I get taken out from here a lot, and they typically mess at least one food order up every time, but this time they gave me the wrong soup instead of my egg flour after repeating it like 5 times on the phone. I go back to get the correct soup and they act like they never had to seen me before even though only 20 minutes had gone by? Then they made me pay for the soup that they messed up on. Been going here for years and they know me but today when picking up my order that I called in and came in to get it the lady totally ignored me I was invisible. My order was ready in a bag but the lady kept helping the people entering and never acknowledged me. I actually walked out talked to my friend in the car came back in and there was no lady she was zigzagging around the restaurant so I went outside again came back in and she acknowledged me for a second then someone came in and just turned away to help them. I walked out gave my credit card to my friend who went in and got my bag sitting right on the desk. She was rude to her slamming the bag in front of her. I have been ordering food to go from here for many years. This place is super consistent. My food order is always ready in 25 minutes or less. The food is piping hot with the containers packed full. The staff is super friendly and the food is damn good. I normally order the same dishes every time, but this last time I tried one new thing which was there veggie low mein. Omg! The food is great, no denying it! I always get the pineapple fried rice (which is not on the menu). The (usually) nice lady at the counter thinks for a second, then asks the kitchen, then puts pineapple in there for me every time! Super! So I finally decide to sit down to eat there. The waitress is not nice and judges me and my bf before we even sit down with a nasty glare. She finally takes our order after laughing with other folks for 15 minutes, and I ask for my beloved pineapple fried rice. She looks at me and says no we don't make that. I said "Well you did the last five times I have been in." So the waitress grabs the front desk woman and then she proceeds to tell me that she's worked there 15 years and never has she seen pineapple fried rice be ordered. I said okay well I have ordered it from this exact location about five times in the past month so give me a break! Sheesh. She says they will not make it. I ask if they have pineapple, yes. I ask if they have fried rice, yes. So what's the issue? OH the issue is, "We just don't do that here." I say okay... a bit hypocritical (since they did it not more than three days before) and they didn't seem to care when I left. I think there's something weird and gamble-y happening there at night. Very average American-Chinese restaurant in a strip mall just south of the Kruse Way/Boones Ferry Road intersection. The food was typical of Chinese in Portland, most everything was deep fried with some kind of sweet sauce on it. At least the General Tso's tasted different than the sesame shrimp. Service was good, but I would expect that to be true since there was only one other occupied table. Most entres hover in the $12-13 range with some of the seafood dishes at $15+, which seems high until you see the portions and realize that you'll have leftovers for lunch the next day. All in all, this is a decent place to satisfy your craving for standard Chinese, but not worth the trip if it is out of your way. read more

So perhaps it is just my flavor palette. All-in-all, Lake Oswego doesn't really have much in the way of Chinese food choices, so for what it does have, I'd say this ranks near the top. The egg rolls were really spring rolls and was SO greasy - not edible. The sign said if you pay cash you get 5% off. That did not happen. False advertisement. Why do they prefer cash? I've gone to this restaurant many times. My favorite dishes are the won ton soup and the scallion pancakes. I like the fact that they have delicious brown rice. The house special fried rice made with the brown rice option is outstanding. I'm also a fan of the long green beans. Every time I've gone I have received outstanding and genuinely polite service and the wait staff is exclusively Chinese, always a good sign in my book. read more

I wish there was an option for zero stars. Not only did they mess up our order, but the restaurant was filthy (my wife said she saw a cockroach) and there was a hair in our food. After a two-hour long ordeal, we finally gave up and left, disgusted. I finally tried this place for lunch as it's probably the closest Chinese restaurant to me. It was just OK. Simply nothing to write home about. Edible, not horrible, but CERTAINLY not authentic Hong-Kong style Chinese food. So far, Ocean City holds the top rating with me for such desires. I don't really care much for Chinese food, but we order from Szechuan Kitchen all the time for work lunches. I always just get some hot and sour soup, but it is very tasty. I have never heard a co-worker complain about any of their dishes, and based on frequency with which we order from there, it has to be good food. I discovered this place by accident when we were looking for delivery during covid. I ordered on line and completely thought I was ordering from the other Szechuan restaurant on Macadam. When the food arrived it was delicious instead of mediocre! Which is what I was used to from the other place. What a happy case of serendipity!!! Placed order on Saturday evening. Paid at the front desk;order not ready. That was okay no big deal. I was left at the front desk; started taking notice of the restaurant. Not one person was there at 5:00 PM. Odd? So... starting to notice the filth. Front desk so dirty. Computer and keyboard covered! in dust and dirt. Food partials trappings in the monitor frame. Carpet disgusting. Doors extremely dirty. I had already paid for food and hoped for the best. Opened food containers at home and very strange smell like the plastic coating from the box. Ate very little of the food as I knew it would make us ill...and yes it did. I called to tell them and they were extremely defensive. Please take note of this review and see for yourself. We called ahead and specifically asked if they could prepare a couple of vegetarian dishes as vegan and were assured they could - and to just add a comment to the online order. We did that - and also specified that we needed utensils since we're in a hotel. First, we had no utensils (and the grubhub guy had nothing), so we had to scrounge around in the hotel for that. Then we started to eat and the "vegan" fried rice had egg in it. When we called the restaurant, they said we had to drive there and they'd replace it. ARGH. Overall, the food was fine (I'd give it a 4), but lack of utensils and the hassle of driving 15 minutes roundtrip to get what we'd ordered was a pain. Won't patronize them again. read more
