Wow! I'm obsessed with this place. Based on the positive reviews they have, this place lived up to its expectations. We went during lunch on a Saturday, and the line was out the door. However, it did end up going by fast because we were comfortable sitting outdoors. Service was okay, nothing particular to point out. Sweet Maple is one of our favorite brunch spots in San Francisco. What I like about this place is they offer a number of unique dishes that you don't often find at other breakfast spots. You can only eat so may eggs and bacon or omelettes! If haven't tried it, the Millionaire's Bacon is a must try. It is a thick cut of bacon cooked and coated with a sweet and savory thick sauce. Not inexpensive but worth a splurge once in a while. Instead of ordering it a la carte, I recommend ordering it as part of entree or dish. Today, we ordered the Blackstone Eggs Benedict which includes a slice of the Millionaire's Bacon. The Benedict is nicely done with the running egg and the hollandaise sauce is spot on. 5 out of 5 Another dish that you don't find often at other breakfast spots is Pizza. Who doesn't like Pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?? Anyway, the pizzas are solid and I guess what makes it different than a regular pizza is they put an egg over it. I've had better pizzas in the Bay Area but this is a solid 4 out of 5. The pizza edge is really crispy. The toppings are generous and fresh. I also recommend the Soufflegg Skillets which is a soft steamed egg scramble on a skillet. My favorite is the Savory which is scampi shrimps with crispy bacon. While I didn't try, they do offer a bottomless Mimosa for $26 per person from morning to 1:30 pm weekdays and until 2 pm on weekends. My daughter had Eggs Benedict and the granddaughter had fresh fruit, fresh squeezed OJ in an ADULT glass (because she is a Big Girl now). While we paid our tab we heard a woman scream "I'm giving this restaurant a ONE STAARR REVIEW on YELP because of this WAIT!!!" OMG I thought someone had been ROBBED--but..on THIS Mother's DAY..it was only a spoiled young lady with poor manners. There is always a line, and our previous three attempts to try out their food had failed mainly due to the long wait, but we finally made it today. If you go early enough (before 10), the wait seems to be shorter. Regarding food, we tried a few options, from the bacon sampler, tacos, fried rice special, eggs Benedict, and the souffleggs. While I usually go for the Big Hip French Toast at the other locations (sadly not on the Walnut Creek menu), the blueberry version was a nice substitute fluffy, sweet, and satisfying. I had a really disappointing experience with our server, Mote, at Sweet Maple. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for 5-6 years, I was honestly shocked by how rude and dismissive he was. My boyfriend and I came in for brunch to celebrate his birthday. We ordered two martinis, but I didn't like one of them and politely asked if I could switch it. He immediately said, "We don't do that here," and then questioned me multiple times like, "Are you sure you'll actually like the other one?" It felt condescending and unnecessary. Before even taking the drink away, he added, "You can't just try everything," which came off extremely rude. There was a line on a Saturday morning. We waited around 30 minutes and although there was many people there, I felt like it was not worth the price or quality. I had gotten a French toast and it was alright. The sides were crunchy (but were unexpected). The fruits were fresh. The service was also good. This place is worth the wait! Was scared when we saw a long line, but it moves fairly quickly especially if you're okay sitting outside. Everything on the menu looked so good so we got a bunch of things to share - recommend doing this! Our favorites were the deep fried French toast and the ramen. Highly recommend! Also if you have more than 2 people, definitely try the millionaires bacon sampler, we all had different favorites. The service was wonderful with quick food and then always filling our waters.
