Solid Taiwanese fan tuan 飯糰, with a good amount of stuffing! Ordered 3 to try - original pork floss, and 2 braised pork (one regular white sticky rice, and one purple sticky rice). The braised pork is using "3-layer" pork so expect bits of fat, but I think that's what keeps it juicy. The white sticky rice could've been made less dense to me but overall fine. I really liked that the Chinese fried doughnut youtiao 油條 inside was super crispy. I'm always looking for Taiwanese fan tuan (besides Chinese jian bing), and finally was in the area, so pre-ordered online via redwoodcityeats.com Smooth ordering process, and counter service during pickup was super friendly. I saw they have a kiosk there as well in case you want to make your order there, or order additional food. As others mentioned, parking can be tricky. I was there on a Friday around 1pm, and planned to double-park, but when I arrived there was a large semi-truck, plus other cars already double-parked in front, lol. A ghost kitchen with excellent fantuan and soy milk I just returned from Taipei yesterday. Discovered this place and said "it's never too soon for more fantuan". And this was excellent! Super delicious all around. The rice was maybe a bit mushy-I'd prefer a little more bite to it. But overall still excellent and five star. I got the purple rice burrito and black soy milk. It was exactly as you would expect it to be, done perfectly. Service was quick. No ambiance, just window pickup in a really industrial portion of Redwood City. I'm sad that I'm not closer to Redwood City because I am definitely craving it already. The soy milk wasn't my favorite - not too sweet.... So if you like unsweetened soy milk, that may be more to your liking. They're located in a ghost kitchen and the street itself doesn't seem the safest, but the employee was really nice! This is a to-go or deliver place, so there's nowhere to sit. Ordering ahead of time is more convenient since parking could be challenging. Food was decent, we tried the Purple Sticky Rice Roll with Swordfish Floss and Original Stick Rice Roll with Pork Floss. We combo them with black bean soy milk and regular soy milk. I wish there was more discount when you order a combo, but you only get 15-20 cents off when you make it a combo. Overall, food and soy milk were pretty good. I saw this place on yelp and I had to give it a try! One morning I drove from Fremont here to try their rice burritos. I ordered when I got in the car and when I got to the store for pick up, it was not ready yet. I think i waited an extra 15 mins after arriving in redwood city, so if you want to come here definitely order ahead of time! I ordered 2 original sticky rice rolls with floss and one sticky rice roll with braised pork along with soy milk and the black bean soy milk. The flavor of the rice rolls were just ok and it was falling apart. It was not well wrapped. A good rice roll should be tight with little to no space inside. The rice was way too sticky and way too wet (?). If the rolls are better wrapped and the rice texture improves this would be pretty decent. The soy milk stood out the most though. Originally planned to order ahead for pickup right at 9:00am (when they open), but the earliest option available was 9:15-9:30am, so we opted to order upon opening instead. As others have cited, parking is a bit of a struggle, so have a copilot ready to hop in and out of the car to grab your order or be prepared to park a bit further away and walk over. We ended up ordering the original sticky rice roll with pork floss and the sticky rice roll with braised pork and splitting those as the rolls come pre-cut into halves. Both were solid. While they weren't huge, they were definitely filling. The marinated eggs in each were a nice touch. The rice is a little bit mushier, but as long as you leave it in the saran wrap, it's not too messy to eat. I was quoted a half hour wait, but the order was not quite ready when i arrived. I tried their purple rice roll with braised pork, as well as the black bean soymilk. For the price, the portions of the rice roll was disappointing, not very much filling, and the you tiao (fried dough) was very soggy. For the long wait, the rice roll wasn't even that warm. The black bean soymilk had a strangely strong smoky aftertaste, which was definitely not what I was expecting. It didn't taste like regular black beans at all, and the soy flavor was overwhelmed by the aftertaste. Seriously, don't get the black bean soymilk. read more

Fast service (just a window counter for pickups). There is no place to stop or park so everyone parallel parks on a relatively busy street. The swordfish floss burrito with white rice at this location had really mushy rice. This wasn't the case for the South Bay location that I went to several months back. The proportions were good. The doughnut inside wasn't crispy but I was okay with that, the flavors were good. I can't get over the overcooked mushy rice though, I mean I'm practically holding porridge. read more

Wow the rice rolls here are SOOO good. 1. I had the Purple Sticky Rice Roll with Swordfish Floss and Original Sticky Rice Roll with Pork Floss. Amazing. Warn, fresh, crunchy Chinese donut (but you cant really taste the dough of the donut). Each roll was wrapped in plastic wrap and the purple rice was much easier to eat because the white rice roll stuck to the plastic cling wrap a little more compared to the purple. I honestly couldnt tell it was fish floss but my parents could. 2. The Spicy Garlic Pork Ears was also soo good. It was sliced SOO thinly. Delicious. I think this was the most thinly sliced pork ear I've ever had. yum! I would rate this 4.5 stars. We tried the Red Vinasse Pork Bento box and was unimpressed and parking SUCKS. Nobody really follows the rules with parking and people are making up parking spots everywhere. I would try the chicken bento or stick with the rice rolls next time. Rice roll tasted pretty good, loved the egg inside, but the rice fell apart very easily as we were eating it. Sweetened soy milk was good!
