Maybe it was an off day, but our food was very disappointing. We ordered 2 carnitas tortas, a scrambled egg breakfast plate, and 3 breakfast tacos. The scrambled egg plate was not put in the bag, when I checked the digital receipt at home it was labeled "out of stock" but the restaurant didn't offer this information when I was picking up. I don't know if the tortas were an entirely different kind of sandwich but I can tell you there was zero meat, it was all fat(?) on both tortas. The fries that came with them were cold and looked like they were from yesterday. The bread and avocado was still good and at least we got three egg and potato tacos.

I ordered my daughter's birthday dinner online, so we could try a new place. I picked up the bag of food, which was knotted and tied very tightly. I was told they had no queso. I said that's fine, I need my money back. I was given exactly $5.95 in cash. Taxes are a real thing, but I didn't complain. I left and opened the bag at home. Big mistake. As you can see in the picture, a variety of tacos were ordered. Please see the next picture where all of the tacos looked the exact same. I have no idea what this is. I immediately took the tacos back to the restaurant and they just happened to have locked their doors by 7:30pm. No one answered the phone or the door. The hours posted show 10pm closing and the Open sign was still flashing. This is extremely frustrating and ruined our dinner plans. The customer's phone number is visible on the order, and all they had to do was reach out if there was an issue. I did request a refund through Zing, so we will see what happens. 0/10 experience.

When I think about the place, my first thought is "I'd go back". I'm a fan of their green sauce. It's like Frank's; I put that sh*t on everything. It's hot but still tastes like green sauce. The taco meat is flavorful and they aren't cheap on the meat. All the tacos were loaded and I couldn't pick a favorite. We've been a few times now and the quality has remained the same. Whether is Tuesday or Friday, you're getting a quality taco here. It's an easy place to go for pick up. We haven't eaten inside yet but look forward to order from here again. We order the chips this time and they are fresh made. So good. The queso doesn't match the quality of the chips; it's a little bland but you know how to fix that?! Add green sauce and suddenly the queso is fantastic.

I've not really found a terrific place for street tacos on the west side of 75 in Plano, until now. Friends of ours from the Dominican Republic told us to try Taquerias Cervantez. They did not lead us astray. We ordered the 3 taco lunch plate. A great price for 3 tacos, beans and rice, plus salsa. The best salsa, hands down, is the verde. Spicy and flavorful, but not a meal ender. For our tacos, we went with barbacoa, pastor and bistec. All were delicious, not overly fatty and flavorful. The tacos were packed with plenty of meat, so you got a great value for the money spent. Bottom line: Would I eat here again? YES. Am I saying all of this only because this is one of the only real street taco places west of 75? NO. Should you stop in? YES.

Me and my husband decided to stop by for lunch . I was very pleased with the food . The portion looked great and so did the meat . I ordered the barbacoa tacos and it was perfect . Even my husbands torta looked great. ( I still stole some from his plate ) Let me tell you that even the fries were delish. The host was very nice and helped my baby into her seat . I definitely will be returning here for more !

Definitely enjoyed my tacos we picked up this morning. The tacos are small but cheap and really yummy. Two of these little tacos are perfect for a smaller breakfast! I had the chorizo and egg and the bean and cheese taco. I topped my tacos with the red salsa but be warned. If you can't handle a heat this is not for you.

I randomly found this incredible taco restaurant when I needed tacos. It's in a quiet plaza next to a bubble tea cafe in Plano. It's very quiet but they've been opened for decades. The menu is simple. They serve breakfast - dinner which is convenient. The first time I came here I ordered 10 tacos to go. It ended up being $1 per taco which was a good deal. The prices are very inexpensive which is why I love this place even more. I tried the chicken and the barbacoa tacos and when I tell you that this is the best taco restaurant in Plano that's an understatement. The food is DELICIOUS! The barbacoa was seasoned so well. It wasn't greasy but very meaty and delicious. They came with green and red salsa which were both very spicy but its good. I ended up coming here twice in one week because it was so good! I also got the rice and beans which are incredible as well! Everyone who works here is extremely kind and friendly. If you speak Spanish, that's a bonus as well! Overall this is my new taco restaurant! I can't wait to try their breakfast one day!

I've moved from the area but was in the area today and had to try my old favorite taco spot to see if they were still hitting the same... and they are! Omg I miss this spot and living so close. A hidden gem in plank with the best street tacos! I ordered my usual chicken tacos on corn tortilla. They have THE BEST red sauce and the most seasoned sautéed onions I've had at a taco shop. I always order extra sautéed onions. They don't take too long but they've never been super quick cause everything made fresh. They're always so nice. It's never been glamorous on the inside: it's a taco shop? It's a few tables & you can sit down and eat. But you will always see some construction trucks or worker trucks in the lot cause this is where the real Hispanics go for authentic food tacos. They have some of the best seasoned meet around & the tortillas are always so soft. Miss them & will visit every time I'm in the area

I love some authentic tacos and Taquerias Cervantez hit the spot. I got four shredded chicken tacos, they were full of flavor and juicy. The cilantro and diced onions definitely topped it off! The restaurant itself isn't super big, although you can eat inside, I took mine to-go. Pricing is very reasonable!

This is definition "hole in the wall"!! These street tacos need more recognition!! If you like spicy, authentic mexican tacos- you absolutely need to try them out! A bit hard to find, and since it's new the inside is pretty empty. Not the best place to sit down and eat cause it's empty- but these tacos are beyond amazing! YES. MAAM. read more

My husband and I got tacos here after a crazy workout. We got a carne asada/bistec, pastor, and lengua. In addition, my husband got the super torta which included sausage, pastor, bistec, and ham along with a side of fries. The tacos were really good, which were also served with rice and beans. The super torta and fries were both good but didn't hold to well on the drive home. Perhaps if we get it again, we will get a torta and eat it at the restaurant. The restaurant is small and no frills, with a few tables to dine in inside. There's not a lot of taco places in Central Plano (compared to East Plano), so this is a great spot to have. It's also in a plaza where there are other great restaurants of varying cuisines (Filipino, Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese, Italian). I truly believe this is a major food hub in Central Plano. read more

Recently moved from San Antonio and looking for good street tacos. Missing our taco trucks in SA! Tried this place based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Al pastor was excellent. Breakfast burritos and beans had great seasoning and flavor. Green sauce was awesome. Would be 5 star if they had homemade tortillas but it's not a deal breaker. The corn tortillas were better than the flour. Can't go wrong with a street taco plate here. read more

Slotted in a strip mall alongside other ethnic eateries, Taqueria Cervantez is worth dropping in if craving a quick snack or lunch. Convenient online ordering makes pickup a breeze. Most of the time, orders are ready under 10 minutes, although getting crispy tripas tacos will require more prep time. Food has been consistently good, service consistently friendly. My household usually leans on the tacos a la carte menu: lengua, tripas, barbacoa and al pastor. With street tacos this good, we usually don't need any other sides or filler. But do say "si" to the green sauce! read more

Just want to echo the sentiments other reviewers have suggested, and add my 2 cents: I've eaten tacos in the streets of Mexico City. Miami. San Diego. Los Angeles. Austin. In fact, all over the Southwest and Mexico proper...and I am completely awe struck...How in the F did this place end up in Plano?? I got the chips, salsa, guacamole and speciality Tacos 1, 2, 4 and 8: hands down the most memorable and delicious tacos I've EVER HAD. This place is a god send, and if it was a food truck in Los Angeles, a restaurant in NYC or in the back of a Mexican market in the Mission district of San Francisco, there would be lines around the block. Thank you taquerías Cervantez and the taco gods above for blessing us and the humble town of Plano with your presence...keep the salsa coming, and tacos dripping with your savory flavors! read more

The one star is for the green sauce. I'm tired of giving this place money. Everytime I call they don't answer. They aren't open when their hours say they're open. They're open whenever they want to be. It's a gamble going up there so beware of that. Sucks it's the only taqueria that's close read more

I always call in and get my order to-go. Everyone has been so nice and I get my food on time and hot. They don't skimp on the meat!!! I haven't explored the menu outside of the tacos, but I have yet to try every taco on the menu. I always end up buying the same ones because they're just so good (the al pastor and bisteak tacos). By far my favorite taco place, I'm sad that I'll be moving away from the area soon. They have a $1 each al pastor taco special on Tuesdays!!! read more

The tacos here are great. Very flavorful meats and well plated. We especially like the radish. The dinner burrito is surprisingly big, but was fantastic. I would also recommend the burrito bowl if you want the same stuff but a slightly smaller portion. read more

This place is not good. I don't know why the high reviews. The salsas are terrible and food is overpriced and plain. I ordered enchiladas once time. The salsa tasted like it was from the can. Second time, ordered a quesadilla and cheese was not complete melted. Inside usually there's always flies flying around and the restroom never had soap. Never coming back here again. read more

Went there last night and they were closed. According to yelp and there sign on the door they should have been open. They should have put a message on there phone or something to let people know they were closing early. Even on a holiday weekend you have to let people know you are not keeping regular hours. read more

This taqueria is in a pretty nondescript shopping center and you can barely see the sign from the road, but it's worth the search! Tacos were delicious - loved the addition of fresh sliced radishes to add some crunch. read more

A 5/5 Mexican restaurant has become a 1 star. A place that used to be so amazing, and has steadily gone downhill. Currently, food isn't consistent and items are just not available. Also, now there's a new cashier high schooler that seems to act indignant, like taking our order is some huge annoyance. Then says many items on the menu are unavailable only after you ask for them. Example, tried to get some churros and she asked what flavor and after asking for different flavors she proceeded to say she was out of everything but one. Why wouldn't you just tell me you only have one flavor from the start? On top of that the order usually comes out wrong even when your very clear about what you want. This is not a language barrier issue ether, this is a full on poor treatment of guests wanting to get food. This happens at all times, 3 hours before close to 1hour before close. It doesn't matter, the guest is their biggest problem. That's what this once great place now feels like. Have already found a better place thankfully from the results of being unhappy here. read more

For my entrée, I had the skirt steak with beans, pico de gallo, enchilada, and rice. The flavors were solid, but again, the plate came out lukewarm. For a Tex-Mex spot, temperature really matters. I don't need it piping hot, but I do expect my food to feel freshly made and properly heated when it arrives. That was my only disappointment. I've ordered carryout before without issue, and because the service and vibe are strong, I will definitely be back to give it another try. I just hope next time the food comes out hot and fresh. Overall: great service, good flavors, strong local energy -- just room for improvement on food temperature.

I recently ordered two fajita tacos to go, hoping to try out this place. When I received my order, the meat appeared to be red-marinated and tasted like pork, though I had requested beef. I went back inside to clarify, and the man assured me it was beef. However, upon looking at other customers' plates, I could see they had the fajita beef I was expecting. Feeling uneasy, I decided to try the tacos anyway. Unfortunately, I couldn't stomach them; the meat tasted like pork, and the excessive grease made me feel sick. I ended up throwing them away.
