I saw this place getting rave reviews on Instagram and decided to give it a try. Don't believe the hype. It started the moment I walked in--the restaurant had an awful smell that should have been a warning sign, but I ignored my gut feeling. The service was equally disappointing. My server was weird and awkward--I asked for bottled water, and he claimed they didn't have any, even though it was clearly visible in the fridge behind him. When I pointed it out, he just laughed. Not to talk about his bad, slow and inattentive service overall.. Now for the worst part--the food. The sushi was mushy, bland, and everything tasted the same. Even the cucumber salad, which only has two ingredients, was ruined--the cucumbers were dry and clearly pre-cut and sitting in the fridge too long. I started with miso soup and spicy garlic edamame. The miso was good and had crispy onions in it. The spicy garlic edamame wasn't very spicy but had a decent garlic flavor. The restaurant is very clean and quiet with appropriate music (which I really liked) and the service was phenomenal. The food was out within five minutes and the waiter checked on us regularly. There are several issues with this location. First off, they are not amply staffed enough to serve even more than 1 table. Our table of 4 was given fulfilled rounds of sushi platters at a slow rate and were stopped completely upon another person coming in for a takeout order. All the ordering at this location is done on a tablet that has low connection to the kitchen software. This brings the biggest issue - there's no verification that the orders you put in will come out or are in process. When we saw that new orders were not coming out after 30 minutes of waiting, we had asked for clairification on the progress for our new platters, only to find that none of them were received by the kitchen. Instead of communicating this, they looked at their employee computer and walked away. This left us in confusion: Do we need to order more on the tablet? Did the tablet receive all of our orders? Are we being charged for items we won't receive? We had to stand up and speak to another worker that was tending to the takeout order in order to verify our true order status. On top of this system issue, the issues stem from service upon us sitting down. We were the only customers in the store. They had refused to give us a second menu for our table of 4 - rather directing us to share the menu by laying it on the wall. They had given us a wrong order that we didn't order with the warning that we had to pay for items still left on our table uneaten. They had neglected to take our next orders by hand after the system was evidently not processing new orders. To be clear, the lack of service isn't due to the bussers or waiters. They aren't given any tools to take orders apart from the dysfunctional tablet. The main owner refused to assess our situation and act accordingly. I'm making this review to notify others that this place shouldn't be more than 2 stars. Don't come here. Just wait in line elsewhere read more

There are so many options for appetizers, rolls, nigiri, and even soups/salads. We arrived shortly after opening and it was already pretty packed in there. Our server was attentive and frequently passed by to clear up plates and ask us if we wanted to order more. The sushi rolls were soooo good, each one with its own unique flavor. We waited over thirty minutes for our final appetizer, (which never came) even after we paid. The ambiance is nice there's a lot of tv's that play various programs. It's an open kitchen so you can hear everything the cooks are saying to the waitresses. Which brings up a nice little moment when our server told the cooks "I forgot to ring this order in." Overall would not come back too way too long and the experience was not worth the wait. Final summary: Sitting for an additional 30minutes after paying for our oysters, baked mussels, and ice cream to come out. What a gem!! My family and I stumbled upon this hole in a wall AYCE sushi. This place has options for everyone!! When I checked out this place on Yelp, I mainly saw photos of rolls, so I didn't have very high expectation for AYCE sushi. But my goodness, what a find! The menu is expansive, and everything that my family of 6 ordered was superb. We especially liked the Ono, which was such a buttery, melt in your mouth fish that we had never tasted before. And i've never had sashimi at an AYCE place before, but this place had it! The AYCE price included sashimi, Korean BBQ short ribs, dessert, hand rolls, rolls, nigiri, and more. The service was excellent. The main waitress, was so kind and gave us great recommendations. And the sushi chef came out to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. I love sushi and wanted to take myself on a solo date after work. This place has a decent variety of items for its price and probably one of the better seared salmon nigiri that I have had in a while. The creamy shrimp wonton is also amazing. However, the wait time was horrible. My first order contained a roll and 4 orders of nigiri and that took 30 minutes to get I all out. I ordered a lot more afterwards to keep the food coming during my wait and after another 30 minutes, I decided to get dessert and leave. The water here was also undrinkable. Sushi rolls were drowned in subpar sauce. Miso soup was disgusting. They added what we believe to be tempura crunch to it? Soggy flakes. No flavor. They kept trying to give us food we did not order. This happened 3 different times. They are very unorganized. *My partner asked for a refill on his drink. He had a clear plastic straw and noticed that when it came back, a thicker red straw was placed inside his drink. He was disgusted because we do not know where the straw came from. If they wanted to replace the straw, they could've allowed us to unwrap it and put it in. My partner believes they mixed up his drink in the back with another table and couldn't drink out of his cup after that. Would not return... Service and food would need to improve greatly. read more

I've been to this spot a few times and enjoy the amount of fish I can get here. It's nice that they provide UNLV students a 10% discount as well with your Rebel ID. The fish is great and good quality. I just wish the fish to rice ratio was a bit more even. The fish is big but not much rice to accompany it on sushi. My personal preference for sashimi is just getting the fish without any special spices or sauces because I feel it doesn't go too well together.
