Regular sticky rice roll, yuzu wood eared mushrooms, spicy garlic pig ears, and regular soymilk
    Claire H.

Was really excited to try out Taiwanese Eats on my drive up. I was able to order ahead and got the regular sticky rice roll, soymilk, braised pork rice bowl, and a side of the spicy garlic pig ears and yuzu wood eared mushrooms (about $45 before tip). Parking was pretty awful since the pick up spot is located in a random neighborhood amongst some industrial sites. I had to double park and hope that picking up my food would be quick. About 4 other people arrived the same time I did, all for UberEats or DoorDash. I received a text as I was stepping out of the car that my order was ready, but had to wait a few minutes for someone to come to the window as there was no way to flag anyone down. She had to go back to the kitchen area to grab my food as none of the orders she had initially come out with were mine. The sticky rice roll was truly very sticky- I had to peel off some of the excess rice but the filling inside was good and very flavorful. The soymilk was good too, not too sweet and paired well with the rice roll like a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. The braised pork rice was pretty standard, and out of the 2 side dishes, the spicy garlic pig ears was definitely way better compared to the wood eared mushrooms. I liked that they sliced the pork ears really thin but they could've cut the pieces up a little smaller. The mushrooms were bland, wouldn't order again. Overall, the food was good but not outstanding. The difficulty in location and parking makes it a big deterrent on returning in the future.

Taiwanese Eats is a pickup-only spot operating out of a shared commercial kitchen, so parking can be limited. Ordering ahead is definitely the way to go for quick and easy service. I ordered the Purple Sticky Rice Roll with Braised Pork, and it was delicious. The Chinese donut inside added a great crunch and texture, while the egg was soft, filling, and complemented everything well. The braised pork was seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. I also tried the Black Bean Soy Milk, which was a nice treat. It had a unique flavor and wasn't overly sweet, making it a refreshing addition to the meal. Overall, everything was tasty and well prepared. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in the area!

I tried the purple sticky rice fantuan. It had a good flavor, but I don't think it was really my thing, and I probably wouldn't order it again. The spicy popcorn chicken, however, was really delicious--crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. I'll definitely be back to explore more items on the menu.

2/5 star on the beef stew purple rice burrito. The beef was either really tough or I was biting down on a piece of fat. 3/5 on the fried chicken bento box. It would probably taste better if it was not in a to-go container. The trapped heat made the chicken soggy. It could also use a tad more seasonings.

The online ordering is easy and straightforward. The parking situation like most people have addressed, is limited. The pickup system that they have is redundant. Apparently they don't have a dedicated person working at the window. So when you arrive, you have to scan the QR code on the right, find the order # on your original receipt that was emailed to you, fill out an online form and then ring one of the applicable wireless doorbells on the left to get someone to come to the pickup window. We went there when they first opened, and they already ran out of some ingredients that they use to make the rice burrito. So instead of letting us know, they just crossed out the ingredients on the paper wrapper, as if it didn't come with those ingredients. The size and flavor of the burrito was a little small and less flavor too.

An absolute hidden gem! So glad we stopped by here. I've been wanting to try Fan Tuan for a long while now and had no clue where to get my hands on one. I really was worried when we showed up and found out that it was a ghost kitchen, but wow, their food is an absolute hit. We ordered the Purple Rice Braised Pork and Purple Rice Pork Floss with a side order of spicy pig ears. I wasn't sure what to expect but it's everything you didn't know you needed out of a burrito. So many textures that somehow magically come together to make something so delicious. Also, this place has great value, I appreciate the generous serving size. The fried dough stays crispy for white awhile so we didn't have any issues with that getting soggy. They put just the right amount of mustard greens in each fan tuan. Also the rice was perfectly portioned. It's easy to go heavy handed with rice in general, they did a great job at keeping a nice thin layer of rice around the fillings. The spicy pig ears were shaved so thinly, the texture was still nice and bouncy but easy to chewy through. Parking can be a little bit scarce when you're here. You might have to park a few blocks away and walk over. This ghost kitchen pickup is fully outdoors as well. So definitely order ahead and stop by once your food is ready.

This place is a ghost kitchen but man I hope it gets the love it deserves because the food here is super comforting and delicious! I got a Red Vinasse Pork Bento- LOADED! I mean absolutely loaded with various different sides and I mean cabbage, green beans, tea egg, and a heaping amount of rice. The pork was seasoned a fried immaculately, the egg was marinated super well, and there was even even a subtle, yet light, and delicious sauce that coated the rice. I still keep thinking about it. Purple Sticky rice with braised pork fan tuan - This is a complete meal in itself. Rice, Chinese doughnut that is still crispy, some pickled greens and loaded with the braised pork. The braised pork has fatty parts that just completely melt in your mouth with each bite. There's even an entire egg in there! What an absolute unit.

Ghost kitchen where you can pick up a quick bite for lunch. Purple sticky rice pork floss fan tuan was full of flavor and had so much filling! Very nice rice to meat ratio. All you need to do is ring their specific doorbell to pick up your order.

Taiwanese girl approved! Always looking for an outstanding fantuan and this place delivers. Since I'm in the Easy Bay, I can't stop by as often as I'd like, but if you're lucky enough to be on the peninsula, then please order yourself one of their bentos and these well-packed, beautifully assembled rice "burritos."

Take out only, order ahead - quite literally a "hole" in the wall kinda restaurant. Taiwanese who misses home street food living on the peninsula may find themselves happily fed. All items sufficiently authentic.

Was pleasantly surprised by the portion of the sticky rice burrito! It came in two big halves and was stuffed with rice, pork, boiled egg, fried dough stick/youtiao, and many more toppings. The rice was also seasoned so it was tasty to eat. I think it could last you two meals. A solid lunch option!

We arrived at about 1:00-1:30 and the inside main dining area was already closed to patrons as staff prepared for the evening service. The host's tone did not encourage potential customers to dine there during the transition to dinner prep. Not a great first impression that gave off a late arrival so you'll get what's leftover vibe which was exacerbated by being forgotten for what seemed to be a half hour before our waitperson came to take our order. We chose to sit in the front sidewalk patio which was cold and windy not an alternate choice we will need to make again. We ended up sitting across from two loud, self-centered, immature, foul-mouthed college grad girls bragging about studying for their masters attempting to appear cultured were distracting everyone on that patio. After we placed our order, we finished up the app and hubbs was furious they forgot about his glass of pinot which arrived without an apology for the delay preceding our plate arrivals. I had the ny strip steak on the breakfast menu which came out perfectly med-well & added cilantro rice which was good although a little sticky not fluffy. Hubbs had the salmon which looked amazing and he enjoyed the mango sauce--the dish just didn't fill him up. Good thing we ordered fresh chips, salsa& guac.--which was very well prepared; the freshest guac I've ever had. It had fresh chopped tomatoes & green chiles all perfectly combined. Our wait person/food server made up for the less than stellar first impression of the host. And the food was flavorful. The ambiance was ruined by the diners across from us and the forgetfulness of taking our orders timely and serving the wine after the appetizer couldn't bring us back from what started out as negative experience. There are many restaurants up & down the bay that we aren't bothered. This wasn't the best reception nor dining experience and we are moving on. We hope it's a lesson and possibly could've just been a bad day for the crew, and unfortunately there is so much competition out there. We highly recommend the food for its freshness and flavor; recommend the salmon dish for its flavor and balance but not for its portion size. And wish this place nothing but the best and to improve where they dropped the ball.
