Okay I am in town for business my niece recommended this place. The staff was so welcoming. TERRIBLE. This restaurant does not care about taking care of customers. I have many stories I can provide. In a span of one week, we ordered 3 times, and all 3 orders were missing items or just wrong. Once I ordered oxtail on a Sunday early in the day, so they had no excuse to fail, but they found a way. I know leftover oxtails when I taste it. Also they gave 3 medium sized oxtail and one tiny piece. Mostly gravy. Also don't bother with sides. If they don't feel like preparing the sides, they will not. But they still don't refund you. All around terrible place to spend your money. They need to start over. read more

Baaaaby! This food was AWFUL! I was craving jerk chicken and decided to give this place a try. Needless to say, I'll be continuing my trips to the east side to get authentic Jamaican food. I tried the mac and cheese (was just ok - only because I don't like creamy), the broccoli rice casserole (absolutely amazing), the plantains (very good), the rice and peas with goat curry sauce (um, um good) and my daughter ordered the salmon pasta which was heavenly. I also tried the coco bread which was quite good. I hear the loaded fries are to die for, I will try this dish next time. Food: The flavors are amazing. You get the caribbean flavor in EVERY bite. The flavors are not overwhelming, but just right. I have a few allergies so this is perfect for me. The food portions are HUGE! You will definitely have enough food for another meal or to share. Staff: The staff is very friendly and will give advice based on your taste buds and what you are craving. The staff makes you feel like you are at a family friendly restaurant in your neighborhood. They really nailed it on this one. I have ordered (only) delivery from this place upwards of 10+ times. Let me say -- the food is absolutely delicious. What has become increasingly disappointing is the fact that ordering the food means items will be missing. The jerk chicken fries are supposed to come with a cream sauce and a jerk sauce (both of which are delicious). After a year of supporting this business and ordering *extra* sauce to avoid any confusion, neither arrive which is super disappointing. I don't know if it's the delivery people or the restaurant, but you do not get what you pay for with this restaurant which sucks because the food is actually so good. The curry chicken isnt curry it's very watered down. The rice is watery and the jerk pasta doesn't even have a taste. The only thing that's good I will say is the jerk wings. Do Not Recommend!!! Before I ordered through GrubHub, I called the location and asked about my order: I wanted oxtail gravy to go over my salmon and shrimp. I clearly told the lady that answered at the Perimeter Mall Location, if it was something they couldn't do, I will try them some other time. and was told by the lady at the location to: "Request the side in the notes or special instructions area" I received my order without the gravy! I called the location and spoke with the same lady, she apologized and said there was nothing she could do. She told me her employees should have read the instructions better. But there was nothing she could do. As I told her that wasn't acceptable. The gravy was the reason I placed the order. She said there wasn't a charge for it and beside, it's GrubHub's delivery drivers if they wanted to come back and I would have to place the complaint through GrubHub. I called GH and they wanted to give me a credit of $15. My order came to $37. I ordered the Jerk Salmon with rice and peas, I ordered the 8 piece of Jerk Shrimp on the side and a order of plantains. So being Caribbean and just moving from Fort. Lauderdale I have been on the hunt for good Caribbean food in Atl. After visiting a couple of spots I have realized it's just not comparing to Florida spots at all! However visiting Tastee Spoon gave me hope again, that I could have a decent spot to eat my fav food. So far I've had the oxtail and the curry chicken. The winner so far in these dishes for me is the oxtail, which is very easy for restaurants to not get this right but I was actually impressed. The curry chicken needed more flavor and gravy however maybe it was a bad day, so I will give it another try. The plantains are really good and the Mac and cheese was pretty darn good also. Okay, so I tried Tastee Spoon for the first time the other day. Keep in mind that I'm a former New Yorker as well as a person with Caribbean roots, so I know good Jamaican food when I taste it. I ordered the jerk chicken pasta and a beef patty, and was very pleased with what I had received. It tasted exactly how I expected to. I haven't had anything else but will probably try at another time. Now: the reason why I give 3 stars... the customer service here is trash. I don't expect much given that it's a Jamaican restaurant and the employees always have attitudes galore. But in this case, the staff doesn't move too quickly in terms of serving the food, have nonchalant attitudes AND not to mention I waited patiently in line and a man cut in front of me, placed his order, RECEIVED his order and they let him! Meanwhile, they see me standing there like the patient woman I am. I let it slide (normally I'm ready to throw hands when someone skips a hungry me) but to me that's absolutely unacceptable. I would love to be a repeat customer but the service has to do better.
