I usually bring my homemade yeast rolls to Thanksgiving dinner but since I had to work the Wednesday before Thanksgiving was looking for another option. This is our favorite steakhouse. It is fun, lively and lots of people watching. The best flavored filet. Great salads and baked potatoes. Now what they call Texas chili, is not Texas chili lol Lived in SETX my entire life up until 2 years ago. They do not put beans in their chili at TXR unlike here in Reno. Most cooks in TX do not put beans in theirs either, it is a filler. Baked potatoes are the best. The only way I cook them at home now. Salt crusted yummm. Great margaritas and draft beers! The waitlist was very infuriating process. We used it and arrived 50 minutes after the waitlist suggested. It does not work like a reservation, it just gives you an estimate time to arrive, you still may wait once you arrive. However the part that was most upsetting was the host, she was very rude and we felt like she never cared to give us an accurate estimate time for us to sit down. We checked three different times and always heard 5 to 10 minutes in a span of 30 minutes. On the plus side. our server was very sweet, kind and attentive, she heard we had a bad start to our visit and brought the manager to talk to us about our experience thus far. We usually love going to get a great steak. My mom was having a craving so we thought we would go in. Our server was amazing but our table location was not ideal. Right behind us there were hosts and bussers congregating. They were talking pretty loudly. For over 30 minutes we put up with it but it was really bothering my mom. No manager had come by so my husband turned around. He told them they were being really loud and we could hear all of their conversations. He didn't raise his voice or yell. The kids started laughing and smirking. My husband told the kid to wipe the smirk off his face and the kids started laughing and arguing with my husband. We called a manager over. Gary was awesome. Took them back and talked to them instantly. Super professional and apologized to us. Then the manager Cori came out. Thats where it went even worse. She said she wanted to get our side of what happened because the kids said that we were yelling at them and that my husband said he would wipe the smirk off the kids face. Neither of those happened. She continued to make excuses for the kids and how they responded to us. They are only 16 and they need more coaching. Not a sincere apology or that their behavior was unacceptable. I have worked in restaurants for over 20 years. I have had guests scream and yell at me and I have never responded to a guest the way those kids did. I have had great managers that handles the situations professionally and apologized for my behavior even if I wasn't in the wrong. This was not that. The manager made us feel like we were in the wrong for her disrespectful employees. No true apology just excuses for why they acted the way they did. There were people screaming, the music was loud, and at some point one of the servers made everyone scream at the top of their lungs for a birthday. I had dinner here last week and for the first time in a long time, I was disappointed with service and first time ever with my food. Our service was not even two stars. I worked in the service industry for years and understand that we have bad days, but our server was short and didn't check back. We watched her serve the two tables who were seated after us their drinks and appetizers before we got water and my margarita. We asked her to start a cactus blossom and she told us that she had other tables to grab drinks for. (Unacceptable from a service stand point). I can accept a lot because I understand it's not always easy to deal with people. This restaurant being the only one in town is slammed busy from opening until closing. It wouldn't have killed our server to push the button to start our appetizer. When we finally received our cactus blossom and we had raw batter. I ordered a 6 oz sirloin and shrimp it was well done although I asked for MR. It was also closer to 5 oz than a 6 oz steak. My guess was a 4.5 oz at best. We ate our salads and pushed aside our raw cactus blossom then she came by. I still hadn't received my margarita, I almost canceled it because it took so long to get to the table. We received our dinner after the two tables behind us that she actually did her job well with. The couple next to us who was seated 10 minutes before us was served after us. They didn't order other courses. I'm not sure how they weren't upset. The service was horrible and my over cooked steak was barely edible. We watched the restaurant fill up and it got louder. I'm super bummed about this experience and asking for your team to keep up with the restroom checks. There's only 3 stalls and one was out of service. I'm not sure how they are filled to capacity everyday and they only have two functioning toilets in the woman's restroom. The line to get in for a table is just as long for the restroom. It's sad that this is the standard of service here. I can't say I'll be running back here soon to pay to be neglected by servers like the one we had last week. The restaurant was packed this Saturday night with a line out the door but we were seated in a large, comfy booth. The restaurant is boisterous and noisy but that fits with the atmosphere and expectation. The servers put on a line dance for our enjoyment and it's just a fun party environment so don't go there for a quiet intimate dinner. The menu is expensive with fish, chicken, steaks and the famous ribs. We ordered ribeye and ribs all around. The meat just falls off the bone. There is a long list of sides and two choices accompany each dinner. Tall, tall drinks. Mocktails are available as well as a bar with full service. The line was still waiting out the door when we exited so expect to wait. No room for dessert this evening as we had ribs to take home due to the large portions. It's Texas Roadhouse. The steaks are pretty good and well priced. We ordered the blooming onion and a bone in rib eye. Rib eye was cooked just as we ordered. The blooming onion was alright, little soggy and not fried as well as would've liked. The service as always is great and quick and attentive. Since it's Texas Roadhouse you gotta expect a wait to get in so make sure you reserve a spot if you'd like to bypass all that. Given that we were going to be dropping off food before going home. I can say that the burger is flavorful, it's definitely a thick patty that I'd recommend medium rare to give you that beefy flavor you look for in a bite. However, complementary to the taste, veggies were fresh, and bun didn't dismantle like most burgers do when you take them to go and they sit in the container. My fiancée loved her steak and said that it was cooked perfectly medium rare. So I highly recommend this if you live close enough to get it and eat it fresh. As well as that bread and butter.... It's never a bad time whenever we go out to Texas Roadhouse. It's always fun and entertaining. As well as very clean.The food and the service are always excellent. I will forever be obsessed over the hot rolls and cinnamon butter, literally forever. Thank you so much to whoever came up with that! The staff are really great, and everyone works really hard to ensure your orders are correct and to your liking. They're really helpful for menu suggestions if you ever need help or are curious about something. If anything is ever wrong with your order they try their best to fix it for you as quickly as possible and they're always so nice and happy to help. There really isn't one bad thing on the menu, and i look forward to every meal we have. The wait times can be a kicker though, so you gotta time your visit just right. Another year, and another TRH gift card! We opted to dine in this time, as we usually get take out. I think it doesn't matter the time or day or day of the week, this place is just a madhouse! 5:45pm on a random Thursday and even tho we checked in online, arrived to a line pouring out the foyer, out through the double door into the damn cold winter night outside. We received a text that our table was ready, and responded HERE per the text directions, but had no idea we weren't actually "checked in" until we went to the hostess stand and spoke to the young lady there. Why go thru all that only to not have a place in the line when the crowd is literally blocking the hostess stand because no one knows you're NOT checked in? Sheesh. We were sat at a MASSIVE booth, weird for a party of 2. Server was fine, and the wait staff buzzes by frequently flashing a thumbs up. Order taken and rolls dropped lickedy split! Linedancing and birthday whoopin' and hollerin' ensures amid food drops. Food was fine this time, and the benefit to dining in is apparent when you want au jus or horseradish with your prime rib, items frequently missing in the to-go bag. Gift card lent itself to a self-serve pay option at the table top kiosk, which was fine when we needed to get to our show but couldn't locate our server! We'll know that for next time. We head over to Shayden Summit to kill a bit of time. We come back 5 minutes before they sent a confirmation text an hour and twenty minutes later and they're ready. Not bad. With a bit of a wait at the door to check in we go in and...man this place is slammed! Wall to wall packed, the restaurant is bar style loud, with TVs going, bar backs, waiters, waitresses and hostess are running all over the place. We're then seated. Amanda our waitress was very kind, accommodating and courteous. Fritzie would have a ribeye this evening, I would try a steak. Long story short while the first impression of this meal wasn't that good the service was. Fritzie's ribeye came out pretty dark, a little charred and unfortunately salty as she asked for sauteed mushrooms on top. My steak was just good, more or less okay as far as flavor. After having gotten both proteins medium well, it was expected to be a little tough, but not so dry you can't savor the flavor of the cut of meat. I gave Texas Roadhouse a three this visit because what I hoped for in a savory and delicious meal was overshadowed by some faults and opportunities. The food came out fast and piping hot, but knowing my wife had to return her ribeye to ask for another (which Amanda was super supportive of) and the fact our food was rather subpar just made for a "meh" experience, one that I could've gotten at home if I cooked it. This is my go to place! Their M-Th early dinner is one of the best deals in Reno dining! Get there by 4 if you want parking spot. Their house salad is large and delicious! I'm there weekly and I no longer have to think about what to order- I get the pork chop which is thick and juicy, with the peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes, house salad comes first and I usually avoid their fresh hot rolls (no carbs). I usually have their $3.50 happy hour margarita, at least one, but my favorite bartender Bailey knows what I want. I sometimes order their fabulous ribs, I love the staffs line dancing and when someone is celebrating a birthday--they have a saddle on a sawhorse to ride on while everyone sings and shouts yee haw! I'm a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. I found out that Texas Roadhouse was giving Veterans the option of a free meal on Veterans Day or the option of free meal voucher to be picked up on Veterans Day, for a future free meal. I was not hungry at the time so I opted for the voucher. Why not? Today I went to Texas Roadhouse for that free meal and forget about. I had 4 pieces of their delicious free bread, a house salad with blue cheese dressing, a baked sweet potato, and a delicious tender sirloin steak. All on the house. By the way, there was hardly any wait to get in and the service was incredible. Although my meal was free, I tipped a little over 20%. The way is supposed to be. Although there are many fancy expensive steakhouses in Reno (and I have been to a few of them), Texas Roadhouse has always been my favorite. I highly recommend it. Staff here was excellent on a very busy sports night. Despite the crowds the bar staff did a great job getting orders out timely. My salad came out wrong so I just ate around the egg I asked to be left off. I fully enjoyed it still. They sent the manager over which I didnt request and the manager wanted to take the salad off my bill which I told them wasn't necessary and still took of $10 bucks. Every time we visit Texas Roadhouse, the service is top notch and this time was no exception! We had multiple team members checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed, which made the whole experience feel really welcoming and seamless. Our server, Alyssa, was absolutely phenomenal. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly taken care of. We decided to try the rattlesnake bites for the first time and they were cheesy, spicy, and super flavorful! Though I have to say, the fried pickles are still my personal favorite. It was super packed and chaotic when we got there, and the hostess seemed to be very annoyed with assisting those of us waiting to put in our names. This should go without saying, but Texas Roadhouse is such a great place to visit! The food is always consistently good, the service is super kind and the prices are reasonably priced. Be warned: you will wait up to 1-2 hours by going to this location (depending how big your party is).
