Pad see ew, 1 star - I've had this before n it was a solid 3.5 stars but the last time I ordered to go, I gave my food away. They changed the soy sauce, different brand maybe? It has a smell n off putting taste to it. So gross Garlic pork, 3.5 stars - had this during my last dine in visit n I remember it was tasty. Pork was tender n garlicky. Mango & sticky rice, 1 star - to go order: mango n rice ratio was off. I literally received half of a small mango with a huge portion of sticky rice. The rice was kinda hard, not glutinous at all. Dine in: portion was perfect. Shady yo Staff, 4 stars - all the staff I've crossed path with was very nice Decor, 2.5 stars - older decor, kindly dingy. This place has really gone downhill. I'd ocassionally drop in every once in awhile over the last 5 years. It must have changed ownership. It wasn't too busy for a Sunday and we found out the reason.Tonight, we ordered the bbq chicken, crying tiger steak, and basil eggplant with tofu upgrade. Bbq chicken was overcooked and dry. The crying tiger steak was a real tough cut of steak. To top things off, our eggplant dish arrived without eggplant. They tried 2 times to correct this dish and failed.The cook came out and tried to blame us for their mistakes. We sent the dish back..Our waiter was inexperienced and couldn't even find a serving knife. He stated that they didn't have any available.Tonight was a total disaster! I was in the area I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the panang curry with rice to go. My panang curry did not have any veggies at all and just beef with the curry. It tasted okay nothing special about it. I was expecting some veggies at least with my curry and I feel like I was eating a kid meal without veggies. This place is absolutely wonderful! I have never ever had a bad meal from this restaurant. The portion sizes here are very decent, and the price is typical for a Thai restaurant in Southern California. Ordering through this app from this restaurant has always gone smoothly. A couple dishes I particularly enjoy are the Pad See Ew and the Pad Kee Mao. Usually with the Pad See Ew, Grease and lack of flavor tends to be an issue. Living up to the restaurants name, these noodles take on a barbecue flavor which is quite delightful. The Pad Kee Mao was sprinkled with red chili flakes to give it its heat. While it was not like the traditional Pad Kee Mao with chopped chilis, the flavor was nonetheless delicious and the veggies did not wilt. Appetizers here are amazing. One cannot go wrong with any of them. A favorite component of the fried appetizers is the tangy orange peanut dipping spice. We were kindly treated to two complementary Thai iced teas for having to wait a little bit longer than anticipated for an order once, and that was a such a lovely gesture. Horrible service. I came to eat here this morning and the lady working in the front was so rude. And on top of that there was a delivery driver that showed up to the restaurant to drop off their order and the lady was being rude and complaining to the driver because he didn't enter through the side door. I could tell he was trying to be nice to her but she had a horrible attitude with him. Before he left , she was complaining to him that his dollie was ruining her carpet and told him to get out. Got both to go. Rice is extra here. Boo... Waited about 15 minutes after ordering . Got home in 5 minutes and can say that the pad see ew was lacking. I think it was actually lacking some broccoli for crunch. It was a little overly sweet and soggy. Maybe too much soy sauce? The ginger pork dish was $9 and it had a nice broth to it. But it tasted nothing like Thai food, more like Chinese food. Sweetie Thai and Thai Nakorn are better choices IMO for more of an authentic taste. My hubby was disappointed with his order of calamari $9.75 and it was only 8 pcs and imbedded in this lettuce making it look like a lot. Thai BBq in Cerritos do not have the lettuce bed and serves a platefull of calamares. My husband said he will not go back to this one in Valley View. Wanted to try something new and was in the mood for some ramen so I stopped by here since it was close by. Not a fan. Ordered "be tummmm yum" or whatever but let me just say it should be renamed "no tum yum" I don't like spice at all. I'm a wimp and it was way too spicy, the friend I came with loves spicy and it was even too much for her. I never return my food but I couldn't suck it up and pretend I liked it... I told the waitress it was to spicy and she told me okay I'll just pour out the broth and add some to it. Which isn't something you should say you are doing and it's definitely not going to solve the problem because the spice is still in the bowl. She brought it bak and it was just as spicy as before. Your typical Thai restaurant. I ordered Spring Rolls, Pad Thai with Shrimp, and BBQ Pork for take out and the hostess said it will take about 10 minutes for it to be ready. It took about 15... not too bad. The food was good. The preparation seemed pretty standard/traditional. Usually, I feel like Thai places tend to over-season their food, but the balance here was very good.
