Good heavens, almost exactly one year later I stopped in, ordered the same food, sat in the same seat, and they remembered me! What a treasure this place is!

More of a 4.5 star experience, but rounded up. Quality/Quantity - I was starving when I got here; a consequence of eating excessively healthy, daily salads... My guest let me do the ordering since they did not have her usual order - Salmon bento box. So today I ordered the following: Sushi Plater - Fresh and the CA rolls were done well. Decent size fish, but I actually could have used a little more rice with each Nigiri. But overall, we were happy. Caterpillar - One of my guest's favorites. Again, done well, fresh, and of decent quantity. Romeo & Juliet - I honestly do not think I have ever gotten this roll before. It was my favorite. Not just because of the freshness and decent quality, but because it was new to me, and a good combination of a roll. There are a couple of rolls I have also never tried before. But that just means I have to come back soon. Atmosphere - Very small local business. 4 booths and 4 counter seating. Not even a sushi bar... Very limited street parking; I had to park 2 blocks away. Open 6 days a week for dinner only, see Yelp. Closed on Wednesdays. Service - Good. Both team members greeted us when we entered. We were the only customers. Our waters were refilled often. Price - $50 + tip. Very reasonably priced for what we got. Actually, I would consider it inexpensive for SF. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for the last two years; I look forward to becoming a regular. If only the parking was easier...

Teruaki is my favorite sushi place in the city, the owners are so welcoming and considerate with the way they prepare and serve you. We came in on a Sunday to have some evening sushi and they had the 49ers game playing on their tv. The feel of the restaurant gives comfort and home. I highly recommend this place. Give it a try next time you're in SF!

Delicious and fresh sushi. I have high standards for sushi and this place is sooo good. While the inside could be cozier, it doesn't matter because the sushi is so tasty! Incredible prices & lovely service as well. Plan on coming back here.

The Romeo & Juliet Roll is my favorite, the scallops are perfect! The 49ers Roll is perfectly balanced and refreshing!

Teruaki easily takes first place in my book for high-quality sushi, and the price happens to be unbeatable. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by AKI, who provides attentive service throughout your meal. Meanwhile, her husband, TERU, crafts beautifully balanced, top-tier sushi rolls right behind the counter. This restaurant is only ran by TERU and AKI, and they maintain a VERY high standard for their food. The experience is refreshingly simple and unpretentious, no gimmicks, just exceptionally good food. Straight to the point. The Romeo & Juliet Roll is my favorite, it's balanced well and the scallops are phenomenal! The 49ers Roll has the most delicate hints of lemon along with the perfect matchstick cucumber pieces - The chef is incredibly skilled with his knife. I've had Yama in Los Angeles and Nobu in Newport, but Teruaki in San Francisco stands above them all. It's the kind of spot you'll want to gate keep and tell only your favorite people about.

What a hidden gem! Searched yelp for sushi after a long day and found this spot. Service was great and the sushi was bomb. Ordered the special rolls: Caterpillar, cherry blossom, shrimp&eel (forgot the name), and volcano. Favorite was the volcano roll!

Their rolls are good sizes and they are quick! I prefer them to Kufuya which is nearby.

Don't sleep on this little gem. Looks can be deceiving. Teruaki is a small, 3 or 4 table spot. No flash but the food shines. The sushi was really excellent and very well presented. Definitely going back.

This place is a very small sushi restaurant on Geary in the Outer Richmond. We came here on a Tuesday for dinner for a party of 2. We ordered 4 rolls, which was a lot as we ended up taking about 1 roll's amount worth back home. We ordered a Lion King roll, Four Seasons roll, Romeo & Juliet roll, and Cherry Blossom roll. Overall, the rolls were really big and had great variety. The service was pretty standard. There were not really many other people in the restaurant when we were there. The booth chair I sat on was kind of uncomfortable or stiff, but overall, the experience was solid.

Our server Ivana is so sweet, when we came in she greeted us with so much kindness. I recently visited Teruaki and was absolutely blown away by the exceptional service and quality of sushi they offer! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient overall. I was impressed by the variety and uniqueness of their inventory. You can truly tell that each item is thoughtfully selected with care and attention to detail. I found exactly what I was looking for! (Order the 49er roll it is delicious we ate it so quickly!!) What stood out the most was the personalized customer service. They took the time to understand my needs and made thoughtful recommendations without being pushy. It's rare to find such genuine and attentive service nowadays. I also appreciate how they support the local community by sourcing from local artisans. It feels good to shop somewhere that cares about the community as much as they do about their customers. I highly recommend Teruaki to anyone looking for quality products and a delightful shopping experience. I will definitely be returning soon! This place is the cutest !!

Fresh, flavorful sushi and excellent service! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Definitely a place I'd come back to. Highly recommend!

11/3/23. Sushi & Sashimi Platter. $29.95+ each. LOVE their Sashimi, Unagi and how California Roll melts in mouth!

11/3/23. Ordered ahead from DoorDash and my order came around 830PM. *Celebrate Bf's Birthday Month wOohOo!* I have to mention that DoorDash driver, Enver was superb! Two Orders of: Sushi & Sashimi platter $29.95+ each. I compared the prices and amount of pieces from other restaurants. This place is more bang for your buck! It's not the greatest quality sushi but good enough. The ngiri and sashimi were Kukje Market quality. Not bad at all! The sashimi was better than the ngiri. I'm glad the ngiri set had scallop and unagi in it, but the scallop had a some what fish-y taste. You can never go wrong with sake (salmon). Unagi was delicious! Kukje most likely sells $20 for a platter like this. It was like, do I really wana drive all the way to Daly City at this time? Or just chill at home and have the food come to me? Sooo.. I paid $10 extra and ordered from here lol The california roll WOW'd me!!! From the crab meat, avocado and the sushi rice. It was lowkey melting in my mouth and flavors were on point! I think that was one of the best California Rolls, I've ever had! Also, I love how presentable every thing was. From the radish, shiso leaf, sushi and even the to-go plates! Cute. I'll have to try their other entrees. Happy eat's ya'll =)

The hostess seemed like everyone was bothering her. We had to wait for a table (expected) so we had a couple different interactions with her and she said the absolute bare minimum in an irritated tone and both times I said "thank you" she just stared at me. Our waitress took a considerable amount of time to even come greet us. At greeting she already wanted us to order our food along with our beverages. It felt rushed after not being acknowledged. Once our main courses came we were never checked on until she brought the check. No water refills or anything until the check came and I had to ask. My friend started with the Hartford style clam chowder and it was the blandest chowder either of us had ever had. It honestly tasted like it came from a can. We did get this comped off, which was appreciated. The lobster roll my friend had was mostly all bread and mediocre tasting. Not worth the money at all. I had the squid ink spaghetti and it was completely flavorless other than the occasional burst of spice. It was spice without actual flavor though. I've never had a squid ink pasta dish that tasted like nothing. This was the most bland meal I've ever had at any restaurant.

When it was finally my turn to order, the cashier was incredibly kind and helpful. The three big pieces of fish were beautifully seasoned, and even the seasoning on the chips was something different that I really enjoyed. Every bite was hot, flavorful, and delicious. The fish tasted incredibly fresh, and the fries were crispy and satisfying. I definitely understood why this place had such a crowd. My only small issue was that one of my pieces of fish was pretty thick, and when I bit into it, I noticed the batter in the center wasn't completely cooked through. It probably could have used a little more time in the fryer, but it wasn't enough to ruin the overall experience. Overall, I had a great time at Hook Fish Co. Finding street parking 1.5 blocks away, I walked in and the hostess seated me at a long table to the right of the entrance. I was a little early which gave me time to study the menu. The dining room was mostly full already. When my party arrived, our host ordered several appetizers to share and asked each diner to decide on their own main meal. We tried three small bites as follows: a. Boneless fried chicken, soy garlic (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=KYa0rZOUsOqjeQpdJelYAA) - Korean style crispy boneless chicken; these were as described with a slightly sweet and sticky glaze. b. Popcorn salmon (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=92ZddPT6Qo2TiIur8YOpZA) - Bite size fried salmon with spicy salmon; I did not recognize that this was salmon until the 3rd bite. c. Bulgogi quesadilla (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=ymymJkLHfLRpJgYcbNFUCw) - Quesadilla with bulgogi and cheese; it makes for an interesting combination, again the sweetness from the meat meshing with the rich and savory cheese. I chose the pork plate (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=tYaxEnKifiKWh7TzfzH1rA), spicy; marinated sliced pork savory sauce cooked with veggies and glass noodle on sizzling plate, served with rice (more meat $7.00, brown rice $2.00 supplement charges). I had this with regular rice and the normal portion which was plenty. The flavor was consistent with K style cooking and, being full from a heavy lunch and the apps, I ended up bringing home half of this home, rice included. It seemed that everyone enjoyed their meals and everyone had boxes to bring food home so the portions are generous. In reading my original review, the food again rates 3.5 stars for me but it was interesting to see how the menu changed to include ramen and soups too. The two gals who tended to our big party (not an easy task) were efficient and cordial as they removed empty plates and bowls and refilled water glasses regularly. The dining room filled up by the time we left with a younger crowd. There is an extensive soju menu so that may be a draw too. With the # of restaurants in the Richmond, doubtful that I would return here other than for parties like this. Also, I lean towards more traditional Korean cuisine.
