for great eats regardless of price LOL. Congee with tasty shredded pork and slightly salted preserved eggs was warm and savory with a soft silky texture and mild comforting flavor. I haven't had such an authentic congee in such a very long time. This is must get every time! It was worth the almost $10. I should have ordered one to-go... for sure next time. For the black sesame paste, this one was a bit of a disappointment. It was cold and not hot. Liquid was very thin. I'm used to thick black sesame. Taste was horrible. It was like eating expired black sesame grains. Did not like it at all. Will not get again. I almost tossed the whole thing away, but ended up adding some pre-packaged flavorful black sesame paste I had at my home pantry to thicken it. Afterwards, it tasted more decent like black sesame should taste. Will I be back? Yes, I'll be back for the wonton noodles and congee plus to try their other authentic Chinese dishes. They sell frozen wontons and dumplings, too. I will have to buy a bag or two of them next time. Thanks Hong Coffee & Bakery!
