Found this place on a whim on a Monday afternoon and omg what a gem! Sushi spots are so common, and it's rare that I'm impressed by a place, but this is my new go-to spot! We had: oysters, the Mexican roll, Alaska roll, and eel nigiri. Everything was DELICIOUS!! The absolute star of the show was the eel nigiri... TO DIE FOR. Best eel I've ever had. Fatty melt-in-your-mouth with crispy edges and perfect amount of sauce. We didn't try any sashimi this time, but will definitely be back for that! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. The place is tiny, but luckily it was pretty empty on a Monday afternoon. They did say it gets very busy on weekends during dinner. I took a large party (10 people) here this past Saturday and everything from the food to the service was phenomenal. We weren't all able to be seated together due to the boutique size of the restaurant, but they allowed us to take a 6 top & 4 top table right next to each other which worked great! The Sushi was phenomenal! Highlights were the albacore and blue fin ngiri, spicy salmon and crab cut rolls, all the specialty rolls, and the Izakaya items as well like the K-dak. Food came out fresh and quick, but paced in a way that we were not overwhelmed. Again, water was never empty and anytime you needed any assistance someone was there with a smile. We visited sushigah for a quick lunch with a friend and it was a good experience. The food was good, space is casual.

There was no wait for dinner but sat at the bar since seating was limited. I ordered oysters and baked mussels to start. The oyster came with sauce that made it spicy. I liked that the baked mussels came with just the right amount of sauce. Then I picked some sushi to share. My favorite was the jumbo scallop because it was super tender and big. The Canadian clam was so big that it was sliced open to stuff rice inside. Lastly the lemon salmon roll was soft and delicious. The servers were attentive and came to add water to our cups several times. When the bill came, I saw that my order of baked mussel was over charged by $1 and oyster was over charged by $2. I don't leave reviews often but this place was pretty amazing for a local sushi restaurant the fish was incredibly fresh. Saturday was my first time trying Sushigah. I am impressed by the fact that this restaurant has a great picture of each and every dish they offer posted to their site. They offer Korean food as well as sushi. After perusing their lengthy menu my husband and I settled on sharing an order of garlic edamame. He ordered the Bulgogi Ramen for his entree and I chose Soy Curls Bulgogi (Vegetarian). The garlic edamame was a win! If you love garlic, I highly recommend starting with this appetizer. The flavor is phenomenal and the garlic really elevates the dish. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect from my Soy Curls Bulgogi (vegetarian) as I have never had the meat version to compare it to. My husband tasted some of mine and said the flavor was spot on. I love the subtle sweetness and the texture was nice too. I really enjoyed the fact that nothing was greasy or drowned in sauce. It was just delicious flavor and the portion was large enough for 2-3 meals as it comes with miso soup & rice. My husband said his Bulgogi Ramen was flavorful with the perfect amount of spice and he would order it again. This place was a real win for us. We really enjoyed our Saturday lunch at Sushigah. Parking at the Old School Garage was perfect as this restaurant is located on the S/E corner nearest Raymond and Green St. We felt this new sushi spot was so well priced for the location and quality. We started with the garlic edamame and the DJ Tuna. I ordered the Bulgogi Ramen and asked that it be extra spicy. Served hot and with just the right level of kicked up spice, the Bulgogi Ramen was oh so good! Next we shared the Cucumber Special Roll with three kinds of fish and crab wrapped in cucumber ( no rice) so refreshing we wanted another. The spider roll had the perfect tempura crab within the roll. So many other items to try, we look forward to returning to Sushigah. read more

Checked out this new sushi spot in Pasadena feel a lot like an Izakaya restaurant lots of sushi,rolls and bento boxes. Decided on the combo sushi plate, lemon salmon roll and a salmon teriyaki bento box. The food was really good tasting, everything in the bento box was cooked well. Parking: It is located right next to the structure on Green St, so it was a quick walk over. We were here for a little under 2 hours which translated to $1.00 in parking. Some of the 2-person tables are definitely a little tiny, so I can see this not being super comfortable if you're a taller or bigger person. I felt a little squished at the 2 person high top. Sushigah is an amazing addition to Old Town! After seeing signs about the grand opening, we finally tried it for the first time yesterday during lunch on a Sunday. It wasn't super crowded when we arrived, but after we sat down, the seats slowly started to fill up. I loved the korean-inspired design of the interior, and every seat in the restaurant gets a great amount of natural lighting since it is located on a corner lot with big windows. They promptly brought us menus and asked if we wanted any drinks. You can use a QR code to see the menu online with beautiful photos in addition to the very high quality menus they bring to the table. Most of our food came probably about 10-15 minutes after we ordered, and the sweet shrimp sushi that my bf's sister ordered came last maybe around another 15 minutes after the first group of food had arrived. I shared the K-Dak (Korean fried chicken appetizer) and Jirashi Bowl (Chirashi bowl) with my bf, while my bf's sister took salmon sushi, a handroll, and sweet shrimp sushi. The presentation of every dish was absolutely beautiful. The K-Dak was like a lighter version of Korean fried chicken--it had the same sweet chili sauce on the outside typical of most Korean fried chicken places, but the pieces tasted very light and tender like slices of white meat chicken breaded in a tempura batter. The jirashi bowl nice thick cuts of fresh fish, tamago, artificial crab, seaweed salad, masago, pickled ginger and wasabi on top of a bed of sushi rice with furikake. The soy sauce on the table is in a cute bottle and also tastes great quality. My bf's sister also enjoyed the food she ordered, so everything we got was very delicious. As a sushi restaurant, prices are not the most affordable, but I think the quality, presentation, flavor, and service are worth the money. It will be a "yes" in my book every time. Pictured is the k-dak, Gangnam roll, and spicy tuna on crispy rice which quickly became my favorites on the menu on my second visit. The Gangnam roll was particularly enjoyable, with a citrusy sauce to enhance the flavor of that salmon. As delicious as these dishes were, the real star of our meal that is not pictured, is the bulgogi ramen! Definitely a shareable portion, I like to split it with my partner so we can try a couple different options from the menu. But don't be fooled, it is no ordinary ramen. The broth is rich, the meat is tender, and the noodles...THICK. Truly I feel lucky when I find a place like this that makes me savor each bite and leaves me wanting more. I generally would visit a place at least 3x before I'd write a review but I've made an exception for Sushigah. I made my first visit today and enjoyed one of the best bowl of tempura udon I've ever had and can't wait to try other items off their menu. My bowl of noodle soup came out piping hot (just the way I like it) and was full of umami. I also ordered their 2-piece uni (Santa Barbara), which was fresh and creamy. This restaurant appears to be serving up Korean-Japanese fusion since they have bulgogi and bibimbap alongside sushi and udon noodle soups. Ambiance is aesthetically pleasing and service was attentive. It is located on the corner of Green St and Raymond Ave with paid parking garage next door. The restaurant is small to medium sized with an L shape. It was clean and comfortable. We were seated as soon as we walked in the night before the rose bowl. The waiter was nice and gave us recommendations when asked. We shared shishito peppers (yum!) and bulgogi ramen. I'm not usually a fan of ramen, but this was tasty. I had the veggie tempura, which was also good. I was disappointed there were no mushrooms, but there was a good variety otherwise. The 3 other people liked their sushi a lot. Personally, one of the best sushi places I've ever had, I would say it's comparable to Japan in regards to sashimi. The price of the place is very affordable and valuable, the portions are also huge. I tried the chef specifically sashimi and all the cuts given were large. Each sashimi was unique and flavorful in their own way, i was able to try sashimi I've never had before. I loved the garlic edamame, I never realized that edamame can be elevated so significantly. I would highly recommended. Ordered takeout dinner at Sushigah in Old Town Pasadena, and overall it was a pretty great experience! The rolls were definitely the highlight--delicious, fresh, and well-crafted. I tried a couple of their specialty rolls, and the flavors were spot on. The fish was fresh, and the sauces and ingredients complemented each other really well. However, I wasn't quite as impressed with the tempura shrimp. It lacked the light crispiness that I love about good tempura--the pieces seemed skinny, almost like frozen store bought tempura, and not as fresh as I hoped. Definitely room for improvement there. One other thing I'll also mention is the packaging. I understand takeout needs to be convenient, but they need to really work on cutting down the plastic waste. There was a lot of it, and in this day and age, more eco-friendly alternatives would go a long way toward a better experience. Despite those small issues, Sushigah is a solid spot if you're in Pasadena and craving some tasty sushi. I saw a great deal of wonderful reviews of sushi, and was curious since I had never been here. My friend and I went to yoga down the street and was really looking forward to a nice sushi meal. We put our names down and took a walk since there was a little bit of a wait, the store is quite small, so make sure that you, put your name down on the waiting list before you do anything else. We ordered the calamari rings, a rainbow roll, the baked scallop roll, and the spider roll between the two of us. We did eat everything and pretty proud. It was perfect amount of food, but also was very fulfilling, and we were very full and had to make sure that we finished everything, the staff was super nice and quick and we were in and out with the great experience and can't wait to go back to try their other dishes. read more

I have not actually dined in but have ordered their food for pick up plenty of times. And the reason I keep coming back because its that good. I say this because of their quality. I was a little overwhelmed with this menu at first because they have ALOT of rolls. I've only had a few of them but have yet to try them all. I've had their Super Tiger Roll, Snow Roll, Dragon Roll, Oh Baby Roll, and the Yellowtail Special and it is delicious. This restaurant is fairly still newish. They are located in Old Town Pasadena. If you find that Beyonce parking or street parking then you are one lucky cookie. There is free 90 min parking in a parking structure next to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is small. But I love that it is small. It has character. And the staff are so nice and welcoming every time I come to pick up. They are usually if not on time with their ETA for pick-up. It's a fusion sushi place. The fish is good, it's better than Aikan level, not sugarfish but definitely not as bad as Kaiba. I got the uni and amaebi nigiri and yellowtail carpaccio all of which were pretty good. The amaebi didn't taste as fresh as other places but definitely not bad at all. The deep fried shrimp heads were good and crunchy... Partner ordered the sushi combo, said it wasn't the best so I can't speak for that... uni was $28, amaebi was about $20... I probably won't go out of my way for it but just wanted to try at least once given this place is new... Love the Christmas decor, good customer service. read more
