Impromptu visit while in the area. Cute aesthetic. Short line of about 6 people that moved quickly. Friendly staff. Food items are made right in front so you can see them being prepared freshly. matcha latte w strawberry foam - good and distinct matcha flavor. Opted for normal sweetness (first time being asked for sweetness level at a matcha cafe). Drink was tasty and the strawberry foam also stood out distinctly. I think, personally, I'll go for less sweet next time though.

Tadaima Inner Sunset has been very popular since their opening early 2026. During peak hours (weekends around noon), there's always a line out the door. The employees make the onigiri very quickly, and there's a front window you where you can see it. If you're getting a sando or a drink, wait might take a bit longer. Currently they're not accepting cash due to the recent break-ins. The chicken filet karage sando is pretty good. The white bread is so soft and fluffy, the chicken juicy and lightly breaded, and the shredded cabbage and house sauce provided plenty of moisture. All of their sandos are best eaten immediately so the bread doesn't get soggy. The onigiri (selection of eight, two of which are vegetarian) and spam & egg musubi are perfect for snacking on the go. The rice is seasoned well, but proportionally, there's a bit too much rice. 2-3 onigiri or musubi per person perfect amount of food. They range $3.50 to $8.50 each. I've tried their matcha latte with salted cheese cream, matcha latte with strawberry cream, and hojicha latte with salted cheese cream. All were delicious and refreshing. I recommend adding the salted cheese cream for extra flavor, sweetness, and light texture. Irving & 9th and the surrounding 2-3 block radius is always busy with bus/car/foot traffic. Best to park a little further away (if you're lucky) and walk. Golden Gate Park is half a block away, so Tadaima is perfect for lunch/snack in the park.

Solid. I got the the karage sandwich. The bread was nice and fluffy, and the chicken was really juicy. My only complaint was that the chicken was soggy and not crispy. It was hot and tasted fresh, but somehow the crust was really soggy. The mayo and cabbage had a nice taste to it. I also got a mushroom daikon rice. The daikon had too much of the preserved taste to it which drowned out the mushroom taste. This one was a miss for me. Overall, the sandwich was solid. I would still come back to try their other items. Seating was very limited.

The matcha latte was ok, it was kind of bland. The pistachio matcha latte tastes like 미숫가루 which I didn't mind. The strawberry cream matcha tasted really, really good. that's what I'd get if I came back here. I like how they don't use strawberry purée and it's strawberry cream so the strawberry matcha latte is super flavorful and you can really taste the flavor of the strawberry. The cafe is really small with limited seating but it seems like most people took their drinks to go. It's really loud inside so it's hard to chat inside. There's only one bathroom so the line for that was insanely long. I'd definitely come back here to try their sando & if you love strawberry matcha lattes, PLEASE try their strawberry cream one - you won't regret it !!

Stumbled upon this place during my most recent trip to sf! I went shortly after it opened and there was already a line forming. We tried the spam/egg musubi, shiso beef onigiri, and miso crab onigiri. All were great! My favorite was probably the beef onigiri, with the spam/egg second. My main critique of these was that the rice was a bit dry for what I prefer in onigiri. I also got a hot matcha latte which was very good. The matcha is nice and strong and I can tell how high of quality it is. The shop itself is very cute, with a small amount of indoor seating. I like that you can watch the staff preparing fresh onigiri, and love that they're wrapped to be easily eaten on the go too! Would recommend this place to all, and a great spot next to the park for a picnic!

Been wanting to check out Tadaima for a while. During our visit, there was a line but it moved fairly quickly and we were also able to grab a table. Despite the line, our drinks were ready pretty fast too. Longest wait was for the Peaches & Cream sando - maybe about 15 minutes. Based on recommendations, we ordered the Strawberry cream and Pistachio Cream matchas. The matcha flavor came through, as well as the pistachio and Strawberry - good. The shiso salmon onigiri was still warm when we picked it up. Kiddo enjoyed it. The snow crab one was also good - crab on top and in the middle with a slight citrus flavor. I've also been wanting to try to fruit sandos for a while, but the ones I've seen never seemed appealing. They had a seasonal one, Peaches & Cream, and knew we had to give it a try. Must say, this was probably my fave. Soft milk bread and the cream was not too sweet. Those peaches, on the other hand, was so sweet and juicy. Yum!

I went here with a friend on a Saturday around 2:12pm since we wanted some onigiris. It looked like there was a long line, but the line went by fast. Anyways, when we saw the menu on the door, it seemed like they don't sell many drinks that isn't some type of matcha. I'm not a huge fan of matcha drinks, so I only got the onigiris, but they do sell sandwiches here too! We got the Miso Snow Crab and Tuna Salad onigiris. Both of them were good, but I felt like the Miso Snow Crab onigiri could've had more crab or something to add more flavor to it. The Tuna Salad was good too and we thought it was cool how there's corn on this onigiri since it helped add more flavor. I'd recommend this place if you're craving some onigiris! They have a good selection to choose from and it's not too big in size either. They also serve drinks here too, but it's mostly just a variety of matcha drinks.

Tadaima definitely lives up to the hype! I remember seeing it being popular since a few years ago and I always wanted to try but never got the chance. Coincidentally there was one near Golden Gate park and we were able to make it just on time before closing. The service is very fast, you order at the cashier and they bring out the sandos very fast. I got the tonkatsu with pineapple which was the best sando I've ever had! It is in the pricier side but it was worth every bite. Everything in the sando was made fresh, so the crunch of the tonkatsu really pulls everything together. And the combination with the fresh pineapple made it juicier! As for the matcha latte, you can definitely taste the quality of the matcha they use. It was creamy and strong enough for my liking! There were some spots inside so we were able to relax while eating the sando. Also restrooms as well. Can't wait to swing by next time I'm in SF!

Another TikTok/Reels spot checked off my list! Unlike most people, I didn't come for the matcha or sando, I came for the onigiri, and the selection immediately caught my attention. I really liked the simple, cozy aesthetic and the color scheme of the shop. It's pretty small with limited seating, so I'd recommend grabbing your food to go. There was a short line when I visited and it moved fast. The kitchen was efficient, though I have to say the cashier wasn't the friendliest. I played it safe and ordered the Tuna Mayo and Miso Snow Crab for my first visit, and both were so good. They were packed with filling, and the rice was soft, fluffy, and fresh. Easily some of the best onigiri I've had in the Bay. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors, and maybe next time I'll finally see what all the hype is about with their sando.

We came as a party of 7 and, despite a line out the door, it moved quickly and we didn't have to wait long. We tried the matcha with strawberry cream, the pineapple tonkatsu sando, and the unagi spam & egg musubi. Everything tasted great--the matcha strawberry was refreshing, the tonkatsu sando was flavorful, and the unagi musubi had a nice balance of sweet and savory flavors. The main reasons I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 are the portion sizes and value. The drinks had a bit too much ice, and some items felt pricey for what you get. For example, the unagi spam & egg musubi was $8.50, but I finished it in about three bites. It was closer to onigiri size than the larger musubi size I was expecting. Overall, the food quality was good and the service was efficient, but be prepared for smaller portions and higher prices.

I would def come back for the sandwich, super flavorful and yummy! The chicken karage was fried and crispy but still juicy and so much flavors. Overall my favorite thing that we purchased. As far as the matcha it was good but I def prefer real fruit for my strawberry matcha over strawberry cream.

I would honestly give them a 3.5 and I didn't feel comfortable giving them a 3 so I increased it to a 4. I wanted to like Tadaima as much as other people like or love it, but it was something that I tried once and will probably not go back to just because I know other places with better tasting matcha and Japanese sandwiches. We pre-ordered online on a weekend and the wait was about 40-45 minutes. Luckily my husband and I found the timing perfect as we walked from the Richmond to Sunset to pass the time. When we grabbed our stuff, we managed to get a table to eat our sandwiches. Seating is very limited and it was surprisingly kind of loud for a matcha shop. The sandos were okay. I was surprised to find the strawberry and cream sandwich to be sweeter than other ones that I've had (ex. Bread n Chu). The strawberries tasted like they were soaked in a syrup or something before going into the sandwich. The chicken sandwich was good. Not bad, but nothing to be wowed about either. My matcha latte was good - that's all I can say. I overheard people outside saying this was the best matcha ever, but I've had better. I am glad to have supported them since they have been broken into twice this year. I unfortunately feel like I will go to my other go-to spots for matcha and sandwiches rather going back here.

Found this café through Instagram -- the matcha drinks and onigiri immediately caught my attention. I ordered the matcha latte, fish katsu, yuzu salmon onigiri, shiso unagi onigiri, and the tangerine cream sando. The matcha latte was delicious -- creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. The fish katsu was nicely crispy, but the fish fillet was a bit too thin. It reminded me of an elevated version of McDonald's Filet-O-Fish. Honestly, if you stacked two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches together, you'd get a similar idea. The onigiri were my favorite. The rice was well seasoned and not soggy, and the flavor combinations were unique and refreshing. Last but not least, the fruit sando. You can skip this one -- it wasn't anything special and felt overpriced. read more

Checked out the new location in Inner Sunset during soft opening. We got there right after opening and there was already a line. We waited about 45mins, but we didn't have to wait too long to get our food and drinks. The space is surprisingly super spacious. We got the matcha latte w pistachio latte and hojicha latte w salted cheese cream. The matcha and hojicha flavors were especially rich and bold. The pistachio and salted cheese cream added a really nice twist without overpowering the flavors. We tried the potato & egg salad sando and tonkatsu w pineapple sando -- I prefer the tonkatsu sando. We also got spam & egg musubi, shiso beef onigiri, and yuzu salmon onigiri. I loved how many onigiri options they have. I wanted to try the fish katsu w shiso sando, but they were already sold out. read more

I got the Jasmine Tea with Double Matcha Cream and a Shizo Salmon! It was really good! I personally like my matcha on the creamier side so getting an extra serving on matcha cream was the move :) You should definitely try this place out especially if you like the other locations in San Francisco as well read more

The jasmine tea matcha is amazing! It is not overly sweet and you can taste the matcha. There is also a wide assortment of food options that are rice based. The cashier and staff are very nice and respectful. There are places to sit inside and outside. read more

I usually make the trip all the way to the Tadaima in the Mission, so I'm excited that they finally opened a location right here in the Outer Sunset. I stopped by shortly after they opened, and honestly, the line wasn't bad at all. The space feels surprisingly spacious for the Sunset. A good amount of seating. The quality is spot on. Nothing feels watered down or rushed. Super happy to have this gem so close now. If you're in the area, definitely swing by! read more

I passed by walking from gg park and saw a line halfway down the block thinking to myself, what is this place? They have a few tables inside but mostly a takeout spot so I decided to try the chicken katsu sando and it was worth the wait: crispy katsu with soft bread with a touch a mayo that reminded me of deviled eggs with chili powder for a kick. The matcha latte with strawberry had a creamy foam at the top with a refreshing matcha on ice which was perfect for a sunny day in sf. Definitely worth the wait. Ambiance wise it's better to take your food out for a picnic in the park because its crowded getting through the door but worth the wait. A new 9th ave gem unlocked. read more

I had a really bad experience here. While the food was decent, there was nowhere to sit inside and it was way too loud. We noticed the door to the backyard was wide open with no signs restricting access, so we headed out there to eat. Out of nowhere, a guy wearing glasses on the second floor came out and started shouting, "This is not a commercial space!" He then awkwardly stared us down until we finally left. We wanted to move quickly, but we were literally in the middle of our meal. If the backyard is private, they should absolutely put up a sign. Paying over $50 for lunch just to get yelled at is unacceptable. read more

So excited this opened in the inner sunset since the location is much more convenient for those of us on the west side! We grabbed a few onigiris which were both beautiful and freshly made (still warm!) - we enjoyed them at home. i was in heaven after trying tadaima for the first time! just from the color of the matcha you could tell how amazing it was going to taste. and i was in awe of their egg salad sando. the bread was sooo fluffy and the yolks were perfect! the detail of their chicken karaage sando... there was literally flash fried green onions in there and the meat was so juicy. i liked the miso salmon onigiri better than the yuzu salmon onigiri because the shiso large leaf was too distracting for me personally. we took our food and enjoyed it at golden gate park. summer days will be great for this location. i will soooo be back! and shoutout to their workers who were fast efficient and locked in. great job!! read more

i have been here a few times already, they have multiple locations around sf and it is always pretty busy whenever i go, which shows how good it is. my favorite drink to get here is the matcha with salted cheese cream! the matcha is good, but the cream is what makes it taste amazing. the sandwiches and onigiri/musubi are also pretty good, though a bit pricey. interior is also very cute; some of the locations have more seating than others. overall, one of my fav matcha spots! read more

Beyond excited that Tadaima is opening an Inner Sunset location on Irving and 9th Ave. Great location and more convenient for me. Since they're in soft opening phase, I waited about an hour total to get my food and drinks but everything is 15% off right now so that's nice. Note: it was a long wait because there was a long line but service was quick and great. I could jus grab the onigiris I wanted and the drinks were ready in 5 minutes or so. The interior of the cafe has some seating, not much but nice. I ended up getting the shiso beef onigiri, yuzu salmon onigiri, jasmine tea with matcha cream, and black sesame cream latte totaling about $36. All was very good. The only think about the jasmine matcha though is that the jasmine overpowers the matcha so can't taste much match. Still delicious though. I've been to Tadaima a few times now and it's quickly become one of my favorite spots! Their strawberry matcha is so good--perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and super refreshing. It's honestly one of the best I've had in the city. I also highly recommend the chicken karaage sandwich. The chicken is crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, and everything comes together so well. You can tell they really put thought into their menu. The vibe is always great too--clean, cozy, and a nice place to hang out or catch up with friends. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to! read more

I went to the orchid show in the park and afterwards walked around the neighborhood. Saw a line and decided to check them out. The line went pretty fast so don't let that deter you. I got the Shiso Unagi and the Mushroom & Pickled Daikon. When you enter, you'll see the onigiri is set out on bamboo platters. You pick and choose which ones you want. Everything looks freshly made. The sando sandwiches and drinks are made to order. You pick those up at the counter when they call your name. There's a total of 6 small round tables where you can sit. As you can imagine, these get occupied fast. The Shiso Unagi I bought was still warm. Lots of customers so the turnover of food is good. I thought the onigiris contained plenty of filling and both were very tasty. I also ordered the iced matcha latte which was good too. Overall I enjoyed the food and my experience here. Next time I'll try the sando sandwiches. read more

Been here a couple of times. Parking. Terrible parking situation. It's the inner sunset, so plan on walking there or taking public transportation if you can. It's particularly bad in the weekends when you can't even find a parking spot in the park. I live within walking distance, so we generally walk over. Ambiance. They have very limited seating. We generally take it to go. The restaurant is clean and modern. Food. Chicken sandwich. 5/5. This is a great sandwich and they make it order. Tonkotsu sandwich 2/5. The lion was too thick to chew through. There was plenty of meat, but it was tough. I think it would be better if they split the meat into two pieces in the same sandwich, I'm not sure about the pineapple either. Probably would not order this again Snow crab onigiri. 5/5. This was delicious. It's our go to for this place. In fact, my son only wants these, nothing else Unigi onigiri. 4/5. Also delicious. It had a quail egg on top which was good, but made it very rich Spam musubi. 4.5/5. Not the best that I have had, but I really enjoyed it and would order it again Iced americano. 5/5. I know this place is known for their matcha drinks, but I'm not a fan of matcha, so I ordered on of these. Very good. Didn't mind the wait for the yummiest food ever! I picked up chicken karage and dessert for the family. Super fresh! And can't say enough for the onigiri!! Made fresh there and not overly expensive! Initial sip was good, but after a few sips we noticed it's a bit thick. Definitely not the kind of drink to get when you're quenching of thirst. The strawberry puree was good but quality of matcha was the biggest con. Even before trying the drink, I could tell the matcha had a very DULL color (the one you get when either the matcha expires or when it's been too exposed to oxygen causing quality to lower exponentially). This was most disappointing because this gave the very bitter metallic aftertaste with every sip. For a shop that specializes in matcha, I hope they take quality into account more when making their drinks. The cafe doesn't have much comfortable seating, a few small tables outside and a bench indoor.

There are always people and dogs pouring out. It's truly a third space. Terrible service. I ordered a strawberry sandwich and two rice onigiri with salmon, which totaled around $29, yet there were no signs indicating it was for online pickup. When they finally assisted me, they simply shoved the food at me without a bag, despite it being a to-go order. I then requested a bag, and they hesitated before stating it would cost $1.00. For the price I paid for the online order, I expected a bag, just like any other establishment. Especially for a DoorDash order, it should come with a bag and a neatly folded receipt attached. Moreover, the sandwich didn't look as appealing as it tasted. You would think the bread would be fluffy, but it was actually medium tough. Either they had it out for a few days, or that's just how it is. The cream and presentation appeared good from the top and bottom, but as you work your way down the sandwich, it's disappointing. The strawberry is only on top, with a thin layer of cream and a scant layer of strawberry. I am dissatisfied with the service, the quality of food, and the inconsistency. Finding parking is also a challenge; it's simply not worth it. Let's not even discuss the soggy rice that had a smoky taste, with filling only on top. I've been wanting to check out Tadaima for quite some time, and I'm happy to report that it lived up to the hype. We tried the Pistachio Cream Matcha Latte and the Strawberry Cream Latte, and both were excellent. The cream topping on each drink was absolutely chef's kiss. The pistachio cream stood out in particular--the subtle saltiness and nutty flavor complemented the earthy matcha beautifully, creating a unique and well-balanced flavor profile. The strawberry cream was equally delightful: rich and velvety without being overly sweet, with a slight tartness that I personally enjoyed. The freeze-dried strawberry topping added a pleasant textural contrast as well. We also ordered the highly popular Tonkatsu Pinnacle Sando. The pork cutlet was freshly fried and wonderfully crispy, making for a satisfying bite. Unfortunately, I did notice a slight pork odor that came through and distracted from an otherwise enjoyable sandwich. Overall, the drinks were the clear highlight of the visit, and I can definitely see why Tadaima has developed such a loyal following. I'll happily return to explore more of their menu. read more

I love that there is a Tadaima close to our house in the inner sunset! It's exactly what our neighborhood needs - a touch of authentic Asian Japanese Matcha, handcrafted onigiri, Japanese Sando with various of egg, fish katsu, shrimp tempura, tonkatsu with the pineapple and chicken filet karage. I'm appreciative that I can choose no sugar to my Matcha whenever I am on the keto diet and my husband is able to get oat milk for his lactose intolerant needs. We are beyond excited that our friends opened their third location and they work so hard to provide great customer service to the inner Sunset. Can't wait to take the kids whenever we have picnics in Golden Gate Park for the Oishii treats! Congratulations Tadaima- Inner sunset! read more

Had a great experience here! The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The menu had a nice variety, so there was something for everyone, and everything we ordered came out perfectly prepared. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome without being overbearing. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting--great for either a casual meal or a special night out. I've lived in San Francisco for many years and heard so many recommendations for this matcha shop, so I had to try it, and it didn't disappoint! My friends and I ordered a strawberry cream matcha latte and a matcha cream jasmine tea. We ordered online, so we didn't get to interact with the staff, but the drinks were made quickly. Parking in the Sunset District is always difficult, so you might have to walk a bit. Overall, this shop is great. If you have the chance to go near Golden Gate Park, you absolutely must try it! read more

I stopped by Tadaima after hearing about their new Inner Sunset location and it definitely lived up to the hype. The space is super cute and cozy and makes it a great spot to grab a drink or a light bite. I tried their regular matcha with oatmilk as well as a tuna onigiri, and both were delicious. The customer service was great as well and the line moved quickly! Definite check out Tadaima next time you're in the Inner Sunset! read more

Tadaima soft opening seems to be going well! Full menu is available, plenty of staff, sitting area is open, and a long line of folks waiting outside. Order of traffic: pick out your onigiris on the way to the order counter. Then order your sandwiches and drinks from the cashier, and checkout.
