So, my review is going to be as honest as I can make it. Sorry for those people who love this place. 1. For some reason, I have a hard time finding good Thai around here. This place has the best Thai compared to the other Thai restaurants in the area which is why it gets these amazing reviews. 2. The portions are small. 3. The service is HORRIBLE. 4. The prices are high for the portions you get 5. The food is average, it is not the greatest thai I have ever had. When comparing it to other Thai in the area, however, it shines bright like a diamond...ya know what I am saying? 6. Don't try to eat in during lunch or dinner unless you have nothing to do for at least 2 hours and you don't mind never having something to drink while you are eating Thai. 7. My husband and I spent $40 with tip.No drinks. It's just Thai...for a place with 6 booths and a dream, Thai shouldn't cost this much for two people. It's cost that much because you have to order 3 -4 menu items to be full. 8. Ton Yum soup is very good. My dad and I had dinner at Sutha tonight and the dinner was average. The servers were friendly and fast, considering the place was packed. We shared the steamed chicken dumplings for our appetizer & they were by far the best part of the meal. My dad had the beef fried rice for his entrée & I had the Kung Pao Chicken. Yep, they still got it. My husband and I drove over to their location and got a variety of entrees to go. The driving around the store itself is a bit hectic to navigate, but it was worth it. Seriously, support a business that not only gives you amazing food for low,low prices, but has top notch service. They have had a really hard time growing to match their popularity. Service is sketchy, they make mistakes, they are usually stretched thin but the food is excellent. This is literally the tiniest place I've ever eaten. You may have to wait for a table because they have only a few. The service is a little slow at times, but since the place is so small, a server is never too far away to find! The food here is excellent. Absolutely delicious. I've tried several dishes and they were all very flavorful and also well cooked. The veggies were firm but not too crunchy...just perfect. My fav dish is the chicken pad see ew. Cream cheese wontons are also not to be missed! This place is an A-. It would be an A if they had more tables (this restaurant seats about 15 people at best). I've only came here once for take-out, my friend and I shared the Pad Thai and Pad See Ewe. The Pad Thai's noodles were really legit, but I think overall it lacked a strong flavor, I recommend adding some hot sauce to it. The Pad See Ewe was done extremely well. It wasn't too oily like other places, and the ingredients felt fresh and flavorful. Pick this over the Pad Thai. HOLE IN THE WALL! (best places to go!!!) Me and my girlfriend were craving Thai food and wanted to find something new. So we turned to Yelp for some help, haha. We were the only people eating at the time (during dinner hour of 6PM), and this worried me. After being greeted by the owner, who was very nice! We ordered the beef pad see ewe, shrimp fried rice, and veggie pad thai. The food didn't take too long to come out. Pad see ewe - Really good! I have been to many Thai places and gauge by their pad see ewe. It was definitely authentic and the noodles were perfectly cooked. None were stuck together and it wasn't soggy. Shrimp fried rice - Basic Thai style. Simple and good. Pad Thai - My girlfriend loved the pad thai! the flavor was well balance, not too tangy and not too sweet. Noodles were perfect! As we wrapped up our meal, the owner came out and asked us how the food was and made some conversation with us. We both enjoyed it even though we had doubts, we are now believers! If you're looking for legit, this is it! My friend introduced me to this place because they serve the BEST pad thai she ever had. I agree, it was really good! I feel like such a lame-o for having only tried the pad thai. Even the older waiter was shaming me for being so vanilla but I just had to try what my friend was talking about. Yellow Curry Chicken with salad. -I LOVED the salad dressing, it was tart and very light with lightly crushed penuts. -The yellow curry chicken -mild, was perfect in heat and lots of flavor. -The chicken was lean and nicely cooked. Came here on a Friday night before the mad rush. There aren't a lot of tables, but I came early enough to grab a seat with my companion. The service was extremely friendly, and we sat down with menus immediately. I got the Pad See Ew, and the Duck Curry. The Pad See Ew came out fairly quickly, and was amazing. I devoured that dish in no time. After that was the Duck Curry, which came after some waiting. This dish was great, with ample duck, and the curry was delicious. By now, the dinner crowd was coming in and out of the restaurant, and you could tell it was keeping the servers busy. When the servers had time to come back to our table, they refilled our waters, and took our order for dessert -- mango with sticky rice. It did take a while, but the dessert was very sweet and tasty. Overall, I thought the food was excellent. It's a great mom and pop restaurant with very friendly service. As people have commented, they could probably use an additional server since this place seems to be really popping, which means you might have to wait for some things. But if you can find an off-peak time, you'll love the food here. read more

We waited a moment at the door to see if anyone would seat us at the open table right next to the door but everyone was busy with other tasks so we sat ourselves. We waited about 5 minutes for menus and when they didn't come we decided just to grab them ourselves. A woman took our order and she didn't seem too friendly but I can understand since it was so busy. Still, we weren't feeling too great about Sutha at this point because we were hungry and it made the service seem that much worse. Out comes our food and we're excited to eat. We start eating and we were DELIGHTED after we tasting our red curry with tofu and pad-see-ew with tofu. Both were so delicious that I felt a little remorse for being overly critical of the service we received when we first walked in. Heard about this place from a friend, and tried it with my cousins- and the food was really good! Their yellow curry is really yummy! We also had the tom yum soup (I think that's what it's called) and the papaya salad, which were also pretty good. We had another dish (which I can't seem to remember for some odd reason, but that was pretty good too!) I just got back from Thailand and this food is pretty comparable to what I tried there (although I tried different things in Thailand). Living in Irvine, I find that there aren't that many great Thai restaurants to eat at. However, Sutha Thai Kitchen is pretty good! The location is very small, so you might end up eating outside. The parking lot for this restaurant is also very small, but street parking is available. My S/O and I wanted a snack and ordered a pad thai here one night for take out. The total was a little under $9, which isn't that cheap IMO. Although the take out containers seem small, the food was plenty to share between two. Our pad thai was made just right, not too salty or too oily. We will be back to try more! read more

My NEW FAVORITE place for Thai in the area! I have ordered delivery through Postmates probably 6 times in the past two-three months, so I can't comment on service or the restaurant itself. The delivery is quick. The food is great! We've ordered several noodle dishes and several of the appetizers. Every one of the noodle dishes has been exactly what I wanted. I ordered the appetizer sampler platter most recently and it was a TON of food. So worth ordering, and less expensive than ordering any two of he others. The only thing I would not order again is the Spring Rolls. I've ordered them three times, and every time they've already split apart by the time the food is delivered. We've had to eat them like a salad. Still, the ingredients have been fresh, and this is not a bad enough offense to cost them another star. The reason for four stars instead of five is that there have been issues with ordering through Postmates. If I order two of the same entree, it shows up in their system as one. So the food arrives, and one person doesn't get to eat. I know it's not necessarily them, but if they reached out and fixed it I would happily change my review to five stars! read more

They yellow curry with chicken and pad thai is so amazing. I went during a lunch special and had a very delicious lunch. The yellow curry is very rich and it tastes like they use a lot of coconut milk which I love. I would highly recommend this place to a friend. My girl friend and I stopped by here for lunch today. This is a great family run hole in the wall establishment. It's tiny and only seats about 10 people but the food is huge on flavor. The prices are great and the customer service was A-1. We ordered the shrimp pad thai, Mongolian beef and the sinfully delicious cream cheese wontons. But they make the best Panag I have had in a very long time, maybe even the best in OC :) I also had a mixed veggie with Chicken along withe Panag with Chicken. The food tastes fresh and the chicken is white meat. Unlike some family owned Asian restaurants, they seem to use fresh ingredients and the food doesn't leave behind a funny after taste. I ordered: PAD WOON SEN w/ shrimp ($7-8) (glass noodle dish w/vegetables): Really well flavored. GARLIC CHICKEN dinner special ($8) which the server (probably owner as well) suggested I add vegetables, which I did. This came in their dinner special with fried rice, tofu sour soup (I forgot the actual name) and fried wontons. Really good for the price. Fresh spring rolls: I'm not much of a spring roll fan, but my friend ordered this and I had a taste. It was pretty good. Again, no strange after taste. Overall experience was well worth it. I had really high hopes here seeing that they received a pretty solid 4 stars, but sadly my expectations were not met. We ordered the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, Green Curry with Chicken, and an order of the mango sticky rice. As everyone has stated before, this place is very small and can easily be missed. All I can say is its in a very small plaza, like only 4 other shops in the vicinity, and across the street from the bigger plaza with the Michaels. Go slow, or you'll definitely miss it. Unfortunately the only item I was really wow'd by was the mango sticky rice. If you haven't had it before, it's a must. Seriously! Asian desserts like these can be very rich in flavor but they won't leave you feeling like you've had a huge piece of chocolate cake. The mango was sweet and fresh and was most likely an Indian of Philippine Mango, those mangoes are the sweetest you'll ever find. The rice was perfectly sweetened with coconut cream and cooked to the right chewy consistency. The rest of the dishes were ok, but my sister and I were somewhat disappointed with the Pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mow. She ordered her noodles hot and she said she could barely taste the heat, especially for a Thai restaurant. Unfortunately the pad thai wasn't as flavorful and sour as I like. The curry was ok, but the chicken seemed a little dry. Just because it's in a sauce, doesn't mean it's not overcooked. The pad see ew was good, but I honestly have never had one that was bad. So, there you have it. Mango sticky rice- Definite Yes, ask for your food to be very very hot if you like it spicy, and pass on the pad thai. Pretty good. I got the pork pad thai and it was pretty tasty and a little on the sweet side. The pad thai usually doesn't come with any spices so I asked them to make it medium spicy. The plates are very big so it makes the portion size look smaller than it actually is. Make sure to call ahead for reservations (idk if they do that) or take out because there are literally 6 tables and the restaurant is SUPER small. Best Thai Restaurant in OC that I've had. I'm half thai and eaten off street vendors to 5 star restaurants in Bangkok and some great places in Thai Town and North Hollywood and this place is still among my favorite places. My coworkers and I found this place via Yelp and now have several people addicted to this place. Two or three days in a week you might find someone from my office eating there for lunch because we love it that much. The owner Koman (sp?) is a great guy and is always friendly and helpful with any suggestions you might ask of him. The yellow curry is probably the 1 meal that most of my friends love and I know one who can only order that dish it because she loves it so much. Not to say the other dishes arent great, I have tried all of their curries and they are all amazing. Any of the pan fried noodles are great, they do not use too much oil like most thai places tend to do and make all of their dishes with a great fresh taste. One of the keys to the quality of the food is clearly the quality of the ingredients they use. It is clear this tiny restaurant has a high turnover rate and minimal storage capacity. I have seen the owner's wife coming in before the lunch rush with more fresh ingredients. I cannot recommend this place enough to my friends and if you get a chance to try it, I'm sure you'll love it too. Its a small place and gets crowded at lunch, especially on Fridays. So I suggest arriving at 11:30 or earlier. They're a 3 person crew running the whole place and they can only handle so much. Great find! This MAY seem overrated, but for me, it stands out after eating a bunch of Thai food in the Irvine area and even throughout OC (Thai Gulf, Thai Spice, Papaya Thai to name a few). Pad Thai - SOLID. A very hefty serving. I'd be extremely full eating this by myself. Great flavors and fragrance. Also, noodles had a good texture, somewhat... al dente? Green Curry - this may arguably be my most favorite Thai dish next to Pad Thai. It was realllly good. It wasn't too overly salty or creamy. So it was light but with good flavor. The dessert Mango Sticky Rice is also a MUST try. The rice is covered with some warm gooey white coconut which gave it a somewhat savory touch. And paired with sweet mangos was a great combination. Though, I do wish the mangos were cold, but that's just personal opinion. Thai Iced tea was also good. Strong tea flavor, def. not diluted. A heads up, this place is SMALL! It's a mom and pop little hole in the wall. Which.. in general, is a good thing, but can be bad if you want to eat there. I noticed a lot of people ordering take out.. or have phoned in their order. I might consider that next time. But luckily, we were seated immediately. I had no issues with the service. The gentleman was VERY nice and I could tell was working as fast as he could. read more

This is a decent local Thai restaurant for lunch. The food is fresh and they have affordable lunch specials. There is limited seating so it's not the best restaurant for groups. Overall the food is fairly consistent and my favorite item on the menu is the Pad Woon Sen, stir fried glass noodles. It's perfect for a quick lunch during the week, but I wouldn't come here for a nice dinner on a date, it doesn't have that atmosphere. The owners are really nice too! read more
