T. Anthony's is one of my favorite home-towny restaurants in the city of Boston. Everything about it makes you feel at home; the people are locals, the pictures on the wall tell the story of the community, and the same faces are always stopping in. This may be one of the better restaurants in the area that serve a variety range of delicious meals from sandwiches to pizza and from salads to chocolate cake. The service there can get a bit slow when there are several orders coming in during lunch, but besides that it is an easy place to get to. read more

You may hear a lot of hype surrounding this place from BU students but thats only because this is the nearest pizza restaurant to where a lot of them live. I say this as a BU student myself, T Anthony's isn't that great. 1) they charge 60 cents for a WATER CUP. TAP WATER THAT IS FREE EVERYWHERE ELSE. 2) pizza is nothing special, woudn't at all say it's bad but is certainly overrated 3) sub sandwiches taste like subway. I will never order from this place again... I placed an order and they never told me that they were busy. They took my order and said they will have it delivered. I called back an hour later and my food was still sitting there. They said they was real busy. 45 mins later I called and my food had just left. I told them they should had let me know in the beginning. I have kids that I'm feeding and they were hungry.. They didn't any refund or compensation.. Today I visited T's. Some 20yrs ago I freequinted it almost every morning me. Food & good portions still best in area! Although not a good thing for my waistline, I am happy that didn't change. I was dissapointed that though having a new accessable/much wider automated enterence, access button didn't function, the bathroom remains a cubby whole. This took the joy out of my memory of T. This is by far my favorite "quick" Italian restaurant in Boston. Best Pizza, Best Salads, Best Chicken Parm subs. The price is right. It is super convenient, especially to BU students. I probably have T's at least 3 days a week, whether it is popping in for a quick salad (grilled chicken salad with balsamic dressing).. or eating there with a bunch of my girlfriends for mac & cheese and baked ziti. The most frequent T's eating occurs around 2:00 am for late night pizza. They are on my speed dial, and usually come in less than an hours during their busiest call time. The food is good, BUT the delivery guy got mad my building had bad reception and he couldn't call me. I ordered through foodler and specifically said to ring the buzzer as there is bad reception in my apartment building. The guy finally rings the buzzer and complained about not being able to find parking and that I need to pick up the phone and come down to his car to get my food. I'm sorry but he is providing a service for me to deliver with a delivery fee and a tip that was given to him previous to my food even getting here. This experience completely has turned me off and I most likely will not be ordering from here again not due to the food service but due to delivery service. Too bad. read more

For almost 20 years I've hit T'Anthony's before BU Hockey Games, in the hey day there was line out the door. No more over the last 10 years they have pissed off so many customers with poor service that no one hits T'Anthony's before games anymore. It has been a few years since we've hit it and tried it again and again had the same bad service that caused us not to go for a few years. The Problem is they have no organization or system for taking orders. 6 people frantically scurry around behind the counter yelling order to each other. They do make great Steak Tips which is what we ordered. The problem is although they guy who talk our order yelled to the grill guy "2 Steak Tips", they never got put on. Someone after me ordered some too. When 25 minutes later I finally asked about them the guy said "I've got them" and he walked to the grill to put the raw meat on the grill and I said don't bother. He had one order ready (for the person who ordered them after me not that he remembered) and I got my money back and went elsewhere. When we got there other people were complaining they didn't get what they ordered either... Over the years we've failed to get our steak tips about 75% of the time. Sometimes having enough time before the game to wait for them to be made a second time. Other times people take your order, because they refuse to take your name or give you a number or write a single thing down. This was the final straw and we will never be going back. Anyone at BU knows T Anthony's very well. When you're in need of something to eat while drunk in Allston, this is your go-to place. We were craving pizza on our last night in Boston and since we were staying in Brookline, T Anthony's was the convenient choice. We ordered for pickup and it was ready 20 minutes later. We ordered a large pizza with 4 toppings and it was about $20. Not bad. Unfortunately the dough was not evenly stretched, so there were some very thin spots causing a bit of grease pooling. The bread was kind of soggy by the time we made it back to the house. We had green peppers on half the pizza and one of the pieces was easily half the pepper. Wish that'd been cut smaller but I guessed it was just an indication that everything is freshly prepared. read more

Every LL.M student at our school is required to attend the "Spring Colloquium Series" which is basically a series of very boring law-related seminars (but I digress). In order to lure us to such talks, they've added the incentive of providing free pizza (an offer no one could refuse). Upon arrival, I headed straight to the tell-tale takeout boxes with the pies, noticing they had ordered from T Anthony's. Let me say that I am a huge fan of pizza. But the 2 slices I had (1 cheese, 1 pepperoni) tasted like it sat there for an hour or two after delivery with a toughly stale crust and rubbery mozza on top. In short, it was gross and I had to wrestle the piece with another schoolmate in order to separate the slices since it has undergone pizza rigor mortis. In my experience, good pizza remains craveable even if it's cold from the fridge, and T Anthony's clearly didn't measure up. Nonetheless, I might give them another chance by visiting the actual pizzeria next time. read more

I took my daughter for breakfast as we were attending a swim meet at BU. I got the hash and eggs. Hash was well seasoned, eggs were fine, potatoes were good. My daughter got the "big breakfast", pancakes, eggs, bacon. The pancakes were good, bacon well cooked. Overall, a good breakfast at a very reasonable price for the city. read more

Ordered from here the other night. Got 2 wraps and fries. The food was not delivered on time. It came an hour and a half later and it was ice cold. We look at the food and there is only one wrap. The wrap was a combination of both of our wraps. Chicken mixed with salami.... we call back and the guy on the phone tried to tell us we ordered it as one wrap when we didn't. Went there for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 1000. Not busy at all, students are out for the summer. Great value for a decent basic breakfast. Eggs, toast, potatoes, grilled chicken with a drink was less than $10. I am visiting the area but will definitely eat there again. read more

Pizza is excellent here - thin crust and good sauce. The steak tips are also really tasty and a fantastic deal for 7 something. The service is pretty minimal - and they actually give you more menu options if you order online (foodler.com) and then go to pick up. This place is where my friends and I go all the time as a hangout spot. It is chill simple and sometimes can be havoc with all the BU kids. When I order I get the familiars: a cheeseburger sub, a large pepporini pizza(with others of course), sirloin sub, or steak tips. They are awsome! The steak tips being the best I ever had and the pizza being the bottom of the list. All in all I enjoy it, they call u for ur food(which sometimes they have to yell because 1: they think they said it when they said it really low or 2: it just gets that loud), u get it , u eat and the bus boy comes to get it so no need to clean. My problem is the people in the kitchen. I stood in line and this bald guy three times over looked me and took the others peoples order(dont know why). Also its half and half that you might get an attitude once in a while. Others are nice I admit but it just seems they need to change attitude is all. But I still like it and Ill be goign back. The food is really good...I've liked everything I've eaten but they can't receive 5 stars due to their lack of professionalism. 9/10 when I call and order and pick up the staff is rude and quick to rush me off the phone and once I show up take awhile to help me...it's like their all miserable and unfriendly. Good steak and cheese. Real chunks of steak and comes with provolone. Sometimes they go a little light on the steak. Really good fries too. I only have gotten delivery and pretty much every time it is here within 30 mins at the most. Prices are reasonable. Pizza is also good. One of my go-to places for delivery in the area. read more
