We were lucky to arrive before the dinner rush and were seated right away. My friend and I shared the Kaya pandan coconut toast, and we were surprised by how massive it was! While the pandan flavor wasn't as strong as I had hoped, the thick toast was paired well with the vanilla ice cream. We also shared the Ferrero crepe. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, but my friend, who has a serious sweet tooth, absolutely loved it. The crepe was loaded with Ferrero chocolates, bananas, and strawberries, and we chose Thai tea and coconut ice cream. Both ice creams were delicious and goes well together in one bite! Since it was a chilly evening, I also ordered a ginger tea, which was the perfect drink for the weather. Hopefully next time we'll have room for one of their bingsoo creations and maybe try some of their savory Thai dishes.
First time trying out this Naya Dessert location in the city, I've been to a couple of the other locations in Hayes valley and others. However we were looking for late night eats and this location was such a pleasant surprise! Food 5/5: we ordered the grilled pork over rice, pad see ew noodles, and the golden toast. Despite being closed to midnight, the restaurant prepared everything per order hot and fresh. The dishes were well seasoned and flavorful, grilled pork was so tender and melts in your mouth. The golden toast milk bread was perfectly toasted on all sides and soaked in sweet honey, goes so well with the fruit and ice cream. Ambiance 5/5: [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's got a very cute interior with colorful benches and nicely decorated, good vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service 3/5: the servers got our order wrong twice, probably got confused because multiple servers came by to take our order. Then they forgot our dessert order at the end but were able to correct quickly once we reminded them. Overall a great late night eats spot, would def come back!
Naya is the BEST after dinner dessert!! The Mango Tango and the Kaya Toasted are for sure my go to. The cold bingsu is so milky pairs extremely well with the warm sticky rice. The small pieces of toasted bread inside the bread cube drenched in the pandan Kaya sauce and melted ice cream is a perfect bite.
Service was quick and easy. The wait-times were long but worth it. The 2 things i got this time were double strawberry bingsu and green tea toasted. The strawberry syrup was not enough so i had to order extra but it was very tasty and the strawberries were fresh and not tart. Green tea toasted was very tasty and had a abundance of cream. The ice cream was smooth and not heavy. It was my favorite combo with toast. Last thing is their mango is a bit risky because I got it last time and the mangos were not ripe enough so it was a bit dry.
The place was busy on a Sunday night but the turnover was quick so we were seated almost immediately. We ordered 2 desserts. The black Thai tea crepe consisted of a black crepe filled with ice cream. It came with a side of the Thai tea-flavored condensed milk and some Oreo crumbs. I loved biting into the chewy crepe exterior. The Oreo added some crunch. It was a nice mix! The egg banana roti was my favorite of the two. The roti was served hot. The fried egg inside tasted like breakfast. Then the ice cream on the side reminded me that I was eating a late night dessert. My senses were confused but in a good way. The rest of the menu looked delicious. I would definitely come back to try their savory items for a proper meal.
Naya desserts is one of our go-to dessert spot! Not only is everything delicious but they are also open late night. Because of their late hours, it can get busy on the weekends and long wait. In my opinion, their best items are the toasts and rotis. My personal favorite is the banana roti but if you are looking for something that reminds you of Thailand, definitely get the mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream. Their croffles are solid options too. While people rave about the bingsu, I personally feel you can skip on that because it's not worth your money since they're skimpy on the fruit toppings. As for service, it can be inconsistent depending on the night and staff. We had experiences ranging from being rushed on packed nights to be able to sit and chat as long as we liked. Overall still a must visit for late night cravings!
Another Richmond District gem, charming, cute, and fun for your favorite sweet tooth. A spot you can count on to satisfy late night cravings. For comfort i'll order any of the toasted desserts which is a sweet milk bread bowl filled with everything wonderful (ice cream). But The bingsu with mango sticky rice is such a treat for a warm day. The space is a bit small so there is a wait sometimes but the food comes out quick. The service is always fast, the food is always pretty. For savory I like their pork and tom yum noodles. Parking is okay but worth it!
My friend raved about how this place has the most authentic bingsu compared to Korea itself so we had to try. While it advertises itself as a dessert cafe it also has a full savory menu so we got two savory appetizers to cushion our blood sugar haha - The pork shoulder and sticky rice was soooo yummy and the perfect little portion (note it's not a full meal even for someone with a light appetite) - The fish ball explosion had a fun crunchy texture but didn't wow me For dessert we ordered - the winter melon bingsu. The "ice" part of the bingsu was actually this tasty cream in flakes, not ice. If I knew the bingsu tasted like this I would have gotten some earlier bc I didn't want ice. The winter melon flavor was delicous as well - the Thai tea mochi bomb: Thai tea ice cream with cream fluff wrapped in a thin sheet of mochi and topped with more Thai tea sauce and Oreos. The ice cream tasted exactly like Thai tea and was delicious but the black food coloring of the mochi wrap was a bit off putting Logistics: - limited indoor seating only (sit down) - limited street parking nearby
my advice-- just get the mango bingsu/ shaved ice. that is all. lolol jkjk,,, well,,, ok, whats not great? -THEY RUSH YOU LITERALLY from the moment you're sat to the moment you finish your last bite to get you out the door. i feel like i can't take my time to enjoy the table and dessert that i waited and paid for, nor feel like i can be present without feeling a bit of anxiety/taking up too much time and space. tldr: service is pushy, not that friendly, and is pretty aggro. i get it cus u busy, but it still hurts ): -it can be a long wait because it is pretty small inside with such limited tables. i've had wait times be from 2 minutes to like 20-30 minutes because it was so busy and packed. it is a gamble but when im frfr craving that bingsu? its worth it. -the rest of the fruit stuff on the menu. as a strawberry superfan, the strawberry bingsu is not good because they use jam as their puree, thus making the dessert that its suppose to enhance, NOT, but making it (or any strawberry based dessert in this establishment) taste so artificially sweet, fake, and mediocre. and my personal take with desserts is that the breads/ toasts are way too filling, when im in the mood for a refreshing dessert. hence i don't order them as much or when i did, i did not find them personally satisfying or worth my money. well, whats great? -the mango bingsu. LOL i only recommend this as ur favorite fruit-dessert-based guy. the 'shaved ice' is NOT icy-like/ crunchy texture at all. the texture/ mouth-feel more so like a condensed milk-drenched-soft slush, which is EXACTLY what i personally want from the bingsu/shaved ice. the mango puree is not as artificial and the mango fruit is great. i do not care for the sticky rice but is fine regardless. -wait time from ordering to getting the items is reasonable. i recall things coming out fast, as they want people in and out, so i appreciate that. the double edge sword also is them checking up on us so frequently that i can immediately pay and get the heck out too. -OFC THEYRE STAY OPEN LATE. DUH. my only saving grace for dessert places since sf just is ded at night, i appreciate the late-night dessert vibes. im intrigued to come back another time to try their FOOD FOOD/savories but for now, they're always just a dessert place for me. PS. if they can bring back the jar of condensed milk that was on each table? i'd so grateful for and appreciate them. (though i know it won't happen cus money, but a girl can dream :')) )
First time at this Naya location on Geary! We went around 9pm on a Saturday and it was packed. We had to join the waitlist and it took about 25 minutes to be seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is a little cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the mango sticky rice and the pandan kaya toast. The mango stick rice was okay but the kaya toast was amazing as always. It's one of their most popular dishes. Would come back again!

(maybe a bit pricey for what I'm receiving, serving size is small with the sticky rice...) I love that they close at 12am if I'm ever craving a late night sweet treat!
Omg bestieeee, Naya Dessert Café is literally that spot Like, if you're from San Jose and you haven't pulled up yet, what are you even doing?? The vibe is super cute -- lights, kpop music, and desserts that are straight-up Instagram material. I got the mango bingsu and a brown sugar milk tea, and omg it was giving main character energy. The bingsu was hella soft and refreshing, and the drink was sweet but not too sweet (they get the ratio just right, fr). The workers were super nice too -- they even helped me pick the perfect dessert for my vibe that day Like, it's the kind of place you go with your girls after dinner, post up for cute pics, and just talk about life.
Truly our favorite dessert place. Brought my friends and definitely didn't disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dessert is perfect, it came out timely, and it wasn't too busy tonight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend 3 desserts for 5 people, it was the perfect amount. Love everything about Naya!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This dessert spot was absolutely adorable and cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a drink, mango sticky rice, and the fried chicken crepe, and everything was a 10/10! Service was 10/10 as well!! The crepes and drink were made fresh to order, and you could truly taste the freshness in every bite. NaYa Dessert serves Thai style desserts and have multiple locations across the Bay Area. Today I visited the location in Richmond District though I've also been to the Hayes Valley location in the past. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is relatively small and intimate with about 4-5 tables and often a line.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you've been to Bangkok, you know Bing Su is a popular Thai dessert. It is a shaved ice with various sauces and toppings. We typically like to order the Mango Tango which consists of a shaved ice with fresh mango on the side along with a side of warm stick rice. The dessert isn't super sweet which we prefer. The ice is finely shaved and melts in your month right away. Great dessert on a hot day. They also offer other varieties including Toasts, Cake, Crepes, Croffles and Roti. I could be wrong but I think the Roti is only available at this Richmond location. We typically order the Cha-Thai Roti which is fried roti with Thai tea sauce and a serving of Thai ice cream. The Roti has a nice chew to it which goes well texturally with the ice cream. read more

Came on. Saturdays night around 8:30PM and the place was almost packed! Good thing there was still 2 empty tables so we didn't have to wait. The Banana Nutella Roll was delicious! The outer layer is crispy and warm and the inside was bananas filled with flavor! The Japanese Soft Crepe Cake was good as well but I think it was a little plain. We should have ordered something else but it was still good! The crepe is delicious! I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu! The prices are super reasonable as well! read more

Prices were a bit steep but there were some cool crepes that I'd like to go back and try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tables are a bit close to one another so you'll definitely need your inside voice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but all in all a good experience. read more

I'm not much into dessert but it's always nice to indulge it once it a while. If you're not much into desserts like me, don't even try exploring the menu. One dessert is enough, unless you're in a large group! The staff was really friendly, and the food came out quickly and beautifully presented. It can get crowded in the evening, but the wait isn't too long. read more

Hey munchkins how's it going? One of my closest friends is moving away and we're going to NaYa as a send off. We're a bit full from dinner so we wind up splitting on dessert. We get the Thai tea lava cake and it tastes like Thai tea. It has a really great texture that perfectly melts in your mouth and the chocolate is rich without being overwhelming. One of my friends said "I always forget how much Naya slaps. I come back here and remember how good it is every time" Some other friends split the chocolate toasted. He said it was pretty good. When he first thought about ordering it he was in the mood for some sugar stuff around Hayes valley and he decided to come in here and eat his chocolate toasted. Today was a really sunny day so he was really hungry and when he went to the sushi place he ate a lot of food but the key point is he saved room for Naya. The chocolate toasted consists of toast that's chocolate and it tasted pretty good. One of our other friends with the constitution of a champ gets a salted egg custard and he can't articulate why because English is his second language but the wide smile he cracked transcends normal verbiage. The waiters were attentive and we got our food quite quickly. When looking where to go next I highly recommend you dessert Naya rather than desert it. read more
If you're a big fan of salted egg, definitely try their salted egg toast!! I usually don't particularly like dessert toast, but they did it so well. Every bite was perfectly crispy and well toasted, and the salted egg liquid complemented everything so well. It was the perfect amount of sweet (not very sweet since I don't like super sweet things). Want to try all their salted egg flavored desserts like the bingsu!! Would definitely come back again. Came here for dessert with a couple of friends and this place did not disappoint! We shared the Thai tea chocolate lava cake and the green tea roti. The lava cake was decadent and rich and the Thai tea flavor really came through in the ice cream. The roti was crispy and paired well with the green tea ice cream, although I wish the green tea flavor was stronger in the ice cream. The place was packed on a Wednesday night but we only waited about 5 minutes for a table to open up. They really make great use of the limited space to maximize seating. Our server wasn't the most attentive but I like that because it gives you more time to talk with who you came with. Plus the place was very busy. read more
Found this place when looking for a late-night dessert place. This place is on Geary between 17th and 18th. Parking is in the street so if it looks crowded park in the first spot you see. The place is cute. It is not too big and would be tight for a large group however the restaurant can accommodate a large party by moving tables around. The theme here is Thai street food so aside from dessert, you can also have a savory snack or meal. We arrived around 8:45 pm and the place was busy. We found seating right away and sat at a wood table with wood benches. I asked the couple next to me what they were having because it looked delicious, and we ordered the same! We ordered the salted caramel toast and the banana egg crepe (roti). Yes, I agree when I saw that it had egg... I thought "okay, what culinary adventure am I going on...?" Well... I was surprised. The roti was delicious even with the egg. The toasted salted caramel toast was equally delicious. I definitely recommend this place... But if you go beware seating is limited and you could wait a while. I loved that the place is open until 12 am so it's a great afters treat! Enjoy! read more

Chocolate Thai Lava Cake I'm not a big fan of Thai tea, but the chocolate lava cake was perfectly decadent and rich. The Thai tea ice cream was fragrant and creamy with the perfect amount of flavor. Fried Vanilla Ball I enjoyed the crispy, crunchy deep fried shell with delicious vanilla ice cream and strawberries with whipped cream! It was packed for a Saturday night so make sure you come early to find seating. It's a small restaurant and popular for groups! read more

SOLID go-to late night dessert spot in the richmond district! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can get crowded as there are only ~8 tables but I've never felt rushed and service is always super friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've tried many items on their menu but my favorites are the double strawberry bingsu, durian sticky rice bingsu, and mango tango bingsu, as well as the brick toasts "toasted" and mango sticky rice. The presentation of each dessert is also very aesthetic and nicely plated. I really appreciate the consistency each time I come, as well as between locations. I will definitely be back and I would highly recommend for cute, aesthetic, asian inspired desserts! read more

The dessert here was so good! My friend kept talking about this dessert shop, so we tried the closest NaYa cafe to us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was a cute, smaller shop in Richmond.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the Naya Toasted and the Mango Stick Rice Crepes. The Kaya Toasted was a hollow, toasted bread with smaller bits of toasted and sweetened bread inside. The ice cream and pandan sauce complemented the bread well! Since neither or us were drinking, we chose NaYa for dessert. It was pretty busy when we got here, but they quickly cleaned a two top for us. Not much of a wait at all. I'm a sucker for limited edition anything. I saw they only serve 10 croffles a day, so of course, I had to get one! I'm not much for red bean or sweet and savory, so that took out the matcha red bean and salted egg custard. I like a good banana cream pie, so passed on the strawberry and cream and went for the one above. Luckily it wasn't too sweet. The waffle was a good base. Held up to all the toppings. Tho I didn't get much of the flaky croissant texture. The crepe cake was fine. Dense, but still light if that makes sense. It was my first time visiting this spot, and I really enjoyed my experience! I visited around 8pm on a weeknight, and just barely snagged a seat before it got more busy. I ordered the mango sticky rice crepe, which came with sliced mango, a side of mango syrup, and a crepe that wrapped ice cream and sticky rice. I thoroughly enjoyed this and it satisfied a craving I've had for a while. The portion was generous (enough to split for 2 people) and it wasn't too sweet or heavy. The service was fast and friendly! It took less than 5 mins for my order to come out. Not sure why this place isn't rated higher, but I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great mango sticky rice dessert. read more

When we came on a Friday evening around 8 pm, we were seated right away. Ordered the Thai tea toasted and mango with sticky rice crepe. The mango crepe was good but the Thai tea toasted was lacking and had a very artificial or funny flavor. During our may be 35 minute total stay there, there were always at least one or two empty tables but the waitress asked us multiple times while we were browsing the menu if we were ready to order within the first couple minutes we sat down. Before we were even half-way done, a check was put on the table. Came with a friend on a weeknight. It was pretty crowded but we were able to get seated pretty quickly. We got the Golden Toasted Toast and the Thai Tea Chocolate Lava Cake. We preferred the Thai Tea Chocolate Lava Cake since it was a bit more novel than the Golden Toasted Toast, but both desserts were a little too sweet for our liking and didn't stand out in terms of flavor. The desserts came out quite quickly and they were lukewarm at best (not sure if that was the intention). The ice cream that came with both desserts cut through some of the sweetness, which was nice. Overall, we didn't really enjoy the desserts and probably wouldn't return for these items. Note that the minimum to use a credit card is $20, so bring cash if necessary! read more

This place has a cute concept and so many options! Unfortunately the quality of the desserts didn't meet our expectations. The lava cake was cold and it seemed like it was made earlier that day. The toast did not look appetizing...the pandan custard was a weird consistency. It was yummy, but the toast could've been more toasted. We waited a while for our food. And everything is way overpriced...probably won't be coming back unfortunately! read more
The mango sticky rice here is some of the best I've had! I definitely liked it much better than the mango sticky rice crepe; in fact, I found myself picking around the crepe to eat the delicious filling! I've come here in the past and gotten the golden toast which underwhelmed me but I'm so glad I came back! It is very cute inside, a super casual walk in place which is open late (midnight I believe) and usually pretty busy. Most places in outer Richmond close pretty early so I love that this place is open late for a sweet treat. I'll be back! read more
