Tried Tacoson because it's in the neighborhood. Ordered a beef taco which they didn't put in the bag and a cheese quesadilla that had no cheese on it. And yes, I ate it because I had no choice. I finally got to try out TacoSon this past week and got a variety of food to take home for Betty and I. They food withstood the 30 minute drive back home which is a great sign. The (four) corn tortillas that accompanied my red chile pork were not turned to mush and were neatly wrapped within their styrofoam confines. The pork was flavorful and meaty, no hunks of fat or anything. There was also a little lettuce and tomato salad and refried beans with a smattering of melted cheese. The refried beans were delicious, and had a nice roasty taste to them. I also ordered a couple tamales for curiousity sake. The (rajas) cheese and green chile tamale was mostly masa and very little filling (very disappointing). The chicken mole tamale was on point with a balanced amount of filling (very satisfying :)) If I am ever in that part of town again and looking for some food, I would definitely head back again. read more

This place is a neighborhood staple. It's not fancy, but the food is great. The burrito panzon are huge and very filling. They stuff it with rice, beans, the usual vegetation and your choice of meats. Your choice of proteins are ground beef, shredded beef, pork, chicken, beef tongue, and if you want something off menu, ask for shrimp. The tres leches cake is wonderful and the house made hot sauces will warm your mouth with their great flavor. Having a large crowd and doing take out? Personally, my favorite meal of the day is dinner. Breakfast is pretty "eh" to me. Now I know what you're all thinking, it's pretty much a sin to not like breakfast. But the only thing that can get me excited for breakfast nowadays is a nice, hearty breakfast burrito. After a recommendation from a friend, I decided to stop by TacoSon to try one of their burritos. We came by on a weekday and it wasn't that crowded, granted it was still 10:30AM. We each ordered a burrito with chorizo. Now I would normally say breakfast burritos are pretty similar, but TacoSon knows how to make a pretty darn good breakfast burrito. They have a good balance of ingredients in each burrito and stuff it pretty high in that little piece of tortilla. Plus, the side of potatoes perfectly complimented that scrumptious burrito. Unfortunately, I still have yet to try anything else on their menu, but judging by this burrito, the rest must be pretty good as well. Watch out TacoBus, TacoSon is trailing right behind you. What can I say that everybody else has not already said. The food here is fresh. I enjoyed the zucchini vegetarian Taco the most. The tamales are just okay; the Masa is dense and the amount of filling is disappointing. There are plenty of tables and seats. Went with family on a Wednesday night. The signage wasn't lit for some reason but the open sign in the window was on. Clean, friendly, unassuming interior. Friendly cashier offered a sample of the special of the day. We ordered chips and salsa, a taco salad, a chicken special of the day, and a shredded pork torta. They have excellent freshly brewed iced tea. All of the food was excellent. The chips were a little dark for my taste but I enjoyed them nonetheless. The on table sauces were varied and I appreciate a truly hot homemade sauce. The salsa ordered with the chips was a pico de gallo style fresh salsa that had the perfect hit of acidity from the lime, with a bite of onion and fresh cilantro. My torta bread was fresh, loaded with guacamole, and had the perfect balance of meat, cheese, vegetables, and guacamole. My sister's chicken special had delicious mexican rice and refried beans. The chicken reminded me of an Indian curry dish, in a great way. My Dad raved about the taco salad. The use of marinated red onions and cabbage was a refreshing way to serve Mexican food. The refried beans were tepid at best. My husband also stopped by the bathroom. He found it to be more like a construction site bathroom rather than a bathroom for the use of restaurant clientèle. Yelp reviewers you have let me down. I had the taco combo and the tacos were small, the beans were cold and the rice was meh at best. The salsa that comes with the overcooked chips did not taste fresh. At the end of the meal I went to relieve my bladder in the men's room. Visited for lunch on a Monday afternoon, wait was very short and the staff polite. Ingredients in the food tastes fresh and delicious, they don't hold back with the portions here. The bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner. They offer no paper towels in the restrooms, you're stuck with a severely underpowered air dryer, it was frustrating to say the least. The TV located next to our table in the dining area was loudly broadcasting CNN, I was forced to listen to Mike Pence give a speech for a large portion of the meal, this really dulled my over all experience. The lady who took our order at the counter charged us for 2 large drinks, even though we specifically asked for 2 small water cups. Despite everything, I will still definitely be returning to Taco Son, you can't beat the quality/price/portions. read more

I'll be back. Often. I went today because I was starving and in search of something with yellow rice. I ordered dos tacos, one with shredded beef one with chicken, with the optional cheese and sour cream with a side of rice and beans. I don't know if it was because I was so hungry or if the food was really that good but I ate every last bit. The shredded beef was full of flavor and not dry at all. All the flavors in the taco blended together nicely. If you're not a cilantro fan make sure that you ask for little or none. They're a little heavy handed with it but I didn't mind. If I were to list any negatives (in the Yelp spirit of being open and honest, I will), I did sit through the drive through and it was crazy slow. If their defense I got there right at 12:15 pm right in the middle of lunch rush. My other possible negative is the chicken. It was a little dry and I did get a little bone surprise in mine. Tells you it's the real thing lol. I've learned through my own cooking experiences that it's easy to dry out chicken. I do it all the time at my house but I'm also not a chef. I'll definitely go back and get the shredded beef but I may skip the chicken and try another meat. All said, my belly is happy which means I'm happy. read more

Been coming here weekly for almost 3 years after Yelpers sent me here. So glad they did! The staff is great and that was before the pandemic. Even though you can tell how fresh the ingredients are from the salsa to any ingredient you like on your Tacos, Burritos etc. the price is more than fair.
